La Parada in Lausanne

I think I have rarely eaten so badly in a restaurant... the dishes tasteless, chicken that smells like fish, guacamole without seasoning, and the taco whose fat leaves something to be desired (I had to dab on my napkin to manage to eat)… not to mention the smiling service but absent for 3 hours (slow service)…. Too bad because the atmosphere was great... I certainly wouldn't come back... and I don't recommend eating...

Warm atmosphere (may be a little noisy for the most sensitive). The food is very good, faithful to South American cuisine and the cocktails are delicious.

Bad service, the waitress is rude and unpleasant. We waited an hour to be served. This is unheard of

So the food was average depending on the dishes... the most unpleasant thing was the waitress when we asked her about the waiting time for the dishes "one hour", she replied "it's not me who cooks". I still think that if she doesn't know how to talk to customers she might as well not work in this environment 🤷🏽‍♀️

Really enjoyed our evening! The food was delicious and the friendly staff really added to the experience. Lively and quite noisy so not for somebody looking for a “quiet” evening. We’ll be back for sure!

Great discovery of this corner of Mexico in Lausanne

Nice, original but too dark for dinner in the evening, the meat too dry and you have to order extra sauces which are chargeable... not very logical but overall it's okay but I don't think I'll go back there except for the cocktails which was very good!!!

I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately the service from the waitress who served me was terrible, I ordered tacos and specified without onion and it arrived with pieces of onion (I removed it without a problem) I ordered to add tomato and the tomato never arrived, my tacos got cold and unfortunately I did not enjoy anything . On the mid-day shift I was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, I don't recommend. Maybe just to have a drink and that's it.

I am a cook and I have already been to Mexico and frankly exceptional cuisine!! Authentic taste, good service, nice restaurant, everything I like.

Went here for dinner and had a good time. The food is nice, in particular the chicken appetiser. Tacos are nice and portions are pretty generous. The staff is very friendly and took good care of us. Only downside for me is that it is very noisy so it was difficult to have a conversation with people around the table.

Nice place, shame to have drinks spilled on you by the waitress... there could have at least been a commercial gesture.

Cocktails are good On the other hand, in terms of food, we found it very bland. Latin American fever was clearly missing from our plates. The restaurant is VERY noisy. Too much even. I think we should turn off the speakers on the restaurant side, or even add a few sound trap plates because as soon as the main course was finished we fled the place instead of having dessert and enjoying the evening a little more. I went for the celebration of the day of the death. It was amazing to celebrate it in Lausanne.

Restaurant / bar, great atmosphere, dream decor and above all great cocktails!! A nice trip to Latin America for a moment!! We will come back to taste the à la carte dishes!

Some dishes were too greasy and tasteless. Small mention for the Shredded Beef Taco which was good but once again lacked seasoning.

If you like to spice up your life

The staff and the atmosphere were great. Not a great food experience however. The starters were okay (guacamole and yuca fries). But the beef tacos were too fat and the shrimp one a bit dry (well presented and nice-looking though). After three bites we wanted to stop.

Fun place to be with friends. Love the vibe and the margaritas are to die for. They some times run cute used clothes events which is great.

My favourite spot in Lausanne. Amazing food: the menu is refreshed every few weeks so even regulars won’t get bored ;-) Great cocktails, cool decor, and consistently a lively atmosphere with a fun crowd. Lovely team running the place. I’m also a big fan of their monthly vide dressing events.

Food is good. But they have no clue about food allergies. I ordered a dr gab gluten free beer from the menu (highlighted as gluten free) that turned out to be normal beer with gluten. Luckily I noticed after only one sip. Unacceptable.

It's very good, the cocktails are delicious, the service is friendly and efficient but I will only come back on the terrace (and therefore in summer), it's so noisy! Terrible. Too bad, though.

We discovered this new Mexican restaurant in Lausanne and were not disappointed! The menu is very well thought out, original and diverse. The dishes were very good, especially the shrimp tacos! Absolutely worth testing! The prices are relatively reasonable and the decoration is great! The bar is also very beautiful with very good cocktails. Small downside for the heat and lack of space. Also missing small wipes with the spicy mango sauce wings! (Even if you can go wash your hands in the toilet). We will come back in any case, because it is worth the detour!

Be careful not for coeliacs! On the menu there is a small symbol indicating gluten-free dishes. My celiac friend was excited to try the many Mexican options. Unfortunately, as the waiter confirmed to us after a few questions, nothing is gluten-free. We thank the waiter who advised me not to eat at their place if my girlfriend is allergic to gluten! Yet another restaurant that says gluten-free when none of the options listed are. Big disappointment, the menu should be clarified or the gluten-free acronym should be removed or the allergens in the dishes should be clarified with your servers.

Informal and welcoming environment where friendliness and helpfulness are at home. You can taste excellent Mexican specialities, including vegetarian ones. The cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are absolutely worth trying. A lunch in company and joy, we had a great time. Thank you.

Great place but the service is too slow. 45 minutes for a drink and we had to ask 3 times for our dish which arrived 2hrs after we’d ordered. The staff was nice but definitely not enough people working for a Friday night.

Excellent, authentic flavors. Love the birria, guac, and the sauces. Also can't beat the picara margarita. They have a ton of gluten-free options as well.

Very nice surprise in a neighborhood where we don't usually go: authentic Mexican cuisine, with traditional dishes but also more original ones. It is delicious! I tried the Birriamen and I was absolutely not disappointed. The meat was tender, the broth full of flavors, a touch of lime all in a generous portion! Be careful of the sauces which are all quite spicy (and this is not always indicated) and another small downside: the road side terrace is rather noisy because of a lot of passing cars! But I totally recommend this restaurant!

The best birria quesadillas and very genuine. The ambience is excellent.

The service is welcoming with a lovely lively energy. The food was served in a more than respectable time, and was delicious and tasted authentic. The place is warm with its decoration in charming colors and its plants. I recommend the Tini Bikini cocktail.

We went for lunch and ordered 3 dishes to try the different options in the menu. The size of the portions were good but the the food was a bit tasteless and not very close to the authentic mexican food. Finally, the place is described as a "Latin American Restaurant" but the menu almost only includes mexican dishes. To really be a Latin-American restaurant, it would be nice to add dishes from other Latin-American countries.

Didn't appreciate a lot of the food as the flavour pairings just did not mesh well within a dish (stay as far away from the spicy mango wings as possible). But the quality of the individual ingredients as well as cocktails was good so it's not all completely bad. Service was friendly and helpful but the atmosphere during the evening when I went felt a little too dark and gloomy for an upbeat latin american place.

Nice place with a lively atmosphere and music. Cocktails were above average for Lausanne, so it was quiet good for the price. Service was good but we were kicked out at the end of the night, a bit tactless from the head of service who was shouting to get the he'll out of there... The other service workers were nice though

I was at the restaurant last Friday. The place is full and alive. The food for me was a disappointment. The guacamole only had onions and avocado (no cilantro, no tomato...) I also ordered the beef quesadillas. Although the meat was delicious, the cheese was poor quality and the quesadillas were drenched in oil, they were fried (never seen that in Mexico). And to top it off the waiter was really unfriendly, he even refused to take a photo of us. But I agree that the first waitress (Spanish speaking) who took our orders was friendly and attentive.

The atmosphere is very nice and the waiter is kind. As a starter: The civuche was cooked when it was supposed to be raw, the guacamole was nothing special and we have already had better elsewhere As a main course: the tacos are expensive, there are only 3 for around 28 chf even if it is very elaborate. For dessert: Popcorn ice cream and dolce de leche very good but the churros was very greasy and heavy and it looked like it was cooked with reused oil a little too long Drinks: the spritz was very good for 10 CHF but the glasses of wine served were not cold enough... For the dishes you have to take a lot because if we had only taken 3 tacos we would still have been very, very hungry. We give 4 stars for the atmosphere and the very elaborate tacos but 1 star less for the price and the rest of the starters and desserts are not crazy and the bill adds up very quickly.

We ate very well and had a wonderful evening at La Parada. Impeccable, warm and attentive service. The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. A very good atmosphere, I highly recommend.

Nice place but extremely noisy, you have to shout to hear yourself speak. We had the beef quesadillas; good but dry, it lacks a side dish (vegetables for example!). Not very worked for the price, and not very large portion either! For dessert, the churros were advertised as served with homemade chocolate ganache... but it was Nutella. We weren't even told about the change! Very disappointed. Maybe it's a good place for a drink, but the food is poor value for money.

I organized my husband's birthday there. There were around thirty of us and everything was very well organized. The group menu was great, the service efficient and the waiter was very friendly. Very good atmosphere

Positive point: good food, quite authentic and original, simple and relaxed atmosphere, friendly and smiling staff, original and well thought-out cocktails. Negative points: we have the impression that management is thinking of making money by any means possible. The cocktails are expensive and lack alcohol. Customer attention could be better. I organized my wife's birthday there by bringing 8 of our friends. We consumed for 800.- chf and the owner charged us for the cutlery for a small symbolic cake that I brought in order to be able to blow out the candles, 5.- per place setting (they did not have a desert which looks like a cake). Instead of enjoying the birthday I had to negotiate the price of the cutlery. I expected a small gesture from them knowing that we consumed a lot. It’s a shame, the policy is not about customer loyalty. I don't know if I will go back.

Frankly, only the smiles of the waiters were worth it. Bland food and a lot of fat in the meat and no side dishes... My burrito was bathed in oil... Only the sauce gave all the flavor. Trendy restaurant but it's not worth the reputation.

Very friendly and attentive servers. Good atmosphere. The cocktails were good, the food not bad. On the other hand, the prices are high compared to the quantities of food: 10.- for a mini guacamole and some chips / we only received 2 churros for 12.- (unfortunately they were not great, not as crispy and few taste). It would be nice to add a side dish with the tacos (for example, a salad or yuka fries, etc.), because the price is high for 3 tacos. And charging for carafes of water, even though we had a lot of alcoholic drinks, is a shame.

Finally, amazing tacos in Lausanne! A gem of a spot with a great vibe, super friendly staff, eclectic style and incredible food. Our favorites include the caesar salad - a must-try- shrimp tacos and corn ribs. Dog friendly and kid friendly too - it’s possible to ask for spicy sauces on the side 😄 A very cool place that is great for family time, or a night out with friends! If you’re looking for a new experience in town, look no further! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In the later hours of the evening you might even get a chance to dance a bit at the newest hot spot in town! 🙌🏼

Big disappointment. There’s nothing magical about mushroom quesedillas. I thought I had been served Plätzli Findus. Bland dishes and uninteresting execution and no responsiveness to comments. I won't go back there.

On vacation from Quebec! Wow! Great atmosphere! We were greeted by a nice lady at the entrance. The food reminded us of our trips to Mexico. A must-visit to taste South American cuisine in a festive atmosphere.

Nice place but the music is very loud The menu is limited, not much choice, especially for deserts. The drinks, nothing exceptional and there is no rosé We ordered a dish without any spice and never received it, the waitress offered a shot of tequila while waiting A salad with whole lettuce leaves and parmesan and sauce 12.- (ridiculous) First time I have seen such a small restaurant with a battalion of waiters trying to do well... Lack of professionalism The dishes are poorly or not seasoned Churros not cooked enough and tasted like salty old oil A big addition for very little pleasure.

Stumbled upon this absolute gem not far from Riponne - super fun vibes, really good cocktails, especially loved the the Birria Quesadillas! Would highly recommend.

So many gluten-free options, also the owner is celiac, we were two to eat there and both of us are celiacs. Didn’t have any problem afterwards, also the food was very good. Highly recommended. - A little throwback to the La Parada restaurant in Lausanne, it's Mexican cuisine with lots of gluten-free options and the owner is also celiac! I'm celiac, I ate there and, had no problems, and it was very good 😊

I love having a place like this in Lausanne. The food and cocktails are really good. It is the perfect place for dinner and drinks with friends, plus the music is the best, you won't resist sitting in the chair. The team is awesome, really attentive, friendly and always smiling, I have been living in Switzerland for 7 years and I really miss places with such attentive and detailed staff. A pleasure friends! I'll be back soon!

Nice atmosphere, super welcoming and attentive waiter. Good food but the big problem is mainly the quantity and the wait. A dish with 3 small quesadillas without any accompaniment (salad, vegetable or other). Too bad because there is potential but I don't think I'll go back despite the servers being more than attentive.

First time at the Parada at noon. Smiling and friendly staff. A very cool decor even if the atmosphere should be nicer in the evening. The dishes were abundant however I think the salad was super bland and contained 95% salad and 4 small pieces of tomato (see photo) one of the saddest salads I have ever eaten. However, I find it great that they offer a soup or salad with the dish. The mushroom quesadillas were bland despite the sauce. I think there is a lot of potential to improve the quality of the product. Want to try other dishes despite everything.

Finally made it to this place after months of salivating and it lived up to high taste bud expectation. Delicious cocktails, amazing food and service and it was buzzing. In January! Bravo Jasmine and team. Another gem on the Lausanne food map. We will be back.

The dishes are classics of South American cuisine, with a twist. It's very good! The cocktails are also among the best in Lausanne. As for the atmosphere, it will take you on a journey, in a good mood. A new must-have, worth discovering urgently if you like Mexican cuisine.

Really disappointed ! Price really too expensive for what I know. 12.- for 3 small churos? ! 16.- a margarita?! 12.- for 3 half ears of corn?! Seriously ??? In addition they advertise on their menu the different dishes which are spicy or not, so I take the one which is not spicy results almost impossible to eat so much that it's tearing! And finally we consumed 126.- worth of alcohol and they dare to charge us for 2 small carafes of water?? A real scandal In short, a restaurant that I would absolutely not recommend. I put one star for the servers who were correct.

I've been really hesitant to have Mexican food in Switzerland but my husband brought me and my friends here for my birthday celebration. Hands down the best Latin American food I've had in restaurant. In a word, wow. The vibe, food, flavours, service, drinks and incredibly inviting staff. We are currently scheming up more reasons to come eat here on a regular basis. Needless to say, we will be back, and often.

Bar pseudo Latino pseudo Mexican but above all American in the service and the customers it seems. Very expensive for quality or service. 12 balls for a churro (singular) cut into 4 and which smells of the fried chicken in which it was fried, it borders on abuse. The concept is cryptic: Mexican who doesn't say his name, but that's because he's not authentic. We try to be a little pan-Latino but it doesn't really work. No pisco sour on the menu, the maracuya sour is not well balanced between acidity and sugar, The saladito has an excess of pepper which makes it undrinkable especially combined with the salt and the slightly fecal character (dung) mezcal used. The waiters are nice but the orders take too long. The place is noisy due to lack of adequate echo treatment without being really festive. The latest trendy place in Lausanne but we will continue to go to Geneva to properly drink Latino cocktails or eat Mexican. Copy to review.

Went on Saturday evening and arrived a bit early but was seated right away. Vibe was just starting up around 20:00 so if you want to go and don't have a reservation certainly go earlier. Great space, love the decor with the ambiance. Service was super friendly and inviting. Food was fun, creative and delicious. Had the corn and chicken drumsticks (chicken is spicy so be warned for those sensitive palates), shrimp tacos and the short rib tacos (full of flavour). Loved the beverage offerings and lots of tequila or mezcal to pick from. Had a couple different cocktails and slightly too sweet but that was an easy fix (but we're definitely spirit forward 😊). Overall we had a great time and didn't want to leave. Keep with the vibes and fun music please.

We went there with my friends for a coffee early in the afternoon and we didn't try the food. The atmosphere is excellent. The place is very well-decorated. The staff was more or less polite but it took them some time to take our order (which is oddly normal in Switzerland). We ordered hot chocolate, which was the typical mug with milk where we had to pour and mix the ovomaltine powder. Ok, very basic, but still this is how they do it here. But the hot chocolate was served with almost cold milk. We ordered homemade lemonade with ginger, too. It was nothing special and the taste of ginger didn't exist. Since the atmosphere was so good I would try once more, this time the restaurant and it might give me a better opinion. Don't go there for a coffee though.
