La Romana in Genève

A very nice experience at the La Romana restaurant for my sister's 30th birthday. Attentive staff, very pleasant, very beautiful and well decorated place, very good food. I highly recommend!

The plates are very abundant, the prices are good for Geneva, the food is delicious, well prepared, especially the pasta, Caesar brings bacon, the central location within the area of ​​the Palace of Nations and the offices that are around it, very good and well-known.

Good pizzeria, fair price, perfect restaurant for midday lunch, but a little noisy if you want to have a business lunch

I had the bad experience of eating carbonara pasta. Inedible because they are really too salty. The error is excusable but it is difficult to understand that these are real Carbonara and therefore very salty. They didn't bother to taste them and just returned the comment to point out that in Italy it's like that 😲 All other restaurants would make fakes??? No questioning, it’s a shame.

We wanted to eat a good pizza and found ourselves in this establishment. Warm welcome, good service and delicious pizza, with a voucher recommended by the waiter! I will come back 😋

Many thanks for this wonderful birthday evening. The buffet was excellent and the servers were attentive. All the guests were happy. As a bonus, the Karaoke created a great atmosphere. A more than successful evening. Fantastic.

Very pleasant time in this restaurant where we ate very well!

Nice place, nice waiters, good dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. However, we waited about 40 minutes to be served, which was quite inconvenient during lunch, on a weekday, where time at hand is limited. We would have expected to be served more rapidly as we ordered pasta and a salad.

1st brunch ☺️ honestly amazed! Nothing was missing. From pastries to small and large savory dishes. Cheese skewers bruschettas parmiggiana pizza meatballs and small à la carte dishes eggs in every direction salmon snaké gnocchi à la sorentino fries with parmesan and truffle oil lasagna in two variations etc… a free piano atmosphere and a welcome always at the top . Superb New Year's Eve evening, pleasant staff, a bit of a wait between courses, but good authentic cuisine. We weren't able to taste the pizzas but will definitely come back.

We came in December as a family and everyone had a great time. We have rediscovered the flavors of Italy! Pleasant and smiling staff. I recommend without hesitation, we had a great time. The spaghetti carbonara was just... EXCELLENT.

I celebrated my 60th birthday and I was right to choose La Romana for this event! There were around forty of us who were all amazed by the excellent food in the form of a beautifully presented and very friendly aperitif dinner. The staff is always very pleasant and trustworthy. This Friday August 11, we had the spaghetti with mussels, half of the molds were empty, the other half were dry (reheated), the boss came, he told us that he was not in the molds in a mocking tone, and that we could leave, we paid the addition to the waitress, we are not profiteers. This way of responding is scandalous. We will never come back again.

We were around the United Nations UNHCR building in an evening out in Geneva and felt hungry. It was already passed 9 pm. There are not many restaurants in this area that still open after dark so finding one is quite challenging. The service was very good, friendly and warm. The ambiance was also nice. However the food is average. The bread was dry and tasteless. Even for us who were very hungry.

Very nice address where we shared an excellent dinner with friends. The classics are available on the menu to the delight of young and old alike. The staff are attentive and very helpful. I had a great birthday evening with the privatization of the karaoke room. We enjoyed some good food. If I had to say a small negative point it would perhaps be a small commercial gesture that was missing with all the food/drinks and coffee taken… Thank you again for the warm welcome!

We held a post conference dinner with 50 people at La Rómána restaurant, and the service, food, price was all fantastic. I don't know how Sabrina and her team managed to serve us all so efficiently, she even arranged a birthday firework for our colleague. 100% recommend this restaurant for real Italian food, and it is perfect for dinners after meetings in CICG or the UN.

Very beautiful place, superb decoration. Top notch food and service. Had gnocchi with beef meatballs, browned in the pizza oven, it was succulent. Large portion, divided with the rest for a meal the next day.

My after-work favourite with a great selection of past and pizza (Italian pizza from a real Italian oven). Staff are one of the most friendly that I have meet in Geneva and they speak French English and Italian (if not more than that). Beware the birds if you sit outside and not under an umbrella.

I went to this restaurant for an aperitif. All very good. We were about 15 people and a nice room was reserved for us. Great food and great service. The place is very nice and the staff professional and polite.

[New new Nov 9] Pizza prices have gone through the roof. Going to cost 30 chf for most pizzas and a water. I need a plan B. [New] New owners, complete renovation. I prefer previous decor over the 'modern' new look, especially for pizza. My first pizza was nice and will visit again. The pizza chef had Zero mask on and was working in the middle of the open restaurant, with the manager taking the time to berate him about plenty of other things. How or why? [Original] Five stars for pizzas. Nice toppings, very good crust, pretty thin but good n chewy. Plat du jour is also a solid option. Old school vibe, clean, friendly.

Restaurant full of glitter, but without quality. Bland, uninteresting food. No sense of service in the face of criticism; proposal to redo the dish with the same ingredients, what's the point if it's precisely the ingredients that are the problem? The old Romana was much better in terms of quality/price and the staff was much more humble and friendly.

I ordered a takeaway pizza, they got the topping wrong and when I returned to the restaurant they just removed the topping to put back the correct one, without recooking it or anything. So cold pizza and raw toppings!

I have known this restaurant for a long time, but had not thought to post a review since the change of owners. This restaurant is... KILLER! Excellent welcome by a warm team (even the cooks say hello!) The service is impeccable and the servers do not hesitate to suggest new things to you. When in doubt about which wine to choose, they let us taste what they have available to help us. The pizzas are delicious, the meat is cooked well and the pasta is fresh daily! A pure treat! I recommend!

The service is catastrophic! We were literally kicked out before the 1 p.m. service on the pretext that people had reservations at that time. The decoration is pretty, but the pizza is the worst I've eaten in Geneva. Salmon pizza, rubbery dough as possible, tasteless salmon. Chili oil of Polish origin with paprika and which has nothing spicy. The strange service, we were made to taste our wine in the middle of an aperitif which had just been served and at the same time they brought us the dishes during the aperitifs, this gives the feeling of being chased away. Fortunately the saltimbocca was very Good. Basically table time 7:30 p.m. end of service 8:04 p.m.! Really expensive compared to the disappointing quality.
