The Grand Hotel is getting old. The room for one person without breakfast (CHF 25) costs CHF 150 / night. The room is small. The windows are old, the room is plainly furnished. You won't find a socket next to your bed to charge your phone. The shower is small and does not correspond to my understanding of a 4* hotel. The high-priced breakfast buffet offers everything a continental breakfast should contain. Unfortunately the products, eggs, cheese, meat are from one of the large food distributors for hotels - Transgourmet or Saviva? In every 3* hotel from England to Crete, a fresher, more regional breakfast is offered, especially with products from the region, or at least home-made Rösti instead of deep-fried Röstigallettes from the frozen range. All in all, I think it's a disgrace to charge so much money and offer such poor quality. In my opinion, the Boas Hotel Group is only looking for profit without offering any appropriate compensation. In addition, as an individual you always pay a surcharge, which in my opinion is discriminatory. Suggestion for a single room of CHF 150 including breakfast and entry to the thermal bath - which cannot offer everything at the moment anyway.

The poor welcome and the lack of professionalism of the reception and the service of the brasserie restaurant in the evening. Arrival on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.: very discourteous woman, no smile, tells us that breakfast closes at 10:00 when it is 10:30, no indication of wifi, treatments, etc. Departure on Sunday around 12:15: young man bordering on arrogance, content to ask us to pay tourist taxes, no questions about the progress of our stay, he barely said goodbye to us. Catastrophic room service on Saturday evening, very long waiting time, problem with aperitifs, lukewarm cocktails and no commercial gesture. Absolutely not up to par with the other baths/spas we have experienced so far.

Arrived on site, I discovered that everything was under construction although nothing specified this on the site at the time of booking, we do not have access to all the baths even though I paid more than last year especially that we always choose this hotel, because the direct passage to the baths without getting cold especially with a 2 year old child was the key argument which made us come here every year, but that it was my surprise when I discovered that the access is only from the outside, no indoor swimming pool is available except at 8:30 p.m. because yes during the day it is reserved for physio. So we pay more to be able to swim for 10 minutes because my 2 year old son was frozen and had blue lips, not to mention that we still have to take him out of the water and dress him in the cold winter, hoping that he doesn't get sick so you might as well go to an indoor swimming pool it will be much cheaper and you won't risk getting sick when you get out of the water no point in coming back here especially with a child it will be our last time we will go from now on elsewhere very disappointed the least thing would have been to warn us.

Dear Mr. Matthias Philipps, If you respond to my review, please don't use the standard text you use for all reviews - it seems very cheap! It's a shame - but for me the Grand Hotel is only a 3-star hotel and the reasoning is as follows: The renovation was not mentioned in my email reservation; instead, all bathrooms, saunas, etc. are fully accessible. However, the CHF 50.00 reduction is stingy. Some unprofessional staff and barely speaking German. Check-in -> when I registered on site, the overnight stay and a flat rate of CHF 100.00 were charged to my credit card Room -> In need of renovation, very thin duvet, few German-language TV channels, cheap plastic chairs on the balcony. Bathroom -> plastic tooth glasses, toilet paper 2 or 3 layers, shower head should be decalcified. Restaurant-> draft - my girlfriend has a cold now!, some guests warmed themselves with a sweater over their backs and shoulders, the menu is not written in German, Ikea cups, no bread served with the salad, no spoon to ladle the mashed potatoes, Mashed potatoes tasted watery and artificial, the veal chop was very high in fat and little meat, the fries were fried for too long, the vegetables were delicious!, baked braids for breakfast. Bathrooms and provisional sauna -> too few options to store bathrobes and towels, provisional sauna too small and overcrowded in no time. Conclusion: the rooms were offered at an expensive price for years and yet no investment was made in a better customer experience.

Hello I have been going to the baths in Yverdon-les Bains for years, cleanliness and hygiene are essential for everyone but particularly for the pools and the changing rooms and they have never stopped improving, their room the food is very beautiful, restored you could believe you were in a castle, in all that for me, the food is very good, regarding the prices for everything there is meat and there are affordable prices. Disappointing experience with the rigidity of the reservation processes... I arrived for the night of 12/24 to 12/25 (Christmas evening) Having booked in advance online with a special room price (access to the thermal baths) and Christmas dinner. The website is not very user-friendly, I realize that my reservation includes a dinner for one person only, even though there are 2 of us!! Also quickly reported to the hotel before my arrival. During check-in, the receptionist (and her colleague), aware that the website is complicated to use, inform me that they will report the situation to their supervisor when they arrive the next day. At the same time I book the dinner for two people, with good hope of having a price with a commercial gesture the next day at check-out for payment, given that my initial reservation was made on the internet before my arrival and included a special price . The following day, 12/25 at check-out, the front desk manager is there, gives me the invoice with the full price to pay, without any commercial gesture to offer me to my GREAT astonishment. The expected gesture being a special rate for the second person for the Christmas dinner and therefore indirectly on the overall price to pay, not after having discussed at length and explained to the reception staff the day before, and with I underline the good will to find a solution from Anabelle (apprentice at the reception), but apparently the whole process is rigid, the manager has no choice but to make me pay the full price of the reservation, because "he doesn't has no control over prices, he says. So I pay the high price, and leave with enormous disappointment in the face of this rigidity of the staff. The fact of making me pay a full price even though my initial intention was good when booking. But who to contact when the staff is closed to any explanation? I am informed that an email will be sent to the hotel management to inform them of my situation and that they will contact me. I've been waiting ever since but nothing happens... Having done several baths in Switzerland and around the world, experiencing this situation is a first for me. I will not return to the grand hotel and thermal center Yverdon les Bains. Huge disappointment for a day that was supposed to be special in the year.

The hotel and wellness area are getting old and in need of renovation. Both the prices for overnight stays and the prices in the restaurant are overpriced. Unfriendly and indifferent staff. Feedback and complaints are responded to with a lack of emotion. Apparently you're already used to it and don't want to change anything. Be careful, children's swimming courses also take place in the hotel's own wellness area. My stay in your establishment was the first and will be the last, not friendly staff, very limited service, we arrived from Geneva around 1 p.m. and we were told that the room would be ready around 3 p.m. and we asked if we could take advantage of the swimming pool in the meantime, it was refused unless we paid 15CH per person, it was really regrettable, we reserved a room on the internet with breakfast and access to the baths obviously except that on site we were not entitled to either the hammam or in the sauna otherwise you had to pay 24CH per person, the layout of the hotel is very old, bad bedding it must be a 2 star but certainly not 4 stars I advise against it.

Experience of a family of 5 people for 2 rooms reserved, one standard and one superior. Good points : - Very warm and professional welcome from Nicole, and the staff in general. - Excellent breakfast. - check-out at noon and possibility of enjoying the baths the rest of the day once check-out has been completed. Negative points : - the rooms are so old and the decoration is hopeless, not up to the standard of a 4 star or the standard of the building. - Very average bedding. - tiny bathroom with a shower curtain (4 stars!). - - The toilets are in the bathrooms, next to the bathtub. - The curtains from another age are too narrow and do not cover either of the 2 windows once drawn for the night. - No notable difference between the standard room and the superior room... - Few massage jets and other bubbles in the pools. We had an experience this summer at the Saillon baths (also 4 stars), unfortunately it cannot be compared with your establishment. Damage.

Our stay in this hotel leaves us perplexed. The infrastructure is good, the room is spacious and the breakfast is very good. But the value for money leaves something to be desired, especially for customer service in the restaurant in the evening, which is unacceptable for a 4 star+! When we asked the waitress what wine she could recommend to us, her response was "I don't know, I don't drink wine" and without offering to ask one of her colleagues... Then we asked for bread to accompany my meat and my wife also to accompany her salmon tartare and the waitress replies "we don't give bread with the salmon tartare there are already the toasts" no but sorry??!!! My wife worked for 10 years in the luxury hotel industry in Geneva and clearly these two answers will be used in the training of future hoteliers like NOT TO DO so as not to lose customers and turnover!! Should I remind you that for 1 unhappy customer, 1500 others are aware of their experience?! It's a shame and clearly the training of employees needs to be reviewed...

On arrival at the hotel, excellent support from Nicole, efficient and precise in her explanations. The reserved junior suite is dated, tiny and a little dark. No air conditioning, stifling heat during the night, mattress a little too firm, very hard bolsters. The suite is a maximum of 20 to 24 m2, while it is advertised between 42 and 46 m2. Bedroom of approximately 10 to 12 m2, the bed takes up almost all the space, the microscopic living room measures approximately 8m2. No relation to the room shown on the hotel website. It's a scam, pure and simple, if not a scam... How can the hotel maintain its 4 stars? If the bedside lamps are plugged in, there is no room for another device. 32-inch television, so tiny, half hidden by the bedroom door which otherwise gets stuck once closed. Worn and stained carpet, furniture from another age, 1 window cannot be opened. The toilets are so small that it is impossible to close the door. Free Wi-Fi with a speed of 28 Mbps. Separate bathroom, clean. A child's bed has been provided in the small living room, however no bathrobe or sandals for children. The Thermal Center is pleasant, but nothing is provided for small children. In the restaurant, the staff is rude, smug and grumbling loudly and intelligibly. Disorganized service, 2 hours 20 minutes of waiting in total, it's way too long, especially for children. It took 4 receipts before getting the correct count. The price on the first ticket was 2.6 times more expensive than the last one. The room manager laughs and replies that he has plenty of time! In short, early departure after less than 1 day of a stay unworthy of a hotel of this category. Last remark from the reception manager following my decision to leave the hotel: “I didn’t measure the room”! I demanded an immediate refund for my stay and got it immediately. And that day, I was obviously not the only one in this situation... The 4 stars of this hotel seemed very dull to me...

The hotel is already getting a bit old. Signs of aging are visible in many places, but this also exudes a certain charm. The staff is very friendly, but doesn't speak German. Conversations are only possible in French or English. All written information about the hotel is also available in German. It's a bit annoying that the electricity in the rooms only works when you insert the "room card". This can also be avoided with a Cumulus or other points card. Quite disappointed by the entire hotel which claims to be a 4 star, the 4th star of which is not justified. Many hotels in Germany and Austria are 10 times more beautiful and well decorated without being 4 stars! Room ok, clean but quite dated. Meal prices taken at La Coupole are exorbitant for the result on the plate which does not live up to the standard of the establishment. Good points : Very kind and professional staff. The direct access to the thermal baths included in the room rate was very appreciable. Excellent buffet breakfast.

Questionable why this hotel should have received its 4 stars. The staff is nice. But that is all. The hotel itself looks worn, the rooms are completely outdated, without charm, not renovated since the 1980s. The TV is a cheap set that is probably 12 years old. The room did not even have a minibar. 2 of the 3 listed restaurants were closed (at the end of June, which can no longer be called low season). Accordingly, the hotel is almost exclusively frequented by old people.

The thermal baths, baths and bars by the pool, the spacious rooms with top amenities, everything is very nice and very well maintained! Security is also well organized: When there was a thunderstorm, we were kindly taken out of the pool before the lightning started over our heads. There were six of us and everyone enjoyed the food excellently! Afterwards we went to the bar, where a professional served us: Ghassen Achek the barman read our wishes from our eyes and showed us new drinks that I didn't know. All very reasonably priced, and when you add in the piano playing in the bar, rather cheap for this class of entertainment experience. A well-rounded affair, and if I lived here, I would be here regularly in the thermal baths, the restaurant and at the bar!

Unfortunately the name Grand Hotel doesn't live up to its promise. Both the hotel and spa are getting old and are in urgent need of renovation. We had a room on the top floor of the new building (in summer). It was unbearably hot (and I was also heavily pregnant). It was really an imposition. We had to sleep with the window open, but there was noise from the street (traffic) all night long. You can imagine that we didn't have an incredibly relaxing stay. Luckily it was only a few days. We sometimes waited forever at reception until it was our turn. This should definitely be improved. Unfortunately, the spa was more reminiscent of a fun pool - not very relaxing. Overall, a rather sobering stay.

Very disapointed. General condition of the hotel is very dated. Unbearable noise of machinery all night in the room + electrical noise (not sleeping all night). Service at the bar by a very young waiter who brought me a Hugo instead of the Mojito (which he apparently didn't know how to make) and when paying, he told me that my room card was deactivated even though it was was false. I found it very unpleasant in front of other customers.

Top hotel, Baden sensational, rooms very nice. a few rooms still have fitted carpets. My wife has some dust problems. Not without a carpet. Restaurant 90% of the service is great, thank you. But 10% behave as if they were paying us their wages. They act like we should be happy to be sitting there! Our request to the hotel management. Find out what customers like! Revised a few places in the hotel. But please don't invest millions and change the beautiful, unique atmosphere of the hotel. Even the old handle together with the new one such as lift etc. fits! I think with little money and just small adjustments you could become a hub in French-speaking Switzerland, if you aren't already! In any case, we are very happy to be with you. Not up to the standards of all the 4 stars I have visited in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Holland... etc. I don't want to go on and write a long text... just typical of the hotel industry in Switzerland, we relax in the place, without going to any trouble! If you want to go back 30 years, go for it, the rooms are from the period... Book a 4-star hotel and stay in a youth hostel. From the Ikea cup at the breakfast buffet, the mediocre hamburger in the so-called gourmet restaurant, the camp beds in the room to the dingy and sometimes unhygienic bathroom and SPA - it was anything but a 4-star experience and simply disappointing. Only the staff was friendly. This management could be accused of fraud, to say the least. It was a maximum of a 3 star hotel. We were there for the first and last time.

What a desappointment ! Where is the greatness and the fact that I had heard about when I was younger. Room that is aging and deserves a facelift. The service is not even worthy of a 3 star when supposedly a 4 star. And the meal shows do not enter is not one. 4 girls doing 4 passages of 3 to 4 minutes to 20s music in costume does not mean a spectacle. In addition, the price of the meal is not justified.

Time-honored hotel with some flaws. Positive (=4 stars): Superior room, beds comfortable, except for the pillows that are much too thick and hard, cleanliness very good, staff very nice, breakfast buffet clear but very fresh, dinner in the small hall was fine (make a reservation, otherwise no one Place). BUT negative (= unfortunately max. 2 stars): Time-honored hotel, in need of renovation here and there. Dining room looks like a train station buffet, cold, lacks cosiness, and there is a draft through the windows (they were dirty), very loud because of the many children... The separate pool (only for hotel guests) doesn't invite you to linger, seems bare and grubby. The official thermal baths: completely overcrowded, atmosphere like in a barracks and just as run down, in the SPA area (2nd floor), a little quieter, but unfortunately the same feeling. Nothing comfortable, not enough loungers, hammam (40 degrees) for women was good, I found the other 2 saunas (70 and 90 degrees) to be old and dingy, very uncomfortable when 9 people sit close together... we wanted to wellness and relax , instead we literally fled into the room, you don't pay that much for that... Conclusion: Overnight stay, breakfast and dinner ok, but too expensive for what is on offer because: the entire wellness offer needs to be renovated, that is by no means equivalent to 4 stars, in short: the bathrooms and SPA area disgusted us!!! Stay overnight, yes, but definitely never again as a wellness hotel...

Pretty outdated hotel with a public thermal bath. The hotel was probably renovated in the early 90s and looks accordingly. It's a total shame because the old building used to be beautiful but was pretty much ruined by the new building. With the name Grand Hotel and the 4 stars you definitely expect more. The rooms are borderline in need of renovation. However, spacious and clean. The thermal bath is definitely in need of renovation. There are some places that look really dingy and you don't want to sit down. The pool was completely overcrowded at the time of our visit and even in the Espace Detente, where there were no children, people were sitting shoulder to shoulder in the Jacuzzi and sauna. Fewer people, warm lighting, soft music, perhaps candles and a relaxation room with tea and nuts would work wonders. The hotel's own thermal pool looks like a swimming pool, is very dirty and doesn't invite you to linger at all. Based on these impressions we decided to eat out. So I can't judge the hotel's own restaurant. The breakfast buffet is good and has everything you would expect. The breakfast room is in the beautiful, old hotel building and invites you to relax and unwind. As long as the hotel is not renovated (as announced in 2020), we will not come back and will not recommend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel imposes itself when you arrive. Warm welcome, you have access to the swimming pool and the thermal center but not necessarily to the sauna and hamam, book directly, you will have access. The thermal center closes at 8 p.m. and the sauna/hammam on the 2nd floor at 7:30 p.m. The rooms, on the other hand, are shabby and a little dated although very clean. The brasserie presents classics at local restaurant prices. Copious and varied continental breakfast.

First impression was very Nice. The receptionist Walter, who accomodated us was very kind and helpful, while speaking a Lot of languages. But Unfortunately, This hotel would need a bit more care. The tables in the bar havent been cleaned, the building would need to clean around and renovate a few things. We havent been accepted for dinner, we have been told it´s full, even If we saw a few free tables there. But we had an amazing food at the neighbouring Hotel La Prairie, which i recommend to visit for dinner. Despite of these things we enjoyed our stay, the rooms have been clean, and comfortable. P.S. Do not skip the hotel pool while your stay, was definetly the best from all of them in thermal centre.

I honestly think that the quality exceeds for what you pay. Yes the rooms are not super advanced or new, but they have done a lot of effort to keep the venue's original character yet modernise it a bit. We had food at the bar, the burgers are worth it! It is kids and newborn friendly, they even provided a little bed for our daughter of 6 months. Breakfast is worth it too, lovely breakfast room, spacious and there is even a play room for kids within it. The spa is interconnected and you can enter simply with your bath robe from the room to the spa - great convenience! If you want to book a massage, make sure to book in advance, the spots get booked up. The spa itself is ok, not super powerful hydromassage plus super packed during the weekend. I would surely go back!

Honestly a little disappointed. The expected “standing” is not there. Grand Hôtel des Bains, 4 stars... mixed results on the 4 stars and the term Grand. Aging rooms (doors with paint loss on the bottoms), excellent breakfast, the rest of the meals do not deserve 4 stars in my opinion. Meat cooking not correct At the evening buffet, the pasta was cold, no time to breathe before collecting the cutlery, no time to make a second course. Prices at the bar overrated. 10.- 5dl of white Grimbergen... 35.- 75dl of Deus... really? There are premium craft beers for much less. Lots of comments certainly... the reception was good but image/price/result ratio not adequate.

Little romantic weekend at the baths! Beautiful hotel, a little dated but charming! Access to the bathroom with the bedroom is nice! We advise you to take access to the relaxation area where there is the sauna, hammam and a Japanese pool (warmer) there are fewer people and it feels good... The breakfast buffet is really good, very varied! We love ! And the proximity to the city is great! On the other hand, we like the spring mattresses, the view and the noise of the road a little less (on the side where our room was...)

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had dinner once at La Rotonde. My friend had a vegetarian dish with aubergine and quinoa and I had a fish dish, both were very tasty. The service and the atmosphere was good and not as old fashioned as I thought it would be. I think we would have eaten again there, if it wasnt that pricey (especially the wine).On a small personal note: French is my mother tongue, and so I found it a bit annoying that the waitress spoke in swiss german to me. Probably it was because I was travelling with a german friend
