La Terrazza in Luzern

Unfortunately, spaghetti was so far from al dente and after a complaint it was served exactly the same again. This has nothing to do with an Italian restaurant. Once and never again. Staff employee was at least friendly.

Very good restaurant but on the pizzas is some tomato sauce missing but still not bad BUT the 0.5L water is 8CHF which is very expensive

We ordered Pasta Carbonara, pasta frutti di mare, and their red wine. The food and wine were really good, and the portions were generous. The prices are high but reasonable compared to other nearby restaurants. However, the water is priced at 8 CHF, which I find quite high, even considering we are in Switzerland and they don’t have tap watter

Wonderful food and great service! The employee who served us was super respectful and polite. We came back more than once! I recommend the lasagna.

We were there before 6pm and our order was forgotten for 90 minutes. None of the employees noticed! It's very noisy. The staff at the buffet rumble and rumble around as if they were busy on a construction site, the guests don't notice them at all and they constantly argue with each other in Albanian. We were offered dessert, but in order to be able to pay at the end we had to stress the staff again, our public transport connections in different directions only run every hour and we didn't want to miss them again. For such a restaurant in this location, it was very disappointing.

The location is great, food is very good, reasonable prices.

Menu but more than half of it is not available... Service should learn German as we are in Switzerland Italian restaurant but no mention of Italy is still understandable since no Italians were present.... "Italian" restaurant but no Tratirionelle food on offer. Not even pizza margarita, spagetti al ragu, buffala was not available on the menu but prices were not adjusted because many products were not available. Would not recommend this so-called Italian restaurant. For me it wasn't worth a star. The coffee machine had already been turned off even though guests were still eating. Afterwards, I was given a voucher for 1 coffee on my next visit. Thank you very much, I won't be going there again. Greetings Daniela Baggieri

I've never had such a bad Italian restaurant as la Terrazza!!! There was no traditional Italian food, the prices were overpriced because many products were not available and the full price was charged The restaurant is not recommended and is not worth a star

After so many very good restaurant experiences during our European holiday, the La Terrazza regrettably delivered our worst experience by far for what should have been a celebratory New Year’s Day dinner. The first off-note was being presented only with the so-called “festival” food menu which had a far more limited range of dishes than the normal menu and at significantly inflated prices. The second off-note was the waiter providing us with only the expensive bottled wine list leaving us to inquire about the availability of wine by the glass, beer and soft drink. It was only when my daughter queried a drink the waiter had promoted to her because “young people like it”, that he briefly showed her the other drinks menu. The third off-note was the quality of the food vis a vis price – we all had the same pasta dish with salmon and shrimp. It was thoroughly unremarkable – something you could readily cook at home and with more salmon and shrimp filling than at La Terrazza. That might have been okay if it had been moderately priced but at 35.50 CHF, it was seriously over-priced. The fourth off-note was finding – as other reviewers have discovered – that we would be charged 5 CHF for a carafe of tap water. I have never encountered such an outrageous request in many years of dining out. At least the waiter then agreed to our request to a couple of glasses of water for no charge. The final off-note was the waiter’s “suggestion” when we paid the bill that we consider adding a tip and the ultra-curt “thanks, bye” when I declined. The best part of the night was when we left.

I was in this restaurant some time ago. At that time I was relatively satisfied and the food was good. But on my last visit I was extremely disappointed. I paid 110 francs for 3 pizzas and 3 drinks. A 30cl Cola costs 7 francs. And a pizza costs 30 Fr. The dough was extremely thin and they didn't have the ingredients for the pizza I ordered. The service was rather unfriendly. The only good thing is the beautiful view, but it's of no use to me if the food doesn't taste good.

Worst service ever. Don't waste your money here. There are many better options around. Service took more than an hour for a pizza. The pasta has not taste.

After the pizza was so salty that it was almost inedible, the prices made me upset, 7.00 for 3 dl of cola is simply cheeky. Who else wants coffee?

I have to tell you, this restaurant is amazing! The food is simply amazing. I couldn't get enough of their delicious dishes. Furthermore, the atmosphere is totally cozy and inviting. The service was super friendly and took really good care of us. So, if you want to go out for a really tasty meal, head to the La Terrazza restaurant!

Bad service, long waiting time, unfriendly, overpriced for what you get

Had the chicken dish with the mushroom sauce and pasta, so good. I also ate apple pie, I would say pricy but at least the food is really good and the portion too. ( bring your own water it’s $8 for water there) glad I ate there, tasty!

We spent lunch on the beautiful terrace. The pizza was ok, the pasta was rather emotionless. “Saving” is probably the focus. The drink prices are exorbitant. Fr 7.00 for a cola, Fr. 5.00 for an espresso🤔

Food is pricy but good quality. The pizzas are great! With generous toppings so worth the price. Its more of a treat to go there (not affordable on a daily base)

Attracts tourists due to its location. This is not an Italian restaurant…. It's not good at all. Disgusting tartare and frozen carpaccio. Very expensive for what it is.

We were in Lucerne and chose the beautiful restaurant right on the Reuss. The staff was totally absent and almost unfriendly! Unfortunately the food was very poorly prepared. With the Caesar salad you had to look for the chicken breast, there were only a few small pieces in it!😭 Last but not least, we wanted to pay with the lunch carte, but that wasn't possible, even though the restaurant is a partner! Hopefully you will take this seriously to improve the service.

The restaurant is in a very nice location, but the food wasn't good at all. Price performance is very questionable!!! For a pizza 30 fr. The dough was tough and the size left a lot to be desired. I definitely won't recommend this! The only bright spot was the service. She put in a lot of effort.

Service was very poor and we felt very uncomfortable. The location was nice though. Had a pizza which was ok, but also ordered an arrabiata which was real sub-par and came without the fresh basil listed on the menu. If a dish has only 4 ingredients on the menu, failing to include one of them really brings it down a lot. In the ended was just overpriced pene with tomato sauce and chili.... overall would recommend eating somewhere just across the river

Unfortunately we visited this restaurant on Saturday. We had to wait 45 minutes for the starter. A family behind us received their food after 30 minutes even though they arrived 15 minutes after us. Waited 1 hour for our food. And honestly, I expect more for this price. Pizza was quite greasy and the waiter wasn't very friendly. The rush was over, so it was incomprehensible. And Fr. 6.- for a 3dl iced tea is excessive. Single roof is a shame and not recommended. Were there about 2 years ago and it hasn't improved.

We got two pizzas as soon as we arrived in Switzerland. High prices but we were aware. But discovering that, if you pay in cash, they steal the Swiss franc/euro exchange rate is a bit "endearing". Alright. Tip: check the total carefully.

Tourist trap, beautiful location on the water, food terrible both in terms of appearance and taste, service boring to unfriendly and certainly deliberately didn't ask if it was tasty...

The food is bland at best and a hazard at worst. I haven’t had a more disgusting meal anywhere in the world. Just come here for drinks and the view. My Vongole was watery and the clams were covered in thick black sand… The staff refunded the dish, but took no other action to acknowledge the fact that I was served, and eating, a dish that quite literally was not suitable for human consumption. My beer wasn’t even comped. I asked to speak to the manager and she never appeared. A picture is worth a thousand words. Stay away.

One star is already too many! We wanted to have lunch there but never got around to it because we left straight away. Had a 7 month old baby with us. I had his porridge with me and politely asked if they could warm it up for a moment. It's not a big deal. The waiter didn't think for a second and immediately said "No, we won't do it". I couldn't believe it so I asked again and said the child has to eat something. And he answered "No" again. I've never experienced anything like this before, where a child is refused food!!!! In addition, the tables were dirty and there was bird cocoa on the chairs. So never again! And I won't recommend it because the waiter was very unfriendly.

The place is really very nice and that's why I find it a shame to spoil it with such a disappointing meal and service. I came with my boyfriend, we had two traditional Italian dishes (pizza margheritta buffala, spaghetti al pomodoro) and for my part I would rather call spaghetti al pomodoro oil because my pasta was bathed in olive oil .. Without forgetting the price of 25.- for my dish. The pizza was OK but not much value for money given that it was also 25.-... In addition we waited 40 minutes to be served which is not necessarily necessary for this type of dish. The service is not very welcoming and quite unfriendly. In short, avoid because for a city as pretty as Lucerne, there may be much better places to eat.

ATTENTION: don't go here! It's a shame how this beautiful restaurant has developed, it seems to have changed tenants. We were regular guests until 5 years ago, but were now back and simply speechless. The tablecloths are no longer available, just massive paper coasters and napkins. The toilets were completely dirty and the faucet didn't work. Ordered the same pizza twice, mine was topped with slices of raw ham which were not edible and it was swimming in oil. When I complained they said they would bring a new one, which is what I expected. The pizza was taken away, the stale ham was replaced with new one and returned after 10 minutes. There was no new pizza, which I had never experienced before, so I was allowed to eat it cold. The children didn't eat their pizza, the "cheese" was some industrial mush. For 28.50 per pizza you can at least expect mozzarella. The knives were not sharp and you could hardly cut the pizzas with them. Drinks were also warm and not cold. After paying we also told the waiter, he didn't care. If we said we'd never come back like that, he didn't care. Outside I first saw that everything was labeled in Arabic, a classic case of ripping off tourists, they won't come back either way, so you can exclude them. I am really disappointed with what has become of this beautiful and previously absolutely excellent restaurant. Rarely have I been so sorry about spending money. Absolutely the worst experience in Lucerne, I can only advise everyone to avoid this “restarant”.

Very nice location directly on the banks of the Reuss. But the kitchen is more like a mediocre canteen, the service staff leaves a lot to be desired (I ordered Tagliatelle Mare e Monti and got Spagetti Frutti di Mare). The toilet needed a proper cleaning again. The prices charged do not correspond in any way to the services provided

The restaurant is located directly on the Reuss in the old town not far from the Kappel Bridge. There's nothing wrong with the location. The food, however, was pretty poor for a rather high-priced restaurant. There were six of us and we all ordered different menus. Of the six, only my porcini mushroom ravioli were somewhat ok. The Diavola pizza didn't look great visually and didn't taste good either. The spaghetti a la frutta di mare was a disaster. The spaghetti was literally swimming in water and had hardly any taste. They have been returned. The new ones came with less water but otherwise exactly the same. They probably just dumped the water in the kitchen. Just add a few mussels on top and some arugula on top and you're good. No, not. The tomato soup didn't taste good either, it was bland and had no kick. The penne was also bland. My daughter poured the sauce from my ravioli, half a bowl of parmesan and chili oil over it to give it a little more flavor. Finally, tagliatelle with beef cubes and whiskey sauce. They were ok according to my taste but no trace of whiskey and no other power either. So if every person at the table could give one point, it would be 0.5 out of 6 possible points.

Food was satisfactory. Service was very friendly, only downside was the boss (we assume he is the boss) who came in and quite loudly and rudely told his staff to clean the (to our eyes clean) floor. He kept an eye on everything but seemed to only see the negative which for the tables closest to the register was uncomfortable.

Very dissatisfied. We didn't like the food at all and the feedback wasn't taken seriously. It was far too expensive considering the price/performance ratio. The waiter wasn't attentive either and we always had to call whoever we wanted. We were also placed on wet chairs that had not been wiped off from the previous day. NOT recommended!

The pizza tasted like it came from a kebab shop around the corner... This had nothing to do with the "la dolce vita" pizza that you would expect from an Italian. You could also think that you had ordered pure fat. Another glaring negative point is that you had to wait about 1 hour 30 minutes for this, I quote, "snack bar pizza" because the chefs might have had a little too much wine. I couldn't explain this delay any other way. I advise EVERYONE to avoid this restaurant. However, if I want to go out for a drink, it's still very pleasant by the water. You then only wait 30 minutes for your drinks

The place overlooks the lake There are two options for seating, outside or inside We received two very respectable people, and we knew after calculation that they were Muslims ♥️ The food is beautiful, the service is excellent Until a situation occurred at the account due to the currency transfer, my card was rejected. He respectfully lowered his voice and told me that the card had no balance out of fear for our feelings. Nice reaction.. Repeat the experience 👍🏻♥️

Almost good food, terrible service and in a very bad way, more than an hour to prepare a pizza and serve a hot beer. As for the environment, nice view but it is not worth it with the poor treatment of the staff.

Seeing the ups and downs of the reviews seems to indicate that it is much more of a personal experience. Be patient and kind and you will find this to be a good experience.

Great location. The food tastes great too, no question about it. But when you wait over an hour for a pizza and pasta, something is wrong. That is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination.

The view is the only reason why you should go here. The waiters are kind but the food is a major disappointment - only things that don't taste bad are pizza/pasta because you can't get those wrong..

The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing! You’d get the best pictures at the outdoor seating where you’d be right by the Lacerne lake, with the best views all around the lake and of Lacerne’s famous chapel bridge and water tower! Inside you’d get a romantic ambiance within one of Lacerne’s old town buildings. Definitely make a stop at La Terrazza!

Clumsy, unfriendly, incompetent staff, borderline inedible meals, detestable food quality. We asked for spices (they don't have any 😳) the salad starters were served at the same time as the dishes,... in short, this restaurant was a disaster. I give one star just because the setting is very pretty and the place warm.

Service is great, the staff is very professional, and the view is amazing. We had an issue with one of the meals we asked for, the brought the wrong one, but they fixed it quickly, I have no complains about that. Overall it is a great choice to have a meal and spend a good time. I also must say they are pricey, but the food make it up to the standards.

The restaurant is beautifully located on the Reuss! Unfortunately furniture like in a take away! The staff hardly speaks any or only very broken German! Wine list extremely poor. No years, no description! The pizza dough was super bad!!!! Tagliatelle al Limone con Pollo was…. The polet strips were cubes and inedible! Our table reservation was not made! I think the landlord has no idea how to run a restaurant properly!!! The tourists are on his side. They only come once anyway so why bother! As long as this leadership continues like this, we will never come back! The historic architecture would be beautiful.

Very nice location right on the water and a very good and friendly young waiter. Of course that has its price. Pizza 25 Swiss francs, pasta the same. Be sure to pay in Swiss francs, 81 Swiss francs is about €83 and not €95 as desired. Please be careful with this.

The food was ok. My ravioli were decent but the pizza wasn't. The worst was the service. We had to wait a long time, the staff wasn't attentive and didn't appreciate our stay.

The staff was nice, but the food was not edible. The mozzarella was clearly expired and the rest was tasteless. At least there was a refund for the court.

Food with a view makes you spew. By far the worst eating experience we have had in Switzerland. Avoid this place at all cost. The terrace is delightful but the food is appalling.
