Mashida in Luzern

We wanted to have lunch at this restaurant, but our son (7 years old) ran in first and wanted to go to the toilet and wash his hands. They didn’t let him in, he said that he was not a guest of the restaurant! Naturally we chose another place :((((

Unfortunately, the tables were dirty, the teriyaki had three pieces of meat in it and the lady behind the counter seemed irritated from the start. The price of 23.9 CHF was also too high.

Pretty average ramen. My chicken cutlet was very dry, one piece of broccoli and rest udon noodles in a salty beef broth. Expensive for what it is. Seating is too crowded between the various tables. Not a memorable meal , well only for the fact I wouldn’t return.

Owner was rude and unfriendly. We paid for 1Euro instant noodle from aldi 17 chf in this place. Ingredients were different from photos. It is a scam! Do not go there!

No service, no greeting, generally a rather negative attitude from the staff. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit.

I didn't like it. Not for the food, not for the price, not for the service. I needed something warm on a very cold day and this helped, but not much else. The food is not bad (not extraordinary either), but excessively expensive.

If you are missing Korean food, then give it a go. I had Japche - the noodle tastes good and authentic, not crazy about the salad that’s in the same bowl, they are better in a separate plate. Second time there, I tried Ramen Goyza - the portion is too small, it tastes good cause instant noodle really doesn’t go wrong. The place is mostly self serve, you order upfront, you pick up when ready, cutlery is on the side table.

Instant Korean ramen served or the same type of quality. Not real ramen experience and definitely over priced. Avoid at all cost.

Low quality food. We ordered ramen with dumplings for 16.30 francs and it tasted like instant noodles. I don't recommend this resto at all.

Unfortunately the food doesn't taste Japanese at all. It is prepared relatively carelessly. It was also a difficult experience from a hygienic point of view. The cook touched a dead bird and continued cooking with the same gloves.

We stopped in for a quick bite and it was great. No complaints didn’t eat much but quick and good.

Apparently the schnitzel was burnt., inedible... very disappointed. Tastes very bland no longer like it used to

Ask for the spicy original ramen. It's Shin Ramyun, but if you order it, they serve it with soy sauce. I changed it to spicy and it was delicious. If the owner is Korean, please create a manual so that customers can make choices. Soy sauce ramen really crosses the line. And the overall food is close to fusion Japanese cuisine.

It was better there a year ago, but recently the portions are getting smaller and smaller and so are the deposits, but the prices are getting higher and higher. What a disgrace the chicken kebabs are ridiculously extra small and the rice is becoming less and less. In addition, there are only 4 small, thin strips of chicken in the soup. Shameless and unprofessional!

Ordered chicken teriyaki as we lured by the picture where the chicken should be katsu/deep fried. What came was just simple sauteed chicken. Post this so other people dont have to fall to the scam. :(

The japchae rice was delicious, good for a meal in expensive Switzerland.

Food itself used to taste great, but not anymore. I was there last time and got chicken meat from yesterday. I pointed it out and he just said: no. You used to get something for 15 francs that costs 20 today (a year ago). No hospitality, small portions and the food is now also bad.

I paid 17.00 for some ramen, and all I got was just a tiny bowl of instant noodle. Such a ripoff! I got scammed! The bowl was so small that you won’t get enough food. Do not go there if you don’t want to get scammed. I have warned you here, you won’t feel regret.

Not a fan: somewhat expensive, not super high quality, and definitely not authentic. I got the Japchae gyoza, but the best thing about this dish were the two small gyoza on top. Those were tasty and well cooked. The sweet potato noodles were okay too, but there was an abysmal quantity of "stir-fry" veggies: a tiny piece of pepper, a minuscule broccoli floret and two slices of zucchini. On top of the noodles, there was also salad with salad dressing that ended up mixing with the noodles sauce... not the best experience! I would refrain from serving salad with dressing and instead opt for more stir-fry veggies. On the bright side, the location is super central, and I think it works well for a quick takeaway dish.

I arrived famished at Mashida, and without waiting too long, I got an affordable, hot meal. It went down great with a cold Asahi. I enjoyed a moment of rest after sightseeing for the whole day, used their clean bathroom, and exchanged smiles when thanking for the meal. Mashida has a vibe of kindness and simplicity about it, and that’s what made my visit here a fond memory.

I don't think they sell Korean food. The owner is very blunt and the price is expensive. Prague "MATZIP" is Korean style

6/10 Staff is nice, you get your Food quickly. Great if you are in a hurry The Food is good, i can recommad beef Teryaki. The Gyoza, Takoyaki and Ramen are 5/10. Yes the just from the frezzer but what did you expect from such a small Take-away.

A place to take out or simply eat in the store. A place that mainly sells ramen and udon. It is run by Koreans.

We ordered vegetable ramen , dumpling ramen and udon. All are salty and very few vegetable not like the showing photos. We did not want to complain, it may ruin our holiday more so prefer to use Google review as a weapon for bad services.

Coule have made the ramen at home. They literally use instant ramen package. Still very tasty

The positive sides of this restaurant is that the waiters are friendly and professional and the amount of food they serve is big. The location was nice and clean. But the food was way too expensive and not good. I've been there with a Japanese person and they said the food was disappointing.

Beef Teriyaki is not Teriyaki sauce, too salt and too much sauce.Udon Kutsu is not good taste too like as instant Kutsu it's not fresh

Food tasted terrible here. Ramen is just instant noodles from the shop marked up to 12 francs. The menu picture shows slices of tofu, but it doesn't come with it. When I asked the waiter, he said it's just a photo. The chicken teriyaki had dry chicken with rice drenched in salty soy sauce. The udon in the udon katsu was decent, but the chicken katsu was not good. Over breaded powdered taste with a thin slice of dried chicken. Avoid this place, unless you're starving and just need some food fast.

I ordered ramen and received a plastic bag full of soup and melted plastic. An absolute no go!

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Lucerne. If you like Asian, you will love Mashida. The tofu teriyaki has been our favorite for years. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Can be eaten as takeaway, via Uber Eats or on site. We each bring all our friends to Mashida to share the experience.

Was there with a friend and had soup with veg. Ordered dumplings. The 2nd one, however, was with meat. I reported it and was told off that it wasn't the case. I let my girlfriend try it, you could clearly see the "pieces of meat", I went back and showed them. I was rejected again. I left my soup there to be cleared away. This is lousy service, mistakes happen, but then the question is still how to deal with it. No money back, no replacement, nothing! This is how errors are dealt with here. It could be that something was wrongly admitted, no problem, but it's just not possible to make me look stupid. Someone who clearly asks if veg when ordering. It is possible and it is answered in the affirmative, then pieces of meat are found, shown and played for a fool and no attempt is even made to mitigate the damage.. a no-go!

So delicious and price is suitable dish for this area.

Very bad dining experience! I wanted to order a bowl of ramen but it turned out to be instant noodles...and it was so expensive...I was shocked.

For the price you would expect that the take away soup at home would still contain liquid, but understand that the udon noodles absorb a lot of liquid, it was still tasty.

Ordered noodle soup for 17 CHF. And cooking water and some spice mixture with noodles and a mini schnitzel in a cardboard box. Instant noodles taste better Value for money not given. Better go to GOKI

This place was the turning point, it served as the lobby of the hotel I stayed in. Practically as soon as you entered you were forced to pass by it. Ah from the same restaurant owner we also checked in /out. All really excellent, highly recommended for the price (slightly lower than the Lucerne average) and for the strategic location. Very kind and friendly owner.

17 CHF for a vegetable udon. A tasteless broth, udon noodles, and 3 pieces of vegetables. Take your money somewhere else.

Unfortunately I didn't eat during this visit but it was very nice and pleasant. I'm looking forward to my next visit where I'll try out the interesting dishes.

Ordered Ramen, Chicken katsu curry, gyoza and yakitori. Everything we ordered didn't really justify the price. Ramen is just the instant ramen packet you can buy in almost any supermarket. Gyoza is from those frozen gyoza packs then just fried. Yakitori is not grilled at all even the sauces used seem instant. Chicken Katsu is not even breaded japanese style. Not worth the money. Never again.

I ordered food through uber eats. I was deeply disappointed. We ordered ramen, glass noodle salad, gyoza and udon with katsu. Udon and gyoza were cold and there was a piece of broccoli a piece of zuccetti and a microscopic strip of carrot in it. Chicken katsu was missing and when I called the supplier he confirmed that he had forgotten it and would bring it. After waiting for 30 minutes, I called him again and noticed that he had blocked my number and uber eats wasn't responding either. Totally incompetent. Will never order again because the restaurant cannot be reached by phone.

Ordered sweet potato noodles and didn't get it. Vegetables were almost non-existent. It felt like there was only a small zucchini and a bit of a carrot... It was even too salty for that. But the food was ready very quickly.

I thought it was an authentic Japanese restaurant, but it is a Korean restaurant. A bit disappointing, but I decided on a Korean dish, Japchae. The portion is fair for the price. I thought it was a shame that the salad was next to the warm pasta and these warmed up the salad. I was there during lunch and there were a lot of people. But everything worked out great and was organized.

I normally don't post bad reviews but this place was very disappointing. The restaurant itself was very cozy, but the food was a disappointment. Our Chicken Kastu Udon literally had 2 very thin slices of meat and the broth tasted like water mixed with soy sauce. The Ramen is just instant noodles you can purchase from the store. Save your money and go somewhere else. This restaurant needs to reconsider how they make their food. It's a disgrace to Japanese/Korean food.

A delicious restaurant and I recommend it to you, but I know which one to choose. I tried this dish and I honestly liked it, and the price is excellent. I gave it 5 because the food is sufficient and the price is good, especially for us in the Gulf. It is permissible for us. Of course, the restaurant is a Japanese paradise. I expect that anyone who orders katsu chicken is sweet, but as for Chilean chicken, I do not advise you: it is muddy.

Really bad, chicken noodle soup received without chicken and soup leaked

We took some gyoza and some takoyaki. Both were mediocre: The gyoza was deep fried and tasteless. The takoyaki was supposed to have squid but they we mostly deep fried dough and some were missing the squid altogether. Quite disappointing!

Never go to this restaurant, I would rather buy instant noddles in supermarket. The taste is very boring.

I've had terrible stomach pain/diarrhea the last two times. A few years ago I ate from Mashida every day and everything was ok. Food has lost quality, chicken meat is hard and inedible

Beef teriyaki. Tastes really good. The salad is right in the bowl. It's a bit of a shame that the salad dressing mixes with the food. Porzion is good right now. Stops hunger. But I don't know if the price of Fr. 19.90 is justified....? Therefore 4 instead of 5 stars (would give 4.5 stars 😉) But it was good, I'd love to come back 👍

It fills the stomach and it's quick (almost too much, it's suspicious) but it's not great... I gave a second star because the price is low compared to alternatives in the surrounding area. They made a mistake in our order, we were missing two dishes out of the eight ordered. The skewers had a weird texture.

A very delicious south korean restaurant! This is a ramen restaurant that I went to while traveling with my parents. This is a delicious restaurant where you can eat out cheaply in Switzerland. If I come to Lucerne again, I want to go again!

The beef teriyaki is okay but the ramen and udon soup taste like instant noodle with very little veggies.

Had dish number 8 and was very disappointed since it was generally rice with ketchup. The dish description was lack. I Asked to replace the dish or have another dish instead, but the workers there were not willing to do anything and act VERY VERY rudely

Ramen is literally instant ramen. The broth of the soup tasted exactly like shinramyun instant ramen. Very disappointing.

A must visit if you are in Lucerne. Quality food at amazing prices. We had it once by chance and we could not stop talking about it. Needless to say, we came back for more. I highly recommend the ramen!

Small restaurant with delicious Japanese-Asian dishes. The dishes and ingredients are a little different than what I know from other Japanese restaurants. But still highly recommended. There are seats inside and outside, in the middle of Lucerne's old town.

This place needs better rating. As an asian tourist craving for rice and ramen, this place is a heaven! Big portion + affordable.
