La Vouivre in Genève

A very cute place to stop and have something warm. I was going to give it 3 stars because the hot chocolate was not good, flavorless and earthy, but I gave it 4 because the cheesecake was spectacular and the atmosphere and decoration transport you to another era.

This patisserie is keeping the old school cafe culture alive. The servers are absolutely lovely, the place a little kitschy baroque in a way that works, and every single item on their menu is phenomenal. Lovely place for a slow afternoon tea/ coffee with some nice pastry.

We'd just arrived by plane and were starving. Spotted this little cafe just near our hotel and the lady was very patient as we chose a selection of sandwiches, cakes and drinks. Especially good black forest gateaux!

Here is an address to remember in Geneva to have breakfast! The croissant and pain au chocolat are amazing! The coffee + croissant + orange juice formula is very interesting. A little extra for the homemade hot chocolate. Dorian Belgium

Magnificent tea room, cozy decoration and excellent welcome. Comfortably seated, you will enjoy a coffee accompanied by a delicious lemon tartlet.

I am japanese and went to with my Japanese friend there. I went to few times with European friend it was nice service no problem but this time we spoke Japanese and not many customers and 3 people were working. Definitely they knew we were sitting but 10mins no one come to take the order. Then we found they went to other customers. We were unpleasant this attitude and we left. Staff did not say anything. I will never go there anymore.

Offering a double espresso as double an espresso is exaggerated. It is the same cup. This is the first time I noticed that a double espresso corresponds to a “double price”.

Original and mismatched decor, very nice with a good atmosphere. Excellent pastries and attentive service. Don't be in a hurry when there are a lot of people.

This is a beautiful place where home-made pastries are warm and welcoming. The Boss is dynamic. We feel the desire to please the guests. Well done. I'll be back.

We came for breakfast. There were lots of tables available. We got a pretzel sandwich, fig tarte and an espresso. The pretzel sandwich was somewhat dry and chewy. Not very good would skip. The fig tart was not bad but it was a little sweet. Espresso was good It seems like mostly regulars come here and you get the odd lost tourist, like us, in here. The servers are really friendly and nice.

A slightly qwerky café where the crockery doesn't match, nor the furniture or even the decor but they have made a feature of this. The welcome was cordial if not overly friendly however they were very accommodating making room for our party despite being quite busy. We only had a light lunch, mostly soups, but it was delicious and the tea was loose, in a strainer so you could get your ideal intensity of flavour which was perfect! Would happily return any time.

It hasn't changed. I knew this address before this baroque decor and after. I missed being an apprentice there but J.Bathiste lacked rigor, among other things. After many decades, I returned there this 19.11.2o23 around 1oH and I was very surprised that there could be so few customers. Two exactly and only to take away. I didn't find what I wanted, which surprised me, and for the kahve, I went to another tea room to drink the grain quahwah, because this deafening silence seemed so heavy to bear. However, a kind note for the seller's welcome, even if he was furtive. Accessible to disabled people.

A nice place that takes you to the 70th, loved the decorations in the vintage style, a little bit expensive comparing to other coffees but it is so normal. I had a coffee and chocolate croissant it was delicious. Good to try

A timeless place in the middle of Easter. I invite you to taste the pain au chocolat, I have rarely tasted such a naughty one! Jules and his team welcome you with a superb smile and crazy energy. A UNIQUE atmosphere, there are no other words. My obligatory little stop every time I come to Geneva.

Stopped in here for breakfast. They have croissants and sandwiches, but no obvious breakfast items. I settled on a turkey sandwich 🥪. It was good. Polite employees. Food served quickly. Reasonable prices.

Very nice and cosy little café. The service is great, fast and the prices are decent for a good quality. There is not a lot of tables but at least it is not too noisy.

I came for the first time, I loved the vintage style of the cups and the place and the chai latte. 😋 unfortunately, I didn't like the ginger hot chocolate... a little too bitter. but the server was lovely. However, I have only heard reviews about this coffee, I don't understand. in any case experience to repeat

It is in the heart of Geneva, in the liveliest district of the city. The dishes, delicacies, savory or sweet pies as well as all the cakes and many other wonders, have a delicious and unique taste! Oh my God ! To get up at night! As beautiful and good to the eyes as to the mouth. The service is impeccable, the people who work there are extraordinary, like the owner of the establishment, who is just a sweetheart and very professional. The decor is so artistic, with little treasures of objects to discover and observe here and there, as well as a thousand mirrors which surround us as if to better reflect our daydreams, our imagination. Original, attractive, this establishment and its atmosphere are filled with pretty musical notes, aesthetics, a zest of charming, even sensual madness and sweetness. La Vouivre has experienced lots of beautiful and interesting things, I can say that since I have been coming there since I was 20 until I was 39 today. Musical clips have been filmed there, contemporary poets from varied backgrounds have written some of their most beautiful poems or plays there, many beautiful love stories.... I'll stop otherwise I won't finish it not... We feel the magic of the place the minute we enter, a mix of relaxed and sophisticated and above all a lot of know-how. BRAVO✨👏💗

Waiters and waitresses who work weekends are particularly unpleasant. The sandwiches are dry and sparsely filled.

Homemade pastries, inexpensive and delicious

It is an OK place with a different vibe with its old fashion style interior. It says everything home made. Tasted only the tart with nuts which is ok. The americano was fine too. Not amazing but drinkable-ish (it is very hard to emnoy a nice americano everywhere anyway). Given we are in the centre of Geneva acceptable value for price. It sounds like an-ish review ;).

Coffee is from a “push a button and get a cappuchino” kind of coffee mashine and expensive, served in a teamug. Got a nice piece of cake.. with a hair in it. The guy at the desk was nice and the place grandma-style cozy, just like the pictures indicate.

Hello to you! This tearoom is an excellent, well-kept place, but the male person who receives you on the weekend is very unpleasant, takes the customer down and responds in an aggressive manner even when there is no crowd, a word to the wise. !!!

2-3 decades ago, this Tea-Room was very jet-set, absolutely crowded even on Sundays. The decoration was already like that, more "grandma" and that's what we loved. I believe it was bought around 2006. I don't know if it's still as good or if unfortunately! it's industrial like many places that the new owners think they are "improving" by washing away the soul of the place. I have to go back to see!

Located somewhat out of the way. Super friendly and homemade cakes of the best kind. You sit comfortably on different chairs, look at different lamps and mirrors and drink the best coffee in the city from different cups. A place to unwind.

Every time I'm in Geneva, I pass by La Vouivre. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly; Jules and his team are top notch. The cafe is always full of locals and new customers. The products are fresh and tasty and there is a nice variety in the change of some pastries etc. The raspberry bush is a must!!

Nice place but tables are a bit close one to another. Croissant was too dry but ananas cake was great!

La Vouivre is known in Geneva for its unique atmosphere as well as the quality of its coffee. At the end of last year, Jules, the boss's son, took over the business. You will notice the appearance of new pastries that seem to come straight from the film Amélie Poulain. The cakes in particular are incredibly beautiful and delicious, without being heavy or too sweet, the perfect balance! I recommend the black forest, the cheese cake, and the milk chocolate croissant.

Fresh off our overnight flight into Geneva we needed a place for some coffee and snacks. We found this little gem while walking around and it was perfect for us. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They made sure to give our 2 year old son some attention and things to play with like an antique coffee grinder. He wanted to stay and work there by the end. Ha. We had a soup and sandwich along with some cappuccinos.

The chocolate and coffee we ordered were delicious and we tried a cake that was also delicious and all for a good price. I come often at la Vouivre, and this is the coziest place I know in Geneva. The whole atmosphere is created with the classical music you can hear, the warm and delicious teas and coffees they serve; and the amazing croissant chocolat, tarte à la tomate or soup of the day. I also have a little crush on the crumble tarts they have. With friends, families or just for 2 hours of work, this is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or goûter (even only a cup of tea). Thank you to the staff of la Vouivre for always being so welcoming.

A delight, our favorite address in Geneva! We were very well received, unlike previous comments, which we did well to ignore. They stick to the rules regarding Covid, and as usual there are people who don't have their health pass or identity card who find it annoying. We wanted to taste a lot of things, and everything was delicious! Special mentions for the cheese croissant sandwich, the chocolate cake, the amaretti and the almond croissant! And ginger hot chocolate which warms and invigorates! See you soon!
