I love this place! For me, it is a mythical place linked to my youth and very good memories. In all these years, nothing has changed and that feels good! Their pizzas are always just as good, their salads too, not to mention their iced coffee! If you are looking for large, thin pizzas, no this is not where you should come. But come and try it all the same and I bet you'll come back to it :)

The pizzas are special, because they are made with thick dough, but really excellent. The cheese also has more flavor than traditional mozarella and that changes us. The homemade pasta menu is also very good, served with a nice green salad. The pizzas are really cheap. The restaurant is also well located, very close to the Cornavin station. It was a pleasant surprise to discover this original restaurant and a great experience. It's a shame that I don't often have the opportunity to go to Geneva.

Delicious qnd unique Pizza in Geneva since 1955. However, issue is they close very early and stop serving, almost by 21.45 des pite the fact last order should bebtaken by 22.30 pm. Clarification is required as to what time exactly last order is taken and what time customers must be out of the door. The time of ordering and closure is very random and vague. Otherwise, a superb, kind, professional and experienced team.

Friendly enough, pizzas came in smaller sizes which was useful but not Italian pizzas as we know them. We had a salad nicoise without anchovies which was disappointing as it was loaded with capers and so much dressing that the lettuce was soggy. Not enjoyable. Difficulty in getting served with a second drink but in fairness they were busy.

Very nice restaurant. The focaccia dough is excellent, the portion is sufficient. It must be understood that in 1955, pizzas in Geneva were not very well known, hence the confusion between a pizza and a focaccia. They chose focaccia dough, which in my opinion is far superior. I think it was easier to call it "Pizza" because it's more known around the world, and they were right. The proof is that it’s always full. So, people who criticize the size of their pizzas should do their research, because they will not be able to eat a focaccia like the one served in this restaurant, the size of a traditional pizza.

I have been eating at L'Age d'Or for more than 30 years about once a year at each of my annual visit to Geneva (except last few years during covid). This last visit was probably the worst, service was amazingly rude (both of the servers on the patio) and the parma ham pizza, which I am eating as mentioned for 30 years, was ...off. I could not put a finger on what went wrong but it is not what it used to be. The ham is the same, I think the tomato sauce is the same, the dough was a bit different maybe and probably the cheese as well. They are very tiny deep dish pizza, you normally need 2 for a full meal. Far away from a real neapolitan pizza but unique in their own genre and I crave them each time I am in Geneva. I will be back hoping the off-taste was a one-off, as there is no other reason to go there. Last time I was there in 2019, service was cold as expected in Geneva, but this time it was bothersome. It is a pity because these pizzas are good, normally, unique for sure, and the setting is very nice. Service has always been famously cold but this time it was bad.

A good surprise, very close to the station, not a very big menu, but quantity is better than quantity The pasta with pesto sauce and the one with mushroom sauce (boletus) are very good and hearty and served with a large salad. Having been going there regularly for over 40 years, I think I know what I'm talking about. Please understand before reading the rest: We don't come in our golden years to eat the pizza that we find in all the Geneva pizzerias 1. The service has not changed, the longevity of the servers attests to this. And for me, service is the No. 1 criterion. 2. The pizettes have been identical since 1955, still not made over a wood fire, still of a size significantly smaller than the usual pizzas (which is why old people who hate waste return there alone after losing their spouse). You will never find an identical pizza, it is a recipe that is old and which has made it unique and successful. 3. Are you in a hurry? That’s good, because here we don’t wait. We welcome you quickly and we serve you quickly. 4. The decor is in its period style with its statues of black servants (poorly viewed today) but I love it

We are Genevans by birth but have never tried the golden age before! We returned by chance after 9:00 p.m., very hungry. Given the welcome, we thought about turning around and then finally we ignored the palpable tension to concentrate on this rare moment of eating alone. What was our surprise when we saw our pizzas arrive. If you don't look a little bit you'll think it's a joke! It's actually the size of a traditional wood-fired pizza. They are therefore no bigger than your hand but I must admit that they were delicious! Just the right amount of contour, hot, melted cheese, not 3 tonnes of tomato sauce as we are used to seeing and good raw ham for my part. We each had a second one which makes a good ticket for a pizza outing but the quality was there, we didn't have any more room for dessert.

Very disappointed by this so-called "mythical" pizzeria. I order a Coca-Cola zero, I am served a Sinalco Cola which does not have the same taste, without first informing the customer. The pizzas are very small. The menu stipulates 2 choices: "new pizza" or "traditional pizza", without clear details on the menu for the customer. There were 3 of us at tables, we ordered 2 traditional ones (smaller according to the server) and 1 new one (the larger one). When the pizzas arrive, the diameter between the small and the large is almost the same, except for the price of course. The dough is soft and the pizza is average. For dessert, I ordered a pineapple (certain that I was going to be served a 1/4 of a fresh pineapple, as I am used to) and there, surprise, a cup of 2 slices of canned pineapple in a syrup, like in the canteen. My husband had a chocolate pear, the pear also taken out of the can with an industrial chocolate cream on top. There were 3 of us at the table for a bill of 90.-frs and we left hungry. Frankly, this pizzeria is a great scam, very disappointing!!!

And the very simplistic salad. Too bad the frame doesn't match the contents of the plate. And even more unfortunate that we cannot give a completely correct opinion without an inappropriate response. I came 20 years ago thanks to friends from Switzerland 🇨🇭. The memory of Pizzas from the Golden Age, an unforgettable treat for my taste buds. Coming from France 🇫🇷 seeing our friends each time I talked about the Pizzas of the Golden Age. But what a regret to have waited so long to come back. Last night after a show we went back there. And there, my taste buds were delighted again. In addition the waiter who took care of us, super pleasant and kind. In addition a little digestive offered and a little dessert the best of the house 😉 to share... So I highly recommend l'Age dOr, and what's more a house founded since 1955. I wouldn't wait 20 years this time to come back...

The Golden Age is an institution with its very special atmosphere! The pizzas are certainly not huge and fortunately so because they are very well stocked, soft with lots of melted cheese. For a little extra I always add an egg on top. You have to ask for them well cooked because the dough is thick but say not burnt please! Then for very big eaters the very advantageous price allows you to possibly order a second one. But with a good country salad accompanied by crispy garlic bread you will get your money's worth. The servers are adorable, you just have to be patient and respectful, which is not the case for everyone! We have been going there regularly for many years and we always return with as much pleasure.

After reservation accepted at 9:30 p.m., knowing that the kitchen closed at 10 p.m. with our understanding we arrived 10 minutes late following a search for a parking space (in the city center & yes...) The reception was very unpleasant so we decided to leave. What a shame the restaurant of our childhood with grandpa makes us feel unknown! In the 70's and 80's, I went there with my parents and my little brother, it was THE Saturday restaurant before or after the cinema, then during the 80's and 90's, I went there alone or with friends (e)s. Afterwards I took the one who became my better half and we of course converted the son who now goes without us (or with us when he is broke 😉). The Golden Age is my own Proust madeleine, each bite of a “Maison” brings me back to memories of all periods of my life. I cannot be objective so this opinion is worth what it is worth but it is a unique and unmissable place in Geneva.
