We enjoyed our Fondue with herbs and nice Cappuccino. However, the customer service was poor, beside being ripped for CHF 9.50 for one water bottle which we never ordered. We ordered for Tap water and were served with a HENNIEZ still water bottle. On explaining that we never ordered it, staff argued that we might have misunderstood it but now you have bought the bottle and we were made to pay the amount. When we asked to speak with the trainee staff who took the order, we were told that we cannot speak with him. One still water bottle for CHF 9.50 and the rates for which is not mentioned in any Menu card served to us is unacceptable. Clearly not a fair trade practice. Highly disappointed.

We came for my 70th birthday my son asked for fries instead of gratin dauphinois the waitress was very poor fillet of beef 65fr I find a little exaggerated the staff not friendly at all it might have been a bad day perch fillets delicious too bad a bit we were very disappointed a smile would please cold staff in short I will stop we will return there more

We wanted to enjoy a winter evening with family around a warm fondue at the Chalet du Mont Pelerin Unfortunately our hope of a jovial evening quickly evaporated, upon entry we received a very cold welcome following the provision of our Realdeals voucher. We move on, when taking the order I politely ask that my companion and I's fondues be prepared without alcohol, which earned me a very unpleasant reaction from the waitress: sighs and judgment! The lady in charge of our service made it clear to us that our presence was not welcome due to our good realdeals and especially to our religious beliefs, she stressed in front of the whole table when I took my order that she would not didn't understand with the sole aim of humiliating me. However, I am a Swiss native and French is my mother tongue. We wanted to add an extra 10 CHF to our voucher for a morel fondue and this same lady laughed in our face! I could expand further on the ridiculous quantities served in the potato portions, or the tablecloth from the neighboring table suddenly catching fire without causing any reaction from the staff. They seem used to chaos. I'll stop there...

Great restaurant with stunning views of the lake. The service staff takes great care, which is very appreciable. The quality of the dishes is just top notch. The plates arrive very very hot. I have no complaints and I think we will return to taste very good dishes there. Please note that the restaurant only sources locally, their natural potatoes are just super tender 😍

Great chalet experience where you can get authentic Swiss food. The views are spectacular and the food is great as well. There are some service slippages but it's alright overall. We had the Rosti and Gruyere fondue and they were very good. It's also open on Sundays so that is also a win as one of the few places to do so. And did I talk about the views? I have also always been able to find parking nearby while driving to Le Chalet but the funicular is also right next door.

Great restaurant, everything was delicious! They offer Swiss products (Dr. Gabs beers, Coke also from a Swiss brand, ect...) the ice creams are from an ice cream parlor and not ordinary supermarket ice cream, I can tell you that the difference is clearly there! If you're staying in the Montreux Riviera region your hotel will supply you with a free travel permit that allows you to use the buses and trains and it's free to ride the funicular to this restaurant. The views are beautiful and the brownie I had was absolutely delicious and served with plum conserve on a slate platter like 'Master Chef' 👌😋

I had the chance to come there for the ProSenectuteVaud volunteers' party. The terrace is huge with a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains.

The views are stunning and we timed it for sunset adding that extra special wow factor. Never having had fondue before, our waitress recommended and guided us through the best for us both. The food was superb as was the wine and service with plenty of smiles. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the Vevey, Montreux area.

Food is good, view is incredible, but service is extremely slow, and quite psychorigid (kids menu, 2 scoops of ice cream: once your kid chooses his ice cream flavor, impossible to have a change of mind!! Going from 2 vanilla to 1 vanilla, 1 lemon is mission impossible...they tell you that it's in the ordering system and if you want a different flavor, you have to order an other ice cream...🙄 Update following the owner's reply: not only is your defensive and slightly aggressive response the image of what we faced when visiting, but so that things are clear: the dessert in the kids menu needs to be ordered at the same time as the main course. We asked for a change in flavour about 5 minutes after ordering, when the main dish had not even been prepared (considering the time we waited to get our food), let alone served. Ok, a change of mind might be a hassle, but we came mid-afternoon, terrace was 2/3 full, inside was nearly empty, so nothing to do with lunch rush and we didnt even complain about the slow service. being a bit flexible is part of what is called providing a service, which is also what we pay for when eating in a restaurant, and often what makes the difference between "just" a restaurant and a good restaurant. So if you will not accept your customers' observations about their experience in your restaurant, better not reply at all.

Too much!!! We had a recommendation and it was worth going up the funicular just for lunch, to have a local white wine recommended by the super friendly, pleasant and professional waitress Gorrete as she says. The CHF are more expensive, but it's worth it for the quality, flavor, service, and the stunning view of Vevey and Montreux....

We came to celebrate our wedding. We had our secular ceremony as well as our aperitif at their home. The view was incredible, we were lucky enough to be on the terrace below. The appetizer was delicious. Our guests loved it! We recommend them for aperitifs. Many thanks for this wonderful day.

We were under their awning sheltered from the rain, with three children. Without warning, they have removed the awning, still getting their tablecloths wet to force us to enter. Upon entering we were told that we could not sit down because only three tables were without tablecloths and the others were occupied. The ones with tablecloths were for lunch later. They ask us what we want to drink, we tell them to give us a table and they tell us no, and that we can't be inside without consuming. Flooding, with three children and free tables. Unpleasant to deal with as much as possible.

Nice views and easily accessible next to the funicular end station. The terrasse offers great view on the lake and mountains. The downside is staff can be a bitt abrupt on which table you can sit and don’t make it. Lear if you wait to be seated or choose the right table to be seated on the cafe terms. If there are mats on the table you can not sit there ,only tables with none. Just make it easy and make it a sign post to avoid upsetting costumers.

We had a horrible experience here… avoid at all cost. For locals & tourists. We stayed two nights down the road at the Mirador hôtel and decided to come eat here from recommendations of a local friend. And it was up the road. First we got served with a COLD fondue that we had to heat up ourselves with our fire. Didn’t say anything and let it go… However then ordered a KIDS SIZE PORTION of gnocchi for our son who is Two yrs and asked for it to be tiny we asked for 4-5 gnocchis if anything and asked for tomato sauce instead of the truffle sauce they had. They gave us this request. Upon getting the bill we seen we got charged $22 for my 2yr old sons portion of maybe 8 gnocchis. When asking why it was so much for his plate he said it’s because he charged us half of the truffle gnocchis price. Which is outrageous since he put canned tomate sauce and not truffles on it. When your bill is $400 you think they would’ve charged us a child’s price portion at the very most if not waived the cost for 8 gnocchis. He was so unbelievably rude and made us all uncomfortable. His excuses and attitude were extremely poor. We advised our hotel to not recommend people to come eat here and warn them of his tourist trap up the road. The food was mediocre at best and we were invested by flys while trying to enjoy our meal which was equally as terrible. When we asked for them to open a window they refused.

A disastrous experience in a restaurant to absolutely avoid! Very negative review for the restaurant Le Chalet du Mont-Pèlerin We have just had one of the worst dining experiences of our lives at Le Chalet du Mont-Pèlerin restaurant, and we feel the need to share our disappointment in order to warn other potential customers of this true gastronomic disaster. To begin with, the bread served as a starter was dry and stale, giving an unpromising taste for the rest of the meal. Then, our order finally arrived, and that's when we realized what a monumental mistake our choice to dine here was. The main course we ordered was simply inedible. The meat was tasteless, rubbery and obviously not fresh. The accompanying vegetables were barely cooked, almost raw, and without any seasoning. Worse still, the butter that came with them was rancid, which added an extra touch of disgust to our already disastrous meal. Faced with this unprecedented culinary disappointment, we called the waiter to express our dissatisfaction, hoping for a professional reaction and an assumption of responsibility on the part of the establishment. However, instead of apologizing or offering any compensation, the staff simply ignored us and continued their work, as if our disastrous experience was the norm. We ultimately decided to leave the restaurant without being able to swallow a single bite of our meal, and it was definitely the best decision we made all day. We would like to warn anyone considering dining at Chalet du Mont-Pèlerinde to seriously reconsider their choice. The poor quality of the food, the lack of professionalism of the staff and the total lack of consideration towards customers are unacceptable and unworthy of an establishment that claims to be a restaurant. We would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and hope that our review will help prevent others from experiencing the same disappointment we experienced. There are surely other restaurants in the area that are more deserving of your time, money and appetite.

Our visit to the restaurant was really mixed. The ardoise was ok, but the gnocchi with truffle sauce still had water in the plate and the sauce was horrible. You can't sell something like that. Some of the tables were broken. The lady next door complained and it was not addressed. That's really a pity!

Service, prices, quality of food= good ratings and repeat business. The rest are secondary factors. If there was a separate rating for the views, we would have given 5 stars. There is some sort of like a rush-rush type of atmosphere as well the prices are not exactly in proportion with everything, so a lukewarm rating of just in the middle.

Magnificent landscapes, but the only positive thing about this restaurant! My experience at this restaurant in question was most unpleasant. The manager in charge of my service was execrable towards the other servers, and her heavy presence which spoiled the initially pleasant time that I had planned to spend. Her incessant presence and her lack of education were particularly disturbing, because she did not understand that she was too much. We understood that she loved dogs….. Additionally, the quality of the food left something to be desired as it was bland. Absolutely avoid! The patio restaurant is much better for the same view.

The place is magical, a view to die for, accessible by public transport and wheelchair, accepts dogs on the terrace. The service, despite the lack of staff, is very motivated to do things well. As for the kitchen: avoid! Despite the general quality of the products and the excellent fries, everything is bland (watery vegetables, sauce made only of cream, malakoffs without cheese etc... and all this for exorbitant prices. Stay just to drink something, the menu wines are great.

I interned here in 2007 when I was still studying for my BA. Food quality was fairly disappointing, staff quality was not of the Kempinski times. Sorry to see the loss of value. Location is the pro, but that’s it.

This is the second time I've been there and I can assure you that unfortunately it will be the last. The restaurant has a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains, the servers are honest and mean well. However they are not professional, the service is average but the worst remains the food and the price. Our fondue was not cooked, the Malakoffs are frozen and tiny, all this for 120.- with a glass of red (2 people). This is totally absurd, Mr. Owner, spare me your comment telling me that the error comes from the customer who should simply look at the mountains and forget the poor quality of this restaurant. The location at Mont-Pèlerin is unique and rightly world-famous. One might think that a restaurant in this location would be content with the location as a business model. However, the “Chalet du Mont-Pèlerin” pampers its guests in such a way that you would visit it even if it were at the end of the world. All products are fresh and high quality. The preparation is imaginative, sometimes surprising, but always technically perfect. The menu offers a wide selection of tasty local and international dishes, so you are literally spoiled for choice. The service impresses with professionalism and a lot of friendliness. A place to discover and come back!
