Le Joran in Lac de Neuchâtel (NE)

Very good meat, ok sauce. One of us asked for almond perch but got meunière. I was assured that the profiteroles were made with ice cream but that is not the case. These are industrial profiteroles with cream inside which were reheated a little hard because the choux pastry was dry and the cream inside was hot. When I pointed it out to the waitress she assured me that I was wrong and that it was vanilla ice cream. We find the same profiteroles at Migros... Alice cut with a single caramel ball for 2 vanillas and a very small dash of caramel sauce on top. Denmark cup with little chocolate.

If I could, I would give it 6 stars. Lots of people, full parking and cars outside the boxes. Despite this, fast service, excellent food. It's been a long time since I ate this well. Great, well done. I only have one regret, not having come for a long time. See you soon. You want to eat well, so come without hesitation.

Attention yesterday we were eating the perch fillet on 01.02.24. I ate two perch and got food poisoning. Even the fries and rice weren't the best. I'm not happy at all. Really Infectious

Always a pleasure to eat at this restaurant! From Chinese fondue to steak tartare and perch fillets, everything is delicious. The plates are very generous, which my teenage boys love! The boss doesn't change, her kindness makes our meals even better. In summer, it's certainly one of my favorite terraces where I love, among other things, enjoying the hot goat's cheese salad! We also had a baptism there with more than twenty people and everything was a success: in the kitchen and in the service, we were delighted with this day.

Excellent cuisine, nothing to say on the other hand, the waiter was very unpleasant, not helpful, made lots of comments, we were in full sun, 2 other tables of which refused to lower the blinds, fortunately a lady who worked there was able to raise the level of service and we took it down without anything to say I find unacceptable all the tables with children and elderly people were really not good in the sun because we had to wait a long time for the dishes I would not go back

Very nice restaurant located on the edge of the lake but separated by the highway which you cannot hear. Even when it's busy, the service is fast and the servers are friendly. I was even surprised by the fairly low price despite the economic situation.

We ordered a Chinese fondue to take away, the welcome was very warm and smiling. Served very quickly and very carefully. We had the Joran broth, a pure delight, accompanied by homemade sauces and rice, fries, olives and cornices and salads, a pure delight, tender meat, top rice and fries yum 😋 We are super happy and will come back either to pick up or eat there. Thank you for this tasty meal. I recommend the Chinoise and highly recommend trying the other dishes.

The food is acceptable. Good but not incredible. The strength of the restaurant is rather found in the efficiency of the service. I recommend to go for family reunions or with workmates as their service staff is experienced in accomodating big groups. During summer you can eat on their terrace that offers an agreeable atmosphere. A parking lot is provided and its location is conveniently close to the city as well as the lakeside.

We came for dinner on a Friday evening, a joran fondue in this restaurant, the food was good but the service is a disaster: kitchen closed at 9 p.m., very slow refilling of the supposedly unlimited fondue…. And the climax at 10:15 p.m. the waiter told us that they were going to close soon, at 10:30 p.m. the same waiter closed the terrace blind, so we found ourselves in the rain to pay. Total rubbish...

Attentive staff, quality food, these are the 2 ingredients for a successful meal. Thank you to the whole team and chef Victoria for her professionalism! It’s always a pleasure to go there and eat its specialty which is Joanaise Chinese fondue!

The meal was very good. A bit of a wait for service, at the same time I don't find a lot of staff to serve. Pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant is simple, but that's enough. On the other hand, we are very crowded, almost stuck to other tables, an overcrowded room, and it was hot. The impression that the staff is overworked in the dining room, approximate orders (poorly cooked meats or bad accompaniments), wines arriving much too late, and in a very hurry to take orders. Nevertheless, he remains very friendly and accommodating. The cuisine is also good, I recommend the jorannaise with the superb sauce. We get away with a good price and a hearty dish. Perhaps some reinforcement on very crowded days would allow this room to breathe, on the verge of suffocation.

Sincerely disappointed... From 1, in such a small place to put as many tables (or even the server just manages to pass between 2) to make the place profitable is not great especially when the room once full, it is impossible to discuss, communicate with your opposite it is so noisy, too many tables for such a small space 🙈 (practical for a couple who have nothing left to say to each other) and we ordered and paid for beef entrecôtes and we really had the impression of eating a steak that was tough so the entrecôte is a tender meat and supposed to melt in the mouth and this was not the case at all, the morel sauce had the pronounced taste of Knorr brown powder sauce... Too much expensive for such a dish. And having to pay for parking to go eat in this restaurant is unacceptable! Very very disappointed and we will never go back there again!

Very good food but at lunchtime it's total stress as we bring the dish without having finished the starter. In the evening I waited 45 minutes before receiving our dish so the restaurant was generally good.

Friendly, professional and efficient service. Succulent dishes, fair prices with excellent value for money. In winter in the dining room or in summer on the terrace, we have a great time each time. Thank you to the entire Joran team, whom I recommend without reservation.

Service was nice and courteous. When there were a few more people there, the waiting times became a bit long and hectic. The entrecôte with the “Joran” sauce was delicious and the meat was well fried. But the warm goat cheese salad was just far too expensive at CHF 25. Wasn't worth it.

Nice restaurant and friendly staff. We ate the Joranaise fondue galore with fries and homemade sauces, it was very good and well served! The meat was super tender and the broth used for cooking really brings a different taste, yum! Plus the weather was with us, we were able to enjoy their large terrace.

Good menu without more. Tasteless vegetables. The server in the dining room should be properly dressed (e.g. 1 shirt instead of a t-shirt that is too large and relaxed). But we will definitely come back in summer on the terrace
