The technical show was very good, certainly the service was friendly and attentive. The starter and entrée corresponded to the show and were very similar. The main course was only remotely related to the show's food, and the dessert had nothing to do with it. The quality of the food was OK, but not in proportion to the price. You can get the same quality in every cafeteria kitchen.

LE PETIT CHEF is REALLY an absolute experience. When the “little boss” walked across the table for the first time, I was completely blown away by what was offered to me. You immerse yourself in another world and are entertained from aisle to aisle with different experiences of this little man. And these are so lovingly designed that they will stay in your memory for a long time. :O)

The experience was fun and entertaining. The service from staffs were great. I was thankful that they changed the main dish for me due to food restriction that I did not declare in the beginning (I was not aware I had to put that in upon booking). Anyway goo to try it once for novelty but I agree with many other commenters here that they missed out so many potential here, almost as if they didn’t even bother to listen and improve it. The animation was real fun to watch but can be way better given today’s tech standard. The storyline was not strong and kinda kiddish after awhile. The food was also meh especially the main dish being the weakest. Overall I don’t think it’s value for money.

Overall, the evening left a rather ambivalent impression on the “Little Boss”. The short video animations of the Petit Chef, projected directly onto the table and onto the plates, were sweet (five times about a minute each), but nothing more. The food was very good, the meat was a bit tough, but the portions were generous. This occasion is not suitable for a nice evening for two, you will be seated at a table for 8 - et alors, debrouillez-vous. The French ditties between animations are repeated in an annoying endless loop. And when a major Turkish event takes place on the floor above, the walls in the tranquil grotto shake with the Petit Chef performance.

The idea of projection is very nice. Everything else was very disappointing. The price is exaggerated. A wedding was taking place in the hall above. When they danced upstairs, our projector shook. Not to mention the noise! When leaving the hall between the aisles, the door kept slamming shut (the self-closing mechanism is poorly set). The food was poor quality for 129 CHF. And finally, in our case (perhaps because of the wedding) the waiting time was catastrophic. 3 hours for 4 courses prepared in advance. Unacceptable! We ate dessert and then left. We didn't even watch the finale. I can imagine that with the end and the waiting time to pay (because everyone finishes together, everyone wants to pay together and it creates a bottleneck) the people with us left after almost 4 hours. All in all, whoever created the concept for the evening (not the Hotel Hofmatt) had a good idea. However, the implementation is catastrophic and overpriced.

Le Petit Chef one of the things on the must see list! As we enjoy our starter, main course and dessert, we experience how the little animated chef acts on our table and presents the preparation of the dishes in an entertaining and humorous way. An innovative culinary experience.

It was a lovely evening, but unfortunately it was far too expensive for what was achieved. The service staff only asked us about the aperitif drink. No other drinks were ever asked, e.g. Maybe a wine with the meal would have been nice. There was no other interaction whatsoever - just ask if everything is ok... I expect that at a good 130.- CHF per person. (without drinks - which luckily you don't get for your wallet anyway) The food was also very limited. Served quite bland and almost a bit rough. Only the starter was really great. The courses followed each other very quickly and I felt a bit rushed at times. About the show: It started great. The first episode was entertaining and lasted a few minutes. After that, the sequences became very short and the whole picture was static even while eating. We would have liked to have seen more of the little chef or at least some movement on the table while eating. You announce it as a spectacle. A pity. Although the idea with the projector had great potential, we are rather disappointed.

We had a nice evening at Le Petit Chef. The waiters were very kind and checked often that we were enjoying ourselves. The food portions were very generous and although tasty wasn’t anything extraordinary. Just good plates of food but don’t go in expecting Michelin star quality dishes. The real star of the experience are the way the food is presented with the le petit chef videos. Each course was introduced by short animations which were cute and funny. If you know what to expect, you should enjoy yourselves at this experience.

Nice room and funny, hearty 3D show. Food is OK. Starter was very tasty, soup was good, main course was mediocre, plates got cold quickly. Dessert was delicious. For that price they could hire one more service person. You can do it sometimes, but it's also good. Without a show, you can get much better food for the same price.

We went to Le Petit Chef. It was a pretty blatant rip-off. The effective show lasts about 5 x 1 minute and was cheaply done. The food wasn't particularly good. A simple salad with a burrata, then a bisque with 3 pieces of dry fish / octopus / mussels. The main course was supposed to be a rip [sic] eye steak, but what was served was a poor quality, small stringy and overcooked (bien cuit) entrecote, with purchased Cafe de Paris sauce. Plus a few spring potatoes and some vegetables. The not so glorious conclusion was a mediocre Crema Catalana at best. It was extremely stuffy and hot in the hall, everyone was sweating like crazy. That for 129 francs per person without drinks… 49 francs would have been about appropriate. I'm very disappointed, it should have been a nice family event, but it turned out to be a very expensive waste of time.

Today we visited "le petit chef" Unfortunately it was far below expectations. First, as soon as we arrived, we were greeted by an older gentleman who seemed to be the head of the room. We introduced ourselves and asked if you spoke English, French, Spanish or Portuguese. In which you respond to us in a very rude way "Wir sind in der Schweiz, hier sprechen wir Deutsch und nur Deutsch" Translating this means that we are in Switzerland and that here they speak German and only German, so I tried to explain that I live in Switzerland but on the French side and that in a restaurant so close to France it is not normal for there to be no one who doesn't speak the slightest. French or English (so required to work in most restaurants). He interrupted me and didn't let me finish speaking, he said which table was ours and left. Afterwards, a younger boy who spoke Spanish came to assist us and who was actually quite friendly and professional, unlike the other man who seemed to always be watching us and didn't like the boy speaking Spanish to us. In other words, we felt xenophobia on the part of this rude gentleman. Speaking of prices: don't expect to pay just for the food, as the drinks are separate and quite expensive. We drink: 2 glasses of Argentine champagne = 30chf 1 bottle of water of 1.5L = 10.50chf etc... You can now get an idea of the abusive prices they charge. It was quite hot in the room and the "show" is funny but honestly it could have been more elaborate and turned off the music that repeats 20 times between dishes. In short, it cost 300chf for 2 people and it was a different experience but not worth the money spent. It is a steal. Especially when the menu says it's a price and then the drinks are paid separately and at absurd prices.

The show is very heartfelt. The food is not worth the price, huge portions and the potatoes… the meat is toe. The waitress takes the plate away from over your head and rams you into the back of your chair x times. Let's not even talk about the heat. If I had read the reviews first I wouldn't have come.

The food was not particularly impressive. I'd say it was just normal. The room was extremely warm and often people had to go out the room to get some air. The animation with the petit chef was not impressive either... Maybe more suited for kids but I was definitely expecting something else. I'd say I have had better dinners and experiences for much less money.

The concept is great, but IMO the realization is flawed and incomplete. The animations between the dishes are entertaining, but they could have been more elaborate to talk about the dishes or the history of the concept for instance. While eating, either the ambiance should revert back to normal lighting and music, or continue in the theme and have the chef appear and advertise the dishes for example, instead of playing the same music over and over again. The food was ok, but there was too much of it. The main course was sub-par, with vegetables that would have deserved more cooking time. Despite the AC being on, the heat in the room soon became unbearable. In summary, good concept but not worth it IMO.

Unfortunately disappointing, price/performance is not right. The short animations are ok, but nothing more, actually better suited for children ;) The food was average, starter ok, main course unsatisfactory (sauce burnt, meat tough, potatoes poor quality), the dessert was good. I've rarely seen so much food left on people's plates, so it seems that others didn't enjoy it either. If you consider that you pay a total of over 300 for a bottle of wine, it would have been better to go to a good restaurant. It was a gift for my husband, who was also very disappointed. In addition, the service was overwhelmed. The wine was spilled by the waiter when it was first poured, the tablecloth was neither changed nor was there a small "sorry". All in all, we would definitely not recommend this event (visit in January). But I already had a good meal in the restaurant upstairs.

We received a voucher for Christmas that we all redeemed together. We were six people, two vegetarian and 4 normal. The arrival was not as clear as expected. Since the dining room was downstairs in the basement, we didn't immediately know where to go. The employee only gave us the information: once through and down the stairs. However, we first had to find our way around the basement. For the price it would have been nice to be guided to our experience. However, when we were in the dining room we were greeted politely and the young waiter in training was very courteous and in a good mood. Unfortunately, our expectations for the actual experience were too high. The idea of projecting history onto the plate/table is absolutely amazing. However, everything was implemented very poorly. The videos were only played before the actual corridors, but only lasted about two minutes. Unfortunately, there was no coherent story either. We were all of the same opinion that the little chef was welcome to run across the table during the meal or to praise something from the next course by, for example, preparing something. In addition, vegetarians and meat eaters get the same video, which I don't think is entirely appropriate. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as hoped either. It was ok, unfortunately nothing more. The meat in the main course was almost raw for one person and completely cooked for me. It was a beef entrecote. My friends would rate the vegetarian food straight away. For the main course, the entrecote was a toffu steak that both of us left behind after two bites. For that price, you would have liked a homemade cookie on your plate. My conclusion is that the idea is awesome. Unfortunately, it wasn't carried out in a particularly creative way and you don't experience what you had hoped. If the whole thing gets an upgrade and the whole thing is reworked, I'm open to going again and seeing for myself. Unfortunately this time it didn't work.

In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is absolutely not right here... The quality of the food was rather low and we definitely expected more from the show. It's always just projecting between meals and the story is missing. We invited our families to this unique event and hoped for an unforgettable experience. This also happened, but in a more negative sense. Wouldn't recommend this because, as mentioned, the price is simply out of proportion to what's on offer. :-(

Le petit chef We were there yesterday and felt like we were ripped off. The food wasn't that great. Sometimes it didn't really taste fresh. Especially the potatoes in the main course were 😖. The waitresses were unfriendly and totally unsympathetic. Not a single smile. To me it seemed more like a clearance. We expected a little more from the show. The idea is good and it's kind of funny, but the scenes are a bit sparse and unspectacular compared to the overall time. There was also no drinks menu and we were asked to order blindly. We did that and trusted, but when we finally paid the bill we were totally shocked at the high prices. We've never spent so much at a restaurant, to be honest. We also like to go to more expensive restaurants. Furthermore, the whole thing simply took too long, the breaks between each course were too long. So from our point of view, a concept with a lot of potential. That was our first and last time. Recommendation? No way! We are disappointed.
