Le Rhin Bleu in Basel

The food sometimes lacks a little seasoning, otherwise top and fresh, perfect portion (for me)

This time there was fondue in the restaurant le Rhin bleu. It was very good, we had a great place again and, as always, the service was very friendly. A great idea in a beautiful and romantic place, great.👍🙂

Very nice atmosphere on the Rhine, almost like on a ship. Modern, contemporary restaurant: Courteous and friendly service, very professional 👍 Reservation is recommended! The three lamb chops from the United Kingdom (UK)(Wales?) were initially a little too bloody (saignant), but the kitchen grilled them again and made them very tasty. In 2024, the following dish is expected to be on the menu again: lamb chop with cherry tomato sauce, peppermint, babaganoush and rosemary potatoes (garnished with green and red basil, this offers an interesting contrast to the lamb chop). The green pepperoncini were unnecessary and not really edible. I recommend that you consider whether radish slices or honey-glazed onion rings or zucchini strips would be more appropriate instead, and it lacked the described typical peppermint that is really typical of English food. The dish is beautifully put together and completely filling. I recommend a dark beer from Basel to go with the lamb chop. Unfortunately there is no dark English beer to choose from, but a beer from Wales would also be a good option. The enjoyable experience goes some way to offsetting the emissions caused by the renovation and the noise of operations during the day and late at night. Note on the use of light garlands until 2 a.m.: is incomprehensible. Using LED lights instead of incandescent filaments would certainly be worth considering for energy efficient reasons. Perhaps you could discuss this with restaurant officials to find more environmentally friendly solutions. And... A nice voucher for consumption at the bar or restaurant every six months would be a nice thing for all close neighbors ;) www.lerhinbleu.ch for the current menu and opening times until the end of the season.

Very friendly team, great food, great atmosphere on the Rhine

A great restaurant right on or above the Rhine. In addition to the restaurant, there is also a bathing establishment, which is directly connected to the restaurant. I've been there several times for lunch over lunch. The dishes are convincing, very fine and decoratively prepared. The staff is always friendly and attentive. All in all, a really great place to stop for lunch.

Burger 🍔 was very tasty! But the portion was too small in comparison, or twice the potatoes 🥔 would have done the trick! Price/performance not consistent. Location and view great. Reservation recommended! Addendum: Fried squid 🐙 are really great!

Had a beautiful birthday lunch here today, felt like a mini vacation with the view and seating on the river. That combined with the attentive service on top of delicious if simple food combined with an interesting beverages selection means I’ll be back. Grazie mille ragazzi 🫶🥂

Went here just for a coke. You can go swimming in the Rhine. But you can do it everywhere else too. Maybe it was The section protected that you would have to pay for it and of course because of the lying that otherwise does not exist if you want to go to the Rhine on the promenade. The ambience is good, the selection of drinks is good, so you can enjoy staying here. directly on the Rhine is good. But it was self service

Little gem on the banks of the Rhine. This is Basel! I really like the special atmosphere, relaxed and informal. The food is great, although a bit more expensive. I find the sun deck very practical and since you also have the opportunity to shower, you can spend hours there. Cool location!

Very nice but definitely reserved. I only had a seat at the bar and had to queue. Not cheap but I would still try it with a reservation.

The restaurant was full and the service was friendly, present and well organized. The ambience right on the Rhine is great and it's a great and relaxed atmosphere, even with so many people. During the meal we all agreed on the presentation: the main courses were all excellently prepared. From the starter to the dessert, everyone enjoyed it. However, the meat in the burgers was a bit too coarse and therefore a bit tough. There were eight of us and we felt very comfortable. A clear recommendation!

Looking for a restaurant on the banks of the Rhine, we chose the Rhin Bleu because the reviews were good, even very good. And it was a success! Fried squid as a starter, lamb chops and chicken tagine. Accompanied by a Merlot from Marjan Simcic 2017. Everything was excellent! And thank you to the staff, especially to the waitress who spoke French perfectly and who made us feel so welcome! As for the place, it is simple but ideally located. We'll come back!

Maybe good place for drinks, but the food for dinner doesn't justify the high price. The main dish, pork, was undercooked, still had raw meat. Service was ok, nothing special, no description of the dish or anything, just order, eat and go away. The desert, an appricot tart, looked much like what you can find in migros. The atmosphere was ok, there was a load group behind us which made the conversation difficult. Never going again there to eat, maybe just drinks

We went to Rhin Bleu for the first time yesterday and will go again. Young, very friendly staff. 😀 Aperitif very tasty, good wine list and the food was fine. The selection of food could be a little larger. The ambience conveys a holiday atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

One of the best spot in Basel with a great view, a must-do on a warm summer evening. Food is ok, service is good, spot is spectacular.

Curious site. Good place to have a drink with beautiful views of the Rhine. Very relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced beer and drinks. Not the first time I visited (at the end of May) but now in June they charge to be on the platform where the bar is located.

Signing up on the website in two weeks is the only downside.

A fantastic oasis of enjoyment with very courteous service

It turns out that places in this institution are booked two weeks in advance through the website. It's crazy popular))) I really liked everything. Colorful, almost like in Odessa.

Very nice atmosphere that invites you to linger. We went for lunch over lunch and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I found the menu selection to be modest. Since I'm not into fancy ingredients, I'm deducting one star here.

Extraordinary place, you have to see it when you are in Basel. You can't eat anywhere closer to the Rhine in Basel. Unless you go straight onto a ship. A great address, especially in summer. There is a lunch menu and an evening menu. The food is good and the service is very good and attentive. The restaurant is closed from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., but the bar and kiosk are open.

While walking along the Rhine river, on a hot day, my friends and I stopped here for a few drinks. Relaxing place, with nice views for pictures. If you're not a member of the club though, you will be asked politely to leave, at 5pm. :-)

Located above the river Rhine, absolutley picture perfect, staff were friendly, warm and efficient. Couldn't possibly say which course I preferred because I loved all 3. The views were amazing. If you happen to be lucky enough to visit Basel do NOT miss the opportunity of going here

The ambience is great, the menu is rather small and somewhat special. Maybe it doesn't suit everyone's taste. But eating there once is still recommended.

Location, location, location? That would be way to short sighted, with this wonderful restaurant. The location, hovering over the father Rhine (Vater Rhein), including the rather unique possibility to swim in a major river, is by fahr not the only highlight, here on this wooden theater stage. The well orchestrated service, which is charming mix of different nationalities, and a lot of humor. The excellent food, a choice of good wines, matching the Spanish and Portuguese influenced kitchen offerings, makes it a well deserved treat for a unimaginable sun-set dinner. If your mood is more for lounging, bar style of hanging out, you guessed it, there is this choice as well. Don’t forget to reserve in advance, although the service tries to accommodate everyone, but there are limits to the seating.

Today's lunch menu was extremely good, so we plan to go to Le Rhin Bleu another time. The view is magnificent.

Good food with a great view. The only drawback is that the prices are correspondingly high.

We wanted to go for lunch and were given a time limit for a table right from the start. At the same time, we had to wait a total of 10 minutes for a drink and we ran out of time until the food came. Luckily they no longer needed the table. The atmosphere was super simple and romantic. The view is beautiful & the food tastes good, but I have to deduct one star for the long waiting time and another for the service.

Beautiful alley along the Rhine. It is very nice to walk in the evening and enjoy the view of the river. Athletes also run along the track in the morning. There is a pleasant summer restaurant "Le Rhin Bleu". The staff is attentive and polite. Near a small beach. You can visit with animals.

Had a nice dinner We are a group of 18 People eat great but you have to change something about the service team I worked in the catering industry for 2ü years, maybe hire more people, but the food is great

Fantastic location right on the Rhine. There were 4 of us there, the service staff were very friendly and competent, the kitchen was partly miserable, we ordered 2 antipasti plates very good and fresh, the main course was a burger, every McDonald's does it better, fried eggplant, carelessly arranged a cold bulgur salad that tastes like frigo and half sour without any addition, personally I order the tagliata "BLEU" what I get is 5 measly pieces of meat, fried and lukewarm, with potatoes very al dente and no trace of chimichurri, at the end the sea bream, on a plate to disassemble yourself (which is ok) with a few potatoes, you can't go wrong. The dessert was ok but not more, 1 bar, 1 ugo, 2 coffee and mineral, 260 Chf. It's a shame, the visitors to a restaurant are not all tourists or panausers, there are also people who know what Bleu means.

Worst restaurant experience in years. And in one of the most beautiful locations in the city. The service: non-existent or it was more or less actively refused. The food was sufficient to simply inedible. Absolutely beyond. Never ever again.

Great location, wonderful view and in the middle of Basel...

Positive Staff very friendly. Negative The meat served was inedible, I am a butcher myself and my partner is a chef, we had expected something different from it... After the comment, the boss was brought in….. He seemed very arrogant and was completely unresponsive to this comment. I personally think there should be more professionalism in this “price level”.

The view is amazing! The bar han nothing special to sell. You van only have either a glass of wine (so overpriced for its worth) or beer or aperol spritz. That is boring. Not many options, no interest to make it fun.
