Leopold in Meiringen

After the Aare Gorge we spontaneously went to the Steakhouse Leopold. We actually wanted a dessert, as the dessert menu looks very varied and tempting. But we decided to have dinner straight away and didn't regret it! The atmosphere was very inviting and homely. The staff is extremely warm and quick. I've never had such a big, delicious burger in front of me so quickly! It was prepared and served with a lot of passion and love! We can only recommend a visit and will definitely come back.

Google i was only in front of a hotel, not in it. Yet I have trouble with my wife. Anyway it looks awesome

We had a raclette burger at Leopold for dinner, which was very tasty. Fondue would also be served. This restaurant made a good impression, which is also reflected in the price. The location is ok and clean. The food was served to everyone (5 people) at the same time.

Crispy fish from the deep fryer. OK, that's how you do it. Remoulade probably from the big pot. Rice and frozen vegetables basically unseasoned. Convenience food without any finesse. However, the price was well seasoned. In my opinion, the target group is the one-time tourist, not the returning, happy regular customer. (Maybe another chef/innkeeper? Previous reviews were good)

Very friendly staff, our dogs got water first. Had goulash soup was very good and came quickly. Prices are not excessive.

Stupid when you ask because you aren't served after 20 minutes. You could stay decent. Or explain the situation normally. A pity. Not worth visiting.

Very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. When I got to the checkout, I was told that it was impossible to split the bill (there were 5 of us), due to lack of time. As a result, we find ourselves afterwards with a higher score of 50CHF with a score that does not concern us.

The house dessert is frozen products but nicely presented, coffee is top notch. The service was slightly unfriendly and annoying. Despite few guests, it felt like he was overwhelmed.

During our ski vacation, we went there for dinner. I'm only writing now because I've already calmed down a bit. The two cordon bleu were completely burnt👎👎pasta👉, pizza was the only thing that was edible👍. Dinner for just under 200 francs for a family of five, and we all left hungrier

The burger was raw, the service was stressed and neglected even though there were about 4 other groups only. Don’t order the burger or specify that you want it well done. Expensive for the 100g meat you get..

Service: extremely unfriendly. When we asked whether Bernese rösti was available, we were snidely told that it wasn't seasonal. Drinks are swapped. In general, the server didn't like us because he served the two older ones super-friendlessly. Burger bun is super big, meat is super small, portion of fries is also small and totally over salted. Not recommendable. They should work on their attitude and appear a little more professional.

The Leopold burger is simply brilliant. I've never had such a good burger. Crusty bread, not too many greens, good garlic sauce and the meat is great too. There could have been a little more fries. I find the price controversial, perfect for the quality but a bit too much for the quantity but overall very okay.🤝👍

Service has potential and room for improvement

We struggled with flies on our food. Me and my 2 kids and wife barely could sit down in peace as the flies were fighting us on food. Tables are not that clean. A restaurant in such a place could be much better. Burger meat was the one you buy from lidl not real fresh meat, but frozen meat ( I'm a burger expert btw). In total not recommended at all. Four meals were around 100CHF which is acceptable for Switzerland standards, but not for the service of this restaurant

Unfortunately, in addition to the not very friendly service and the overpriced food, the many flies made the time spent here absolutely unpleasant.

Looks inviting but nothing more... Waitress was about to fall asleep and didn't even say a friendly hello. 70 francs for 2 fitness schnitzels that had no taste, bathed in fat but at least a little fruit. The cola was stale and not at all drinkable. The salad bar was reasonably fresh and you could take as much as you wanted (for the small options you could supplement your hunger with the salad bar) 2 stars for the friendly chef who brought the food and the salad bar Unfortunately it has nothing to do with steakhouse I would rather cover the drunks' corner as it scares away the customers and their appetite What a shame!

A small village pub in close proximity to the S. Holmes Museum. The restaurant was almost empty when we visited, with only a few local regulars. Food excellent. Waitress strange🙈🙉. +PLUS: barrier-free access and toilets, cleanliness.

I made a online reservation but did not hear back / did not receive a confirmation. It's a nice restaurant, but has some gaps. E.g. I ordered a second beer and it has not been filled in a new Glas but the already used one. The prices are fair and the food was good.

Looks good from outside. Staff is interested more in chatting and drinking coffee, than in serving and cleaning up table. When Burger was brought to the table, there was a hair on a side. Instead of apology I heard that no one has this kind of hair in the kitchen. Burger itself is disgusting. Coffee good, straciatella also tasted good.

Steak on the hot stone with fries and salad from the salad buffet. Excellent. Boss even brought me a second hot stone at no extra charge. The apple rings with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream are also great. Price completely OK for us.

The atmosphere is quite nice. The service was very friendly and actively looked after the guests despite the restaurant being full. Without a reservation there were no more places. The salad buffet could have a bit more selection and there is sometimes a lot of water floating in the salads. The food was very tasty, we tried various meats from the hot stone, schnitzel and fish crispy. The desserts were also very good. Unfortunately, the wine selection is very limited, which is a shame. We would definitely come back anyway!

Amazing place, amazing burgers!

From a stakehouse you can expect the meat in the burger to be a homemade mix. Here, however, you get a FROZEN PATTY FROM THE GREATEST (we're guessing Prodega). The 25.- menu is rounded off with the cheapest FROZEN FRIES without bothering to at least add your own spice mixture. Service: medium motivated. For 10.50!!!!!! A 1.5L Valser PET bottle is placed on the table with 2 glasses. Coffee: Espresso had little to no aroma Cheap food. Bad service. Way too expensive.

Now being hospitable is different! Tourists are being turned away because there are supposedly no more free tables. Everything inside is empty. (Wait until an hour for the food?) It's a shame the father goes all out, the boys are a bit…………. And a steakhouse without steak 🥩? Burger 🍔 and fries 🍟, well I've eaten better burgers 🍔 and they were still juicy! Well, it's a shame ☹️ and that in a tourist town!

The pure Swiss-speaking lady who helped us did not understand that we wanted something tasty with coffee. After insisting, she gave some examples. I chose the apple strüdel and my wife a kind of nut pastry,... we thought. I got an apple strudel DESSERT!! One with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream with a small piece of apple strudel. My wife had something that looked like a sausage roll, pre-packed and very dry, containing a filling that tasted of nothing. Certainly not nuts. For all this, complete with two cappuccinos, we paid the equivalent of 22.50. Be warned!

The food was great and plentiful, only the service was so bad. It's a shame that everyone here was responsible for everything and therefore the customer was almost forgotten. We actually wanted an ice cream, but it took almost too long and we preferred to end the evening in the hotel. Hence the star deduction. Otherwise recommended.

Well...the whole thing wasn't to my taste. At least not the salad buffet. That was pretty clear. But it's supposed to be a steakhouse and they also eat meat there - but I hadn't tried it and can't comment on it. The service could speak German a little better. This would facilitate communication with the local and non-Slavic speaking population.

Food is ok. We’ve dined here a couple of times over the last few years. Prices are reasonable. Last time there however, we had to wait more than one hour for our food (table for two ppl), even after asking when we saw another table (for six) that had arrived 30 min after us, being served before we did. Service could use some improvement.

Great service, very friendly and in a good mood, there is plenty of space outside, cozy atmosphere. The food is super good and the price is right.

Unfortunately the quality is rather inferior. The Rösti were very very greasy, unfortunately the veggie burger didn't taste good at all. Rather loveless and far too expensive. A pity.
