L'Evêché in Lausanne

Very poor service. Huge wait for each request, no consideration. Although there are people at this level it is not acceptable. A requested bottle of wine that never arrived and they tried to charge us for.

Excellent fondue hat, the half and half was too strong in wine for our taste. Impeccable, friendly service at all times, for a price that is average for the city. On the other hand, very bad experience with desserts, that's not their strong point.

The restaurant is cozy and the atmosphere is very characteristic. I enjoyed the time spent at L'Evêché while dining in with two colleagues of mine. The service was ok, as the waiters were available and nice. We had to wait a little bit, but the time spent waiting was balanced by the tasty food. The fondue was very good; the bread, however, was not good at all, pretty stretchy and not so tasty. We also took a starter, but it was quite basic (very few vegetables and not very tasty). As almost everywhere in Lausanne, the prices are incredibly high and the value for money is not that good.

Very good typical cheese fondue restaurant 🧀. I recommend the mixed onion and pimienta fondue. For dessert, meringue with double Gruyère cream. Just missing the digestive offered by the boss... xxx

The fondues are extremely good! We were a small group for a company meal. Unfortunately the restaurant is very very noisy, impossible to chat easily. And the service is quite cold. We have the impression of disturbing them with the slightest question. Too bad, but maybe it was complicated that evening.

A restaurant where fondue is recommended. We opted for the typical Swiss dishes: Rösti and sausages with cabbage. Quite greasy dishes (although probably anywhere), intense flavors. The price is similar to the rest of the restaurants, dishes around 25-30 francs at least. If we come back we will go straight to the fondue

The bishopric is an institution in Lausanne, but probably you should only go there for the fondues... Accompanying vegetables "Al dente" (I call it uncooked), Ditto for the rösti which would have deserved a a little more time in the pan, and ordinary and industrial desserts... Too bad because the setting is nice...

The fondue was good and the plates were beautiful, but the staff seemed a little cold to us (possibly they were under water, because we were a large party). Overall it was OK, but could not do better!

The best Cappuccino I've ever had

Typical "Vaudois" restaurant/bistro on the outskirts of the "Cité" district of Lasanne where you can eat "fondue" and other dishes from the region.

The service was very efficient, and the servers were super friendly. We ate very well and the atmosphere was really good. All our dishes were excellent.

For years, the bishopric was at the heart of the city's pulsations. For many, especially the student population near the city gymnasium, a starting point for a social life. It was the meeting point of the social fabric that makes up the neighborhood - and more generally - the entire city center of Lausanne. Today it is the back room of a company cafeteria. The converging point is tourists who only know a place through the complacent advice of travel guides. It's to cry. The cuisine has become mediocre, the service non-existent, the atmosphere is plastic, but the managers who organize their company evenings there ensure that the bad white wine flows freely to mitigate any critical thinking. It's bad, it's bad, it's sad enough, it's depressing. P.S.: for those who believe and say that it is the best fondue in Lausanne: you do not know what a good fondue is...

We took the good moitiè-moitiè fondue, served with bread and a characteristic fork, a shame about the pieces of garlic found on the bottom which were not easily identifiable. To take it there must be at least two of you (I don't understand why if you consider that it is served in a small pan and therefore easily divisible) but I think everyone does this! Prices a little higher than average

We were deeply disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. When we arrived, despite our bags, the waiter suggested we leave them outside on the street. The staff was rude, and the service did not meet the expected standard at all. The quality of food has also declined; the tartare I ordered was not well cut, more like a steak. The fondue was very mediocre despite the funny offerings on the menu. Desserts are no longer available after 10:30 p.m., even for simple options like double cream meringue. In summary, a disappointing experience in all respects.

Decent selection of fondue in this Lausanne restaurant near the cathedral. Differente fondues like moitié moitié, tomato and truffles are recommended. Servie personel was nice and the food came fast. Selection of wine is also good.

I have been going there every year for over 10 years for the fondue. Restaurant, cuisine and servers at the top!

I grew up in Lausanne (actually went to high school across the street from L'Evéché), and it would be an understatement to say that L'Evéché was a staple, and known for its great fondue. I was excited to bring my family there (twice in fact) last summer but somehow the food was terrible. Unsure what happened, but by far the worst of our holidays. Both times.

We saw the menu and chose fondue where the price on the menu was written as 27. When the bill came because we were two people the price was double which is not easily understood from the menu nor from the waiter's explanation. In no restaurant is the price of the person listed, but the price of the portion. In a plate with a variety of meats for 4 people, the total price is always indicated, not the price per person. It is food to share. Similarly, the salad you share is not listed per person. Make it clearer or explain it properly mentioning the final price as well in order to avoid any kind of confusion especially with no-french speaking people. Too expensive for what they offer. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I'm really disappointed😞 last night I arrived at the restaurant, there were several free seats but they didn't accept me because I was alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is unacceptable behavior! I'm never going to go there!

Went here for lunch, it gets good reviews and you hear about it around town. Mostly for it's huge selection of fondue's. I ordered the Moitie-Moitie fondue, salad verte and another guest had the filet de perche. The food was fine at best, a little over priced for the quality. The fondue you can find better in town, Filet de Perche overcooked. But this is a place you go with your friends to get a casual bite and enjoy the vibe and and energy of the staff and the city. You go for the good times, laughs, and cozy atmosphere, you don't go expecting gastronomic excellence, even for the fondue which they're known for. But a great place to try many variations.

It was one of the best Swiss cheese fondues I've ever eaten. The man who seemed to be the manager was very considerate and when I asked, ``Can I have a half size?'' or ``Can I have a single portion?'', he readily replied, ``YES! of course,'' and was very kind.

Nice traditional place near the cathedral. Decent fondue, but not special. Rather pricey considering the quality of food and service. Waiter could not answer basic questions about the menu and rushed us to choose the most popular option.

Best fondue in Lausanne 🫕♥️🇨🇭 We had the beer-armagnac fondue and wow, what a nice surprise! In terms of dessert, I couldn't choose: I selected 2: apricot ice cream with apricotine and double gruyere cream on the meringue. The servers were lovely and quick even though the restaurant was full. Thank you the bishopric team ☺️

To be honest was not that bad! But we paid around 35 CHF for dishes that it'd expected to be 15 - 20! Why did I pay 2 star total? - Waiters cannot talk English - There isn't any menu in English - Couldn't find any drinks in the menu

Very popular place to have fondue. It was really tasty and filling. Place has a good atmosphere and people sitting outside to eat as well as inside. We had the four cheese fondue for 3 people, plus mini gherkins and little white onions, plus a bowl of new potatoes, which we also dipped in the fondue. Didn't need a sweet.

Great selection of fondue in this Lausanne restaurant. Good location next to thé cathédrale. We had a fondue moitié moitié and a tomato fondue. However, the waiter was a bit rude. But I will come back if I’m in Lausanne because I’m never disappointed with the food despite the service.

Good location, in the city center. It doesn't look impressive from the outside, but it's cozy inside. Plus there is an internal terrace. Good regional food. Selection of wines, there is beer and cocktails.

One of the best fondues I have eaten in Switzerland. Please don't add TOO MUCH white wine, it's always boring to eat a fondue with the omnipresence of wine which ruins all the taste of the cheese. Small downside on the service, we stayed 5 minutes when arriving at the reception without any support… Otherwise the rest is spot on, joking and smiling servers, super fast service! :)

Cozy cafe with tables right on the street, but also nicely decorated inside. The cheese fondue was very tasty! The four-cheese fondue is highly recommended. Certainly not unimportant: very nice staff with an eye for the guests.

We were looking for a traditional fondue and found this place with an amazing service and very very good fondue - the best - we have in our holidays in Switzerland. Simple and great, nice tables outside for drinks before dinner. They prepared half portion for the kids and it was very nice from them. Landi, has shown the best hospitality in town - thank you!

There is a garden inside and it is spacious!! The female staff was very friendly and the male staff member who looked like the main character of Deadpool was very cheerful. The meal here was my last meal in Switzerland and it was the most memorable and enjoyable. I had half-and-half fondue at the recommendation of a staff member, and it was really delicious with the added potatoes! Originally, it was supposed to be for 2 people, but I was glad and glad that they said I could order only 1 person because they added wine. Haha, 2 people would have been too much for a Korean. Thank you for giving me good memories!

I guess we don’t really know how to appreciate cheese fondue? It really has a very strong cheese and alcohol taste. However we had the other fried Brie and bacon recommended by the waiter. It was good.

Beautiful location below the cathedral, surprised to find a delicious seasonal “green asparagus” meal there. Warm hostel-like atmosphere, with attentive staff, and good value for money.

The mushroom fondue was nice but not outstanding... we tried the dish of the day too which they recommended, they got us wrong order though we asked for " well done" many times they got us medium , we had to wait...and it was ok after all and also 3 different waiters were there and none asked us if we need anything or if everything was ok... in general it was ok

Excellent experience in this traditional Swiss gastronomy restaurant. The truffle fondue is incomparable because it is so delicious. A very good address where the welcome is friendly and the staff are really very friendly. I would come back without hesitation if I were to be in the area again.

Very good restaurant for fondue lovers. For those who are not used to eating fondues, I recommend half and half. Otherwise, for a change, the pure Vacherin Fribourgeois fondue is great! (It is served in a hollowed out bread)

We had some great evenings here. It is without a doubt the best fondue in Lausanne. There is a wide choice of fondues (half and half, tomato, boletus, pepper, etc.), each more delicious than the last (we tested 5 types, all excellent!). A special thank you to Carlos who “knew how to pour the wine with great enthusiasm!” (J.B.). He is wonderful, we loved his kindness and his humor!

The fondues are good but much more expensive than elsewhere. On the terrace a kitsch painting, too bad it was prettier without it. Since the change of ownership, the cuisine is average. There remains the atmosphere in winter.

Summer early evening quite pleasant. The steak was good. Still quite expensive 37frs. Count 60frs with the starter and 2 cold teas 2dl and a 3fl coke without dessert. The plate would have deserved a little more vegetables. The meat was perfect and the fries were good and not enough. Remember to book in advance. And also remember to cancel your order if you don't come or come in fewer numbers, it's the least you can do for the restaurant which loses money by reserving unused seats. Personal opinion : On the other hand, from 7:30 p.m. It's really very, very noisy! Personally, I don't go out much because I have trouble putting up with noisy environments where we can barely hear each other speaking loudly.

Straight up great!! We went there without reservation on Sunday and we got lucky as they filled up very fast. Amazing staff ! Carlos is well seasoned waiter that knows what he is doing..very funny , extremely professional and entertaining even though you can tell lads were exhausted after the weekend. We had truffle fondue and beer.. ..and it was DELICIOUS!! Then armagnac was beautiful ...After dinner staff gave us comp shot and Landi, barman, was a brilliant host chatting in multiple languages. He has artifacts from all countries...it was awesome. I cannot praise this establishment enough mostly because staff but food delicious and very decent portions for a reasonable price. It is NOT TO BE MISSED WHILE IN LAUSANNE!

It was an important find on SUNDAY! The food was spectacular, they were fast, even though the place was FULL. They were very kind and suggested the best for my Father and me. It's a bit uphill (from the city next to the cathedral) but it's totally worth it. We ordered: midi/midi fondue With mixed Swiss charcuterie and baked potatoes. 10/10
