L'Oasis in Villeneuve (VD)

Poor quality price. I ordered a vodka tartare, thinking that it was going to be prepared by the chef... They brought me a tartare with a glass of vodka on the side.

The place is beautiful and seemed warm... Unfortunately, I was disappointed this time, regretting my restaurant recommendation. The head of the room must have undergone invisibility training in the meantime! He doesn't realize that new customers have been waiting for 5 minutes at reception for someone to come and welcome them. Yet there were only two tables in this empty restaurant. Thank you to his friendly and nonchalant “Thank you and have a good evening” following our “Goodbye and good evening” 😂

Beef tartare, strange presentation, with large pieces of pickles... the so-called taost, were ordinary pieces of toasted bread too bad, the presentation on the plate was ordinary, the waiter had to have a smile operation... . very cold, it seemed that his job made him really happy to serve us. We all felt stressed about eating... because of him... in short, disappointed from A to Z. I don't know if I would go back under these conditions. Because the prices are not given. It really isn’t the Oasis I knew from 2 years ago. Because I came there regularly.

What a location!! Good wholesome food and friendly service but it's the location that is the winner

Usually the food isn't too bad but tonight was a total disappointment. The specialty of perch fillets: 7 overcooked fillets, as well as the rest of the plate, everything was dry and tasteless; the tasteless orange sauce. The waiter told me that I should have asked for the fish to be cooked?! Meat ok but fish, I'm perplexed. I had never heard this one. The other dishes weren't much better. Average steak, undercooked fries. The lasagna was okay but my daughter found a hair in it. We were offered coffee, I thank the gesture.

Fast service, good food and very bright restaurant

Very good time spent in this establishment with a view of Lake Geneva. Very caring staff. Dinner (lunch meal) this December 30, 2023, 2 starters (1 x 6 oysters and 1 x 6 snails), 2 main courses (veal kidneys), 2 desserts, one of which is homemade, coffee, wine and carafe of 'water. We will definitely come back and recommend it. Kind regards and Happy New Year to those who read me.

Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, with a pontoon overlooking the lake, a magnificent view. Meals: market garden salad (varied and good plate), fresh perch fillets, meuniere style with fries or potatoes and vegetables, dessert: dark chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse. Delicious meal with sparkling water and aperitif for 180 CHF or 200 €. Take a tour of the lake via Evian... This restaurant is worth the detour. Other less expensive menus are offered. Restaurant open 7 days a week.

Beautiful menu, good service and superb location

I will try to be clear and concise. 40 francs per portion of perch fillets.... much too expensive for 7 mini fillets, a tablespoon of rice.... more than mini and three vegetables chasing each other. and all too dry. The burger also overpriced and the fries basket is way too small. Basically, a huge lack of generosity and flavors. Looks like they're saving on potatoes and rice....and everything else. A very pretty setting but a cuisine without generosity, without soul and without flavors. To avoid. There is much better for less and not far away.

Very good welcome and service but what a disappointment for the perch fillets which were too thick and dry with many bones (from Germany). In other previous years, the perch fillets were much better. We should really change supplier... otherwise the rest was good.

Very friendly staff, we asked kindly to order the wine, we were told "oh no! It's my colleague" and the colleague arrived, we just raised our hand and we received "I can't be everywhere" just pleasant. We took the fishing nets, large caliber, rest assured, or not, they come from Poland, no nets from the lake, and above all don't ask the origin, you will receive a whole reading from the waiter. The food is worthy of a beachside restaurant like a snack bar. The orange sauce, a specialty, is nothing exceptional, just the taste of orange smothered by the mass of each fillet... For the price, the visit is not worth it. Once but not twice. The only positive point is the kind attention of having brought water and a bowl for my dog.

The only advantage of this place is the view. The service and food leave a lot to be desired. I suggest taking a walk along the lake and going up to Grand-Rue to eat.

To answer your question marks, we arrived yesterday evening, a group of 6 people. 2 tables available outside, only 3 sockets inside. We came there because it says open until midnight, and the setting and everything made us want it. It was 9:30/45 p.m. We asked to be seated, we were made to wait a good ten minutes before being seated. We were ok to divide our team into 2 tables to eat and in the end we were told that the service on the terrace was over and we were seated inside. Finally they seat other people outside and serve them. But from the moment we were seated, an older employee allowed himself to speak badly to an employee in front of us - not very professional - she excuses him. We are made to wait a good quarter of an hour before taking any order, remaining very cold towards us. A friend asks if this is where they also make pizzas, the waiter tells him: no, it's nearby but if you want to go there, go there. So between the employees who pull their faces and who clearly show that they did not want us and the remarks for us to leave, so we went elsewhere and leaving Villeneuve, we pass in front of the establishment and the same waiter looks at us with a big smile to say “good evening”. I can understand that it's a busy evening, that people are tired, and make a lot of excuses to defend each person. The only thing we wanted was to have a good time in a nice setting. But the service did not help with the advertising found on Google. That's why I give 1 star for the service.

A shame! We are told that everything is reserved on the outside terrace and there a couple arrives, they say that they have not reserved and we find them a table. I'm just being factual. I never hide behind this argument but here I don't see any other explanation...: Could this be a racial crime? While the food there is more than average, I will not return or recommend. The response comment below does not answer my question. The little old “very white” couple just after us found a place on the terrace without booking…. So yes we should not cry wolf all the time, I agree and I am the first to say it but we must denounce it when it is so obvious!

We came last year and we are delighted again (almond perch and entrecôte). It’s delicious, the staff is professional, responsive and smiling. It's a pleasure! The desserts may be a little expensive...but like everywhere ☺️. Well done and see you soon

We ate this lunchtime with my husband, and we were very happy with our meal (meunière perch fillets and almonds) and we were very well served by Nicolas n°22 who is very friendly!!

We arrived at the restaurant during the week to eat. After several minutes of waiting, the waiter offered us several tables. A very nice couple sitting by the window offers us to take their table as they are about to leave. We wait and as the waiter is not very quick to bring the bill they get up and go to pay at the cash register. We sit at the table and the waiter tells us we can't sit down. I ask him why and he tells me I have to let him work and prepare the table. I explain to him that the couple got up to offer us the table and that I didn't ask for anything. That's when he gets rude. I politely tell him that if he doesn't want to work and doesn't want to have clients, he shouldn't work here... he tells me, well, you can leave if it doesn't suit you. Which I did, not without explaining to him that that’s not how we treat customers. Obviously all the other customers were watching So it’s definitely the LAST TIME that I go to this restaurant… to avoid at all costs🤬🤬🤬🤬

Place with a great view, but the servers leave something to be desired

At 3:15 p.m. I reserved a table for 7:00 p.m. for 4 people. When we arrived, at the scheduled time, our table was "not ready". We were made to wait at the entrance while one of the waiters prepared the table, even though two were already ready. Not wanting to wait at the entrance, we asked if we could occupy one of these tables and we were told that they were reserved!!! (What we did!) After some reluctance from the waiters, we were finally able to sit down. What about the dishes? The perch fillets are too expensive for the quantity we are served (7 small perch fillets) and in terms of taste, yeah, meh, it was average. It's not worth the price: CHF 39.80 for simple perch meunière fillets and CHF 40.80 with almonds! And honestly, CHF 8.50 for a mini salad?!!! Is it because it has the name “market salad”? While it was a simple mixed salad (without even rampon or rucola which costs a little more) and what's more "mini" as noted on the ticket! Really, the value for money is not there at all. Too expensive for what it is.

Tried to eat at this restaurant 2 times. Both times the host sat us down and vanished. We waited for quite a while hoping someone would show up to take our order but nothing. What a waste of time

Today 04/09/2023 around 5 p.m. I went to this restaurant with my son and my daughter-in-law, nothing to say about this restaurant. Very pleasant. As for the frankly disappointing staff, when we asked for the bill the waiter bluntly replied "you have to check with my colleague, it's not me who served you right?" for the rest we spoke to the "good" waiter, who gave us the bill and once paid not even a "thank you goodbye" In my opinion, 2 servers who had a bad day is too much. In any case, happy Easter Sunday.

We ate very well with a great variety especially with a team eating very differently (vegetarian, fish, meat). We were very well received, the lady who took care of our table loved it.

The lakeside setting is pretty and the staff are very nice but the dishes are uninteresting, the orange perch had little taste, my hot goat cheese salad had burnt toast, with burnt poppy seeds on the cheese It was not edible and the green salad with a few nuts but not very mixed. All this to end up at 80chf with water, a beer and these 2 dishes. I had indigestion and vomited after the salad so I suspect it was poorly washed. It's a shame because we feel that the desire is there but the same goes for the logo, the font of the cards is very old.
