Both spaghetti were too al dente. Also, the portions weren't that big. But the spaghetti tasted good.

The pizza was very tasty and like the pizza pond soft just good to eat. The service was very friendly.

Me and two friends were forgotten by a new waitress. We waited a total of 50 minutes for the bruscetta (starters) while other customers got their food within 10 minutes. 1 hour passed until we received our main course. Starvation inevitable. Pizza and lasagne were good, but the pasta with persto was rubbery. I definitely won't come again.

Very fine and crispy pizzas. They are also very tall. The Vitello Tonato was also very tasty. The service is tip top. You feel like you're in Italy.

Visited on Sunday afternoon. Pasta was overcooked, my friends from Italy were disappointed about the taste. White wine was delicious, and the brusquetta was ok. But all three pasta and gnocchi we ordered were just not tasty, prepared in an ordinary way. Maybe if pasta was homemade it would taste much better. So food 3/5. Also the service should know about allergens and lactose free/ gluten free food you serve.

This is a really good italian restaurant with huge super tasty pizzas an a thin dough. We enjoyed meeting with friends there - everyone of us like their pizzas.

Food was very tasty and it only took about 10 minutes to arrive. Everything was great. Pasta servings are a bit small in comparison to the pizza’s, but nonetheless delicious.

I came here with a friend during our transfer by train. We came in with a big appetite and had our food within 10 minutes. Actually everything was fine. Tasty food, large portions, good service. Highly recommended.

Despite there being a lot of people, they tried very hard to get us a place. They were really nice. Will go there again.

What can I say, the place is nice, it wasn't very full but they put us near the OPEN door of the warehouse obviously we didn't like it! We took penne all'arrabiata, unfortunately they were overcooked and tasteless, I understand that abroad you don't eat pasta al dente like in Italy but that was too much! Lasagne better but not great! I don't understand how it gets such a high score, maybe it's for the pizza, who knows!

Very slow service and non engaged waiters. This was after lunch rush so place wasnt even busy. Forgot my mains and even after three waiters walked by without checking if everything was ok. They forgot to salt the water so the pasta was bland. Wouldnt recommend!

So first of all on the positive side, the ambience is of course great. Something cool was conjured up from this cinema. But in the end we come here to eat, and I can only smile a little at the 4.4 stars on average. We were here a few months ago and rated the whole thing as average. But we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance, unfortunately this didn't work out. My rating was shared by all 6 people who sat at the table. For the price I simply expect better. 3 of us took the orecchiette, which were al dente...but unfortunately only lukewarm. In addition, the beef was tough and the sauce simply had no oomph. The pasta gorgonzola looked so lackluster, it was almost embarrassing. No my dears, this restaurant is no longer visited. I'd be better off cooking it at home...

At first I was just there for lunch. Great, crispy pizza with fine, thin dough. But be careful, it's big. VERY BIG. For two, or for pizza lovers to take away and for breakfast the next morning, it's just the thing.

Good pizza and very big, but unfortunately the service is not so good. Bringing 1 cola instead of 2, missing ingredients on the pizza, slow personnel. In the end, I can recommend this place but there is for sure room for improvement.

Service was a bit bored, spaghetti wasn't al dente, but overcooked, lukewarm, not nicely presented, instead of savory, tasteless, there was hardly any garlic on it, even though it was garlic spaghetti! Olive oil was cold and not enough. There was no bread.

We went out for dinner on a Sunday evening and there wasn't much going on. The staff was always friendly, but nothing more. Our aperitif glasses were empty from start to finish on the much too small table. I ordered a pizza, which was served after a short time, but we wanted to eat together and when I was finished, about 20-30 minutes, my companion's food arrived. It's also a shame that the employees have to be on their cell phones all the time and you had to pay close attention to get a coffee. We also noticed that there was a lot of Uber Eats coming and going, maybe the kitchen was just overloaded.

We had made a reservation for five people, but were seated at a random table that seemed free. No mention of reservations. We somehow didn't seem welcome. Afterwards we were able to place the order, but the service employee struggled to understand us. In contrast to the rest of the order, we received the salad and bruschette relatively quickly. Then came the drinks, then nothing more for ages. Plus, we couldn't all eat together at the same time. Pizza with different toppings was not served on two plates, had to be taken back and cut and the other pizza was topped incorrectly. So it happened that the four of us had practically finished eating by the time the last pizza was served. Since I already know L' Osteria from Biel, I have to say that a lot is going wrong here. There is simply no coordination or structure to be seen.

Disappointment. Very expensive prices for very basic dishes (pasta and pizza). No carafe of water, so allow 8.5 chf for bottled water.

I ordered spaghetti carbonara there. I have to honestly say the food was ok, it wasn't bad but I certainly wouldn't order it again. The prices are also very high, so I expected a little more.

We waited a long time to get something to drink because the bartender didn't speak German, he didn't understand us at all. Then we were given a round table, a long bench and a chair. One person has a lot of space and the other two sit very close together. Then we ordered, after a long observation it was a disappointment because the waitress always touched the food, what fell out, put it in and just disgustingly moved it around. Then our drink was ready, we wanted to order again, the waiter just shouldered us until we made the krick sign with our hands, then he came, we ordered and waited another half hour because we said it again. The pizza came and the others were still waiting, after a long time the second person said that it doesn't work that way, the pizza has been there for a long time and the others still haven't received anything. After a short time his food arrived and the third person was still waiting. After 1.1/2 hours the gnocchi arrived when everyone had finished eating. The gnocci with tomato sauce were burnt, just sickening. They apologized and took the gnocci off the bill. In my opinion poor coordination in the kitchen, service and management. I will never eat there again.

Food was ok 2…. x Water ordered didn't come and 2 x Parmesan ordered unfortunately didn't come either. The waitress doesn't speak German. So I don't have to go there again.

We recently had dinner there with a group. The service wasn't very good - far too much time passed before we could even order the drinks (the restaurant was almost empty). Salad as a starter was very good. But I thought it was a joke about ordering the pizza - no one in our group was allowed to order a whole pizza - the waiter always said "they are very big, it's best to have two pizzas together"......... ..I've never experienced anything like that before. No one in our group (13 people) was able to order a whole pizza - everyone got half. Personally I thought that was stupid - then make the pizzas smaller....! Why do you make such large pizzas - if the customer isn't allowed to order one?? Because they are too big?? .......I would never eat there again.

Pizza OK. Very large, but nothing earth-shattering in terms of taste... my husband's pasta was significantly better. In-house iced tea - very disappointing. Absolutely tasteless. It tasted like water... Ambience very nice! Service OK. We didn't get the food together and had to keep reminding for drinks...

Great customer focused service! There was a disappointing mixup with my order, and I followed it up with the manager. He listened carefully, was very supportive and I was extremely happy with the quality of service I received. I am pleased, because the pizza here is delicious (and huge!!) and the staff very friendly. Recommended!

Friendly service and fair prices!! I usually eat spaghetti carbonara here and drink something with it. I pay about 25.- for this The portion is relatively large. I think the price-performance ratio is very good!

Pizza in a class of its own! If you really want to go out for a good meal in the center of Basel, you will find exactly what you are looking for here. In my entire life I have never eaten such good pizza as I did here. The pizzas are gigantic in size and so is the taste. We always eat here. In addition, the service is very good and friendly. Again and again.

A customer (they knew apparently) seated at the next table got up and reminded them. Then all was well. Just wondering why the pizza is so much bigger than the plate or the plate too small for the pizza.

Food was OK, pizza was very large but tasted OK. Service disaster you have to hack and ask for everything. Highlight: Cola price 5.30.- if it was an original Cola it would be OK but unfortunately not an original Cola. Coke Zero was from a bottle which was fine. Probably not a second time.

Service, drinks and pasta carbonara was good, but the pizzas are really not recommendable. Yes, the pizzas are quite big and not that expensive, but the quality of them explains the price. The cheese was cheap, the salami on my pizza was low quality and it didnt have so much authentic flavour. It didnt taste bad, but I would not try this pizza again.

We ate this evening with our children. Super friendly welcome. For our little ones they brought pencils and drawing paper. Super smiling speaks French, dishes suitable for children and pizza for adults.... even I am a super good eater, I haven't finished it... Really a place that I recommend to everyone! Because I wanted to try an authentic Italian restaurant, I stepped through the door here. I recently tried to research how to cook bolognese, a basic item of Italian cuisine, and I hope to get some inspiration for spaghetti bolognese here. According to my Italian friends, bolognese can appear in countless exclusive flavors from different households, even though their ingredients are roughly the same. After a slightly longer wait than expected, my bolognese noodles were brought to the table. It didn't look special at all. Guests can sprinkle cheese on it as they like. The texture and taste of the noodles themselves were very much to my liking. Just the right amount of toughness and rebound to make you appetizing. Regarding the taste, I think the store has worked harder to present the delicious taste of tomatoes, as if the tongue has no time to rest, the sour and sweet tomatoes fill the gaps in tasting; on the other hand, the presentation of the meat is relatively conservative, and the minced meat has no The meaty flavor comes to the fore through an intense caramel reaction, and it's just there. Bolognese was really appetizing, and I ordered tiramisu later, which I felt very satisfied with. I don’t know if I will have the chance to come again, but I already want to go to Italy☺️

The restaurant is located in a former cinema. The rooms are spacious. I really liked the atmosphere. For dinner we had the pizza prosciutto e funghi and salami. The pizzas are huge and can easily be shared between two people. The salami half didn't impress me in terms of taste, but the prosciutto was excellent. If you're in Steinenvorstadt, it's worth heading there if you feel like having a pizza.

Huge pizza, ok not particularly special, tomato sauce relatively bland. Fresh pasta, significantly smaller portion but delicious. Special requests were accepted and implemented. Service was friendly but never came to the table, didn't ask if the food was good and was never around so you could order something else. The drink was forgotten and we were incredibly thirsty but never had the chance to say anything because there was no staff there. We later got a coffee on the house as the drink was missing during the entire meal.

Delicious food, courteous service, short waiting times for food are just some of the positive aspects of this restaurant. The only criticism: the menu said that the antipasti platter was with buffalo mozzarella. In terms of taste and consistency, it was cow's milk mozzarella. Which we found a bit of a shame. Hence a star deduction. Addendum to the visit in January 2023: This time everything was right, including the buffalo mozzarella 😊 That's why we're now giving it 5 stars. We'd love to come back. Thank you for the lovely evening. Addendum to the visit in August 2023: We were at the Osteria again and were looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed this time. The starter was great. When we cleared away the starters, we told the waitress that we wanted to wait 20 minutes for the main course. The main course “Pasta Salsicca” was probably already ready, because after 20 minutes we got almost cold pasta. We complained about this, they didn't apologize or anything like that and then told us that the noodles came straight from the pan. The boss took our cold noodles with her and came back to us a few minutes later with warmed noodles that were stuck together. It was simply no longer enjoyable and after we complained again, the boss then denied the complaint. Sorry, no answer. We paid for our drinks and appetizers and left forever. Because we never want to experience something like that again.

Food was fantastic. I had the BBQ pizza which was absolutely gigantic, but equally tasty, and my girlfriend had the pesto pasta which was also very nice. Service was quick and atmosphere was nice. They were playing a movie on the projector upstairs and we had a view into the open kitchen from our table so we could nosey into what the chefs were doing. Bit on the spenny side but such is Switzerland!

I ate at L'Osteria last week. The food was very good and the service was top 10 out of 10. There were four of us celebrating a birthday and they offered us a tiramisu. Very friendly service :) I recommend everyone to eat there once, you will be more than satisfied.
