Louis Bar in Luzern

The remodeling has taken away the charm :( The bar is no longer dim, the special black is gone, so is the old furniture and the night I was there there was a lot of cigarette smell inside the bar. I will miss the old Louis Bar

Beautiful bar, great drinks and food, great service

Great bar. In bad weather it is an excellent alternative to the beach club, the drinks are very good and I can also recommend the food. There is often live music and there is a cigar room with a large selection of the finest cigars. The decorations are very exclusive and the location with the view is an insider tip.

Was there for a flying dinner and if I hadn't had different experiences before, it would be 3 stars. I was disappointed because the venue was overcrowded as there was another group present. Something went wrong, okay, so you stand at the small bar table for the entire dinner and can hardly hear yourself. The food was always adapted to the number of participants. The fewer we were, the less there were. There was no increase in gear or at least asked for. However, full plates were transported away again. It's a shame, things were better.

Service is very courteous, the selection is sufficient and of good quality. The jam sessions have been top for 25 years. Always happy to come here.

It has been a popular place for Lucerne residents for generations. The comfortable sofas and chairs invite you to talk to your companion or others or just to reflect on your own thoughts with a drink. Regular jam sessions and a fumoir for addicts (ah, sorry: connoisseurs) round off the offer.

If you don't know the smoker lounge in the Hotel Montana, you should stop by there. A large selection of cigars and spirits in a paternoster. The Louis Bar is located in the time-honored, luxurious Hotel Montana. A cable car takes you from the lake promenade directly to the hotel. Absolute top.

Very welcoming, beautiful, well decorated. Unique landscape!!! Modern, very friendly reception staff. Wonderful breakfast, private picnic from the hotel to the center of Lausanne. Wonderful jacuzzi on the terrace. We certainly loved it and we will be back!!!😇👌

Great jam sessions are a pleasure every Thursday evening from 9:15 p.m. in the bar. Great music, a huge selection of drinks and exquisite whiskeys. It's better to be there on time. However, no one is turned away.

My favorite place when I need a break. Where else can you see the breathtaking panorama of the Alps and treat yourself to a cigar and rum. The staff is attentive and aware of guests' cravings. Sunday evening Oldies Night. Perfect.

Have been attending the Jam Sessions on Thursdays for over 20 years and they never fail to deliver: good vibes, superb music and every so often unexpectedly excellent performers from all walks of life. And that's before we talk single malt whiskeys.

Excellent ambiance. Huge variety of cocktails. Live jazz once a week. Would of being nice to have it more often though... Thank you!

Great bar, nice classic ambience and overall great service. I've been many times and it always turned out great, although it's best to call to see how full it is or if it is closed for an event. Also, I was once treated very poorly and rudely by one of the waiters, but that was only one time, all the others the service was excellent.

A decent place in and of itself. Especially for whiskey connoisseurs. Unfortunately, the better whiskeys also have their prices. I will only visit this area sporadically.

Extraordinary view of Lake Lucerne, excellent cocktails, very friendly and fast staff. Amazing atmosphere. On Sundays from 6pm there is also a deejay who plays vintage vinyl records on request. Truly a nice place. Advised.

Very nice restaurant with the best view in Lucerne. Often with live music. In summer, beach bar on the 5th floor. The Art Nouveau Hotel Montana is one of the best 4-star hotels in Switzerland. Bravo Fritz Erni. Well done!!

I think the Louis Bar is a very nice bar with a great view and a wide range of drinks. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I ordered fresh orange juice for 7.50 a glass. Well, the orange juice wasn't bad, but certainly not fresh (probably from a pet bottle), but not what I and my companions understand by fresh (freshly squeezed). When we asked the staff, we only got the answer that it was of course fresh, after all, they had just picked it up from the buffet. The waitress wasn't particularly friendly in any other way, and even when we were charged even more, namely 14.00, for the orange juice, she gave us the money back, but was only able to apologize briefly and under her breath. I was very disappointed with this visit.

A lovely atmosphere hold back in time, perfect to take distance with the stress from outside and enjoy the moment. The delicatessen is amazing. The service enjoyable. It worths a stop.

Classy experience once in a while kind of place.

Great bar with very fine drinks. Just the ride on the inclined lift is a small experience. When was the last time you came to a hotel diagonally through a slope... :-) The selection of different types of gin is impressive. The staff is professional and doesn't need a note when ordering, which is always very impressive. You almost can't taste smoke from the cigar lounge next door in the bar itself.

We had a very warm evening and enjoyed the burger!

We spent two wonderful days at the Hotel Montana. Very good 4 course menu with very friendly service... and then the excellent jazz band in the Louis Bar. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the young Hungarian super pianist. Best regards Annemarie & René Tanner

Every Sunday from October to April is DJ Michel Richter and Good Oldies Sunday in the Louis Bar in Montana. Excellent drinks and good food are served there along with good music. Cigar lounge available. Top!

Rare selection of the Balvenie scotch including a 30 year old. An amazing handcrafted telescope can be found here from time to time with which you can explore the beautiful landscape beyond the city and the night sky.

Here, too, as in the hotel, there is a clear lack of attention from the staff; it feels like it takes hours until you are noticed and then served. A certain willingness to provide service was not noticeable. No ambition to satisfy the guest. It's better to have a chat with your bar colleague than to feed a thirsty guest. The mixed drinks then arrive at the guest after a long time, without any major errors, but with prices that are rather at the upper end. It's a shame, the ambience and location could offer much more here. 2 out of 5 stars. In the hope that it will be improved.

Wine, whiskey and cigars - the selection is exorbitant, the ambience and service are extremely pleasant... Good meeting place for the start of the evening or a special "nightcap". Should definitely be part of the program here in Lucerne from time to time...

Great bar with a good selection of cigars, but the jazz noise is bad... not my thing at all...
