A great place to spend time together. We regularly play DnD at the DnD table with a 1x1 inch grid and a paintable table top.

The drinks and service were very friendly and pleasant. I think that the fact that each person has to pay 5 francs for a game is too much. For the performance price ratio, 5 francs per table/game would be enough. Drinks are in normal price ratio.

This bar combines everything a nerd's heart desires. Card/board games as well as various electrical games. The cooperation with Union Burger even makes it possible to order food in the bar itself, which is then delivered there. The cocktails are made with high-quality products and spirits, but are still fairly priced. The mocktails are also very tasty. The team is friendly and accommodating, so you always feel welcome and comfortable here. Here you can also search for DnD or Wahrhammer (etc) groups on the bulletin board, as well as meet on site for a round.

Quite a funny idea. Very similar to e.g. Gameorama game museum in Lucerne. Games and game culture mixed with community culture.👌🏻. What a shame and irritating, actually, something fundamentally wrong (the whole map), written in English. For Lüt like ig, where no one understands or reads English, very laborious. (No offense intended😇). Especially the Spis card would be very translatable, or a 2 language card would be useful and very helpful. Anders, 2nd bispieu: I would like to play Nintendo Switch in gaming. But I have no idea of ​​being stubborn etc. (I never really want to play Switch games) and I'm massively overwhelmed, which of course kills gaming fun. (Which has no sense or purpose). No, I'm an employee. He has done this in a very exemplary and successful manner👍🏻. (That's why I still see what I feel like gaming is fun again)😀😊. "Stupid"/unhappy I just heard what my work colleague (about 5 minutes later I said, around the words), again only spoke or understood English. That’s a good German thing😅. (No accusation)😇. Overall, I still think it's a "test attempt", or the whole gaming principle.😀 I'll certainly be happy with this and I'll really enjoy the Switch Challenge😊 in order to improve my general Switch gaming level. (To learn to play/learn Switch🙈😂👍🏻). Practice makes perfect🙏. Overall I would recommend a flight/recommendable.🙂 Highly recommend and will definitely come back again😊👍🏻

Nicer and better service than in an expensive Michelin restaurant. My friends and I have been big fans of ManaBar for several years. But after our visit this Friday I finally have to give it 5 stars. We were a group of 9 and the boss, Tom, was as always cheerful and personable. Somehow he found a way to squeeze us into the bar. As always, when we ordered, he gave us incredibly friendly and motivated advice about the drinks. You can tell how important this is to him. The ManaBar has a large selection of delicious drinks. You can play on PCs or on a Nintendo Switch. It has plenty of places and board games for a cozy evening. Everything at fair prices - just a 5-minute walk from Basel SBB train station. Big praise to the whole team on site. Top location.

Truly unique, a magical atmosphere, strengthened by a friendly team and very fine drinks. A highlight is the games corner where an almost limitless selection of board and board games is offered, and the basement also houses a small paradise for gamers. Also very worth mentioning; Contrary to my expectations, the prices for all the 'extras' are not only reasonable but actually very pleasant, but the drinks themselves are not overpriced but are actually a bargain for the quality and everything around them.

My favorite bar! Games and good cocktails! It's going to be a great evening here. You can get away from your cell phones and play a board game, card game or even a video game with friends while enjoying excellent drinks. There is something for every taste! The staff is courteous and doesn't hesitate to help if you have questions or can't decide on a drink. You are satisfied when the guest is satisfied. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the drinks, but it's absolutely worth it! The collaboration with the Union Diner gives the opportunity to order food to the bar. There are meat dishes, veggie and vegan dishes.

The Manabar is barrier-free accessible. The door might be too narrow for some wheelchairs, but there is no threshold at the entrance and it also has a lift to get to the basement. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you would like to play card games but cannot hold the cards yourself, it is advisable to bring a card holder from home because there is none there. What is also recommended is a table reservation in advance.

Food comes from Dominos, it's ok but they can't do anything about it. Drinks are great and the ambience is awesome

Unfortunately, the pizza we ordered only arrived after two hours. The Dominos company that was supposed to deliver to ManaBar was overwhelmed and uncoordinated. My friends who I wanted to show the Manabar to were thrilled by the atmosphere, equipment and rooms, but after waiting two hours they became suspicious. The Manabar employees and the managing director have always been understanding, respectful and professional, and our concerns have been taken very seriously. ManaBar's friendliness and effort to immediately clarify such irregularities convinced us all to come all the way back and tell other friends about ManaBar. Overall, we would like to thank all of the employees for the great experience we had in the Manabar. We recommend that every visitor to Basel check out the Manabar. That's why we give it 5 stars. -Clean rooms with many visitors -Trained and friendly staff -Equipment very satisfactory -Large terrace with a bar & top ambience -The available stations are well equipped for gamers.

As a non-nerd and gaming lover, it was also a great bar. The drinks were rather special and high quality. The ambience was pleasant!

This place is made for games, fun and excitement. Tom, Nora and the whole team make you feel like you are part of the family. The drinks are excellent. The new Pub Quiz on Wednesday evening is already part of my normal weekly routine and I rarely miss it! Anyone who likes to play (board) games is in great hands here.

Did you ever want to go to a bar and play a huge selection of boardgames for a reasonable price? Come here. They also have console games and computers. Different events taking place every week. Definitely worth a visit.

Good place, good people, good service :). Very big variety of board games or online games. Also good cocktails. The only downside would be that they don't cook here. The only option to bring in food with you is by ordering Domino's next door through their front desk. (Will add pictures the next time I visit)

The place is nice, but a Cocktail costs from like 10 to 20 CHFs and if you want to play a game you need to pay extra 5 per person. This might be reasonably priced in Switzerland, but to someone coming from basically anywhere else on the planet this would be too expensive for a casual drink and play type of bar. Good service tough.

The safe space for nerds, board game fans and gamers. Good selection of board games that you can play for a small fee with friends on site, with a cold beer or cocktail. You can also take the games with you from home and spread out at the large tables. Top!

Rude owner, ridiculous charge of 10.- CHF for ONE game of chess despite drinks for > 50 CHF. Had to wait 25 mins for simple mixed drinks. Avoid at all cost!

Great games, great cocktails (the Butterbeer is magical) and also great and friendly waiters/bartenders. There’s also gaming computers downstairs. One small recommendation: there is lot of options for drinks and they only put the cocktails on the menu. Maybe a more complete menu with options other than the cocktails/mocktails would be great!

Been here multiple times now, have never been disappointed. The staff is always accommodating and friendly and there's always a nice ambiance. If you're into games of any sort (board games, video games, tabletop RPGs), it's a must to check it out.

When we arrived we were promised that they would be with us straight away to take the order. 20 minutes later we still hadn't been served and had to ask at the bar. When we finally ordered, we waited 50 minutes for a bottle of Guinness and another 15 minutes for the drinks (all at the same table).

It took them 50 minutes for a beer in the bottle.

In my opinion the best bar in all of Basel. The owner is incredibly friendly and exudes great passion for his work. He is happy to explain the exact steps involved in preparing the cocktails and give recommendations. The other employees are also top notch: courteous, friendly and you can tell they're having fun. The selection of drinks is large and there is something for every person. Particularly worth mentioning is the homemade iced tea, which is different every time. In the bar you can play board and card games as well as digital games on PCs and consoles. There are regular events that are varied and compelling.

Absolutely fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly, service happens in a timely manner, the cocktails are excellent and its all around a great place to be in - they even provide menstruation products for free infront of their restrooms! Me and my friends try to visits as regularly as the schedule allows for. This is a business worth supporting and Basel would be infinitely poorer without it.

THE BEST COCKTAILS IN BASEL! Staff is incredibly well trained, very attentive and make sure to meet all your needs - even making the cocktails you never knew you wanted. I will be visiting regularly and I advise you to do the same. Good to know: they’re right next to Domino’s Pizza and you can order directly in-house and it will be delivered to you at your table, where you can eat while enjoying tons of board games.

The bar has a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a large selection of exceptional cocktails, priced at 12 - 19 CHF. Beer and various shots are also available, but cannot be found on the Soeise menu. You can rent board and card games for the entire evening for a fee of CHF 5. There is a wide selection of games. However, you can also sit down at a games console. Unfortunately there aren't that many tables, so I recommend making a reservation to make sure you get a seat.
