We had the Vacherin Fribourgeois cheese fondue which was delicious. It's milder than the classic cheese fondue and has a more sophisticated taste. It was a bit too little though, they could be a little more generous with the quanties. Service was very friendly, prices reasonable.

Cozy old-fashioned atmosphere. Nice personel. I can recommend it. Typical neighborhood restaurant.

What a surprise at the end of Morat Friborg to come across this good address. It doesn't look like much but we are received like kings and the cuisine is simple and tasty. Excellent to have opened on a Sunday for us runners and to offer an excellent dish of the day at 20 francs with meat and pasta, just what a sportsman needs. I had heard several times "Go to Marcello, they have the best steaks in Fribourg". I went there and the conclusion is clear: it's the truth. If you are hesitant, don't hesitate any longer and try it for yourself.

Historic, welcoming and in the center of an almost Parisian neighborhood. This little bistro exudes the simplicity of yesteryear and converts any customer into the joy of authenticity.

A friendly place and you feel good. Good menu and the dishes are very correct. Reserve a table is better.

the fondues are really very good

Fuimos a este restaurante debido a las recomendaciones que vi en internet. En esta época del año hay muy pocos turistas en la ciudad y los clientes que había en el restaurante eran lugareños, o esa impresión tuve. Eso siempre es una buena señal ya que a veces en los restaurantes atestados de turistas te dan gato por liebre. Así que pudimos estar casi seguros de que íbamos a comer comida típica suiza de verdad. La camarera que nos atendió fue muy simpática y graciosa, aunque hubo momentos en los que no me quedó muy claro si se estaba riendo con nosotros o de nosotros. Quiero creer que se reía con nosotros. Nos pedimos cada uno una fondue distinta con patatas. Ambas estaban muy buenas. Si vais en pareja sugeriría pedir una sola fondue y a lo mejor otro plato más para compartir ya que una fondue por persona puede ser mucha cantidad. El caso es que estaban muy ricas y al final nos las comimos enteras.

Mit einer Gruppe waren wir an einem Abend dort, das drei Gang Menu war vorbestellt, für alle das Gleiche. Vorspeise vorzüglich, Hauptspeise nicht nach meinem Geschmak, Dessert ging so. Service gut aber viel Lärm bei voller Bude!

Je suis aller plusieurs fois manger la fondue au fromage "Schöni". C'est juste excellent !! Très bon service et très bon accueil. Malgré la changement de patron, c'est toujours aussi bon. J'y retournerai très volontiers à chaque fois que je voudrai manger une "Schöni". J'ai toujours manger cela donc je ne peux juger les autres plats.

Arrivés à 16, adultes et ados, les tables nous attendaient dans la salle du fond. Le service fut rapide, professionnel et agréable. Fondues, cordon bleu. Très bien. Attention, il faut payer en cash.Merci pour votre sympathique accueil.

Friborg neighborhood café, good atmosphere, very warm welcome

Petit bistrot sympa, service très rapide, à peine assis, nous avions l’entrée... Plat du jour correct et bon. Service avec le sourire, très bien.

Wir hatten nur 45 Minuten Zeit zum Essen und es war perfekt! So schneller Service! Und ausgezeichnetes Tagesmenu sowie à la carte (und ebenso schnell wie das Tagesmenu!) Ich hatte à la carte Eglifilet, waren köstlich, auch die Sauce, deshalb so schnell fertig, ich kam nicht dazu, ein Supplément für die Sauce zu verlangen, da stand die Serviertochter (oder war es die Wirtin?) schon da und fragte mich, ob ich noch mehr möchte :-) Toll so ein Service ! Immer wieder gerne !

Accueil chaleureux, cuisine simple mais délicieuse. La fondue est excellente. Les vins sont très bon et il est parfois même possible en janvier de déguster des bières de Noël délicieuse provenant de Belgique ou d'autres horizons ! Merci pour ces bons moments !

Abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante ed, oltre alla carne secca, abbiamo preso anche la fonduta. A mio avviso nulla di eccezionale, ma di certo conta il fatto che noi italiani siamo un po' pretenziosi con il cibo. Personale gentile, locale molto semplice, tipo vecchia trattoria.

Familiar trade. Homemade food. The daily menu consists of a salad with a main course at a price of 16.5 Swiss francs. Tap water, like in many places, is free. The people who run the place are loving. Careful! You cannot pay by card

Always the same card, always the same quality. A varied daily menu. What looks like a village café in the middle of the city is an extremely welcoming place both for eating and drinking a beer. I have never been disappointed with the Marcello. And the staff is very welcoming.

Ci siamo fermati per un pranzo tipico della regione.Come primo abbiamo preso un piatto di carnesecca locale da dividere (molto buona).Come secondo abbiamo preso la fondue Vacherin (dosi un po scarse ma veramente buona).Con sovrapprezzo di chf 2.- si possono avere patate, cipolle e cetrioli da degustare con la fondue.Prezzi discreti ma ne vale la qualità !Consiglio vivamente.

The Marcello is one of the last remaining neighborhood restaurants. The menu offers relatively simple Swiss cuisine, but where can you still get a classic cheese slice, a decent piece of meat without any frills, or a lunch menu for under 20 francs? Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, American... You can get it anywhere in the city. But the Marcello is and remains a down-to-earth restaurant that my father liked. Glad it still exists.

Typically Friborg, good food, not too expensive. Beautiful terrace in summer in the Alt district. We don't go there to eat light, it's generous and rich, sometimes good service 😀

Manger un peu à l'écart du bruit et du centre ville. Jolie terrasse. café à l'ancienne. Restauration simple mais bonne. Patronne très accueillante, aimable et serviable. Personnel aussi. Qualité-prix très correcte. Fromage, les steak sont parfait sans supplément pour les sauces qui accompagnent, riz, frites et salades sans problèmes c'est très bon.Merci pour ces bons moments.

Good Fondue... one of the best fondues in town!

Accueil d un bistro de quartier très convivial très sympathique, très souriant, et chaleureux, un tartare de 300gr à ce relever la nuit pour en manger tellement il est bon

A midi en semaine, le Marcello propose deux menus avec salade et plat principal. A part la sauce à salade industrielle à la mayonnaise, tout était parfait: le steak de boeuf excellent, les frites chaudes et croustillantes.Quant au service, il est efficace et diligent: on n'attend pas et c'est très appréciable.

My favourite place in town to have a fondue. I grew up around the corner and it almost seams like time stopped inside the Café. The fondue here is excellent and the atmosphere is very Fribourgeois! This place should be in every tourist guide for the western part of Switzerland. <3

Bistrot des habitués située en face de la Bibliothèque Universitaire de Fribourg. Nous sommes aller profiter de l'écran extérieur pour regarder des matchs de la Euro 2016! Tout le monde se régale, service conviviale et rapide. Fondue vacherin au top au niveau goût, dommage de portions... Trop petites si tu est un grand mangeur. Par contre les steaks-frites grandes et cuissons au top!À recommander
