Mazecafes in Genève

We traveled from Friborg to celebrate a birthday there with children and friends. We had a great day. The service, the cuisine, the atmosphere were all there. We were spoiled. And the children simply had a blast in the play area reserved for them. And this in complete safety. Congratulations for your concept and your welcome.

The food is excellent and the staff are incredibly friendly!!! The terrace remains really pleasant even in winter. This place is a real treasure for families.🤍🤍🤍 BONUS: Two minutes from the water jet 👏🙌

Nice place for families with small children. And to my surprise, with a Peruvian cuisine menu. The service is not fast, the girls seem very nice, but they seemed lost. I think they could know their card better. My husband and I are in the business (hotel/restaurant) so can be a little demanding but also very understanding. I reserved a table for 4, but at first we were in a table for 2 waiting for the next table to become available, eventually they moved us. I think this is also a point for improvement. As for cooking, the guacamole is not extraordinary. The lomo Saltado was very good. The cause too. I recommend and we will come back.

A magical little piece of Peru in Geneva that deserves to be visited. Super friendly welcome, delicious and gourmet cuisine, nothing but happiness!

We arrived without reservation and without children, we were very well received and the start of the meal went wonderfully. But once the restaurant was full we waited 30 minutes to be cleared. I had already ordered a waffle for afterwards, I finally had to ask for this one as well as the water requested from the start. 25 minutes later having still not had either the water or the waffle we decided to leave and the order had not even been sent to the kitchen yet. Too bad nice place friendly staff but clearly not enough to manage a brunch with so many people. In the end we were told an amount, we asked for the bill to check and fortunately because there was an extra drink…

My daughter and I had a great afternoon. It is a very comfortable place, ideal for children and above all the quality of the food is excellent and delicious...

Good address, special mention for the well-served and original sautéed beef and the fresh fish is very pleasant, very welcoming team, fair price.

Nice cafe, I only tried a waffle which was good. The cafe area is a little small, with around ten seats indoors in winter. The big bad surprise is the games which are charged 12chf per child without being informed on arrival!! The child runs straight to the games and there we see a poster with the prices... it's a little too late for the parents... It still remains a nice concept but parents should be warned or clearly mentioned on the website.

Food is good nice place for kids to play but service was slow and a mess. The place was too crowded and tight. We ordered 4 donuts which 30 min later didn't arrive so we cancelled. They only have 1 coat rack for kids. Nice interior deco lr though.

I find it difficult to understand the good rating of this establishment. Probably because it's the only restaurant/playground in Geneva. The paid play area is indeed large and is very popular with children. The one on the ground floor is really fun for children from around 3 years old. But the basement is not very charming and even if there are cameras (not always active and not visible from all the seats), parents of very young children cannot let their children play there, less likely to slip through the back doors and abandon the idea of ​​eating with other adults upstairs. But for me, what really doesn't deserve more than one star is the organization of the restaurant and the food. The place is way too small. There is no room for children to eat sitting down. It is understood that they must eat standing up, quickly. The tables are very close to each other. The food is really average, not good. Not much choice for brunch, nor in the children's menu. We only tasted the avocado toast. A thin slice of toast of some sort, a few pieces of avocado, some small herbs and a little bit of salad taken out (in front of our eyes) from a bag. A cold soft-boiled egg (but who can like a runny, cold egg??) placed on top, therefore prepared in advance. 19 francs. The plates are stored under the branches of a plastic cherry tree (which we hope is dusted regularly) while awaiting a desperately slow service, despite the simplicity of the kitchen. After eating, another 20 hours for two coffees and a cupcake. The waitress seems completely overwhelmed and unhelpful. His tablet doesn't seem to help him much in taking orders. Not really for pregnant women (you can't change the cooking of the egg), nor for babies (no room for the stroller, no changing table). Special mention to the small window at child height which offers cakes and donuts and no healthy alternative. In short, the concept of the games room is nice, but a lot of things to review for the catering part.

The concept looks nice but execution really bad (Nov 2023 on a Sunday noon): we waited 1.20 to get our first dish served (guacamole) - staff looked badly organised and completely overwhelmed. We booked for 7 and were put on two tables of 2 people. Food in itself wasn’t tasty: avocado very hard, basic toast bread from migros, omelette very dry etc. The guacamole and the empanadas were ok. When the bill came in we noticed that they added 12chf per kid for the use of the playground (!!). We asked about it and she said it was written. We asked where. She took away some bottles and we discovered a display giving “the prices”. We complained about the service and instead of making a commercial gesture or so she challenged us (“it didnt take 1h20”). Never again.

Last Saturday we had a great chance to meet with friends at MazeCafes. Servers were welcoming and friendly! Children had such a blast on the playground! And the food, AMAZING !! Highly recommended!!

We need more places like this! Parents can enjoy nice food while kids are playing in their sight. You can tell that the place is owned and managed by people who love what they do. Will definitely come there again

The place looks nice at first, but nothing works... service is extremely slow. We were 5 people and 3 kids, and after 1h30 we still weren't served. When we complained saying the kids need to eat first, they were surprised. Is it a kid friendly place as they claim to be? None of us ate at the same time, apparently 'normal' according to the waitress who had not willingness to question herself but more finding excuses to justify the bad service. Food was average, but overpriced for what it was. Not coming again. It's an Instagram trap, nothing more than this

We went to maze this weekend and seriously it was AMAZING!!! To have such a nice atmosphere, sipping Peruvian cocktails and eating wholesome food with the kids playing (out of our sight :-) ) was just a delight. The empanadas and the ceviche the waitress recommended was delicious. We will be back...this weekend:-)

There's a nice playground for kids, but the service is borderline rude and extremely slow. We left after waiting for 20 minutes to take an order and talking with the table next to us that had been waiting for their food for over an hour, without even getting some bread for the small kids.

Don’t recommend the place. Appointment system not working. Service terrible. 2 hours waiting and the kitchen (which is 1 person) did not start cooking our simple breakfast. Place noisy with lots of kids and screaming. In response to the owner reply to my comments. Your resturant opens at 11 am on Sunday and as per your verbal apology you mentioned that your resturant booking system has a ghost answering. How can we book an appointment at 10 when your resturant opens at 11. We tried to book at 12 but your system did not allow us. No point of making excuses when you take 2 hrs and not be able to provide service. Hire more staff or don’t accept customers. Its very simple

This place is amazing for families who want a break and let the kids play while they enjoy a coffee or a light meal. The service is not very fast, they forgot one order on our table and the food is simple, but ok. Again, those things won't matter, because the kids can really enjoy the place. The bathroom could be more kids friendly (stepper for example).

Nice place for parents with little kids, as there is a little indoor safe playground area where kids can play, while parents enjoy in the quiet😬🙏💖 One improvement area would be the speed of the service, as it was quite slow🙏

Paola, the manager, is very welcoming and very friendly. She was able to create a real little cocoon, both for adults and children thanks to the different play areas. His cocktails and ceviche are excellent, you feel like home! Thank you for this pleasant moment and for your kindness :)

Disappointed with the place. I imagined it bigger for having a coffee in a pleasant way and not right next to the children's games. The service is not great and the fact of having certain play areas in the basement forces parents to go downstairs without being able to stay at the table. The prices for access to the games are also too high in my opinion: 12.- for a child who has just learned to walk, who needs to be taken care of all the time and who will only enjoy it for 1 hour?! Too bad, the place could have been very nice because that is lacking in Geneva

Our visit to Maze had started badly, difficulty with our reservation, impossibility of having a table inside despite the reservation and the deposit. The manager agrees to reschedule for another date. We had brunch on the terrace and we were really surprised by the quality of the food and the presentation of the dishes. We had a very good brunch and ate very well. The manager was very friendly and professional despite our difficulty with our reservation. I recommend this restaurant for a brunch, ideal for families because there is a games room dedicated to children (paying) if you want a quiet place, without shouting, it may be complicated because this place is dedicated to families with children.

The place is not cheap, but it offers service and tranquility to parents that are not often found in Geneva.

Good food (brunch style) in a nice location. Plenty of space for the children to play both upstairs and downstairs. The only minus is that some menu items were finished by 12.30. I will definetly come back as my son really liked the play area.

I really wanted to like this place, because I love the concept and frankly the world could do with more places like this where kids can play and adults can relax, however there were some major flaws. First of all, how can a cafe meant for kids/families only have ONE highchair?! I can't wrap my head around that one... a major inconvenience. Second was the kids menu, again this is a cafe meant for kids but only has 3 options. One being the 'funny toast', which I ordered for my son. For 7 CHF, i got ONE thin piece of basic white bread with butter and jam on it. (This was the same price as the hot dog which was actually a proper portion.) 7 CHF for a single piece of thin toast was the biggest rip-off I have experienced in awhile. Finally, the service was very slow, but honestly that bothered me less than the other two issues. EDIT/RESPONSE TO BUSINESS: You didn’t even mention my main points in your reply which is that it’s ludicrous to have only ONE highchair in the baby restaurant and that the toast is a total rip off. Also, the solution to the very limited kids menu should not be to order a full priced item of main menu. The whole point in kids menu is a smaller portion at a reduced price

The concept is very good. Unfortunately, the service is very slow, disorganized and overwhelmed by customers. Note that entry is 12chf per child which is not indicated anywhere (unlike the carafe of water which they charge you 2.50, but there, it is indicated). This adds up quickly.

You're not leaving. you crave a few things other a perfect holiday taste. This is where you have to go, everything I have tasted, a delight from drinks to desserts, everything is delicious. If I go back tomorrow and the day after tomorrow every day. When a place happens to awaken the passion in me perfect.

A priori a nice place but the shower was cold when you checked out. My son went to play in the children's games and without warning us they told us that it was 12chf. Horrible experience. The person who served us was extremely rude and annoying. She had to ask us 4 times if we wanted to eat before we even sat down. She didn't want to give us a table of 4 even though my children were 7 and 4 years old. and eat at the table! We had barely finished when she asked us to move back to one of the two adjacent tables. She kept looking at us as if we had nothing to do here because we had finished our plate. She ran her noisy vacuum cleaner between our tables. feet and several times in the cafe during the hour we spent there it was really extremely unpleasant even though we had paid 12CHF PER CHILDREN for them to play in the small games in the cafe really an unpleasant experience never had!! ! I don't recommend it at all.

Great place to let the kids play while the adults have a coffee/wine/beer. Also good menu for food. Nice playzone upstairs and toy rooms downstairs for easily hours of play. I see us coming back here a lot.

Very nice place to come with family, or with friends who also have children! There are plenty of games to keep children busy (up to about 4 or 5 years old, but not older). The price is 12 CHF per child. At the same time you can have drinks and there is also some quick food on the menu (hot dogs, cupcakes, etc.). On the other hand, strangely there is only one high chair and one changing table (in the toilets too), so that's not great, especially on busy days. Very nice waitresses and friendly atmosphere!

The food was alright. The people running it seemed nice. I guess its good for people who want to have a nice place to drink. As far as food it concerned, they need to add some nice healthy stuff on their menu too. I hear that their childrens play are in the basement is good.

Great café for parents to relax and kids to play. Fun slides and climbing upstairs, then downstairs toy play areas and mini football. Yummy snacks, cakes and coffees to drink in the beautiful café and terrace. It’s a must in Geneva!

Fantastic family run cafe where parents can sit back and relax with a coffee/glass of wine and let the kids run off some energy. Very reasonable prices, wide selection, great design and lovely atmosphere. If you can’t find a table upstairs you can sip your Prosecco outside whilst waiting for a table or just take your beer downstairs and play basketball with the kids. We’ll be back and very jealous it wasn’t my idea.

Very good idea. A café where parents can enjoy a good coffee and kids can play around. Unfortunately the first bit is missing. Coffee from a automatic machine is not something I look for when I go to a coffee shop. With some very good coffees popping up around Geneva (Luma, Boréal, Barista Lab, Birdie, Ferdinand... to name a few), it’s a pity Maze is not one of them. Also, the music that was playing was more suitable to a night club. I hope they adjust it, because the idea is really good.

Finally someone created something we BADLY needed in Geneva - a café for PARENTS!! Kids can play in 3 beautifully appointed play areas on 2 floors whilst parents enjoy yummy poke bowl lunches, cupcakes and APERO!! Spent the loveliest rainy Sunday here... kids and parents had a blast!The friendly staff offer great service. Can be privatised for kids birthdays - Good to know!

Great place for little ones with 3 play areas. To my knowledge, it's the only place of its kind in Geneva. The café offers a small menu (bowls, empanadas, cupcakes and some pastries + hot drinks/ cold.) I regretted that there was not more food on offer for 2-5 year olds. There is no age limit for the games which can be annoying for the little ones. CHF 12 per child is not cheap but given the offer for children it seems fair to me. My suggestion for the staff: offer a carafe of water to breastfeeding mothers, they will be grateful to you!
