I ordered ginger beef. Food good but expensive. It's a shame that I had a stomach problem a few hours after eating and diarrhea for two days. Never again.

The food is very tasty and the portions are big. There are options available for every taste, from meat dishes to vegetarian ones, from spicy dishes to mild ones. The service is also good. We have visited this restaurant multiple times. Only once was there a mixup of our dishes. I would say it is justified, because we were a very large group of people at that time (11 people). Hence the rating for the service.

The food was well prepared, but it tasted strange. That same evening I had a stomach ache and almost vomited. The next day I couldn't eat anything without throwing it up. Dessert was the best. I recommend panna cotta.

I have to say the ambience was Excellent and beautiful The food is in contrast to the ambience Wasn't impressive. My friends and I had afterwards Extreme stomach pain, two had to throw up the next day. So over priced but nothing really special

It's a shame, our expectations were high, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The order was mixed up and brought to another table, resulting in a 45 minute wait for the starter, which can happen and is still annoying. Main course was good, portion was almost too big with starter. When asked about the double amount on the bill, the answer was "that's per person on the card, she knows that because many guests ask the same question", it may be that this is not so clear if many guests ask the same question place? In retrospect, the starter was way too expensive for what you got. Complaints don't seem to be taken seriously, e.g. Offering a coffee at the end would have made up for a lot! But here they don't seem to have a problem if a guest leaves the restaurant dissatisfied. A further visit is out of the question for me because the complaint was dismissed on site without any accomodation. In this price segment I definitely expect better service!

This is the second time we have visited and unfortunately nothing has changed yet, it could be the last time. Price-performance service is NOT RIGHT FOR US AT ALL! Service was unmotivated and arrogant, even rude to us. We cannot recommend it.

The taste of the food was super good. We have some points to share, the Campari had way much sparkling water than needed (look the photo attached) the flavor from Campari was almost gone. We asked to bring the starter first but they brought some main courses with the starter which made it uncomfortable to eat. (We asked twice for that but still we got the food in a bad timing). It is pricey but the portions are also quite big.

“Welcome Back”, what a pleasant greeting. Top service, courteous, attentive and humorous. The food; Quality and taste, pure pleasure. My absolute favorite; the delicious Jasmin Tea Smoked Spare Ribs. No wish remained. I have been visiting the Mekong for over 8 years. Over the years, the service, quality and taste have always been of the highest quality. Maintaining this line requires a lot of work and passion. A big compliment to every single employee, you do an excellent job. Thank you very much for the enjoyable evening and the “quiet corner”.

Large and tasty portions. However, in large group, they can try better to serve all in similar time.

I was looking for Thai Garden and thought it is by mistake (or is it the same?). I guess they have to modify the Thai food to adapt it to the Swiss taste.

The food was great, but when I wanted to redeem the 50 franc voucher I had already paid for with the service manager, the apprentice was sent some time later and turned me down. The voucher could not be extended upon written request for “reasons of goodwill” because it was 3 months overdue; Corona lockdown is not a reason for goodwill for the quality managers of the Astoria chain. My 50 francs are given to the hotel chain in the hope that they will support a quality producer before they try not to manage quality.

If it weren't for the disgusting sewer smell outside, 5 stars! Food very good and service too.

Very, very nice restaurant with very good authentic cuisine. The lunch menu (especially the bento box) is always a delight. The staff is friendly, courteous and quick.

I had dinner with a friend in the Mekong. The atmosphere is very nice and you are immediately greeted politely by Jelena. The price-performance ratio is guaranteed and there is something for every taste. Jelena and her team are very friendly, accommodating and well-positioned. Everyone who comes to Lucerne - a visit to the Mekong is worth it ;)

Good evening Jelena and Mekong team I had dinner in the Mekong last week and was positively impressed. I really liked the professionalism and warm manner of the team. The food was excellent. J. served us so kindly that I would like to be served by her again.

Beautiful atmosphere, good music, fast service. Pricey for the quality of food. We have eaten much better and tastier Asian but the vegetables were fresh and well cooked

Had dinner with the family at this establishment. We all enjoyed the meals. We did not have to wait long for the waiter to ask for our drink selection and the food came only 15-20 minutes after the drinks arrived. Green Curry, Mekong Soup, Siam Rice and Mekong Noodles were all done very well. None of us could complain: food was delicious and nice portions. Definitely would return. Only reason Service was a 4 vs. 5 was that the new waiter made a mistake and brought the wrong size soup. The team there was very friendly.

The Food was beautiful to look at and especially to eat...great service with Diana, attentive and super kind.

Nice ambience. Drinks menu is not served. Then I'll just take whatever comes to mind. Service: 1:20 p.m. you look at the clock demonstratively when you ask for a seat. Lunch menu consists of a worn piece of paper/sheet. Prices a bit high. What is offered does not correspond to the price level. Above all, in terms of taste. Options to spice things up like soy sauce or hot seasoning sauce are also not available. Small, half-filled pot of green tea (bag tea) CHF 7.50. Dessert is not requested either. Oh yes: it closes in 15 minutes.

Bento boxes at lunchtime have an excellent price/performance ratio

Maybe it was due to expectations, but the experience was just ok and the price would definitely justify a more positive experience. Food ok, service ok, locally nice, but everything together was unfortunately poorly coordinated, with the cocktail being served too late, almost two minutes before the main course. Maybe we just had the Monday table...

The food is outstanding but what is going on with all the mice at the outside area ? It does not fit the level of the service and the food . I notice the crew and they didnt really did something. Very unfortunate.

First off, the service was impeccable. They accommodated our large group with multiple food allergies with much grace and care. The food is excellent. The ambience is inviting and convivial. The location is incredibly convenient to the train station, and to be honest, I had the most amazing red wine there. Do your taste buds and your spirits a good turn and enjoy an amazing meal here at Mekong!!

Outrageously expensive and cannot be justified with the food and ambience.

Nice place, friendly staff, they checked on you several times (if all is going well, if the food is nice). Prices in line with Lucerne, quite expensive even for Swiss residents. Food was pretty good, didn't like the teriyaki chicken, the rest was good!

Thai and spicy food is definitely not enough, my Thai companion was disappointed. One had the feeling that a lot of things had been adapted to the European palate. So not very authentic in my opinion, but of course I couldn't try everything. It would also be nice to assign the dishes even more regionally, it would give a little more idea of ​​what to expect I find the prices incomprehensible, some dishes are reasonable, other simple things like fried noodles are completely overpriced. The portions are huge, but that doesn't really reflect Southeast Asian food culture. A Thai group would probably be extremely unhappy about the concept of huge plated meals, which do not invite people to share and eat together due to the small tables and the lack of small plates where each person usually takes their portion from the large plate. If you don't expect an authentic Asian restaurant but rather Asian cuisine for Europeans, you're in good hands here and will enjoy it

We really loved this place from the stepping into this restaurant the staff was over and beyond their duties. Super friendly with good knowledge of the menu and drinks, attentive and professional. The quality of the food is great, served instantly. The decorations and atmosphere is really nice, also the location - super central. The only thing worth improving would be to have some more options for vegans and vegetarians as currently the menu is quite limited. We will be back anyways for sure 😊

The food was excellent as always. However, your employee named Justine made our evening a highlight. She was TOP! We last visited her about 2 weeks ago and she even remembered our order. We even drank different wines and are absolutely amazed that she remembered so well! You have a very empathetic and hard-working employee - please let it be known, she deserves it! We will be back soon and hope that you will be there again 🫶🏼

Food is great. Service is not the real thing, if you are spoken to in English in Switzerland and the service lady doesn't speak German, that is very questionable. Then another lady came. Waiting times weren't great either. The service couldn't calculate correctly either, it took 15 minutes until the table bill was taken apart and added up, and the worst thing was that it was calculated incorrectly.

Excellent Asian Visiting Lucerne with family during the week, I reserve dinner at the Mekong restaurant in Lucerne. We decide to try the Asian dishes of this restaurant which everyone recommends. The restaurant is located in the new town of Lucerne, 10 min. walk from the train station, we arrive at 6.00 pm and we are immediately welcomed, they kindly ask us if we want to leave our jackets in the cloakroom and then we are accompanied to our table. They immediately brought us the menu card, I was really curious because I couldn't find one to consult on the internet, so I photographed a few pages to publish. The choice of dishes is wide and they also have variations for vegetarians, you will want to try everything. Luckily the restaurant is not very full so we can eat in peace. Let's order the main dishes immediately: - vegi saigon noodles with tofu, pak choi, shallots, bean sprouts, coriander and mint and green curry sauce - teryaki chicken - jasmin tea smoked spare ribs All accompanied by steamed jasmin rice. The dishes were well presented, cooked well and all very tasty. The room is well furnished, with a particular, welcoming and clean environment. The staff were very kind and friendly. Fast service and good plating. Prices a little high, but for the area it is normal. We missed tasting the desserts, but since the portions were generous we were full, so that will be for next time. I also recommend offering the menu card on your online site. A visit is recommended upon reservation. We will hopefully be back again to try other dishes. Thank you Mekong for the delicious dinner!

Fantastic spare ribs that melt in your mouth and can hardly be beaten in harmony with the marinade. The beef fillet strips and the squid are also recommended. Very nice service. Unfortunately, the prices are significantly too high and would be appropriate for 2 Michelin stars. Nevertheless, I'll come back.

Service, friendliness, menu deserve 5 stars but the seating is so close that it is uncomfortable. As a somewhat round person, there is almost no chance of sitting in certain places. A pity

The food was very flavorful and delicious. We sat outside when the weather was just gorgeous. We had a couple of cocktails and a bottle of wine. Our server Sara was AMAZING. She was so kind and attentive and hard working. My only concern was the pricing, a bit expensive.

As always, an enjoyable experience. Friendly service and a good atmosphere in a well-staffed restaurant. Asian menu with fresh ingredients and super tasty. The main course portions are too big, it's better to have less and for the starter (Cesar salad) a little more than just lettuce and parmesan. UNFORTUNATELY NO MORE SUSHI! They've been worth the trip so far...🥲

The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Nevertheless, due to the DJ's loud (and bad) music, the ambience was subpar. Table conversations were very difficult because you could hardly hear the person you were talking to. Why do you have to put a DJ in a restaurant? Absolutely unnecessary.

Positive: nice service, pleasant room, beautifully decorated dishes with large portions Negative: overpriced for dishes that are very simple. A mixed plate of hors-d'oeuvres for 2 people: 58Fr!!!!! Caramel sauce almost bitter because it was burned for too long. Mojito cocktails filled with so much ice that there was hardly anything left to drink :( Big disappointment

Very nice interior compare with others in town. The bento box in lunch menu is decent. It is so interesting that they call this „bento box“ in many Asian restaurants here. Obviously bento box means Japanese style packed lunch box but this is Thai! Love the salad with satay sauce.

Value for money (portion) is great and the food is generally good. However, the (exhausting) music is much too loud, so you almost can't hear what you're talking to. In addition, the tables are much too close to each other. Unfortunately the atmosphere is not right at all.

The service is top notch as is the food. I recommend this restaurant for Asian food lovers.

Set in a five star western hotel, the food here is high quality and higher priced. Excellent flavors, but not authentic as it is aimed to appeal to tourist tastes. The decor gives it away, a mix of Mekong (typically would expect Lao and Thai) with Japanese sake sets. Still, worth a visit.

Very long waiting times, aperitif drinks came with the food. Very loud at the bar (drink mixer). Not a nice pleasant atmosphere... Food was good but not wow. Overall value for money is not true.

First time I say in a restaurant that I can’t eat that very dry meat on my noodles dish, that I barely eat and I still have to pay for it( I got a ridiculous discount on drinks) for a restaurant in a luxury hotel it can’t be more disappointed NEVER EVER THERE AGAIN hopefully it came really high I worked 10 years in the Hotellerie, so I know what I talking about. A week an still no answer standards from hostel.
