Song Pi Nong in Luzern

Was here as a guest for the first time. I ordered a classic that I have often eaten in Amsterdam: Pad Thai with green tea. The dish was prepared quickly - highlight: you can watch the food being made on a television in the dining room. The Pad Thai was okay: the vegetables still had some bite, the noodles were a little dry. The chicken was juicy - well seasoned throughout. I missed the sophistication of the dish. Overall it was slightly umami. The green tea was standard: tea bags. If you want a quick snack at lunchtime, you're in good hands here. The staff was attentive and friendly

We ordered the shrimp tom yum and Pho with shrimp. Shrimp tom yum was good, typical Thai food and not too spicy. Pho was just average. For dinner time, they open from 5 -9ish pm

Very fine and authentic food. A real treat for the palate. Also very digestible, which is a good sign of high quality. If you eat spicy, you should start in the first half of the 1-10 scale, at least I can say that for the exquisite papaya salad, which was already very spicy at level 5. The curries are unique and also great for vegetarians because they don't skimp on the tofu. Service and operation are also very friendly. Eating out is fun!

Thai lover here and we stumble upon SONG PI NONG when finding food in old town. We tried the other store Phanat Thai just a block away. We find both store very enjoyable, the different is SONG PI NONG curry is cooked to perfection, can’t rmb if it was green/res or coconut curry, additionally, they offer attentive customer service and speak fluent English. You get a ipad to look through their menu when you get seated. You then tell waiter what to order. I would recommend skipping roasted beef and the pork as they are little hard to chew in my perspective, but never hurt for anyone to try. We really love their curry here and finished all of it. Given they clearly have one of the best curry chef in Lucerne, we would not hesitate to come back. The tables and hours were limited, so we ended up going to Phanat one block away in one day, as Phanat also are pretty good- but Phanat are more street type and decorate with elephant. Both restaurant offer competitive price and is not super expensive at all.

Every menu is delicious. Thai people make it, but it's expensive.

Authentic Thai food in the heart of Luzern. Great service made the food even more better. I ordered Phad Thai Chicken and spicy glass noodle salad with seafood, tastes just like in Thailand. Will be back again!

I expect an above-average taste and a more upscale ambience. The restaurant is still well attended. Tourists and “locals” come and go here. Conclusion: The food tastes good. The restaurant employees or related personnel needs to understand that even though the location is open for a local Luzern community, most of the people who comes to the area are tourists from all around the world. My husband and I ordered red curry and a pad thai. Pad thai came out first, then after 30 mins later the waitress came by and asked if we received our food, when we said we did not, the waitress said "do you want to cancel". without a single proper apology. The waitress was blaming on the kitchen crew and it's not her fault so it's up to us to cancel the order.... I have never experienced such a horrible, and negligent customer service. I understand the cost of a dish in Swiss is 25 CHF on average however we do not deserve such a bad treatment without a proper solution. I understand it's a family owned mom and daughter business but they need to learn basic customer service skills.

Nice and clean environment. The staff is as friendly as I would expect from an always smiling people. I tried a green curry dish made with vegetables and beef, accompanied by white rice. If you like spicy cuisine you are in the right place.

Was once again in this little Thai in Lucerne! Everything was friendly until the order was placed. I was amazed at the very overpriced prices, but thought if the content was right, well... ...unfortunately not all of the vegetables that were in the description were included...otherwise very few vegetables! Unfortunately, no one came to ask! Conclusion: In an emergency, a good Thai with rip-off prices!

Delicious but very expensive for Thai people.

I haven't even sat down properly before the lady in service tells you that you have to sit closer to the table because it's very narrow. Very uncomfortable, you sit on top of each other and the smells from the kitchen are very strong. Worst Pad Thai I've ever eaten. Very bland and noodles were totally overcooked. I had to stop after less than half. Then you get strange looks if you don't want to take the leftovers with you. Never again.

Ms Poy was extremely friendly and she speaks English when we stepped into the Restaurant. She gave great service running the floor with haste and efficiently. Menu are viewed from a Samsung tab. Food smells good from the kitchen!

The food is tasty and the waiters are friendly but it's quite expensive and way too small! It was not possible to eat without having strangers sitting next to you on the same table. I would suggest to take the food at home or to reserve a place before going or it can get very crowded.

Be careful when paying with cash, the waitress tried to cheat us of $10 in change on account that we're tourists, and thus may not be completely familiar with the local currency.

I experienced the most unpleasant and absurd thing I ever experienced in Switzerland. Not even a single star is worth it, and I feel like my trip to Switzerland was completely ruined by the restaurant staff's poor handling and absurd claims. Because it was the weekend, there was a long line in front of the store, and we, a group of four, waited for about 30 minutes before it was our turn. As we were checking that our seats were being cleared and were about to go in, three Chinese people suddenly entered the store and took our seats. I was so embarrassed that I followed them in and asked if they had seen us waiting for over 30 minutes, but of course they held out their flippers and said they didn't know. Even though the Asian women who were employees saw us waiting for a long time, they made absurd claims that the person who came in first had priority. This restaurant completely ruined my image of my trip to Switzerland.

Nice little charming place in the middle of the old town. The host was very polite and helpful with good english and good patiencefor our questions and request. We ordered two bowls of soup. One was extra spicy Tom yam and the other a nice fiah soup . The soup is big enough fpr two persons. Taste was amazing with fresh ingredients just like I remember from viaiting thailand. If you wish to have a good authentic Thai meal- thats your place in Lucerne

Basically a great restaurant. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio wasn't right for us today. The spring roll for the starter was well filled and tasty, but the quality and taste of the main course, the Phat Thai with chicken, unfortunately did not correspond to what we usually got here. Maybe it was because the restaurant was very busy and the staff were stressed? Nevertheless, we'll come back again.

Great Thai resto in the heart of Lucerne. The food was amazing, and the original flavors from Thai. The staff is very friendly and nice. But the space is small, so you should be patient if in rush hour.

One of the few restaurant that opens when i visited Lucerne / Luzern on 03/01/2023. The food was nice, my favorite is the Green Curry, you can choose which meat / veggies you want with it. The Pork Neck was also good, and one of the highlight have to be the Fried Egg 👌🏻👌🏻 It’s a bit pricey for me, but maybe a normal price for the locals 😄 We ended up ordering 9 dishes and spending around 200 CHF (very expensive for a casual thai dining restaurang 😅)

Simple and small Thai restaurant but simply delicious food. Tried tom tum gung for CHF23 and was blown away by the taste. Located next to this artful building right at the heart of lucerne old town. Lady Thai waiter polite, friendly and responsive which is typical as with everyone in switzerland.

All in all magical! We managed to get a place for one night without a reservation and would have liked to stay longer, but the schedule didn't allow it. Direct location on Lake Lucerne (fantastic), including access to the water. Place very clean and organized, operator very helpful and friendly. Small cart with shopping facilities, bread service also available.

The service is very quick, a seat on the terrace was possible immediately and without any problems. The card is available via QR code on your own cell phone or tablet. The service was the worst. I waited for over an hour and checked twice to see if my order had been placed, but the food still didn't come out. After an hour, they said my order hadn't been placed and asked what I ordered. And the food that came out was not tasty. At the end of the checkout, they asked me if I wanted to pay a service tip without even a word of apology, so I almost got really angry! Worst restaurant I've eaten in Europe

We come from Malaysia to Switzerland for vacation and stop by Song Pi Nong for lunch. Our family of 6 order Tom Yam, Pad Thai, Fried Rice and Red Curries and turned out all the dishes taste amazing ♥️♥️♥️ The Tom Yam is probably the best I have ever had 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Would recommend this restaurant to everyone who are looking for authentic and delicious Thai cusine!

Delicious, authentic food! Even the spicy dishes were just the right amount of spicy for me (mind you I'm Mexican) Very convenient, it was one of the few open restaurants at around 17:30 while everything else was closed. Close to the city centre

There is no more authentic Thai cuisine far and wide. Every visit takes me back to Asia. If you don't go out to eat at peak times, you might be lucky enough to have a little more space.
