Metzgerstübli in Bern

When memory meets reality... I didn't expect something so expensive and disappointing. Only the service was nice, the food... I would never go there again.

My recent visit to Metzgerstübli was truly outstanding. The warm ambiance, attentive staff, and delectable cuisine made it a memorable evening. Kudos to the staff for their excellent service, and the food was nothing short of exceptional. A must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience!

There has obviously been a change of ownership and they continue to benefit from the very good reviews of their predecessor. However, last Saturday I was more than disappointed. The menu is massively reduced (doesn't necessarily have to be bad), but if you only have mediocre dishes, the price simply doesn't justify itself. The food was lukewarm (which I complained about) and unfortunately there wasn't much left of the good old days in my entrecote. The service (one-man operation) made a huge effort and was very, very friendly, but that no longer has anything to do with the old butcher's shop. For the Saturday we had two stars for the food (entrecote and one wild boar medallion) because the food was too cold and at a very average level. Service very good, hate to run this store alone. I'll most likely not come here again, sorry.
