Thanks for the delicious food, but I think the service could actually be a little better. We got the wrong thing twice and then had to wait a long time until someone wanted to take care of it - in the end we just took what we were given, which was a shame and not exactly friendly.

Don’t go here, please, do yourself a favour. I already felt that something was wrong by the fact that people cannot enter the place without paying first. This felt very mafia- and scam-like. I got a pistachio ice cream. I am 100% sure that they take the ice cream from the supermarket and then pretend they make it. It was awful, nothing like real pistachio. Also, CHF 4.50 is the minimum price for an ice cream that, I repeat, tastes no better than the supermarket one. Or probably that is even better than what I had here. 4.50 is normal for Zurich, I know, but what they offer is definitely not worth those 4.50 francs! To recap: very bad vibe from the beginning (man with an angry face that makes you buy stuff before even entering the place), confirmed later on when you taste the super expensive ice cream. This place should be like 1.0/5.0 on average. I don’t really understand how it has that average, either the reviews are fake or people have sadly never had good ice cream in their lives. *** Replying to the staff’s answer: uhm no, that is not true :) I was not allowed to enter the place without paying first. And other people on here have expressed having the same experience I had.

Extremely good ice cream with chocolate flakes in chocolate ice cream. Coffee was mediocre and relatively small in quantity. The service was friendly but seemed frightened. Rooms are bright, clean but cramped with a few tables. Priced at the top end.

Yummy ice cream, friendly staff but OMG it is cold 🥶 in here , but always , it’s like u r actually sitting in the ice cream freezer yourself 😳😬🥶🥶. I would definitely come more often, enjoy it more, purchase more if I could sit inside and take my jacket off …

Super authentic. The ice cream taste is very typical of Switzerland and cannot be found anywhere else.

Best place to have a nice ice cream

Was later at night when I went. Just a few people inside. Kinda spendy, but satisfied the ice cream itch. Good selection

I bought a scoop of ice cream for 4.5 CHF. Unfortunately I only received half a ball. When asked, it was said that this was a standard size. I feel ripped off, I won't go there anymore.

We have been a few times to this Movenpick but I just need to share our awful experience today - the ladies working there were extremely rude. My 8 year old couldn’t decide on a flavour (big decision for a kid) and they wouldn’t let her try 1 extra flavour! We were obviously going to buy so it really couldn’t hurt letting her sample one minute scoop. When we made our decision they served us this practically melted ice cream and charged us 10CHF for the privilege! Will take my business elsewhere from now on…

Really bad customer service. I waited in line 20min and before being able to even see the flavours, a member of staff asks me what I will order in order to pay in advance. I try to explain that I don’t know what I will order yet as I need to see what flavours they have. He tells me you can go in to see the flavours but then you will have to come back and queue again from the end of the queue. Are these people serious?

We used to love coming here to eat ice cream. From today on we will never go there again. The staff is absolutely unfriendly and plays childish power games towards the customers. Cash payments are apparently no longer accepted or were refused at the counter! The store should be replaced by a new store in which the terms « service » and customer friendliness still have meaning!

Iced coffee big and delicious. Unfortunately it is recently served in a plastic cup (including plastic cutlery). Very, very sad....Price at 15.- is on the upper limit.

Worst ice cream ever! Don’t waste your money … I had cookie and lemon , lemon one got all broken and was full of water … quite disgusting!

No comparison to before. The new system is impossible and fits better in a mid-range amusement park, but in no way does justice to Mövenpick's reputation or the location. When we arrived we were stopped to order and pay at the entrance without even seeing the counter. Finally we were allowed to sit down at a table. Although there is still a menu, there is no longer any service. Instead, you have to access a system using a QR code to order. Unfortunately, the prices and offers there did not match the physical card. The atmosphere inside was disappointing. It seemed unclean and our table was sticky. Despite the low number of visitors - half of the tables were free and there were only about five people sitting outside - cleanliness didn't seem to be a priority. The presentation and taste of the food also left a lot to be desired. As a long-time regular, I never thought I would have to write a negative review of Mövenpick. Normally I believe in only leaving positive reviews. But I think management should know what regulars really think.

Lots of choice and very friendly staff

Very tasty ice cream. But what kind of new system please? You go in, then you would first be told you should pay to a man outside then go back in and choose ice cream. On the weekend when it's busy and there's a huge queue I can understand that, but when there's nothing going on it's just a bit of a hassle.

Good variety of choices and good quality. The service can improve a lot, but everyone knows the difficulty to find people and proffessionals.

I came here on the advice of a friend, however I was really dissatisfied with my pistachio ice cream. Although they added some nuts, it still tasted artificial and was not that good. Therefore, I strongly advise tasting it before placing an order. The location is excellent and convenient to Zurich Lake. It cost 4.5 fr, which is typical for Zurich.

The quality used to be different... now, lots of staff, but they serve it in plastic glasses. This is now, and exclusively, a place for "take away" ice cream.

previously it was possible to buy a large pack to take away, now there is none, only two liters of one kind that is needed....now there is a man at the door who rams so that nothing is clear, you say him what you want, you pay, and then you tell the girl again that you paid.....mockery....and the faces of the young salesmen are eternally dissatisfied when you suddenly linger on a choice.. ..where is the old, the good Mövenpick?

Very unmotivated staff. Display looked unkempt.

You have to pay before you see the selection, the gentleman speaks broken German and gets in my way when I first want to see the varieties that are actually available because the menu outside doesn't seem to be correct. He then insults other customers first. When I then want to pay for my order, he says that I should stand at the back and refuses to accept my order. Big ego problem, totally wrong!

Despite the long take-out line, the service went quick and I was served within a few minutes even if I was behind in the line. Ice cream itself is your generic movenpick taste but they do have a wide selection. Great to a get a scoop or two before you explore the Bellevue area of Zurich. The lines can be extra long on a hot day or if there is an event in the area — which, seasonally, there is.

I never thought that I would write a bad review at Mövenpick at some point. But unfortunately it is like that. Today, Sunday June 18th, we had a very bad experience. They have a new system and the service employee at the entrance refused us entry and wanted us to order and pay for something without being seen. I asked politely if I could see the ice cream at the counter first and he just pointed to a poster in a very unfriendly manner. I told him that I have the right to see what the ice cream looks like in the counter before I buy it to take away. To which he replied that I had no right at all. In between he also argued aggressively with the customers who were in front of us. Afterwards we spoke to the boutique manager Mr. Ghazi, he was just protecting his employees and his new system, that is sometimes true but not in this case. He made us feel unwelcome and didn't apologize at all. Meanwhile, in the background, we heard them saying to the other customers that if they didn't agree, we didn't need them here. For 4 years it was our Sunday restaurant with very nice staff, but now for us it's just like a kiosk with expensive ice cream, with rude and even aggressive service. P.S.: the women behind the counter were nice and friendly, there's no question about it.

We were this afternoon and the boss and staff were extremely aggressive, the new system is not optimal, but the staff including the boss were extremely aggressive and we even wanted to call for help. We wait for a response as quickly as possible otherwise we will report further.

I always buy icecream here but I will never come here anymore. I had a terrible experience this Sunday 18 June. I don’t understand why a ice cream store need to set up two servers with pin machine in front of the door to slow down the order process , plus with bad attitude. I already paid with the lady and go in to take my order , but the guy call me out said I didn’t pay so cannot enter . I’m shocked, because the way he call me out feels like I’m a thief and wanted to steal something. He is unbelievable rude to call me out! It’s just a ice-cream shop , not a national museum or diamond shop or police station ! Why the shop even pay these people to be rude to customers?

Lovely ice cream spot. They even have different combos in the menu including crepe and waffle with ice-cream.

If you want to try the best ice creams in Zürich, you shouldn't miss out on Mövenpick!

Coconut Ice cream is like heaven

They have many wonderful flavors of ice cream here. Some are not sold in the regular supermarkets. So I usually get the exotic flavors from here. But you have to buy the big bucket which comes in 2.4L for 36 CHF. Their mint chocolate is great w a lot of chocolate, could be a bit more minty, coconut flavor is also excellent.

They are very competent and I was able to choose my gum-free ice cream thanks to a list

On April 27, 2023, I wanted to buy ice cream at 8:50 p.m. Although according to Google the store doesn't close until 9 p.m., I was told that the store was already closed. Very unmotivated staff.

Completely disorganized place. Takes ages to get ice cream. Avoid it unless you like mess and long wait time.

The takeaway cone was handled with gloves and wrapped in a napkin, but the cash register and money and change were handled with the same gloves. Considering the cost, not being able to eat the waffle is a shame!!!!

We were here briefly and were lucky enough to catch a table. The waitress, a blonde lady, was super friendly. I have not experienced such a friendly service for a long time. Keep up the good work. The Mövenpick ice cream is not for everyone, I like it. Everything was good here.

Delicious ice-cream, chaotic place

Welcome to Mövenoick Zurich where it all begins - and probably ends.... Five stars for the ice cream; One star for service and customer orientation. The order for a dessert to be consumed in-house was prepared quicker than it was entered into the system and collected. Numerous foreign guests understood the instructions on the tables (only in German) that they should not order at the counter and left the restaurant frustrated. Luckily it's February and there's still some practice to be done for the spring rush. But without me.

We were at Mövenpick am Bellevue today shortly after it opened in the afternoon. The tables were all empty and it wasn't obvious from the outside that the shop was open. The tables were not clean and the boss repeatedly helped himself to the food behind the counter with his bare hands. The toilet was missing both toilet paper and towels. It's a shame because the ice cream still tastes great.

Well, the truth is that it was Sunday and they didn't have hot chocolate left and some other things. on the menu in some caotina drinks, some had a little chocholate as gifts, others didn't, within what fits the ice cream, as always, very good and the rest well we had to choose between what was available on the menu, the service is pleasant and with lively faces, a very popular place in bellevue Zürich

Nice rest place with great ice cream

Yes for ice cream, but NO NO for a hot chocolate. I've been there several times: ice cream, desserts and coffee are excellent. The price is the average for Switzerland. At the time of visit (February 2015) I was with a friend. Service was less than average and hot chocolate was very disappointing. It was offered as the ultimate thing of their chocolate options. You get hot milk and Cailler chocolate powder which you also get at any supermarket. And they call it Traditional swiss receipt.

Best mulled wine in Zurich with a shot of Amaretto etc. for 7Chf and the shot is brilliant. 😉

Great ice creams, but that chocolate cake is the best in Zürich. Pair it with a scoop of ice cream and you will have heaven in a plate.

Disastrous service for the price. The ice cream is always delicious but the team is totally overwhelmed even though there are so many people doing it. A pity. Not good for the actually noble image. By the way, toilets don't work at all...

10/10 for staff and ice cream quality, but it was a little weird for me to have the buzzer and wait for ice cream. It felt like I am in a fast food restaurant.

Worst service ever. The served part is no longer served. When we arrived the table was still dirty from the previous guests and was only cleaned after we asked several times. The guest has to go to the counter to order (ridiculous considering that each table takes 4 steps to reach). You even have to get the menu card yourself. Payment must be made before consumption. And there is no longer free water with ice coffee. No smile, no hospitality... really disgusting. Mövenpick was once a model Swiss company. It must have been lost somewhere. It's a shame when you consider how many tourists get this bad image of Switzerland when they consume Bellevue in Zurich.

I had a Movenpick Cookie Dough ice cream and I only had 4 mini pieces of cookie dough in my ice cream. This is probably a joke, I paid 3.95 CHF for it. It looks different on the packaging. I won't buy it again

Apparently, the staff said that it's the only place/branch with mint chocolate and blueberry cheesecake ice cream. Passed this place a couple of time and glad to finally give it a try. Hot chocolate is also very rich and smooth. Staff very nice

The mint chocolate flavor does not taste like toothpaste! Mango and Cream, Coconut, Caramelita… are appropriately sweet. Chocolate and salted caramel has a great balance. Most chocolate flavors are good tbh and chocolate is chocolate! Though sorbets like passion fruit and mango was a no for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ the sour nodes didn’t stick. And their waffle’s also pretty great!

Very, very tasty, very creamy ice cream! You have a HUGE selection! One of my favorites in Zurich! Unfortunately, I find Mövenpick too expensive in terms of price.

we wait 15 minutes to order the best ice cream 6 workers and we go unnoticed we had to announce ourselves and call to order something the boy came without a greeting and with a terrible frown.

When you think of Swiss ice cream, you think of Movenpick. I chose chocolate for the classical flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. This is a busy location, so it gets quite crowded.

Nice location next to the lake. We were attracted by the smell of waffles outside the bar. In addition to the classic flavors that can be purchased in supermarkets, there are special flavors such as blueberry cheesecake and coconut. The prices are quite high, even compared to other branches of the same chain. The place is very small but there are outside tables.

Disastrous service, only take away ok

The employee wasn't all that friendly and the scoops of ice cream had a hefty price tag but it was worth it. My ice cream was very fruity and delicious!

Fantastic ice cream. Super rude male staff member. Long queue in front of Globus ice cream, hardly anybody in front of Mövenpick. So no need for stressing when serving.

I bought their ice cream and sorbet a few times from convenience store. I didn't know they had an actual cafe! I was searching for a cafe that's open after 6 ( most ice cream shops close early in Zurich), and I found this! The waffle was so delicious. Super fulufy inside and crispy outside. The chocolate and espresso ice cream were very good. The ice cream had chocolate barks in it. Their sorbets are amazing. We tried apricot, passion fruit and berry ones and they are awesome. This cafe offers to-go in a cup or cone and has a dining area for the a la cart. They have great desserts. I highly recommend the waffle. The place gets busy but moves fast. Our server was very nice.

Chocolate mint and caramel is great. The waffle is also very fresh. 4.80.- per ball is a fair price at this location. I can recommend this ice cream to everyone :)

We ordered a crepe to take away. The crepes were not freshly made, but warmed up in the microwave! We were shocked. A strange brown chocolate sauce was put on the crepes, which normally belongs on ice cream. We paid just under 20 for both crepes. Taste wise it was an absolute disaster. As a seller, I would have been ashamed to offer something like that. Just not recommended.

The ice cream here is delicious, though you can get ice cream of similar quality for much cheaper. If you don’t mind spending quite a bit more than average on an ice cream, it’s a good place to go.

We really don't know what happened! There are only 2 choices that you can choose for the glasses. In a cornet or a cup. There aren't 30 choices like cornet with chocolate or pistachio rim etc. (The ones we've seen in other locations might be timely!) Laziness is increasing like never before! Even though they have so many employees, we were told that we weren't allowed to have in Cornet. We were told: "We either have to take it in cups or (to put it bluntly) leave so we don't take anything." What's that supposed to mean? This definitely needs to be checked.

Very nice service. Large selection of ice cream. There is also optional cream and chocolate sauce. One ball costs Chf 4.20 which I think is reasonable because they are very large balls. Cream surcharge 0.60, also absolutely appropriate. Tastes great. A hot chocolate costs 5.50. Actually, it would be absolutely appropriate if it weren't so tiny. Looks more like a double espresso cup in size.

What has to happen to drop from 5 stars (two years ago) to 2 stars rounded up? It's simple: there are four of you in the store, there are two tables with a total of three guests on site. We are first made to wait forever, then the order is not taken correctly and in the meantime there are two toilet holders in the toilet, both of which mocked me with a lack of function and a yawning emptiness. Sorry Mövenpick: I expect more at THE prices. Alot more!

We went there to have a coffee outside, but the waiter said that we can sit only inside because outside service is closed. The most annoying thing was that other people were just receiving their coffee as we came. Otherwise: Movenpick has one of the best ice cream in Zurich. Just the waiter ruined our whole experience.
