Would actually be a great location. But sorry, the Securitas don't work at all, aggressive and very unfriendly. Unfortunately, that's why the Nelson makes a very bad impression. I will never recommend it again! Can it be that the Securitas are racist? That's definitely how I like it...

If you want to drink an amber for just under 10 francs, with excessively loud background music that makes you have to shout each other hoarse to have a normal conversation, you'll hit the jackpot here in this stylishly furnished pub! No really - way too expensive for so much noise! And compared to the local Quöllfrisch Dark, the amber tasted as characterless as a diluted canned beer!

40 swiss franks for these few deep fried pieces is more than just overpriced. DON'T go for the apero platter would be my advice.

My friends and I always go, we really like the atmosphere and the music of the place, excellent service especially from the waitress Iria Jiménez, very attentive, very friendly and always with a smile to the public. 🩷😎🥰🎊

Bad!!! The African at the door (security)) disrespectful to women. He thinks he's the boss there. If you don't laugh at him you won't be allowed in anymore. Last time I was there and he was very aggressive towards me. But all securities do what they want with the women and I hope they change that at some point. 6 years ago was different.!!

Classic among the bars in the city of Zurich. Everything looks the same here, and that's a good thing. Lots of seating and tables. Big bar where you can order. The selection of beer and other drinks is very good. Unfortunately the price level is too high. The security at the door are friendly and attentive.

I've been going to that place for 3 years... until last night when one of the bar security behaved aggressively and arrogantly... Thursday I was there and I forgot a bag, well last night (January 5)? time 1:30 am I approached the entrance and asked if I could come in and ask about a bag from a store) I forgot the guy, very arrogant: at this time are you coming to ask about your bag?? no you're not going in! I told him, just ask and I'll leave and he chased me the whole time, intimidating me! 1025 is the number on his security identity card, he is tall, white and with a not very long beard) the owners should take action on the matter with that! They do the same to other people! That's discrimination! such a nice bar and excellent bar staff service! but some security should correct that! because it is not right !

Always a fun place to go on weekends, good atmosphere and nice bartenders. Bouncers can be a bit annoying at times with their strange door policy due to Lady Hamilton's upstairs though. Cocktails aren't great either but decent selection of beers. It's a pub, after all...

Brilliant English pub, surprisingly atmospheric, lovely bartenders and really close to the train station, so very convenient for frequent travellers. Good selection of English drinks (and obviously Guinness). Definitely worth a visit. This bar turns into a disco/club type bar after 11pm - chairs removed, get ready to dance! Bring an ID and make sure you get a stamp on the way in. You’ll need this to get back in after smoking or going outside.

Nice pub in the middle of Zürich. Good music, good Guinness. Just keep in mind that in the evening the music might be a bit loud, so talking to unders while sitting at a table could be difficult.

Nice pub near the train station. 5 minutes on foot. It has a few too many screens for my taste. And yesterday (Sunday evening) only football was playing on it. Boring.

I've been going to Nelson's Bar for over 10 years and I really like it there, there's always a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, I was discriminated against by the bouncers today Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 8 p.m. because I am Asian? They locked me out at the entrance and wouldn't let me into Nelson's Bar, telling me I had to make a reservation even though the other customers didn't have reservations and they let the other customers in without reservations. My friend arrived later and they let my colleague in without making a reservation, but when I tried to go in with my colleague, I was turned away again with the argument that I hadn't made a reservation. Very sad that I had to go through this situation, discrimination in a bar. Unfortunately the bouncers were unfriendly!

Violent staff at the pub brutally pushed my friend around and I hope he survived for the first time. I hope he doesn't have any serious internal injuries. Important: Securitas vum Pub needs more affection, wage increase? Night supplement? Competent training! Weeding out violent employees, sorry but that can't be the reality in a pub where it's otherwise quite fun.

I was there too and I'm definitely not going there again. I hope the police still came and there are consequences for the safety of the guests. Otherwise I was very happy with the pub and went there often, even though yesterday was the last time.

Last night I witnessed a disgusting escalation. Five or so of the Securitas from the Nelson Pub hit one of them and kicked it hard. A woman kept screaming but I didn't see any police. When we went in, Securitas was super friendly and what was that!?

Hitting a person who runs out. The person was then brutally beaten on the walls, floor and other parts by the security personnel. The security staff needs training, which is by no means legal. I informed the police accordingly.

Walking around the city of Zurich I came across this venue. Decorated with Halloween trimming. I had a pint of Guinness and a double burger with fries. The girl on the bar with the English accent (who happens to be Swiss) was charming.

If you say you show the rugby world Cup final, you show it with commentary or don't bother. Having music on with no commentary and lying about it is total rubbish.

The boss (left) recently kicked me out of the club. Because I only shared my opinion at the bar!!

Right in the centre of Zurich, this place has an amazing vibe. Visited the place in the evening, and I would definitely recommend it for a night out. A great tribute to Lord Horatio Nelson, which is generally regarded as the greatest officer in the history of the Royal Navy. His reputation is based on a series of remarkable victories, culminating in the Battle of Trafalgar where he was killed in his moment of triumph.

I don't plan to go back to that bar ever again, and today I went with my brother to file a complaint. Yesterday my brother and 4 friends wanted to go in and the security told him it was full!! then they said they could wait!!! In less than 2 minutes, 8 more security officers appeared and started hitting my brother and friends for no reason, luckily there are security cameras!!! Then they did not defend themselves because these men were so big it was impossible!! Then my brother got pepper spray for no reason!! You are animals!!! and we are going to do justice!! There are security cameras! And it will be seen perfectly that this group of young people did nothing to make them be such aggressive brutes!! That is not done!! My brother was on the street for an hour without being able to breathe because of this gas! Nelson bar??? Why are they sure they hit people? Can't they take people out and get ready and not hit? Who do they think they are! They already have the complaint and the cameras will show everything!

Neither the music nor the audience has anything to do with a pub. Shishas in the pub really now people. If it weren't for the decoration...it would be more of a cheap club. It's a shame it used to be different. The music is loud, the system is bad. A cheap establishment with cheap people. If a pub needs bouncers, that says it all. No more pubs. Zero stars. Please name it to a club and redecorate accordingly.

The burger is so tiny that it feels like ripped of for the money you pay.Guys….your pub is cool…good athmosphere and the food is delicious….but the burgers are ridiculous small for the amount customers have to pay for it. Do you really need this?? Do yourselves a favor and improve on the sizes of the food…

One of the best pubs in Zurich. I recommend to everyone to visit the neslon pub. Enivorement remarkable due to Veronica & Jure. Very friendly bouncers. Food descent. Last but not least very good music .

If you’re missing English beer, this place is great, they also have bitter which is unusual here. However, they ruin the atmosphere with loud techno music before 8pm…. They haven’t looked at who is their audience on a Thursday or Friday evening, most of which are older and want to hear themselves talk and not be bombarded with loud music so early in the evening. Outside seating was already taken , we left to go next door to the roof top which was more pleasant.

They don’t do happy hour anymore. Beers are 8.50-9CHF each. It was pretty dead when we went but we played darts for free which I liked. Nice facilities, free and clean bathrooms

If I could put -5 stars I would. Absolutely despicable and awful service. They tried to rob a group of tourists by charging us for 4 drinks we never had. Once this was stated we were abused and insulted by the waitress and accused of lying. Never before have I encountered such outrageous behaviour from a venue. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful! Shame on you!👎👎👎

I've never had a good experience with this place. I had made a reservation to celebrate my birthday here. (I don't want to go but my friend is from another country. She wanted to experience this place), but the guard guarding the pub door wouldn't let me in. Said the table was full. It was funny that I had reserved a table for my birthday party. But the guard at the door of the pub wouldn't allow me, the birthday person, to enter. It's been like this 2 times already. I probably won't set foot in this place again. And I don't recommend this place.

It was actually quite okay, except for the one waitress who had a problem with us. She kicked us out for no reason even though we didn't cause any problems. She even called security to throw us out. I will never visit a bar or event like this again, Swiss Albanian Night! Nope! The lady didn't give me a name, she just referred to herself as "the blonde from Slovakia"!

This isn't a pub anymore. The music is so loud that you have to shout at each other. Really unpleasant. More of a club. A pity. Not suitable for meeting friends for a beer and chatting.

It’s alright. If you are looking for dance and party it’s a place where you can enjoy. If you are looking for a place to have a chill and a drink, it may be not the place for you. Cheers to a good life.

Guaranteed fun, lots of people of all ages, good prices for being in Zurich, all the drinks, cordial and elegant treatment, I really liked it, I recommend it.

I confirm what the other negative reviews wrote. Really strange security, they denied us entry saying it's closed but we saw many other people arriving and entering without a reservation.
