This is a darling little cabin with some of the best pizza we’ve had! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding. We showed up for an early dinner and were seated almost immediately. The venue is small so be prepared to wait if you are there during peak hours but it’s worth the wait!

Absolutely the best pizza I’ve had.Savory and perfectly seasoned with a homely feel. We had the chef’s pizza and one burrata salad. Service is impeccable as well!

Pizza was pretty damn good. We were 3 people and ordered a large and a medium already knowing it would be a lot of food. We were then surprised to see that that actually made the medium a large as well by mistake 😁. We definitely ate our money's worth! The crust and flavors of the pizzas were very good. This was the best meal we had in Jungfrau. We called in advance to put our name on the list (not sure how this isn't a "reservation"). The cabin has a cool and cozy setup. Not too thrilled with the name.

Looking for a good restaurant in Grindelwald? It's right here!! The wood-fired pizza is super delicious! If you eat one pizza and one salad, two people will eat it and then two will die. It's a bonus that the server is tall and tall.

It couldn't be more unfriendly - we've been there twice now, we live in Grindelwald - you can't make a reservation and even though there are plenty of free tables, you're forced to sit down with others - you wonder where the arrogance comes from - the pizza is so good not be enough to tolerate that

It’s a cosy restaurant. However, I found the pizza to be a little salty and lacking a bit of balance. I generally prefer well seasoned food too.

We stayed in Grindelwald for two nights and came here for dinner both nights. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant given the positive reviews on the pizza and we wanted to see if it was that good. We were thoroughly impressed and would recommend people to eat here when they’re in Grindelwald. The restaurant doesn’t take advanced reservations but you can try to call at around 5-6pm / walk in at that time to leave your name as they will start a waiting list for that evening. We arrived at 7pm to get a 8:30pm slot on a Monday evening so please expect to wait given they’re a small family owned restaurant. After our first dining experience we were amazed by the food and loved every bit of it, we told the waiter Dominic we will be coming back the next night and he was kind enough to save us a table for the second night. Chef Dominic (same name as his son) is the one creating all the magic behind the scenes! We would recommend the iced tea, green salad and the following pizzas: Rustica, La Svizzera, Seduzione, and Melodia.

Everything is just right here. Small, cozy restaurant, beautifully furnished. Very friendly and attentive staff (family business). The pizzas taste delicious. Crispy base and if it's spicy it's spicy. Dressing of the mixed salad was a dream. Insider tip: homemade ice tea is awesome! Not too sweet, not too bitter. Fruity, fine with orange wedge and fresh mint.

The place is beautiful and cozy, the pizzas are delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. We came from Mexico and they gave us an experience that we definitely recommend to other travelers visiting Grindelwald.

It took a little while for the food to come out, but the atmosphere was nice and the owner was friendly. Pizza is also very delicious. In particular, Uncle Tom's Pizza and Chef's Pizza were delicious and suitable for Korean tastes.^^ Most of the food I ate in Paris and Switzerland was not tasty, but this one was the best.....

We tried to come here this evening with my boyfriend but: 1) we waited more than 10 minutes for anyone to even look at us even though the place is small 2) people left a table of two right in front of us and the waitress saw we were waiting and still no looking / talking to us 3) I managed to finally have the cook look at me (I think he was the cook) and asked if they had a table for two and he said “don’t know… need to see!” As if I had just asked him to explain Pythagoras theorem… and finally the waitress asked the other waiter to tell us “no sorry”. I made my request in German, was answered in English, however my boyfriend and I are Swiss french and I wonder if it’s because of that we couldn’t get that empty table at 20:30… In any case, even if you’re packed, at least tell people soon so we could leave. Inefficient and worse of all, I thought it’s because we were not Swiss German that we were not served and that’s never a good felling. I never leave bad reviews without letting the people know first as I don’t think that’s fair but let’s face it, wasn’t going to wait another 10’ to tell them that they were rude….

A great pizza restaurant right next to Sunstar!! Personally, it was better than what I had in Italy. The staff are also awesome and very friendly!! The first time I went there, there was an hour wait, but I really wanted to eat there, so I made a reservation on the spot and came back (it's right next to Sunstar, so it's very convenient to rest at the hotel) If you are going, I definitely recommend making a reservation! It's a place full of local tourists. As for the menu, if you order a starter (salad) and pizza first, the starter comes out first, and after you finish eating, wait a little while for the pizza to come out! It took a while for the pizza to come out, so I recommend ordering a starter (the draft beer tastes great).

I had Uncle Tom pizza and Uncle Tom salad. The pizza was delicious and the salad was really delicious, probably because it was a wood-fired pizza. Even if it's not Uncle Tom's pizza, I think it'll all be delicious. I highly recommend this place!

The restaurant impresses with its wonderful ambience - small and... charming. The quality of the food was wonderful and the owners showed it very friendly and accommodating. However, there were some aspects that could be improved. Although us Although we were told that reservations were not possible for guests, this did not seem to apply to everyone. During our visit we observed reservations being accepted on multiple occasions. This led to unequal treatment of guests, as some had larger reservations Had tables to ourselves while we shared our table with other guests had to share. When I asked the owners they said that reservations were made have never been possible before. Another point that caught our attention was the unannounced lunch break. Despite prior telephone confirmation that the restaurant would be open from 12:00 p.m., we had to wait an hour in the cold. Finally I would like to say that the restaurant is because of its good Recommended for the food and the charming ambience. However Management should rethink the way it deals with guests and focus on one ensure more equal treatment of all visitors.

It's a shame that if you pay in dim light, it's not pointed out that the amount is 1/3 too high. Although the waiter also checks if the guest doesn't give enough. Had to stop by again after my visit. 1/3 more is definitely too much to tip

The waiters are inpolite and disrespectful. They see people waiting and just let them stand there forever without saying anythin. Reservations aren't possible, at least for "normal" people. That's what the owner's said one time, when we asked them why so many people can skip the line. Anyway, food is good, atmosphere is good but doesn't justify the rudeness.

One of the best restaurants in Grindelwald The restaurant atmosphere, food taste and price were all very good. One mini Uncle Toms pizza and one Uncle Toms salad are enough for two people to eat until they are full. I really like the chewy broccoli in the middle of Uncle Tom’s pizza! The salad and sauce are also very delicious! The beer is very smooth on the throat. The price is not very expensive either! Good

We had a great time there. The food was great especially the pizza. It’s a traditional family-run restaurant so the food takes some time to be served and the seats are quite limited. There is absolutely no racist issue as stated in some reviews. As an Asian couple, we were treated with excellent and friendly services.

Located in Grindelwald, this is a friendly and delicious place where you can enjoy pizza and beer. This is a place where you can have a really pleasant meal, with wood-fired pizza with a rich smoky flavor, friendly service, and really delicious beer. Uncle Tom's pizza and salad were both delicious, especially the tomatoes in the salad. The price was reasonable and overall it was a pleasant place to visit. There may be a lot of customers so you may have to wait. It's a place I can recommend for a meal as it has a calm atmosphere and a really pleasant view.

Long wait list, and after 2hs wait, we got finally a table. After ordering a simple pizza (the restaurant offers italian pizza) they came back with the comment that it will take longer than an hour. And they said thats normal. We of course leave the place, very upset. Probably it would have been the best pizza, we never know, but the customer care is owful. Too many turists, so they dont care. Next one in the line....🤷‍♂️👎

There is nothing wrong with eating it cooked with pork fat, and pizza made with pork fat

We ate it all pork, even the pizza was made with pork lard. The best thing is that the employee told us that it is not suitable for Muslims, so I gave them 5 stars for the service, knowing that I did not eat there, but for her honesty, as for the restaurant’s atmosphere and decorations, they are beautiful.

If you want a taste of pizza you haven't tried in Korea, come here, the quality of the pizza is the best!!

Pizza is very delicious! Be sure to go~ I was worried because there were racist reviews in the review, but you don't have to worry because they are very kind. However, you must not go in and sit down until you are informed of your seat, and you must wait in front of the sliding door. Also, it would be good to know in advance that even if there are seats left, you will have to wait outside if the kitchen and service are busy. If you eat outside, please be careful as there may be bugs such as mayflies. ah! And there is no Coca-Cola, but instead there is BB Cola(?), which is also delicious!

Ordered their Alla Diavola and Onlel Tom's pizzas and both were very good. Wait time was close to 45mins, would recommend getting on the wait list early.

The Pizza here is unique, its not like Italian Pizza, but it is delicious. I was surprised at the amount of Veggie options as well, you rarely the see choices, but Onkel Toms had a nice selection of Veggie Pizzas to choose from. The mushroom pizza was excellent. The Italian White Wine they serve is phenomenal, the owners of the restaurants spoke highly of this wine and too right, as it was fabulous. The service here was very warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We didn't have a reservation but were seated quickly. It is a small cozy place and can get busy quickly so it is worth making a reservation if possible. I saw a few reviews on google about being discriminated against by the restaurant, however we did not experience any such thing and we are Indian. On the contrary the food and service was overall fabulous and would happily come back again to Onkel Tom's. If you are in the area, I highly recommend going here for a meal.

This place was delightful. They have a beautiful and cozy restaurant, with a diverse pizza menu, plenty of vegetarian options - so something for everyone, and an amazing wine list - we had a delicious Italian white wine that we had to get the name of as it was excellent. We can see why this place is highly rated. The ingredients are fresh and they have their own take on a deep pan type pizza crust. Finally we wanted to make a point to stay the staff were very polite, welcoming and warm. We saw some bad reviews that nearly put us off from coming, mentioning that the staff may be racist but we did not experience this at all! We were a table of two Indians and they sat us immediately, and the same for the two Asian girls who came next and sat outside. We experienced excellent service from all of their staff so please don't let the bad reviews put you off. It is a small restaurant so wait times can be long (we tried coming the previous night at peak dinner time and the wait time was 2 hours understandably) so you should try come early atleast to put your name down if you want to be seated 7-8pm on a busy night.

I came here after seeing a Korean review, and I liked how cozy and friendly it was. It seems to be family run. I thought the food on the menu would be delicious, so I ordered Uncle Tom Pizza and Uncle Tom Salad. OMG 𝙅𝙊𝙉𝙉𝘼 It was delicious👏👏👍 Personally, the salad sauce was very, very delicious. I ordered Bibi Cola, but it tasted a bit like 815 Cola haha. There was no Coca-Cola. . I came around 4:30, earlier than meal time, so there was no wait, but there was no place to sit after 5 o'clock. When you first open the door and wait in front, they show you your seat. I didn't realize it, so I opened it and rushed inside... haha. I recommend it to everyone if they eat out at least once in Grindelwald. Make sure to visit.

The restaurant is right on the busy village street. You can sit in the small, lovely garden. It is lovingly designed. The guys who serve are super friendly. Pizzas seem to be a pan pizza type.

Theres no reservation. We went, put our names on the waiting list. We waited an hour then got seated outside. The mushroom pizza was really good. Margarita was ok. Staff are friendly, but service is slow, efficient though.

Overwhelmed, too many people, we waited outside for 15 minutes until someone finally came to say hello and told us to come back 1 hour later. We can understand the large crowds, we would just have liked someone to say hello to us and that it was full, rather than avoiding our gazes.

Lovely place! This place is a good option to dine in if you are in around Grindelwald. The margarita pizza I ordered exceeded my expectations, as the quality of the ingredients leveled that of elegant pizza restaurants of Italy. The atmosphere though is what makes this place one of a kind! It is located at a perfect location amidst the amazing views of the Alps, actually feels like a magical high fantasy setting like something you would see in The Lord of the Rings or Narnia.

Didn't get served. Even when another group came in after us, they were seated. As others have mentioned, it may be due to racist practices. It's really unfortunate to have this kind of non-inclusive experience in Switzerland. I wouldn't recommend coming here as it truly has poor hospitality when it comes to accepting all cultures and backgrounds.

Simply outstanding! Both the quality of the food and the service. This is a hidden gem amidst the overcrowded restaurants nearby. The advise they give ensures a great meal without overspending. They helped me pick a local wine suited to our flavor preference and we were blown away. If you are in town or even within a drive’s distance: go here.

We ended up in Tom's hut by chance on the day of arrival. The ambience convinced us because it is lovingly and rustically furnished. Since it was raining extremely heavily, we sat inside. It was early in the evening (5 p.m.) and we got a table without any problems. The service by the son was friendly and quite quick. We sat directly at the stove and had a clear view of the pizza maker (father) and the kitchen where the mother worked. The ambience conveys a bit of a living room atmosphere. We ordered the Uncle Tom's salad and two pizzas and a cake each. The salad was very tasty and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the medium-sized pizza had no taste at all. Unfortunately there was no salt or pepper on the table either. Both cakes were simply delicious, as was the beer. Since we had to wait a little longer for the pizza, we had time to observe the team. My personal impression is that the family just wants to work in peace and doesn't allow themselves to be stressed. Customers and situations that cause stress are simply prevented. Maybe there is simply no need to deal with troublesome guests here.

Pizza was ok. We first had to wait 10 minutes before we could order. Then another 30 minutes until the 2 pizzas were brought. Service staff said that was normal, they only had one man and one oven. It's not fast food. Customer friendliness feels different to me.

We arrived and the lady was very clear. No places available and no waiting list. There was no reservation! Then the man behind us, mentioned that his wife just made a reservation! This is not how you deal with customers. Treat them with respect. Of course we left this awful place!

We really loved this place. It very quaint and has very good pizza/food. The staff we interacted with were extremely friendly. They also have an extensive wine selection. Very highly recommended. They didn't take reservations when we were there. I'd recommend getting there right when they open for dinner.

We stopped there to make a reservation, but we were told they don't make reservations and use "first come, first served" policy. We came back 30 minutes later and we were first in line. After ~10 minutes of waiting, a couple walked pass us saying they had a reservation. When we were finally approached, we were informed that we could be seated in 45 minutes even though there were free tables. It seems the "first come, first served" policy has a different twist here.

Absolutely DISGUSTING customer service. Quite easily the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The manager Sonya was rude, made snide comments throughout the time I was there and even made a comment about the food being too expensive for what I can afford. I’ve never in my life heard someone speak to another person this way let alone a CUSTOMER. I made some small requests (asked for salt/pepper) and it was ignored. The minute I sat down she told me if I don’t order more I’ll be charged an amount regardless to sit down?? We ordered 2 pizzas which took 45/50 minutes to come out and we’re very underwhelming. I felt I was ignored by staff when trying to order, pay etc and she would look straight through me and serve others who arrived later. Honestly I think it’s disgraceful to speak to anyone the way Sonya and some waiters spoke to me. I left feeling very deflated and upset and it ruined my night. Absolutely not worth your time and money. There are some beautiful restaurants in Grindelwald please save your time and money and go elsewhere!!!

The pizza smelled, looked, and tasted Amazing.

Went twice on two different dates - once at 7 pm - only to be denied entry and a table saying they were full and not willing to give a table or take a booking. The attitude of the person who was answering our request for a table was so demeaning and completely discriminatory / racist. Looks like they want only locals and Europeans to come. Not one Asian, Arab, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Asian inside - although so many in Grindelwald. Would like to remind them that rejecting Asians will be your biggest mistake in days to come. Please avoid and boycott this place completely. Imagine such an attitude in the 21st century. The only saving grace was that we discovered two amazing restaurants (da Salvi's and Bebbi's) on the main road on a rebound - and don't think missed much at "Sunken" Tom's.

AVOID!! You will not get a table inside if you are NOT a local or Italian speaking individual!! Try the other Italian restaurants around instead, they are warm, welcoming and friendly.

this is the most racist restaurant in Grindelwald. Only offers table to white people and straight up refused us despite having empty tables inside on TWO days. Can’t wait for them to reply and say this is a cooked up story, but it’s not! Definitely the most horrible service here, restaurant that functions on preferential treatment only. Major contrast to the other extremely hospitable restaurants in and around Grindelwald.

It was a really delicious pizza with thin dough and the original taste of the ingredients. The employees were cheerful and friendly, and the atmosphere of the store was very nice. I was really grateful that you found the bag containing my wallet the next day!!

Web site says open until 11:00PM and no advance reservations possible (i.e. wait list only). Arrived at 8:15 to get on wait list: multiple tables were open and no other customers were waiting. Was told by hostess no tables were available and kitchen closes at 9, so it would not be possible to place my family on the wait list. They don't really want [to work for] your business. Go to Da Salvi, where you will be appreciated as a customer.

I see a lot of posts about the business owners being racist but I didn’t get that impression at all. The restaurant is very popular and so busy that it’s very hard for them to seat everyone. We arrived at 7pm and just asked for a table for two and the owner said that they were full but if we came back in 30 minutes a table should be available. We put our name on the list and came back in 30 minutes but had to wait another 5 minutes so that they could get a table set up. Once seated we ordered some aperol spritz, then 2 green salads and one medium Palermo pizza (mozzarella, ham and mushrooms). Everything was delicious and I didn’t have room for dessert. I would definitely go back to this family owned restaurant.

The taste is great compared to other restaurants nearby. I was trying to eat on the terrace but ended up having to eat inside due to a sudden rain shower. Lots of flies.

Very cute restaurant - all staff was super nice and helpful with recommendations. The pizza was so good. Very thin crust. It was a light pizza - which we really enjoyed. They offered interesting topping choices. We tried a pizza with goat cheese, figs, local sausage and pin nuts and it was so delicious. We will be thinking about this meal for a while.

A very nice restaurant and the staff are friendly and quick. The salad really tasted great, but unfortunately the pizza just “worked like that”. It looks better than it tastes (too greasy, base too crumbly, topping tastes boring, no seasoning). I don't regret it, but I wouldn't come back.

Very bad experience with this restaurant! We were not given a table for 2 even though there were plenty of tables on the terrace. Apart from that, they did not give us any reason for not wanting to let us in, they just told us they can't give us a table for 2, although there was another group of 7 people for whom there was a table (even if they did not have reservation either). I guess 7 people is better than 2 in terms of profit, money. Very bad experience, which left us with a bad taste...do not recommended. I guess they can afford to refuse letting people in.

I went to a Korean restaurant haha. The spiciness is very spicy, even by the standards of good taste for yeoptteok, so be careful haha. The owner is really friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable.

Very nice pizza restaurant with a cute intimate patio. I had the Parma pizza and it was thin crusted and tasty and more than enough for one person. The service was great and attentive. Prices were quite reasonable (everything in Switzerland is expensive). There is a great ambience about the place and many patrons were enjoying the views of the Eiger while sipping on their wine. Definitely a place I would recommend for the food value, service and ambience.

Situated 2 mins away from the Grindelward Gondola that brings you up to First. Nice and cosy, seemingly family owned. If you're looking to slay that pizza craving, ignore the other "best in town" pizzerias and head straight to Onkel Tom's. Every single pie is too good. Food service was slow at peak hours but trust me, it will be worth the wait.

The wait was a bit challenging but it makes sense because this home style pizza place is run by the most charming family!!! Food takes a while to arrive but it doesn’t even matter because they are so friendly and the vibe is so nice. We even got recommendations from them for a hike that would be off the beaten path from tourists. HIGHLY recommend going here. Just know they don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait a little for your table.

Evening meal: 4 friends + 4 pizzas + 1 carafe of water = 10min wait to take the order, 60min wait to be served!?😴 When it was time to pay, it was not the one who served us but the manager who took care of us. According to the receipt: the carafe costs CHF 7.20! Shameful!😡 In short, I don't know if it was our skin color, hair color (redhead) or our language (we are French) that accommodated them so much, but our feeling in return is not good.👎 A big Big UP for the cook, 3/4 of us enjoyed our pizzas! 👌😋 Certainly, almost all of us enjoyed ourselves, but before recommending this establishment, we must keep 3 things in mind: - Choose your pizza wisely! - Be patient, very patient! - And check the note (receipt)!
