I was there for dinner. Restaurant was closed, so eat in the lounge. So you can't criticize that. I was disappointed with Zurich Geschnetzeltes. There was very little meat and not particularly tender. The rösti was still full of fat. The rest was good. However: does it all have to be so expensive for this relatively “normal” quality? I was invited to a business lunch in the Parkhuus. When I arrived I was just welcomed, but unfortunately I couldn't initially communicate with the staff in a local language. The restaurant was almost empty that day and we sat inside because the weather wasn't ideal. There was a very unpleasant draft where we were seated because the glass door was open - and cigar smoke wafted into the restaurant from outside. Objected - closed/objected - closed. Sure, we could have said on our own that we would like to sit at a different table... The food was nicely prepared, but it didn't convince me in terms of taste, quantity or how well the meat was cooked. The absolute low point, however, was when the waiter handed out my bottle of mineral water (I had already drunk about 1/2 liter of it) to the table next door, pointing out that it wasn't our bottle. Long story short: luckily I was invited and didn't have to pay, because for around 100 Fr./person for a salad and a main course with free water, I expect a better overall experience...

30 min waiting for bread, 45 min wait for one appetiser, 90 min wait for the main dish (steak) that never came…so we left. Not to mention that the staff did not even care of the poor experience they were delivering. Total disaster, never to try it ever again! In a city full of great restaurants, to waste time for such poor service with very high prices makes no sence.

Disappointing end to end. Most tiny plates probably in town. Ridiculously small. We are talking about tens of gramms for a main dish. Wine selection by the glas just horrible recommended and the guy wanted to sell sulfide,and acid smelling wine as bio dynamic characteristics as a choice. Prices are so ridiculous!!! ...it was a place to go - for business and private, but no longer. Try anything else. Baur au lac a few meters away. You would have loved the pictures but I was there for business.

Wow! As a Zürcher i always walked by but thought to not go as it is too touristy. I read about the chef and decided to treat myself and try it out. Ingredients, flavors and dishes were incredible. Starting with crisp, light, slightly asian and continuing with heavier flavors like pigeon was amazing. Everything was very well balanced. The chef (Tarik Lange) is a gem and will soon be “bought” elsewhere. In Zurich there are many young, experiential chefs at the moment but they do not have the delicate vision and precision as Tarik has. What did bother me is the lack of ambience. A very old-school American type of interior (hyatt) with fake candles and staff wearing black suits from 1932. Make it sexy people!! This food is worth more then a corporate buying a good chef. Re-design the restaurant, new uniforms, new music and you have a restaurant which will be full every evening!

One of the worst experience. We went for dinner, ordered herb salad and 2 main courses with side dish. Didn’t finished anything. The salad was spoiled with the sauce, all the herbs were not matching, they put mint in the bundle (not cut, not by leaves even), so we couldn’t feel any taste just mint and sauce. For the side dish we ordered mashed potatoes and I will never forget it’s something unrecognizable. Purée from the powder is even better. Mushrooms were over fried. It was big disappointment. To be fair they deduct it from the bill but it didn’t help with the experience in this place.

It was with great joy that we made our way towards the Park Hyatt to their restaurant. The great, highly praised reviews on Google made us choose the 4-course menu. When we got there we were assigned a seat and then the “greetings from the kitchen” came - after that we were ignored no more than when I showed my husband a hair in my food on the plate, I and my husband missed the whole thing Appetite. It should be noted that we didn't even start with the 4-course menu. When we wanted to show this to the staff, only the responsible sommelier took notice because the ladies were busy typing on the display or guests who had arrived later. The plate was quickly taken away and no apology or anything. We lost our appetite, which led to us canceling everything. My husband and I ordered two glasses of rosé champagne. *Of course we paid for these ourselves.* In such a great hotel, no one wants to sit in a restaurant where a dog is eating in the dining room with the dog waste bag attached to the chair. The fact that dogs are generally allowed in such a high-priced restaurant is new to us. After all, we all want to enjoy the evening. For us it was the evening's dinner. We will definitely not come again and will recommend this restaurant to our friends/families. We will also definitely share our impressions of the Hyatt Group.

I enjoy eating at Parkhuus because the food is simply phenomenal. What I unfortunately notice is that the service is losing quality. Unfortunately, the staff no longer knows cutlery codes. Ordered drinks etc. are often forgotten or it simply takes too long until they are served. Still 4 stars thanks to the Kock! PS: Guests who eat in the Parkhuus and sometimes pay a 4-figure amount should be able to park for free. That annoys me every time.

I didn't eat in the actual restaurant but in the huge lobby because I had to work and needed good light. I didn't order very much, but only excellent things came: a redfish with excellent foamed sauce and delicate vegetables, and I tried a non-alcoholic Riesling (passable, but very sour). For the wonderful dessert, a great Pinot noir from Schmidheiny. The final espresso was good, but, as another reviewer wrote, at 7.50 francs it was too expensive because it was “naked” and without the slightest upgrade.

Swiss restaurants enjoy a unique feature. This is kept far more secret than the myth of „Banking Secrecy“ that was peddled to the world for eons: Avarice ! Being a local, I could write a book about the endless manifestations of this trait. Ranging from restaurateurs pointing out that the Federal norm for a Schnitzel is 110 grams, when informed that a microscope was needed to locate it in the plate, unpleasant grimacing when asked for another piece of bread and extra charges on the bill for another roll. Parkhuus today absolutely „Took the Biscuit“ for the most parsimonious serving I have seen in my entire life (BTW spent as an exec in the Travel & Hospitality business) . Combine this with completely ludicrously outrageous prices (27 francs for a bowl of vegetable soup , 59 Francs for a 60gram piece of beef surrounded by 5 Gnocchi etc. etc.) The staff must be commended for bravely trying to keep from bursting out laughing as they place the Lilliput helpings in front of the guests. There were three of us and all five dishes ordered conformed to the same „Micro“ Standards and „Macro“ prices even by our well-known high prices. I would suggest using the location for a „Hidden Camera“ site, to document the disbelief on guests faces ,when they get to see the „largesse“ of the kitchen or to rebrand it as a Fast(ing) Food Temple for Lent.

Einmal mehr hatte ich das Vergnügen den Valentinstag im Restaurant Parkhuus des Park Hyatt zu erleben. Das Dinner war für einmal nur in Verbindung mit einer Übernachtung möglich. So durfte ich neben dem gastronomisch auf höchstem Niveau stehenden Menü von Tarik Lange und seinem Team auch den tollen Service des Hotels erleben. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön gestaltet und modern, aber trotzdem mit sehr viel Charme eingerichtet. Ein einfach grandioser Aufenthalt, den ich noch lange in bester Erinnerung haben werde!

Das Abendessen war sehr gut, der Service aber leider eine Katastrophe. Wir haben gemerkt, dass mein Trinken abgelaufen war (ich trinke es trotzdem, war ja nicht schlecht, aber sollte eben nicht passieren) und haben den Kellner nett daraufhingewiesen. Da kam ein "oh, ja" und er nahm die leere Flasche mit (Ja, es kam keine Entschuldigung). Und von diesem Moment an, war der Kellner einfach nicht mehr für uns da. Er räumte das Geschirr ab, ohne zu fragen, ob es geschmeckt hat, wir wurden selbst nach über 20min mit leerem Glas nicht gefragt, ob wir noch etwas trinken möchten und auch die Nachspeisekarte gab es nicht mehr, obwohl unser Tisch direkt am Gang war und 2 Kellner die ganze Zeit an uns vorbei liefen. Irgendwann habe ich versucht die Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen, darauf wurde aber erst nach winken und ansprechen reagiert und der 2.Kellner brachte uns die Rechnung im kleinen Heft. Danach kam dann 'unser' Kellner nur mit dem Rechnungszettel und meinte "bar oder mit Karte", dass das Heft aber schon vor uns lag und wir auf das Zimmer schreiben lassen wollten quittierte er nur mit einem "ah, noch besser". Zu einem Tschüss hat es aber gerade noch gereicht. PS. Das Frühstück und der Service morgens waren sehr gut!

Wir waren heute kurz zum Lunch im Parkhuus. Bei dem schönen Wetter konnten wir draussen sitzen. Lunch-Menus gibt es zur Zeit nicht (verständlich wegen Corona), also haben wir uns selber einen Zweigänger zusammengestellt. Das Essen war gut, aber nichts hat uns überrascht. Dass ein Lunch in der Gegend mehr als CHF 100 für zwei Personen kostet, ist klar. Am Service hat es dafür leider klar gemangelt: freundlich, aber wenig aufmerksam und fast schon „geizig“ - als wir zur Suppe etwas Brot bestellten, wurde uns ein halbes (!) Brötchen gebracht. Man könnte fast meinen, das Restaurant gehört einem Private-Equity-Fonds ;-)

Das Valentinstag Dinner war einfach grossartig, finde kaum Worte, alle Gänge haben mir sehr gemundet und übetrafen einmal mehr meine Erwartungen! Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist sehr angenehm und tadellos, Beleuchtung genau richtig, Tischabstände gerade noch OK, die Bandbreite des Angebots auf sämtlichen Karten absolut ausreichend.Aber eben:Das "well done" bestellte Fleisch kam "very very well done" und war nur aufgrund der grundsätzlich sehr guten Qualität des Ursprungsprodukts noch geniessbar bzw. akzeptabel. Und dann hatten wir den Eindruck, dass das Personal nach dem Servieren des Hauptgangs schlicht das Interesse an uns verloren hat (dass es überlastet war, schliessen wir aufgrund dessen, dass das Restaurant nicht gerade voll war, eher aus). Z.B. wurde Wasser nicht mehr nachgeschenkt, und nach dem Abräumen des Hauptgangs vergingen geschlagene 25 Minuten, bis wir gefragt wurden, ob wir noch die Dessertkarte wünschten. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war uns die Lust auf ein Dessert allerdings wegen der Wartezeit schon lange vergangen. Das brachten wir auch deutlich zum Ausdruck, was jedoch mit einem blossen Schulterzucken quittiert wurde. Dass wir dann auf der Rechnung auch noch ein Getränk fanden, das wir weder bestellt noch konsumiert hatten, ist lediglich eine Randnotiz, trägt aber ebenfalls zum eher schwachen Gesamteindruck bei. Besonders irritierend übrigens, dass das Personal bei anderen Tischen z.B. die Zeit fand, zwischendurch die Servietten auszutauschen, während es bei uns schon die "Basics" vermissen liess... Wir versuchen mal, das nicht persönlich zu nehmen.Zugegegebenermassen scheinen wir irgendwie etwas anachronistisch unterwegs zu sein, wenn wir (immer noch) von 5 Sterne-Häusern nun mal auch einen 5 Sterne-Service erwarten. Wir sind aber schlicht nicht bereit, unsere Ansprüche "nach unten zu korrigieren", wohl wissend, dass wir öfter mal enttäuscht werden. So leider nun auch im "Parkhuus"...

The title was my wife’s comment as we left the restaurant. The TA reviews on this restaurant were all over the place, but we were drawn to the locally sourced concept of the menu, so we made reservations here for dinner. Our first impression of the dining room was positive. It is indeed a lovely room. When we arrived there, there were only two other tables occupied, so it was surprising that they seated the two of us next to a table with a noisy toddler. Not exactly the atmosphere we wanted. We love children, yet it demonstrated a lack of sensitivity on their part. Overall, the staff was amiable, but attentive when they wanted to be, and scarce when they didn’t. I found the food to be uniformly very poor. The amuse bouche was one bite of something fishy, which once I put in my mouth, I regretted it. The romaine salad, was a Caesar salad topped with some thick pieces of ham, but completely over-drenched in dressing. The char with shrimp was bland and cold, as if it had been waiting too long to be served; and not cooked completely through. My wife’s salmon was not warm either, and the red pepper sauce had sat so long it had dried to the plate, making it impossible to enjoy with the fish. The “sautéed” vegetables were clearly steamed instead of sautéed, but at least they were hot. When we mentioned the tepid temperature of the food, the waiter checked with the kitchen, and came back with a song and dance about how some of the sauces and garnishes on the plate were meant to be not hot. He also used as an explanation that the fish was cooked sous vide. But, that is all the more reason it should have been served on a warm plate with warm accompaniments. This got the server off the hook, but threw the chef under the bus. At that point, we skipped dessert, and left as quickly as we could. This was a $200 lesson learned - we should have heeded the reviews!My overall impression is that this restaurant has no oversight by high quality restaurant management, and is attempting to be a level of culinary accomplishment that is beyond its current reach.
