Aggressive bouncers, poor German speakers, let customers in as they please. In order to have a nice evening, I can't recommend this location

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Amazing cocktails and amazing vibe inside. It was dead for us since it was a Sunday so I imagine it does get very busy but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Lovely place to drink.

Music from 2010 is anything but good and current...disaster!!! When we were at the table (2 women) we had to leave it despite consuming and we had full glasses because they are now giving the table to someone with a bottle. I find it absolutely not right. You don't need it. So invest your money in a professional place where the focus is not just on the Provit.

Had Christmas Eve drinks and small bites here for a large group - phenomenal service and quality from Antonia! She was very attentive to our table and made it a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and drinks were perfect. Would strongly recommend - we’ll definitely return again!

I have never experienced anything like this in my life! On Saturday December 16th, 2023 my girlfriend and I wanted to go to the penthouse. We've been there several times and have never had any problems or had any kind of negative impact. We weren't drunk, loud, or noticeable in any negative way. We were appropriately dressed and there was no reason to allow two 24 year old women into the penthouse. STILL we were turned away at the door without any explanation. All other people, including entire groups of men and other people, were allowed through without any problems. The only difference was that we spoke in Serbo-Croatian and the bouncer heard this. It's not my problem, put people at the door with any personal ego problems who can't do the job properly because of their complexes. This is pure discrimination and absolutely disgusting behavior from their bouncers. My friends just like me will no longer spend our money in a place like this. You would think that you would expect better from a place like Penthouse - probably wrong. But be sure that some Google Reviews readers will also agree with me. Such discrimination is TOTALLY out of place, especially in Switzerland, and no normal person can tolerate it.

The ambience is great! I'm just wondering how long the "STORE" lasts? Please invest the money in the technical staff. The bouncers only let men in if they buy a bottle. Otherwise, you won't get in if you don't have a female companion with you. Even if the club is empty, say it is full. I really wonder how much longer. It was very unfriendly today other men were not the dark-skinned, he is always friendly and greets and nice but what we experienced today was pure catastrophe and not friendly! We missed the dark-skinned one and the other one! Upstairs, when they're standing at the door, they attack customers very disrespectfully. How can you explain that to me?

We were able to experience a great bachelorette event in the penthouse in September. The reservation page for the cocktail course left many questions unanswered about what to expect; BUT we were very positively surprised. From the reception, to the proceedings, to the drinks, everything was well prepared and carried out with a lot of heart and humor. Our bartender Vincenzo impressed us with his in-depth cocktail knowledge and cleverly used his charm and wit to give us an unforgettable evening. We can highly recommend the cocktail course in the Penthouse. That was really fun! Many thanks to the Penthouse team.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Penthouse Lucerne, but unfortunately I can't report any positive experiences. The service was extremely disappointing and the bouncers were extremely unfriendly. As part of a group of men, we were forced to order two bottles to even gain entry. The evening began with an unpleasant encounter at the entrance. The bouncers were extremely rude and seemed to have little interest in welcoming us. Instead of a friendly greeting, we were immediately confronted with the requirement to order two bottles in order to gain entry. This felt very uncomfortable and gave the impression that our presence was only wanted because of our financial contribution. Unfortunately the bad experience continued as soon as we got in, we had to wait 10 minutes until someone sent us upstairs and we got our table. The bouncer yelled at us to wait here and not go upstairs. All in all my visit to this bar was extremely disappointing. The unfriendly service and the requirement to order two bottles to gain entry had a negative impact on the evening. Unfortunately I can't recommend this bar and I personally won't be coming back.

2nd visit: August 2023 NO MORE!!! Of the 4 bouncers, only the slightly smaller man (compared to the others) is actually somewhat nice. You definitely experience DISCRIMINATION here. We (mixed group: m + f) were told that we had to make a reservation. The group after us (young screaming women) were allowed in without a reservation. I found that very unfair. Again I had to let my group persuade me to stay when they asked the other bouncer to let me in. Drinks: COCKTAILS are really bad! I didn't like it at all. Price-performance ratio is very, very poor (exorbitant prices). Drinks too overpriced! Ambiance/dance floor: I thought the ambience was nice the first time. But it's just narrow, confusing and confusing. If you don't know your way around, you don't even know where to go. And I'd rather stay at home than dance there. There was zero space!!! From now on I know that I will never be persuaded to go there again! Definitely “NO place to be”!!! 1st visit: March 2023 Nice ambience BUT VERY Cramped!, good music, the prices for the drinks are ridiculous because the cocktails don't taste good at all. Unfortunately the club manager (Fabian) is very incompetent and you can't have a conversation with him even though you reserve tables. We were expelled from the club because of a trivial matter without any argument. It's a shame because the bouncers are very competent and helpful, whereas the club manager is hiding behind them. Sad but true! Left over 400 chf in the store!

Our company event in the penthouse was great! Everything was very well organized & we were able to enjoy delicious Asian food (large selection). The ambience was wonderful, be it the roof top terrace (with a view over the roofs of Lucerne) or the bar (with DJ & dance floor). The staff were all very friendly and attentive, sometimes almost “too attentive”, so that the wine glasses were cleared away a bit quickly as soon as you left your seat for a moment ;) I can only recommend the penthouse & thank you for the great evening. I'll definitely come by privately soon!

I've been visiting the Penthouse for years in the hope that good music will finally be played. The ambience and furnishings are beautiful but the constantly bad music ruins everything. The prices are also a bit high.

The Penthouse Luzern is a great bar in Lucerne, you can simply say the best in the area, the staff is very friendly and very attentive, always looking at every little detail, especially the employee Tania, she is very well placed, helpful and friendly. Every 5 minutes a different waitress came and asked if everything was ok, too annoying. I was a guest there very often. I like the location. But the service staff is a disaster! Sometimes you stand at the bar for 20 minutes and you don't even get noticed. We were annoyed and just watched and didn't say anything and then all of a sudden there were cheeky comments about "how there are other bars" (totally unfriendly) and a woman with pink pigtails literally pushed me to the side! I almost fell over! Unbelievable behavior like that and that a person like that still works there! Instead of telling me that I'm in the way, she pushes me away like a crazy person and insults me. Everyone was unmotivated and unfriendly. No wonder the penthouse isn't so full anymore. With such service! Very unfortunate. It used to be packed and we never had any incidents like that. We definitely won't go there again. That was the last one. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately, my polite request was abruptly interrupted when the bouncer said, "Hello, I'm speaking!" used to answer. Eventually we were admitted into the hallowed halls, but only on the condition that we purchase a non-alcoholic bottle for the same price. This seemed quite strange to me and my wealthy group, given our financial ease. I consider it essential to mention that financial worries have no place in our experienced group, as we all have above-average incomes. Expectations for an established establishment like Penthouse Luzern are high, and we expect service that truly reflects the level of elegance and moral integrity. Unfortunately, I regret to say that my experience did not live up to these expectations. A more respectful treatment of guests and a more ethical approach would undoubtedly have been more appropriate. It depresses me deeply that financial interests seem to take precedence over maintaining decency and good behavior. I sincerely hope that the morale and service at this venerable establishment will change for the better in the foreseeable future in order to preserve the impeccable reputation of the Astoria Hotel and the Penthouse Lucerne.

Horrible. The first time around, bouncer said venue was full on a Saturday for a party 4. We went back an hour later, bouncer said he would let one girl in, not the rest. Make no sense. Go to Karol Korner instead, they are much more friendly and the best drink to get you lit.

Place is a unknown gem in my opinion. Penthouse roof bar is not really have a panoramic view However Amazing roof top, Spectacular service, good drinks and priced, Superb decor for Lucern. Weekends are amazing, DJ is playing. week days still a good place after 8 pm. Manager Helga and the entire staff is 5⭐️s.

Went outside, then back in to wait for my friends in front of the cloakroom. The bearded bouncer immediately stormed in and grabbed me and told me to go out immediately. Apparently he warned me (he probably mistook me). When he dragged me outside, I waited on the sidewalk. After 2' I leaned against the door at the entrance. He stormed up again and became violent again (dragged me away by the neck). Apparently you can't even wait on the sidewalk in front of the empty entrance without being attacked by the bouncer. So I waited for my friends at a distance of 3m from the building. After 5' he came back and asked if I could wait inside (he probably had a guilty conscience and realized his mistake). I politely declined and just said I didn't want to be attacked again for no reason. It's a shame, because the location would actually be great. It was definitely the last time there.

The security guard at the elevator this evening, shockingly, stopped all the guests who wanted to leave the restaurant due to his emotional behavior by one of his girlfriends. Bad Service, we came to Lucerna for a weekend trip, we went to the penthouse yesterday (Saturday night Dec 18th 2022) we arrived and no one payed us attention, we asked a waiter if we could have a table and he just said “look around if you find something without a reservation sign on the table you take the table” so we did, we found a table for two without any sign of being reserved, pretty much all of the tables had a reservation sign. So we just had 2 rounds of overpriced gin and tonic ( 4 glasses =100€) when someone came and placed a sign over the table we were sitting at that said it was reserved for midnight, it was just 9:30 pm , we weren’t planning staying that long we just wanted to finish our 2nd glass as we just had bought it, then came someone, manager or waiter I don’t know, and said they were going to need the table at that moment since the party already had arrived and it was just 9:30pm! Two minutes ago the table didn’t had any sign. And so they removed us from the table with our 2 glasses of gin that we just had bought like 5 minutes before that. I just can say that in my whole experience with the reservations and politeness this place has the worst service!! Try to learn how to speak and treat your customers…. From the moment we arrived we were just told to look around and see if we get any luck…. And at the end after consuming 100€ in gin we were removed from the table because the “party that was meant to arrived at 00:00 came at 9:30” wow. BAD PLACE. Please spend your money elsewhere.

Casual penthouse bar on the roof of the Hotel Astoria. Increasingly full towards the weekend. Certainly a fixture in Lucerne's Nigjtlife for years. Always a starting or ending point for our party nights in Lucerne.

Bad service, very unfriendly staff, despite a reservation we couldn't enter the club because part of the group was already inside. After further discussion, we were allowed to enter the club on the condition that we consumed two more bottles, even though it was already half past two in the morning. This would be my first visit to this club. After this behavior of the employees I will never enter this club and for this reason I am writing a bad review.

After making a reservation in this restaurant, you have to wait almost an hour to be served. If you are lucky enough to be able to order, you will be told to order 2 bottles instead of the specified amount of one bottle, which is also unfriendly and arrogant.

Great store, wanted to rent a lounge: "We insist on a female representation of at least 50% for all lounge reservations!" Unfortunately I don't have any female colleagues :( There's no birthday party now.
