Totally adorable restaurant right on the lake. The food was fantastic and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back soon.

New owner - from 5/5 stars to 0! We have been guests for years and the Pier was always our first recommendation when someone asked us about a great restaurant. The mood and ambience was always great and you felt like you were on vacation. It was a great place for all generations - now it's becoming just another haunt for old people. We gave the new owner several chances but things only get worse. The portions are tiny, but the prices are not at all. The pirate salad for 23.- had three large leaves of green lettuce, a slice of cucumber and about 30 grams of pastrami on it - no bread, no nothing. Love is missing everywhere. My circle of friends will have to look for a new place to visit in the future. Bye Pier, the old days with you were great!

With the new owner, all charm was lost. This was once by far our favorite place to spend a beautiful summer evening. The atmosphere was always great and the employees matched the positive beach vibe perfectly. Unfortunately, this is no longer noticeable; the new owner only seems to care about the money. The service is subpar, the portions are sometimes half as large as before, but of course the prices remain the same. The food is served absolutely carelessly and half of the ingredients advertised are not included. When it comes to beer, for example, people no longer rely on regional breweries with innovative beers, but rather sell mainstream German beers. Up to and including last season I was one of the biggest pier fans. Today, apart from the great location, I unfortunately can't point out anything positive. At the moment the new owner can perhaps still benefit from the good reputation he has worked hard to earn over the years, but sooner or later this once great place will be ruined - a shame!

Despite the changeable weather, visited Pier 17 again. Now also offers indoor spaces to linger. Currently a small selection of dishes (understandable before the peak season), which are not only delicious, but also attractively presented and taste very good. Ambience very pleasant and inviting. Friendly and attentive service. I can recommend it.

Pier 17 in Oberhofen is simply fantastic! The location on the shores of the lake is breathtaking and provides a picturesque setting for any meal. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, and the choice of dishes is varied and appealing. The service is first class, the staff are friendly and attentive, making the visit an entirely pleasant experience. Whether for a romantic dinner for two or a social gathering with friends, Pier 17 is definitely worth a visit. I can highly recommend it!"

The love is gone from this place. The food, service and atmosphere feel like it has been replaced with a concept of 'tighten the screws' and make money instead of creating food service and atmosphere with love. But thanks because now i can enjoy to find and experience somewhere different on my lake bike rides

From 5✨️ straight to 1 star after a new owner took over recently. Awful & uncapable service, food presented without love, half of the menu not available, absolutely no vibe anymore apart from the beautiful decoration thats still there from before they took it over. From our favourite beachbar and going there several times a week to probably never going back again cause its kind of painful to see.

If the food wasn't so good I wouldn't come back. One thing you have to admit is that the ambience as well as the decoration and the food are made and prepared with love. But the service is absolutely subpar. It has tables with chairs that are free but apparently you are not allowed to use them. But it is not communicated. No, it is simply ignored. When a waitress told us in what I thought was a bit of an annoyed tone that the front was closed due to a lack of staff (two waitresses), we asked if we should get the food inside. The answer was no, better not just sit there. Well, we did this. But then they weren't served (there was a 10-minute waiting time.) So I went in and gave feedback that you couldn't deal with customers like that. Communication is the be-all and end-all. Well, it's a shame. My appetite disappeared and we just drank coffee. I ask you to improve something here. Because this is something that can be changed. We weren't the only ones either. And to be honest, it's not so huge here and it's so confusing that you couldn't serve customers throughout the entire area. A tip: cordon off the area that you can't serve or write it down so that this problem would be solved and the waiters don't have to constantly go after this work. I hope you accept this constructive criticism and change something, especially in communication. I actually always enjoyed coming, although this rude behavior was always an issue. It was nice that a waitress apologized for her work colleague and thought it was good that they gave feedback. I thought that was great. That's how it should be.

The most beautiful, most friendly, "healthiest" (in the sense of environmentally friendly, animal friendly and regionally produced food) bistro on the entire lake - wonderful every time. Surrounded by lovingly planted beds, with a view of the deep blue lake and the snowy mountains behind it, plus the impressive castle silhouette and the warm service - unsurpassed. We've been coming back for years. Thank you for your commitment!

Very nice restaurant right on Lake Thun next to Oberhofen Castle. Very large selection of cold and warm drinks as well as beautifully prepared dishes. The ambience is a dream. The staff is very friendly and you are served very quickly. The five stars are justified in every respect. This restaurant should be visited if you are in the area.

Food and drinks are always TOP - service is a hit or miss Sometimes you have to wait a long time to get a server to ask for your order, but the view and atmosphere make up for that. I recommend going, if you don't mind waiting a while.

A great location right on the lake. The breakfast offers for brunch are recommended. There is cheese but be careful! The one bit of cheese disguised itself as butter mock. Please don't bite into it straight away. Good service and parking spaces available.

The visit to Pier 17 was a real short vacation. We came with 9 people and the waitress immediately tried to organize that we get a shared table and moved other guests around. As soon as you sit down you really feel like you are in Ibiza. The view of the lake, the castle, the palm trees and the boats passing by. And then the food: We ordered a variety of things and everything was not only incredibly tasty, but also beautifully presented with small fruits and flowers. ALL of the employees were super friendly and always gave us the feeling that we, as guests, were the center of attention. But not with a fake friendliness, but with an honest and sincere manner. We will definitely come back, because the visit has already left a lasting memory in our minds.

You queue for 40 minutes for a beer and salad. The avocado salad is spicy as hell.

The location is a primo spot. The food reads somewhat basic from the menu, albeit the ingredients sound interesting. But when they are served, it is a beautiful spread of color and freshness. It was like this beautiful bounty was delivered to our table. Enjoyed and was grateful to the staff. Highly recommend.

Very friendly staff, both the owners and the students. Delicious food: from bagles to salads to cakes, everything tastes great, thanks to the innovative and high-quality creations. The coffee and various homemade iced teas are also very tasty. In addition to meat, there is also enough choice for veggies and vegans. Because Pier 17 is so popular, even if you're a single person you'll have to wait longer for a free table on a Saturday or Sunday. So it's worth reserving in advance. What I particularly like is the ambience and the loving decoration. A boho mix that reminds me of Ibiza & Tulum.

The food is very good, but the staff are a bit unfriendly. The waitress said to my mother “you can speak Swiss German to me” (my mother only knows standard German and told her this). However, she doesn't apologize for her comment! We were reprimanded in a rather unfriendly manner by another employee.

The ladies who served us were very, very nice. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The menu has a good selection and the quality of the food and drinks is very good. The prices are above average, but it's worth it. It is only open in “dry” weather.

We ate at Pier 17 on Lake Thun a few times this summer. Every time the food was great and the staff friendly. The restaurant is very popular, so sometimes you have to wait a bit. The service staff handle this routinely and you are usually assigned a seat relatively quickly. The views of the lake and mountains are unbeatable! We'd love to come back!
