Food is too salty. Kids rice portion is only good for 3 mouths. Service was very good though.

If you’ve been to Zermatt, you know that it’s incredibly expensive to dine out. This greasy veggie dish of fried potatoes with eggs on top satisfied my hunger after a day of travel (with only a few snacks). The grilled vegetables IN the Rösti were an absolute delight—flavorful and cooked to perfection. There was even the typical dead dog smelling cheese inside (that actually tastes good ;-). For me, it was the best value, especially when being really hungry.

A charming place with equally charming service. The food is another question. It’s hard to imagine what people were thinking with the high food reviews. The Rösti are, in fact, *fried* shredded potatoes (that Americans would recognize as “greasy spoon” breakfast hash-browns. And the ham is sliced delicatessen meat. The fondue was piping hot, with a very nice texture, and an unpleasant truffle flavoring. I would order the plain version. It’s served with soft, white bread and that only. But, again, a lovely space and excellent service.

The Swiss restaurant is located in the center of Zermatt and offers seating in the cozy dining room and outside seating on the pedestrian zone. The tables outside could be a little cleaner. In addition to à la carte and fondue, the restaurant also offers a lunch menu. The service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious, but we were assured that the cream of leek soup was vegetarian, even though it had meat in it. Therefore I have to keep the rating low. The Älplermakaroni were very good.

Unfortunately, fondue doesn't have a strong taste. Tastes like mild Gouda instead of spicy mountain cheese like Vacherin or Gruyère.

Amazing food, great service and pet friendly! This restaurant was quite busy in December season, but we were able to get a table for 3 walking in around 7pm! The lamb chops were some of the best we have had in Switzerland, and the salad was lovely as well. Portion sizes are great and the flavor is even better. Would 100% recommend and return.

We were visiting Zermatt, too crowded at Cafe Royale so hopped over here. Food was excellent: the potato dish ( raclette?) was tasty ! Service quick , efficient and quite welcoming .

We tried Rosti with ham and egg 4.5/5, Cheese fondue with truffle oil 5/5, and Mango Milkshake 10/5 sooooooo goood I don’t even know how to rate this drink. Interior feels homey and warm. Service was brilliaaaanttttt, so kind and helpful. The food came so fast, only took less than 10 minutes. Definitely recommend to try

My boyfriend came here to share a chocolate fondue on a cold afternoon and it was only 15 francs. Excellent value by Swiss standards. It came with banana, apple, pineapple and pear. The pear was very underripe so not the most pleasant to eat, but perhaps underripe fruit is to be expected in December.

Small and busy. The cheery service was very nice. We loved the salad and were introduced to Rosti.

My personal favorite restaurant in Zermatt. The menu selection is great and all the dishes I have ordered so far have been very good, both in terms of taste and appearance. The service is friendly and attentive - despite being busy and stressful. The price-performance ratio is also good for Zermatt conditions. I will come back.

The salad was amazing Chesse fondue was great The mezze platter was fine, as a middle eastern person i’d say the falafel and hummus was very bland and you only get 1 falafel in the dish its weird 😂 But overall experience in swiss restaurant was good

There seems to be a break time for meals, but they happily showed us to our seats. I added ingredients to rösti, curry, and raclette. The rösti was really delicious, the curry was mediocre, and the raclette was delicious with pineapple, pear, and bacon. Above all, I was able to enjoy a pleasant meal thanks to friendly service. Very nice staff despite the restaurant being full. Cozy chalet-style atmosphere. Typical Valais dishes such as fondue, racelette, but also veal sausage with onion sauce and delicious rösti. The hash browns and truffle fondue were excellent. The prices are at the normal Swiss level and rather cheap for Zermatt. It was a really nice evening in the restaurant.

Extremely rude staff. We booked a table in advance, turned up at the restaurant, there were three staff members cleaning glasses, they didn't acknowledge us at all, not even to say hello. We were ignored for 15 minutes and had to fight for attention, at which point they quickly herded us to a table. Not a single smile from the staff the entire dinner. The food was decent, it was good to have some vegan options which is not so common in Zermatt but we were just shocked by the lack of hospitality and rudeness of staff. When we left we said thank you and bye and the staff did not even say bye back.

We had a lovely dining experience at Restaurant Pine. Originally we were hoping to dine at Vegistube, which is closed on a Tuesday. Fortunately their vegetarian options were included in the menu, plus additional meat options too. The meals were absolutely delicious. Donkeys rule.

When you come to Zermatt, you have to eat cheese pot, it’s delicious! The waiter was very kind. The only pity was that he noticed something wrong with our fire only later. I wanted to say what was wrong with it, why it didn't boil and the temperature stayed warm. But I still noticed it later and it was worth a try. Stores can pay using credit cards.

I arrived around 8:30 without a reservation, but luckily there was a table so I had dinner! I ate chili fondue and rosti! It was like French fries and it was delicious! I ate the fondue without the alcohol, but the cheese was so soft and edible! And I was a little worried because the reviews said it was unfriendly, but everyone was very friendly!! It's a bit salty for Korean tastes, but you can eat it with beer!! I'm going to drink a lot of water tonight! I was full and had a delicious meal!! The atmosphere is great and there are a lot of customers!

Must try cheese fondue and we added chilli - so yum for the cold weather! We had rosti with bacon and eggs well done. With beer and ginger beer. Fair price for Switzerland. In fact, one of the cheapest. They allow you to share the fondue. Portion is big. We want to have chocolate fondue for dessert but were just too full. Do try it and make it a fondue meal. And yes, we were served by Sandy - Great service as indicated. Memorable meal at Zermatt!

Best fondue in Zermatt ! What a lovely place. Very cozy and warm. It’s not easy to find the entrance from the outside. Though it is on the Main Street from the train station. You should look for Hotel Polux - this is its restaurant. Loved the wooden decor. Very charming. And also it was great to be able to order 2 different fondues - not like in other restaurants, where you have to order the same for min for 2 people

It a lovely place, I recommend it! Book a table in advance! It’s my 1st time I tried the raclette and it was amazing! Also I am in love in rösti with sausage. About chocolate fondue, the chocolate was dark, and I am not a big fan of it, I like milk chocolate, so I would not try the fondue again. The stuff was great and quick!

The traditional fondue was good but impossible to regulate the burner so the cheese was bubbling like crazy (which is not supposed to happen). The waitresses were not particularity friendly, one was quite rude actually (annoyed and in a rush) and it was hard to get them to come to any table when customers were calling them. We were only offered a limited amount of dishes (the small menu), but maybe it was normal since we arrived at about 2pm. Lastly, the name of the restaurant is nowhere to be found outside nor inside which was weird…

Truffle cheese fondue was indeed the best we’ve ever had - the wienerschnitzel as recommended was not bad too. Veal sausage was good. Main gripe is with service - waited about 40 min in total for our orders to be taken and to be served, the table next to us had their food earlier though orders taken later. Place was a bit hard to find as well - the easiest to find is Hotel Pollux, this is the restaurant situated in it.

OMG!!! The food is spectacular it is a must when you visit Zermatt. The best fondue I have ever tried and the service from Sandra was amazing. Would come back for sure.

Wait staff was super friendly and patient with my poor German speaking. Food was excellent, especially the Rösti with Veal Sausage and onion gravy. They coaxed great flavor out of relatively simple ingredients.

Most places closed in mid season but this was open. Cheese fondue, gnocchi, and veal rosti was fantastic. Prices also very reasonable.

I've been living in Zermatt for 1.5 years and we almost never go out to eat. From a culinary and price point of view, most of the place is not worth mentioning. This was the fourth time we've been to the Pinte today! The shop is wonderfully unpretentious, relaxed and simply honest. The salad served with the main course is simple but delicious and hits the spot with beetroot and the like! The bread is fresh, crusty, crunchy and soft and the schnitzel is perfect! In contrast to most restaurants, there are very good, individual fries with rosemary and no convenience nonsense. They also offer a nice vegetarian menu separately. If you're just looking for good food, without any fancy or fancy etépeté, you can safely stop by here and have a lovely evening! The service is pleasantly unobtrusive, not a penguin in sight! We'll definitely come by a fifth time!

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking along the Main Street in zermatt looking for something to eat. Everything about this place is excellent: the service is outstanding, the prices are fair, the ambiance is warm, and the food is superb. We had the chestnut soup (so good that we came back for it for lunch the next day), lamb, gnocchi, and charcuterie. Great drink list too. Many of the other restaurants in Zermatt are overpriced and overhyped- I would absolutely recommend this place.

Food is really good. Service is good but I have particularly not appreciated a so-called confusion that was (according to the waitress) mine. I ordered wine in accordance with the wine list : meaning there was a column for glasses and a column for bottle at every red wine items. I ordered the first one because it was the only bottle of 5dl. The waitress brought the bottle (that was 7,5 dl not being part of the list) and asked if it was the right wine. I acquainted thinking that they only had 7,5dl now. At the end they charged me almost the double of the price for the wine (41CHF instead of 21CHF) although I obviously never ordered this. I can't believe that when I asked the waitress, she told me that I made a mistake. Maybe in this restaurant, mistakes in service are in favor of the restaurant. I have never seen such a thing.

It was delicious, they were flexible and nice in terms of service. We took a schnitzel for 2 and each half was enough for a main! Raclette is from a half wheel, like it should. The schnitzel was home made and really qualitative! Congrats to them! :)

Restaurant sweet. Fondue was good. Price performance ok. Unfortunately I wanted to try a Valais apricot juice. But I got a Michel apricot juice and was “taught” that the juice came from Valais. Otherwise everything is ok.

One of the many restaurants in Zermatt with a balcony. Somehow I felt drawn straight away and was not disappointed. I was particularly impressed by the friendly staff. The menu includes typical Zermatt specialties.

Food: As one can see in the photos the food is quite traditional Swiss food, which if you are a tourist looking for the Swiss experience makes this place a must visit! Service: The service should best be described as decent, but not great.
