I have often stopped to eat a pizza with my family even if a couple of the permanent waiters were not the most friendly, the place was saved for the good pizza but I have a child who doesn't like pizza (in general) and for this reason I always ordered him fries and schnitzel. Less than a month ago the chips tasted like calamari and after asking the waiter how it was possible, the chips were horrible, and pointing out that the child is allergic to crustaceans and molluscs I made him leave everything on the plate. I paid the bill in full but I overlooked the matter since the health of my son was more important to me and for this reason I went to complain to the manager who I recognize was available and attentive to the problem presented to him and suggested that I Always specify allergies in advance so that they can pay more attention in the kitchen. Confident and determined to overlook the issue, I went again last week with my family and friends for dinner, it was a Friday evening and the room was not very crowded. When ordering, the same waiter pointed out the allergy and he rudely and without tact replied that they had only one fryer in the kitchen and that the allergy could not be paid attention to, the child was upset and showed a a bit of indecision about what else to order so he wasn't ready to order, he's only 10 years old, but the incredibly hostile waiter told me that I had to hurry and order because he had other people to serve. I felt so mortified and embarrassed that I wanted to leave immediately but I was in company and it seemed unfair towards others but I promised the child that we would never set foot there again. Initially I appreciated the policy of the place which has some waiters who are not very young but I was convinced that greater importance was given to their experience and professionalism but I was wrong, they always proved to be not very patient, especially with children, annoyed and even annoyed. I've overlooked it many times but I think that good food must be accompanied by a pleasant environment where every customer feels welcome.

It's not the first time I've had lunch at this restaurant, I love their signature spaghetti with tomato sauce which is truly exceptional. The service is no different, they are very attentive and very kind! We had ordered coffee but changed our mind to take it out with some friends, they canceled it even though they had already prepared it.

Cozy furnished restaurant. I've only eaten pizza there so far, but they were always great. Prices are rather high, but reasonable for the quality of the food. It is advisable to reserve a table there in advance, especially on weekends.

The food was, as always, very good. The portion is a bit small and not enough vongole. The staff was also very friendly.

We came with a group of 31 people very late in the evening, they offered 3 menus to choose from (organized in advance), it was perfect and very good, the area in the restaurant for the group was isolated, and beautiful decoration. Super fair price, everything was perfect.

I recently dined at this Italian restaurant specializing in pasta and pizza. The food was tasty and with generous portions of pasta, but the price is excessive considering that the pasta is not homemade but industrial. A quite satisfying culinary experience, but with a quality-price ratio to be reviewed.

We arrived in March 2024. We ate seafood spaghetti and pork pizza and drank 2 glasses of white wine. The pizza was good, but I really liked the seafood spaghetti. It should definitely be tried. The menu is not in English, we had difficulty in that regard. As for the prices, pizza is 22 francs, spaghetti is 33 francs, glass of wine is 7.5 francs.

If you love Italian cuisine and you know as well how it’s really done, avoid this restaurant like hell. Food is not poisonous and if you’re hungry enough you may find nourishment to sustain yourself. But Italian cuisine is something else. My wife took spaghetti carbonara and asked before hand if they were done following the original recipe, i.e. without milk, cream or any diary, because she is intolerant to lactose. And the dish came. It wasn’t the creamy gorgeous spaghetti dish you would expect. It was rather on the side of a spaghetti omelette with carbonized stripes of meat, that was impossible to recognize as guanciale. Horrible. But she was hungry and she ate it even if it was a joke of a carbonara. And this wasn’t the only thing amiss. Half an hour later, the digestive trait gave is verdict: the dish contained in fact a lot of lactose: pre processed food? Industrial sauce? simple incompetence? Who knows. Pasta is the flag dish of this place. If this is it’s standard quality… there are certainly other options in the same price range, or even lower, because Spaghetti pomodoro is not cheap, for What it is.

The spaghetti with clams was not very tasty, it really lacked umami. 35 minutes to serve 27 francs bill POSITIVE note: they don't charge for tap water (rare given that in Switzerland they now serve filtered water for 5CHF)

We arrived in Lugano on 12/26 at 1:00 p.m. We were desperate for lunch, we saw several restaurants and they didn't convince us, and by chance we saw this one and it gave us a new impression, although it was very busy, there wasn't much of a wait. We loved the food and good service. Thank you excellent service😍😍

1 time and never again! Eating cold pizza like sandwiches. Staff unfriendly. Forgotten salad Pizza Proscutto Fungi brought without mushrooms No, that's not possible if you want to pay separately, your eyes will roll. No, unfortunately you have to pay far too much money for the whole thing. I've been to Naples and the pizza there isn't cold either and it's like a rag.

On Sunday afternoon we enjoyed everything Pizza, spaghetti and deserts were all good. Service was nice. Good ambiance. Thanks to the staff for helping us. We are everything so our plates are empty:)

We had dinner at Spaghetti Pomodoro last night. It was pure coincidence that we “stumbled” there. It was already shortly before 10 p.m. and I wasn't sure if there was anything left to eat. But we were lucky & the very friendly waiter brought us the menu and we were allowed to choose from the entire menu. I chose a green salad, Italian dressing, and a pizza DOC. The salad was fresh, but the dressing wasn't my thing (a matter of taste) but the pizza was awesome! Really extremely tasty! The Pelati was fruity and yet spicy...the cheese was of the best quality...the basil was very fresh. The atmosphere was nice & cozy. In the end we were the last guests and there too - no one gave us the feeling “you have to leave now”. But since we know how hard it is in the catering industry and we want to give everyone a break from work, we left in no time. Ah yes: they are also nice and attentive with dogs, no problem at all. And the toilets are clean too. Everything was great, we'll be back!

Service a little slow but there were a lot of people.

We were sooo cold in this restaurant! Every time someone went in or out the door there was a draft! Shame on the really fine pizzas! Other guests also put their (winter) jackets back on to eat! We felt sorry for the waiters, totally stressed! The restaurant was bursting at the seams! But they tried hard and were somewhat friendly, until the gentleman at reception!

😂😂😂😂 I saw the pizza photos in the comments... Fake ADVERTISING... THE TRUTH? ONE TOMATO, 1 SLICE OF BASIL, 2 Fr additional mozzarella and an anchovy... AND LOTS OF BREAD... This is how they do it in Naples! the comment of the waiter from the Balkans (he should go to Naples to my friend Assu to try the Neapolitan pizza) Shall we try espresso? Burnt and lukewarm taste (the heat of the coffee had to heat the cup which was crowded with others and not in the heat... Hygiene? I didn't see a single waiter disinfecting his hands, but not only between one customer and another but even between clearing the table and setting the table... The bathrooms? On the first floor.... 😝

Have to agree with previous post on higher than normal prices and only fair quality on the eggplant parmigiana. The pizza was good though but very skimpy on the cheese. Overall wouldn’t go back. 5 guests, 2 pizza, 1 garden salad, 1 plate of grilled veggies, 1 eggplant…$110!!

Very nice place, the food is excellent and the service is also good. The Neapolitan pizza is wonderful and on the menu there are also several very original pizzas with quality ingredients.

Very unfriendly waiter. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. We were not greeted warmly by the waiter and he behaved very rudely.

So if you're not Italian you're not welcome here. The employees are so stressed and therefore extremely stressed Unfriendly. When I asked about the space for 2 people, the Cehf replied extremely cheekily in Italian and insulted the customers. Many customers left. Food doesn't taste that special either. When the food arrived, you popped it on the Table.

Absolute recommendation. The children's wishes are catered for in a very child-friendly manner. The staff were generally very friendly and made you feel very welcome. The pizza is highly recommended. The prices correspond to a tourist location

Extremely long waiting time and the worst pasta carbonara that i tried.

Four of us (with children) visited Spaghetti Pomodoro at lunchtime and didn't feel welcome from the start. We took this from the lack of greeting and the looks from the employees. Because our littlest one was hungry, we ordered anyway. Various (simple) pasta dishes were ordered, which took far too long despite medium occupancy. Well, if the quality is right that's acceptable, but the quality was far away from a Neapolitan restaurant, which is apparently what it's supposed to be. All dishes were unsatisfactory. Unfortunately that wasn't all, because the service was also inattentive, overwhelmed (3 waiters for 15 tables) and poorly organized. Based on our experience, we definitely wouldn't go there again. It seems like it's geared towards tourists rather than building repeat customers. But we know that most restaurants in an area heavily frequented by tourists are aimed at “one-off customers”. It's a shame, because the location is great and the interior design would also fit. It's no use if the food isn't good, because that's basically why the guests come.

I went with my boyfriend to have lunch. We had to wait quite some time before we could order. We got spaghetti pomodoro and pasta with prawns. The pasta was very undercooked for both of us and not really tasty. Would not recommend it.

They charged half a portion of carbonara 19.- fr and the full portion cost 22.- fr. Without words! We will definitely not be returning again.

Sorry - that could be better: We were at Spaghetti Pomodoro in the afternoon of August 17, 2023. Things didn't go smoothly from the start. The obviously very inexperienced, possibly new waitress wanted to take us (2 people) away from a table of 4 to eat and sit us at a table of 2, even though 80% of the tables were empty. After a short discussion we were allowed to stay and wait a long time for the menu and order. The food was modest: tomato soup sola (12 €) insalata the rocket ok (14.50 €) 2x Rivella Blu (11 €) although the waitress didn't know the difference between blu and red (with sweetener or with sugar), the worst However, the Spaghetti Pomodoro (€21!) I had to return because it was inedible, more al dente than edible, and the taste was not worth €21. When we wanted to pay immediately, we were informed that the pasta was being made from scratch and was ready after just 5 minutes, even though the menu says that it takes at least 20 minutes to prepare because of the high quality. :-). In the end, they didn't want to miss out on the money. I then took the spaghetti with me and gave it away. A total of 68 € for such a meal - is not recommended - it's better to pay a little more and enjoy really good food in beautiful Lugano!

I went for lunch and dinner with the family both to enjoy the dishes and the pizza. In both cases I was not disappointed because the place is worth a visit. Traditional setting of Italian Neapolitan cuisine. I highly recommend

Don't be fooled by the completely negative appearance and yet they took the money anyway if you want to try the mixed fried prawns with sand and intestines 😵‍💫 and the right place are certainly capable but only to apologize there was a problem. certainly indeed certainly never again

For an Italian restaurant, the food was not impressive. It was ok, but one dish was definitely too salty. (Pasta with shrimps) Nice service, but a lot of customers and long waits.

Splendid restaurant in a really pretty part of the old town! The terrasse is ideal for any weather being under the cover of the classic arches of Lugano's old town! We felt very welcome and enjoyed some scrumptious food! The prices for what we got were reasonable and the quality of food was extremely high! Worth a second visit for sure!

I have to say this was a classical tourist trap. The gnocchi was overcooked, which we could live with, but the tuna salad also lacked cherry tomatoes and the gnocchi contained very little mozzarella comparing to the picture. Considering the high prices it was not worth it. The service was efficient and quite nice, though.

The pizza is very good. The environment is nice, there are seats both inside and outside. Table service is good. The waiters are kind.

Nice spot in a quiet shady street in Lugano. You can eat inside or outside on the terrace. Affordable, delicious food. I had the pasta Pomodoro and the mixed salad. Recommended!

It's been a long time since I ate at this place, once known as "Sayonara". Now, with the new management, the place has changed its name and has become a restaurant with a Neapolitan pizzeria. Of course I had the pizza, which was really good. Average prices in the center of Lugano. Advised!

Friendly staff, fresh salad and unfortunately limp pizzas. Probably pre-baked and then warmed up. The espressos tasted very good, but unfortunately they were only lukewarm. The prices of our dishes were rather cheap by Lugano standards.

With a lot of patience and little hunger you could definitely be satisfied. (Of course not all dishes are as humble as lasagna and not all people are as hungry as me [w, 175cm, 62kg])

When craving a pizza, we always go here in Lugano. Always delicious and good service. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice to choose from based on the weather.

We tried the lasagna, the Margherita pizza and the grilled chicken. The margarita pizza and grilled chicken were great 👍🏻, but the lasagna was drenched in tomato sauce that I couldn’t even tell if it had beef or not. 👎🏻 The complementary bread was served very cold 👎🏻👎🏻 When we were seated, the waiter had a strange attitude don’t know if he was having a bad day, or if he was simply rude.🤷🏻‍♂️ Overall, good food, bad service

2021 - The pizza was absolutely fine, although the tomato sauce was a bit too runny for my taste. But a very clean and pleasant place with a tidy menu and fair prices, at least if you're Swiss. 3x pizza + caprese small + cola + ice tea for 82 CHF. — 2023 - We were in this restaurant two years ago and it was okay, but nothing more. The food wasn't really convincing. Now on the second attempt, 2 years later, unfortunately still not.

You're probably thinking, who goes to a noodle restaurant to eat pizza? But pizza is advertised. So we ordered pizza. We received 4 x black pizzas with a tough, limp dough. Since we were hungry, we ate it as best we could. So pizza is definitely NOT recommended here! The other one may be good - but I can't judge it.

It's now called Spaghetti Pomodoro. There is a white Fiat500 in front of the entrance. Packed to capacity on a Sunday evening. Slightly longer service times are therefore programmed. The excellent Polpettino di manzo is available with or without spaghetti, I got the wrong ones.

We were here last year, the food was good, they have gluten-free pasta. This time we wanted to make a reservation in advance as it is always difficult to find a gluten-free restaurant. When we called beforehand, they said they didn't accept reservations and that we should just come. That's how we did it too. Unfortunately, half of the tables were already reserved and we would have had to wait so long that we ended up going somewhere else. A pity.

Great food, great location, and great service.

Actually good food and good service, we were able to experience that once before. When we recently wanted to reserve a table, we were told on the phone that they don't accept reservations and that you should just come along. When we got there, half of the tables were reserved. This is how you scare away guests, transparency looks different! 😡
