PURO in Zürich

The place is very nice, unfortunately its entrance is currently covered by the construction next door. When you enter you feel that you are entering a fine place, but no one welcomes you. The atmosphere is excellent. The food was very tasty and of good quality, but the dishes do not come with sides. This makes you feel like you didn't order a full dish. They force you to pay other companions and in the end there is no concept of the final dish. All these details make the high price of their dishes not feel justified. Personally, I think that for the same price one could eat better and with complete dishes.

I arrived and was immediately greeted warmly. Food was great, Parmiggiano cream wasn't my thing (my own fault) but I really liked the schnitzel with truffle. The portions were generous and we were always looked after very kindly, even my four-legged friend was given his own blanket (it had a few small shards on the outside) and water. I think the price is very reasonable for the location and the portions, a special compliment to the service. I will gladly come again! :)

I've been to Puro Restaurant twice now, and unfortunately, both experiences left much to be desired. Firstly, while the location is nice, with a picturesque setting, the food quality simply doesn't match up. On my first visit, I ordered the rice with chicken, and the rice had a strong, unpleasant oily smell, which was quite off-putting. On my second visit, hoping for a better experience, I found the chicken to be incredibly dry, rendering it practically inedible. Moreover, the manager's demeanor was extremely disappointing. Not only was they unfriendly, but also excessively loud and their attempts at humor fell flat, making for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Their jokes were not only unfunny but also downright bizarre. Overall, I won't be returning to Puro Restaurant. With so many superior dining options available in Zurich, it's simply not worth settling for subpar food and uncomfortable ambiance.

Really nice and accommodating staff.

We can only give a 5 star rating for our visit to this fantastic restaurant. The food, the service and the ambience, simply top! We also thought of our little four-legged darling. The staff gave us a quiet table so that our toy poodle dog could enjoy his stay as much as possible and water was also provided in a bowl. The managing director Martin was extremely attentive, as was the entire staff. The chef Federico worked magic in the kitchen and we were able to enjoy our Valentine's Day to the fullest. Great experience, thank you very much and gladly again!

Nice outdoor seating, great atmosphere and food is ok. My main issue is the service. We had a waitress who barely came to pick up order, then messed up order, and managed to add items to our bill (we realised afterwards) which we didnt have. Two waiters were apologising for her and trying to then take over her table but they were both very busy too. Afterwards, it was too late to revise the bill. Just be careful.

I had dinner at Puro on Valentine's Day and it was great! There was a seating menu and you could choose between 3 and 4 courses. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Always my pleasure. :)

I was having dinner with friends. Everything perfect! The food, service, atmosphere, everything. What I thought was great were the portions, more than enough :) Tuna Tataki and Tiramisu were great! I'll definitely come back!

As always, a first-class evening in our favorite restaurant in Zurich. We had porcini mushrooms in truffle sauce as a starter, a real taste experience - great combination, a classic, but particularly good here. My main course - the tuna - with sophisticated sauces that you then wipe off the plate at the end, so delicious! Thank you very much for the nice service!

Beautiful location with great ambience. Very good food (with a constantly changing menu) and very friendly and courteous service. Also good vegetarian and vegan options. I especially like the crunchy “Puro Salad Bowl” again and again. I almost can't get enough of it. But the warm cuisine is also excellent.

Last round at 9:40 p.m. even though they close at 12:00 a.m. People who come new are also sent away.

Worst service! Went to the bar today, December 8th, 2023 at 10:15 p.m. The sign outside says “We’re open”. Waitress shouts that the bar closes at 11pm & we should leave. Well, lost customers.

We went in to try this fancier/higher priced restaurant. The staff was friendly but pushed us actively towards more expensive options. Especially when we didn’t intend to take a starter, and the waitress insisted on a starter, we said maybe to share, but she insisted that she could offer us 2 small portions for 17 chf each. We reluctantly agreed, and when we got served, suddenly the owner came and served us white truffle, which we weren’t informed was part of the dish. The eventual bill came in at more than 400chf as they charged us for 15g of truffle instead of the 10g that we consumed. I had to call the waiter and take 75chf off the bill. The starter that we didn’t really want ended up costing us about 70chf per person. Generally it ruined our experience and food, and left a bitter taste in our mouth. Will discourage anyone to eat here. I suspect they thought we were tourists and abused the situation.

In a wonderful location with a charming inner courtyard in the middle of the city, not only the senses but also the palate are pampered. Every time I am impressed by the extremely courteous and attentive service. The staff now knows my preferences, so I am always expected at a set table with my preferred drinks. This personal touch makes all the difference and draws me back to this enchanting place again and again. The selection of dishes is varied and there is something to suit every taste. Everything is freshly prepared with dedication and the quality of the ingredients is simply second to none. Overall, “Puro” is more than just a restaurant for me. It's a place where I feel welcome and valued. I can heartily recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

The price-performance ratio is really bad, but especially because the service was poor. The two servers crossed paths, causing confusion. The food came quickly but unfortunately it wasn't great...

The service was very judgmental. We were 4 young people, dressed normally and had chosen the restaurant in advance. We ordered a slightly more expensive bottle of wine, whereupon the waiter indirectly asked us whether we could actually pay that price. We found this question very inappropriate. Additionally, one of us ordered sweet potato fries as a side dish. When the meal was served, this person received the wrong side dish. When asked, they were told that they had no more sweet potatoes. If the menu costs over 50 euros, you should inform the guest in advance. The atmosphere in the inner courtyard was still good, but we won't be coming back.

Had the business lunch..they ran out of what I ordered; ordered a "schale" and got an Americano with milk..lol

Puro used to be one of my favourite places and I used to be a very frequent visitor. Unfortunately, the service has been nothing but disappointing. It sometimes takes more than 20minutes for someone to come and take your order despite requesting to do so twice. Also, the prices have increased which does not reflect an increase in quality. It saddens me to give this review but it unfortunately is the truth.

PURO offers a very cool and pleasant location, which is why we have visited the restaurant several times. Unfortunately, we had to disappointingly discover that the quality of the food is constantly decreasing, as is the service. It's a shame that the quality can't even be maintained with the standard menus. The service is overwhelmed and leaves an unprofessional impression.

Amazing food, service and location!!!

Completely ruined evening! The Chef de Service (C.) failed across the board. After just one second of the appetizer, she forgot that she wanted to bring us plates for the appetizer and the wine. Unfortunately neither came. So we had to eat the starter cold and without a plate. We had to actively order the wine from another waiter. Since the terrace has to close at 10 p.m., a table in the inner area was reserved for us by the chef de service, but that didn't work out. So we were given a seat in the bar area (at the last seat at the exit) instead of in the restaurant area and on dirty pillowcases that was only avoided through the intervention of the waiter (Dimitri). Other guests who joined later in the bar area were then invited back to the restaurant area by the chef de service. We continued to be ignored. When we paid the bill, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the service to Dimitri (he did a very good job and apologized for the other mistakes). The chef de service then came to make amends and brought us shots and justified the mistakes. With all these major errors in service, a grappa or espresso would have been more than appropriate instead of a shot (after all, we came for a dinner, not a simple drink). At least thanks to Dimitri for the effort.

Unfortunately a completely disappointing experience. The drinks and appetizers were excellent and the atmosphere was very cozy. The disaster began with the main course. The beef fillet for CHF 58 was ordered “medium rare” and arrived “medium well”. When we complained, the waitress disappeared into the kitchen for about 10-15 minutes and then came back with the same plate including the cut and mashed fillet and argued with us for several minutes that this was clearly "medium rare" (it wasn't even with a closed eye “medium”). The food was served to us like this. Of course it was cold at the time. This was accepted as a complaint and within a few minutes a really good steak arrived. The Tuna Teriyaki tasted very good, but the quality was so poor that a whole piece was not edible (not even cuttable). After our steak complaint, we got a new waitress who asked us 20 seconds after clearing the dishes if we wanted anything else, otherwise we would have to clear the table due to the courtyard closing from 10 p.m. - fair enough, but we were the only table asked . There was no apology, no coffee on the house, nothing. Absolutely unacceptable. Never again.

The entire experience was just TOP and exceeded my expectations. First of all, I would like to highlight the first-class service. The entire staff was friendly, attentive and professional. From the moment I walked in until I said goodbye, I felt like a valued guest. The service was extremely attentive and made sure we didn't miss anything. Even special requests were fulfilled with a smile. The menu is varied and offers something for every taste. The dishes were freshly prepared and simply delicious. The Verdejo wine “A cappela” always goes well and is recommended. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and attractive. The mix of modern design and cozy atmosphere creates a perfect environment for a relaxed meal or an entertaining evening with friends or a romantic dinner for two. In summer, the terrace is of course the absolute highlight. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

food was average. nothing special. We waited about 35 minutes for a cutlet. The side dishes were forgotten and brought when the piece of meat had already been eaten. All in all: far too expensive for the poor service.

Lovely place to sit outside on a nice summer day. There are also tables inside, upstairs. Normally, inside the music is a little bit loud. Ask the waiters to turn it down; normally they do it. Coffee and cheese cake for dessert is my favorite

Great dinner, atmosphere, and service

After I actually wanted to give 5 dies for the food, the following day I had to fall victim to one of the unfriendly waiters I had never experienced before. Came back because I had forgotten something the night before and called to say I would come get it the next day. So far so good. When I entered the restaurant on this sunny Tuesday and spoke to a waiter, I was turned away as rudely as he would probably do with moldy pesto. Before I could say what I wanted, he became loud and unpleasant and wanted to send me to the toilets. Why the toilets? I don't know. In any case, I quickly left and looked for someone friendly. Now I hope that none of the future visitors will encounter this cruel German accent and have to meet those cool eyes surrounded by a short haircut. And yes, this is supposed to be a description of the waiter, and no, there is no excuse for this behavior.

first restaurant I went to in Zürich and the experience was magnificent. I ordered salmon which was wonderful with a portion of fried sweet potatoes. The food is really good, but if you eat a lot of food, you'll go hungry... lol but it's worth it, it's really good.

Great restaurant for an after work event or dinner. Reservation is recommended. You can also sit outside very well.

Luckily, there are still plenty of alternatives in Zurich. The lower area was well occupied when we visited. The last place at the entrance is very inconvenient: it's cold! Despite repeated requests to the staff, they leave the entrance door open at all times. So it's really uncomfortable. The upper area is already unserviced before 10 p.m. on weekends. Apparently these are two independent profit centers, in any case you can't even take goods from the lower area up yourself. New guests are turned away. The staff regrets the cold, but is otherwise not helpful. Well, the innkeeper apparently makes enough sales. But ours is someone who knows how to appreciate new guests better, bye!!

Very nice location, well-kept atmosphere and good, creative cuisine. It wasn't my first time there and I came with two friends who didn't know the restaurant. Unfortunately, two other female guests sitting at the bar were allowed to let their dogs run around freely. So the little four-legged friend was constantly roaming around under our table and especially behind the counter and at the kitchen entrance. We really disliked this and is not compatible with good hygiene. I really hope this was a one-off faux pas. Therefore only 3 stars.

A fantastic restaurant. We had a 3-course menu. Starting with mashed potatoes, fried eggs and white truffles. Then perfectly cooked scallops and then the 350g Holzenhof fine cutlet. Plus a nice magnum bottle of Argentiera. Martin the boss gave us perfect advice and entertained us. Simply a top restaurant, with a top manager and a great, friendly team. Very hospitable, attentive and with absolutely great quality and fantastic food. In addition: now during the Christmas season, it's incredibly Christmassy and beautifully decorated. You go in and never want to leave again 👍🏻🙏😃 We'll be back soon 🔥🤘🏻

Was here the last weekend of November 2022. Had one cocktail at 10:30, ordered another drink and it never came, we waited one hour. Everyone around us was given service by the waiter, we were ignored. I paid my bill and left. As the cashier told me the bar had closed, his colleague dropped drinks to three other tables. Horrendous service left me and my two friends with a bad taste and an hour wasted our our Saturday night.

Always absolutely nice, attentive service! You feel welcome as a guest. Freshest and finest salad in town! Please don't get any more expensive...

Very friendly service and delicious food

I booked a table the day before dinner, anyway, instead of the main hall, we were placed near the toilets, although the restaurant was almost empty. We also didn’t like the food at all. I ordered a steak, which was more like a roast beef, but for sure not a steak at all, with a huge amount of seasoning that made it impossible to eat. The lobster spaghetti was undercooked and tough. The only positive thing was our waitress, very attentive and friendly. I do not think that this place is interested in new customers. It was the first and last visit.

I met a boss of mine here from 24 years ago and couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot! The service was just charming and personal, the setting was beautiful and the food was fresh and light!

Wonderful evening among friends. Wolfgang was an incredibly good host, recommended some new, very good wines and was extremely attentive and entertaining the whole evening. Recommended for a good evening meal.

It's the perfect date spot if you want to impress with a cozy vibe. ask to sit upstairs if it's open or in the back. but literally anywhere you sit is nice. also wintertime feels super cozy there for a good glass of Glühwein. The drinks at the bar are tasty and strong and the bar keepers are fast.

Our last visit of the day was very disappointing. Service was weak - there were a lot of people standing around, but only one person was responsible for the entire outside area. After waiting 30 minutes for the salmon bagel we ordered, a steak bagel was brought to us - after another 30 minutes, what we originally ordered came - it was okay, but nothing more. During the hour-long wait, the waiter offered to bring us some bread three times. But why he never brought it is a wonder to us. The disappointing experience is of course rounded off with exorbitant prices.

Very good cuisine, which implemented recipes very creatively. We were allowed to sit outside in the courtyard and a stone's throw from the parade ground. It was wonderful to listen to the splashing of the fountain and watch the people at the tables. The food was delicious and the service was very nice. Zurich prices, but fair for the quality offered!

Very disappointing! The carrot orange soup tasted like orange juice, the fish knusperli were soaked in a red fruity sauce (who comes up with such a senseless recipe) and the potato salad tasted like it was bought from a discounter.

I had dinner today at Puro.. I ordered penne with lobster 🦞, unfortunately my pasta was practically raw, the sauce was wonderful. I complained and they were extremely correct, the chef didn't charge me for the dish, nor did I expect it. I found the waiter very friendly but a little chaotic, perhaps because the restaurant was full. The garden is very beautiful.💓🇨🇭👍🏼

Price/performance is right. We five women were surprised at the large portions. It's not standard in Zurich, just the price is normal! Ate different menus, everything was top notch! The serviceman was also courteous and friendly. Will definitely come back!

Rude service and price/quality not good

Very positive surprise. Excellent food! As an appetizer we had the beetroot tagliolini with Barolo sauce and mushrooms. Exceptional. The meat - angus beef - is spectacular. Professional and very kind staff. Modern and refined environment with high attention to detail. Medium-high prices, but worth it! Absolutely recommended!

There is one star for the good food - at least. Everything else was a grab in the toilet bowl. We were there on December 15th. with you to drink mulled wine and eat something small. We sat at a table outside for several hours and were completely ignored. We had to order absolutely every drink because no one NEVER asked for our order. This went on the whole evening. So I've really never experienced anything like that. Absolutely unfriendly service staff who would rather have a chat at the bar than serve guests. It was funny to see that a few guests, who could be seen from afar among the millions, were completely carried in their hands. Never again - I want to feel welcome in a restaurant.

Fine, upscale bistro with a beautiful view and seating of the inner courtyard. Pleasant atmosphere with very good food. Near Paradeplatz, but not too touristy. At Christmas time the motto is “après-ski” with delicious mulled wine and heated seating and blankets. Also highly recommended for business luncheons & coffees.

Had dinner there last week and ordered local dish with truffles. The waiter came with a truffle and a scale… It was embarrassing for me to be put in that situation, wondering how much a gram of truffles actually is. Eventually, we had to pay 100 CHF more per person just for that truffle… Very disappointing and unpleasant experience! It should be noted in the menu as in other restaurants what the expected quantity and respectively price for a dish is. It is absolutely not ok for a guest to be put in a position of embarrassment like that, wondering in front of the whole restaurant whether this quantity makes sense and whether he/she is actually willing to pay for it. That is a decision I want to take while ordering, not while being served and having no other choice! I hope the restaurant’s stuff is reading that and takes some action.
