I like going to the bakery, drinking and eating something every now and then. However, the last few times I've noticed that some employees, when they're not serving customers, are picking up and rearranging baked goods/breads at the counter without gloves or tongs. When they serve customers, however, they use gloves. I find this quite unhygienic, especially since I saw the last employee sorting money and cleaning the counter and then touching the baked goods without washing her hands.

I've been a regular customer there for 2 years and have been served by many, and I have to say, really shocked! Unfriendly staff across the board, maybe at most one who is friendly. The ladies at the counter pull a stone and that's really not customer service, even though we have seven days of rainy weather here.

How can sandwich bread be so unfresh in the morning? Unfortunately, that wasn't the first negative experience at the Räber. I would like to see more focus on craftsmanship and less arrogance on the part of the management in certain areas. In the future I will again prefer the bakery around the corner from the competition. You will always receive very friendly service and you will feel welcome even during stressful times of the day.

Just bought a nut salad with egg and a sandwich for the family. Nut salad was made again because the ones on offer were no longer fresh. It then turned out that the “fresh” lettuce was already limp and brown in many places, and the sandwich bread was hard and dry, our little one couldn't bite it anymore. It's a shame, because we've always been very happy with the good food at Räber.

Friendly bakery and confectionery in a modernist building, 2 minutes from the train stop. There are eat-in (a la carte) opportunities as well. Ready-made salads, sandwiches for takeout and lunch menu are also available. I personally found the "Punschkugel" as one of the best in the Zürich Region, pity that they sometimes run out of its stock in the first half of the day...

Today I was in the café and had a latte macchiato. When I was almost finished, I saw something glistening in the cup and fished it out with my spoon. It was a rhinestone. When I pointed it out to the waitress while paying and said it might have fallen off a piece of jewelry or decorated nails, she just said she didn't have any nails done and left. I would have liked at least a small apology. In my opinion this is not professional and the service was generally not very friendly.

I ordered a Black Forest cake WITHOUT cherry on May 21st, 2023. OK, I went to get it and everything looked great, but surprise it had cherry in it. Great, I thought the cake was delicious, I'm keeping an eye on it, don't write a complaint, don't call. 2 weeks later the next birthday. Again I ordered a Black Forest WITHOUT a cherry and was informed on the phone that I had ordered the same thing 2 weeks ago but received it with CHERRY. Well, I'll go get the cake and I can't believe my eyes. Cherry on top of the cake and in the cake too. The price didn't match a cent. And the NICE lady said the cake looked better that way.

Hearty Kafi with a large and fine selection of sweet and salty. Unfortunately there was nothing from the kitchen after 5 p.m. This was never mentioned anywhere and left disappointed customers. The prices are within the usual range of all bakery cafes. It has enough parking spaces.

Pear Camembert sandwich and roast beef sandwich to take away were super tasty and prices were normal for baking

I thought the ravioli was okay, but too greasy for my taste. The service wasn't that friendly in my opinion. One had the impression that the lady was in a very bad mood. I don't think customers should be made to feel that.

Very good Togoodtogo. Sandwiches have enough toppings and enough different things in them where other bakeries skimp on them. Different products depending on the day of the week, very large selection. Bread that lasts a long time. The rolls fill you up quickly because there isn't as much air in them as the competition.

My friend bought a schnitzel bread, a goat donut and a pretzel with ham from them on Oberseestrasse today. When we wanted to eat, however, we discovered that they were using spoiled ham! I didn't believe my friend until I tried it myself. The fact that my schnitzel bread was completely underbaked (light white) was a minor matter at first, but also sad! We felt compelled to call and complain, not because of the money but that they might not be selling any more ham sandwiches that Sunday! No apology or thanks for reporting! Ps: Ziegerkrapfen are edible but slightly burnt in the deep fryer.

Sells the same quality that I get when I buy breadcrumbs: stale bread that falls apart when touched. Bad products at expensive prices. It's better to go to the competition like Wick. Absolute cheek that this parody of bakers is allowed to insult a bakery and pastry shop.

I had a very bad experience with you today. I wanted to inquire whether an aperitif after a funeral was possible at short notice. Even though it was during lunch time, I expect more professionalism from the store manager herself! If you have just been confronted with a death and have to organize everything at very short notice, you can at least expect that you will be sent away nicely. No, I was told in a snappy tone that no information could be given before 1:30 p.m. Well, then you may not need it...and therefore one less customer in the future! Luckily I had a totally warm and understanding experience at another location 5 minutes later. Thanks for useful... And it's really unbelievable how this bakery defends itself against every negative review! You don't have to wish me well for the future, an apology would have been enough. I wasn't in anyone's way and, as described above, I just wanted to know whether it was even possible to organize something at such short notice. It's funny that a store that was also full had a completely different appearance 5 minutes later. And believe me, I deal with customers every day in our city and am very familiar with customer friendliness! But you just don't need it...

It's summer and there are flies and bees everywhere again. But that's not possible! I wanted to buy a pastry and when I looked at the selection I saw how many bees were on and in the pastries! 3 pieces per pastry. Please simply wrap with cling film! So that the bees and flies don't run around on the cream and everywhere else, that's very unappetizing! When the staff asked about it, she said, that's just the way it is. And to the owner's lying answer: No, these wasps weren't on 1 pastry, but spread throughout the display case on every pastry and cream slice. That's disgusting! There are protective films or hoods for that. After all, these are foods that you also wanted to sell to me with wasps on them!

This morning my friend and I spontaneously ate breakfast at Räber. The service was very unfriendly. For a big breakfast for two we had to pay a 2 franc surcharge for the additional gedek(!) Something like that has nothing to do with hospitality but is cheeky. On the cheese plate we also ordered there were three types of cheese, one of them mozzarella!! In Switzerland we have a huge variety of cheeses! No mozzarella on a cheese breakfast plate please! The whole thing was also very carelessly prepared! In summer, add a few berries or melon wedges and a friendly smile from the service and the tip starts flowing. But as? No thanks! Loveless, tasteless and unfriendly. Our conclusion!

I am in the Räber Obersee bakery and would have liked to eat a salad with a slice of bread during my lunch break. A slice of bread with a salad has not been offered for a long time. If the guest wishes to eat the salad with bread, a roll must be purchased with it. Today during the lunch break there wasn't even a roll available. Should I have bought a whole “Pfunderli” with my salad? Rethink your business philosophy or limit yourself to selling bread. Räber Obersee branch will never see me again!

I ordered a birthday cake for my fiancé last week and picked it up on Sunday. Everything worked smoothly. I placed the order via email. The cake was exactly what I wanted (with picture) and tasted great! I will order there again :-) I can really only recommend the Räber bakery.

I am very enthusiastic about the employees here on Oberseestrasse. Ms. Melanie Reichenbach is a tough young MA who has her craft totally under control. It's nice to see how she, as a young person, is so committed to the Räbers' business. I rarely see such competent and willing employees. Räber's, you can be proud of your crew down here in the southern district.

It is not useful to refer to regionality and 24-hour dough processing if the core of the bread you buy is still frozen. Super original chocolate bunnies (e.g. Vernaschmich bunnies) delicate Luxemburgerli (even if they have to be called something else) a nice café-restaurant, very fine baked goods and parking spaces right in front of the house. The Räber bakery has the best Christmas cookies along with other fine baked goods! They are like homemade, i.e. H. the Brunsli, Chräbeli, cinnamon stars and Mailänderli are simply a delight!

Coffee and cake were delicious, service was unfriendly. We had to wait about 25 minutes until we could pay because she had to get the device first. The second time there was a waiting time again. She preferred to refill the coffee first instead of collecting money. Annoying.

Big disappointment We order a birthday cake for my son every year. This year he turned 7 and was supposed to celebrate his birthday with his friends. Unfortunately the cake we ordered was not made. According to the staff, the cake “sunk”. Although we called the Räber a few hours earlier and reported the pick-up time to be an hour later. As an alternative we were offered a smaller cake. After my husband complained, Mrs. Räber offered the cake at a 50% discount. That didn't make things any better. I have never experienced anything like it. My son was deeply disappointed and had to settle for cake cuttings from another Beck. We and some family members and friends who have heard of this incident will definitely not be placing an order with Räber again. Of course, mistakes can happen anywhere, but an amicable solution should always be found.

Not for families with children! Unfortunately, it has a lot of older, even "regular" customers who don't like it when children laugh loudly and have fun when they're playing! That's why I see it more as a retirement home that needs peace there... Otherwise it would be a good coffee/bakery.

I was there for lunch with my partner this afternoon. Both ordered different menus. My partner received the food shortly after ordering. During the 40 minute wait I was able to watch as she enjoyed eating the delicious looking homemade ravioli. When I wanted to ask the staff whether they had forgotten me or my menu, I received a short and succinct answer that unfortunately I had run out of menu... However, the kitchen is already working again. After another 10 minutes I finally got my long-awaited lunch and with neither an apology nor a comment. Long story short. I will never visit this coffee or restaurant again. It's a shame, because my workplace is a 2-minute walk away. I will eat my menu at Steinerbeck again in the future.
