Very friendly, good food and good atmosphere.

On 03/15/2024: After a beautiful hike (pleasant despite the rain... the region is splendid 🤩), happy with my friend to be able to eat in the warmth. Very good time spent in this warm setting 🥰 Gourmet and generous cuisine, a real treat. Thank you for the welcoming. Once the meal was finished, the Sun ☀️ was there to accompany us to the plain 😎😉

Good comforting fondue and excellent trio of soups! Of course the cream cone is an essential classic. Friendly and relaxed welcome, rustic setting, obviously magnificent view.

A welcome surprise after a strenuous climb. The landscape is worth every drop of sweat. If you are not so fit, you can take the motorized sleigh. At peak meal time you can't do anything without a reservation. We were there in the afternoon and had a very nice meal. Then you can also have a good time. When it gets busy, the narrow dining room is noisy. The selection of Valais wines is good. The service was courteous. Dogs allowed.

We ate at the restaurant fondue and tagine. Everything was very good. The waiter was a little rushed and didn't serve us in the best way but hey...the place is spectacular. I recommend it!

A restaurant with an incredible setting and panorama, the tomato fondue is simply delicious. The prices are affordable and the staff very friendly. You can easily get there on foot (hike of around 1 hour) and go down by sled which is provided by the solalex refuge, (bring ski clothes and headlamps) once you arrive at the bottom you can simply drop them off next to the Crêpe Cidre refreshment bar. Otherwise, for the less adventurous, two snowmobiles shuttle between the refuge and the parking lot (to be reserved in advance with the refuge) I highly recommend calling ahead to reserve a table if you want to eat there.

Catering labeled “Homemade” and fully validated by the team we were. An ascent on foot/snowshoes/seal skins for a descent by bobsled/ski will ensure a memorable evening.

A restaurant that lives up to its name, refuge of Solalex. Charming and friendly place where everyone is happy. The cuisine and service is also very professional, good quality products and the dishes are wonderfully good and made with love. We were able to chat with the boss, the chef Simon and the room manager Séraphin who are all simply adorable. Very pleasant staff who make you want to come back. Thank you again for this moment spent in your charming restaurant.

Idyllic setting, both the restaurant and the landscape, welcoming and smiling staff, we ate the game and it was a real delight.

Magnificent place to have a nice time. The staff is very welcoming. The meal is very good but unfortunately no fries for those allergic to gluten.

Restaurant: The quality of the food was questionable...the roast beef was dry and probably not fresh. The fries thrown on the plate weren't much better. The modzets of Veronica just as bad. Big disappointment because the setting is truly magnificent. Correct service.

Wonderful experience, magical place

I had a wonderful dinner. The food was really delicious. Try the crème brûlée, it is really good. On top of it all the view is beautiful.

The location is magnificent. The shelter…. It depends on which dorm you sleep in. The restaurant serves good food and good beers. Staff a bit cold. Don't look for mountain spirit in this place.

The restaurant is a historic place in Solalex. The position is fantastic. Visited regularly for many decades. I can't judge the rooms, never used. For the service, I do not dare to express myself. Apparently they are really unlucky, and be careful what you say to avoid being strangely taken back by the staff. Apparently the customer here is not king. For this I limit myself to one star, a gift.

The best raclette in the canton of Vaud 🧀

During my hike in Switzerland, I stopped at the Solalex refuge. The place is very typical, the dormitory correct but unfortunately without charm. On the other hand, very good cuisine and particularly pleasant staff. I recommend the half and half fondue, a marvel.

What a beautiful place. We visited Solalex to climb the mirror wall normale and direct route which is a classic. The staff were unbelievably attentive providing us with guide books and topos, continually supporting us with quality information. The food quality and amounts were excellent particularly the salads. The rooms were spacious, very tidy, clean and well equipped at an excellent price for the dorms. Our breakfast was in the neighbouring Hotel L’Mirror D’Argentine which despite still Being refurbished looked beautiful. The lady hosting us was also very polite allowed me to charge my phone and very attentive. You HAVE to go!

We walked to Solalex and enjoyed a lovely lunch. There were lots of cattle around but they didn't mind humans.

This was a top day trip destination of our stay in Villars. We rented E-bikes and made the trip to Solalex on the recommendation of many locals. The bike trip was stunning! Once we arrived at Solalex we stayed for hours and enjoyed the amazing restaurant (with the BEST blue cheese fondue), walked the property, took hikes, enjoyed the cows with their beautiful bell harmonies, sipped on drinks, and enjoyed the stunning views. Such a wonderful day!

Very nice little restaurant, the service was perfect and fast and the staff were very professional and very friendly. The only downside was that my cheese crust (which was, however, very good) was a bit swimming in fat, which is a shame. Otherwise the location is magnificent, lost at the top of the mountain in a quiet area.

I loved the rich food offer and magnificent ambience of surrounding mountains. In the winter time is a great place to rest your feet after a long hike. The mountains on the side are just perfect.

Absolutely catastrophic food this time! Aside from the fact that the location of the place is absolutely captivating, the restaurant really disappointed me! That said, I would still happily give it a second chance, which I never do, because the staff was very friendly, smiling and welcoming.

Our Airbnb host recommended solalex so we made an early dinner reservation on a slow Monday. The setting was beautiful and the food was superb. I wasn't expecting anything special from swiss food and I'd be willing to just pay for the view but it was really really good. We got the cheese cripy pie thing that had potatoes and melted cheese and some pickles (a little sour) on it. Can't say that I've had anything like that before for but it's cheese potatoes so you can't really go wrong. There was no raclette and no beef so we ordered the venison and that was not gamey at all. It was cooked in red wine (I'm guessing), sweet, and flavorful, and even crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It tastes better than any beef I've ever had and I don't eat anything gamey. Amazing. The cornet with the whipped cream I didn't really care for but it made a nice photo. Cards accepted. Service is great, we are grateful that they tolerated our screaming toddlers. Definitely stay for sunset, watching the mountain change color was definitely magical.

Magnificent place that I have known for a long time. Warm welcome. Several good dishes available, from dishes to cheeses, including mushrooms, and again... adapted dessert and different homemade preparations on sale. Magnificent interior in its decoration. Please note the restaurant is closing due to the upcoming winter season....

You want to eat the hunt, this is the place facing the mountains not to be missed, for the view obviously but above all for the good food.

Easy to access in summer by post bus, little elevation change in winter by cross-country skiing, on foot or on seal skins, the place is magnificent and the restaurant/refuge is a nice place to eat

I've been coming here for at least 27 years. I found the soups changed especially boletus squash, tomatoes always the same. The puff pastry lacked cream. But always a lot of pleasure to come. It was heavy. The server is very nice.
