Good quality of food, slightly overpriced in a wonderful location, 5 stars deserved. Overall the service was chaotic given the amount of people; what’s worst one waiter has been very impolite, rudely asking to give my tissue and cutlery back since I wasn’t consuming a warm meal but only a desert - the rest of the table was having lunch. This behavior clashes with the beauty of the location, not the same standard.

The food was exceptional! Yes, service can be a bit slow and portions are on the smaller side. But the ambiance and atmosphere and the quality of the food is extremely good! Highly recommended!

Very good restaurant, just a little expensive

Unfortunately, you hardly get any service outside unless there are a lot of people sitting outside. Since the prices are very high, I expect attentive service and don't run into the restaurant to order a coffee outside. Unfortunately, I've had the same experience several times... Otherwise, it's quite passable.

Tastefully decorated restaurant with a good menu. Dishes beautifully prepared. Unfortunately there are too few (but good) staff and therefore not appropriate to the demands and level of the menu. Unfortunately, the food arrived cold because it had probably been left for too long before it was picked up. No apology nor any attention to the inconvenience. A pity!

Went there after visiting the art exhibit. The service was very slow unfortunately. We waited for 20 minutes only to see the menu, then another 15 minutes to order. There weren‘t many guests at that time so I‘m not confident about how it will be at busy hours. All in all wouldn‘t recommend visiting, even though the ambiente was nice.

We went to the Foundation restaurant at the end of August, in the wake of the enthusiasm for the visit to the museum we stopped for a quick lunch. We took 4 salads of two different types... terrible (even though it seems impossible a salad could be bad), very expensive, without even a small piece of bread and tiny. Bad feeling of being "made fun of" like I haven't had in a long time. Terrible service, we got up several times even to ask to pay, it must have taken 40 minutes. There were people, yes, but it is undoubtedly a question of organization. We sat outdoors in a very nice space adjacent to the foundation's garden. A bad memory, definitely not recommended.

More appearance than reality. Visually beautiful, taste bland.

We were at the Beyeler restaurant to enjoy the concert on the terrace organized in the park of the foundation of the same name every Wednesday in August. We took advantage of the bar from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. various cocktails with or without alcohol are offered, regional beers etc etc... as well as excellent tartes flambées and charcuterie/cheese platters. Served directly at the bar outside. Soothing, relaxing atmosphere, room staff is available and smiling. I recommend with your eyes closed.

The ambience is the restaurant's greatest strength. Coffee & cake was good but expensive, Swiss prices, crazy for non-Swiss people. The service was very disorganized. Enough staff but strange assignment to the tables or no desire.

Long waiting times before orders can be placed. It had a lot of service staff, but only 1 person took orders and payments. The others completed many blank lines, at least once per productive route.

Fridays in the park… an absolute dream. In great weather and a beautiful ambience, you can enjoy an innovative and varied sharing menu. We recommend every course without exception!

After a visit to the museum, the restaurant in the park is a good option. We take a seat in the sun, we order. We move to a shady spot. The service employee complained that this was another area and she was not responsible. We offer to pay immediately to minimize your disaster. Three card devices don't help either because there's no internet...and she gets even more nervous. In the evening a band plays, so beautiful that the snowman has to jump and starts to melt. A laminated card is placed on the table… service only at the bar. A mini card. I order some aperitif and drinks, the team seems very lost and disorganized, the internet is still on strike. There is no bread with cheese and salami, you can't find the bread... instead, after a long search, I was given some cantuccini, which have a sticky structure due to the moisture (they are known for their hard and crunchy texture). Nice ambience due to the museum but don’t have the tart flambé, it’s the tiniest one ever and not extraordinary in any way. The size compared to the price was not with it, even for Switzerland. At the Kunsthalle the price is about the same but then the size is very big and it’s delicious.

Lovely location adjacent to the Fondation Beyeler art museum. Seasonal offerings from a limited menu, which primarily caters to the diverse tastes of museumgoers (and doesn’t offer a lot of vegetarian/vegan options). Quality is good. The staff is friendly and attentive, yet appears a tad bit disorganized at times.

A 100g tartare without accompaniment for 34.- very poor value for money too bad…

In conjunction with a visit to the Beyeler Museum, we had a very good meal here afterwards. There was an unusual composition, very tasty, for example the baby eggplant and also the mini hamburgers. All dishes were beautifully prepared. The waitress was very attentive and was able to adequately describe the creations that were brought. We were able to sit outside in beautiful surroundings. As fascinating as we were with the food, we found the mosquitoes just as interesting. But this didn't spoil our evening in any way.

The service definitely needs to be improved, making it friendlier, faster and, above all, more attentive.

3 stars for the very pleasant setting but the value for money is very poor, much too expensive for what is offered.

“Friday Beyeler” Every Friday evening the restaurant offers an exclusive evening menu. The four of us tried the entire evening menu and had an extraordinary taste explosion. Unique compositions that I can recommend to everyone. My highlight was the veggie burger and the baby eggplant. I'm looking forward to our next visit. Thanks to the friendly service staff and the kitchen.

In the park of the foundation, in the villa there is this restaurant with tables overlooking the museum. The menu has many options for vegetarians. Young and friendly staff. Good value for money.

Bad service: we ordered 4 dl of wine and 1 bottle of water, my colleague got the wine, I got the water, not 2 glasses! The main course was forgotten, sorry, I've just come back from vacation, but she wanted to offer us coffee, which was then promptly added to the bill... Food was fine, but expensive for the size of the portions.

The ambience is great, both inside and outside. The service is quick and attentive. Unfortunately, the food is rather average but really way too expensive.

Pretty cafe with outside seating in a beautiful park-like setting. The menu is small but nice and there are many different cakes. Unfortunately, the prices are extremely high and not justified. It feels a bit like a tourist rip-off. The service is incredibly slow, inattentive, slightly ignorant and seems disorganized. Very long waiting time from ordering to receiving the drinks and food. Waited 30 minutes from sitting down to getting the coffee, which was already lukewarm! The order for three people came in several stages including a waiting time in between. Bring plenty of time and patience. You don't have to have it more than once. It's a shame about the beautiful place!

Very rude waiter, exceptionally poor service. Was speaking to the table next to us whilst taking our order and surprise surprise got our order completely wrong. Another example of very poor customer service in Basel. I have come to be utterly delighted and surprised when I receive slightly decent customer service here. Would not recommend.

I visited the restaurant with a friend and my 3 month old baby after spending some time in the museum. I waited in the entrance to be seated for quite a long time, I didn't see a member of staff checking for arrivals which I found odd. Once seated, the service I felt was rather slow. It took quite some time to be given a menu, and for our order to be taken, again took quite some time. The restaurant itself and the food is of a high standard. The pasta I ate was delicious. I would go back to the restaurant again, but I do feel that the service in such a location should be of a higher standard.

Extremely expensive for size of portion. CHF 14 for a salad with a few green leaves. “Marinated vegetables”, which came out to be two half radishes. Friendly waitress.

The food was OK but there was only one high chair with Tripp Trapp, which is really suitable for small children. You also have to speak to the waiters twice to order.

The service allows for even more quality and quantity. Friendliness a bit rare. A pity.

Pleasing and fast serving is provided as this restaurant. They have a great collection of wonderful cakes to be served with the coffee. However, the price of the coffee is too high for what is being provided.

A favourite upmarket restaurant with lawns and trees creating a romantic picnic atmosphere.

The food was very creative and the flavors were exquisite. The dishes were obviously from the current art exhibition, which made the whole experience that much more interesting. The presentation of the food was also impressive and very creative. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Great meal on Friday evening with fantastic natural wines. The mood on Friday evening was very calm and relaxed. Highly recommended.

The location is ideal if you visit the BeyeIer Museum, and is also centrally located. Lots of wood and old elements combined with modern, simple and bright furnishings, very appealing. The menu is relatively small, but still offers something extraordinary for every hunger level. The presentation is magical and the taste is absolutely convincing. The coffee is drinkable.

Nice café in the publicly accessible garden of the Fondation Beyeler. Outdoor terrace in the countryside, it's lovely to sit on. Parking is a problem. The central parking garage is narrow, fills up quickly and is overpriced. It's best to get there by tram.

The selection on the menu is quite small but varied and refined. Food is visually very appealing and comes quickly. Staff is friendly and competent. The cappuccino tastes heavenly and the desserts are also particularly delicious.

Delicious menus in a stylish atmosphere, friendly staff.

Magnificent setting but the service is not up to par and clearly leaves something to be desired. There is a shortage of staff and the waitresses, overwhelmed, are curt and aggressive.

I have rarely seen such unfriendly service as in this café. Were there on Saturday, nothing is brought to the table, you should come and pick it up... incomprehensible.

Simply a wonderful place - located in the middle of the beautiful park, art and nature - the best start before diving into the museum. Well attended, but worth the wait. A favorite place.

There were too many people to enjoy the Goya exhibition.

They don't allow you to reserve your table, you have to wait in front of the restaurant, they let people pass who arrive later in front of us. We finally get a table, we have tapas. Chf 32.- per person, a few croquettes, 2 olives, cheese, ham and that's it. We asked for bread because we were very hungry... we waited 25 minutes to get our bill... it's a scandal, neither the service nor the catering are up to the prices and their pretension. .. it's really the industry: how to make maximum profit with minimum benefits

We were disappointed with the selection of dishes when we visited the restaurant, as the menu only contained half as many dishes as the online menu that I consulted before the visit. This shouldn't be the case and I will go to another restaurant in Riehen on my next visit. At least the service was good and very friendly.

Went for a few wines and a cheese board after visiting the gallery. Small but nice and considered menu, and the ambience was very nice. Cosy but light and bright. When we went to leave I was shocked and stressed to find that my winter coat had been taken from the communal coat area. BUT we spoke with one of the ladies who worked there and she was very sweet and attentive. Understood why I was worried and then escorted us back to the main gallery to go look in the main coat area, where thankfully we found it (no love to the person who just ditched it there!!) I didn’t catch the girls name but I wanted to extend thanks because she treated me and the situation really well. Thank you!

The decaf coffee was served in a ridiculously small cup and resembled dishwater. The cake selection was boring and the cake itself tasted sticky. In Switzerland, too, you could expect better for 22 francs (2 coffees with cake). It's a shame that the lovely museum visit ended so disappointingly.

8 CHF for 4 lettuce leaves with dressing and a small piece of bread. That's pretty cheeky. The rest is pretty much at the limit. Considering that you don't get any service at the table and the kitchen is on vacation, it's pretty bananas.

Nice cakes ... sounds like home made ... and as we could see, they prepare Picknick packages including a blanket... perfectly now to enjoy the calming park in-between exhibitions. It's pure slow down environment these times...

Excellent food. Well cooked and well presented. The only negative thing is that the portions are modest relative to the price. You may want to take a first course (salad/soup) and a main course. Otherwise, you may walk out still hungry. The choice on the menu is limited but almost everyone will find something that would be suitable.

It's a special place in Riehen. Awesome Flammkuchen and salads. The views and sunsets are great! I love the well maintained garden, especially the tall trees. I also love the artsy crowd from all over the world that enriches my stay at the restaurant, even though I don't know jack about art. Despite that i feel very welcomed at the restaurant and it's also great for kids to play hide and seek among the trees.

Nice atmosphere, stylish and simply furnished to match the Beyeler Foundation. The food was very tasty, regionally chosen, value for money was right.

Hopper took me to Riehen once again. The exhibition is truly recommended, but closes its doors on September 29th, 2020. Whatever great exhibition brings you here, a visit to the restaurant is recommended. Especially when the weather is nice, the garden restaurant in Berowerpark is a little oasis before you head back into the hustle and bustle towards Lörrach or Basel. I followed a spontaneous idea at 12:30 p.m., hijacked the last available spot and found a little time out... The kitchen team recommended a “flank steak, fennel, tomato, corn” as a menu plate. At CHF 29.00 it's definitely on the upper limit, an additional green salad would have cost CHF 8.00. But what was served within three (!) minutes looked magnificent. Certainly a small portion for the price, but the taste is amazing! Simply stunning for a lunch plate: aromatic, perfectly prepared, the consistency is just right, it makes you happy. - Unfortunately... everything on the plate was lukewarm to cold🙄 It shouldn't have been super hot, but the baby corn on the maize puree was cold, everything else, including the meat, was lukewarm to lukewarm. When I complained, I was offered an espresso for dessert and genuinely apologized. So, ok, I'll definitely try it again P.S. Even if no one wants to read it anymore, here it is anyway: Corona is also a challenge for the service staff. The crew at the Beyeler Restaurant handles this very well! You assert yourself nicely, politely but firmly and have to listen to a lot. Keeping your nerve and still remaining decent... congratulations, they did a good job. Conclusion, I would like to come back. Because the espresso alone was delicious and worth a stop.

No greeting at all, but we waited over 20 minutes for an espresso & latte macchiato. It was just before twelve o'clock, okay, but a number of guests who arrived later had already been served food and drinks. At some point it worked. The waiter collected the amount of CHF 11.30 for the two drinks completely unmotivated and disinterested. When asked if they wanted a copy of the receipt, the answer was: “Copy?” . Then turned away without a word, no thanks or farewell.

Good light lunch next to the museum. But on the weekend so long we had to wait to get a menu. After lunch we wanted to have coffee. But not enough staffs to serve there. We asked 2 staffs to get order. They say: wait please.. 20 Minutes later we decided to go another place to have a coffee. They need more staffs definitely on the weekend

The setting is magnificent. The terrace overlooking the park and the museum is worth stopping for a magical stopover. The strong points stop here: the (rather) limited menu does not reflect the inconsistency of what you find on your plate. The prices are rather high compared to what is presented to you. The brie tarte flambée looked like a cracker on which we had spread 2mm of tasteless cream, a quarter of a sliced ​​apricot and a few green leaves. All for frs 19.50. The cold tea was a tasteless herbal tea served in a glass with four ice cubes (price: frs 5.20). A waiter cuts you off in German by informing him that he only speaks this language, no intention of being friendly, take it for granted. With the attendance of the museum, the establishment is guaranteed to have a high occupancy rate. It is undoubtedly this absence of competition which demotivates him in terms of the services offered and the quality of his service. The quality/price ratio is deplorable. On another site, the restaurant would have gone bankrupt a long time ago.

Magnificent and modern architecture, calm and voluptuous luxury for this museum dedicated to painting. Wonderful garden. Fortunately there were few people when I went there because the hassles linked to covid are legion: queue, and deplorable service at the restaurant. It is better not to eat there anymore, they are overwhelmed. We had a picnic in a wonderful public park 100m beyond the tram stop. Practical wooden tables and benches. Magnificent Hopper exhibition! Run there, it's rare.

Magnificent museum: park, architecture, layout, everything is beautiful. The exhibition was about Hopper's work, brilliant!

The architecture and spatial layout of this museum is simply ideal for presenting art in the best light. The exhibition currently taking place on the work of Edward Hooper can also inspire those who are less interested in art. And if not, you can make yourself comfortable on comfortable sofas along the window facing the park until your loved ones have finished the exhibition.
