Excellent regional dishes, the very friendly waiter spoke to us in French with a slight Swiss accent and was attentive and quick to our requests. The restaurant is warm and despite the full room, not at all noisy. Perfect, I recommend!

Today we were guests at the Eienwäldli restaurant for about the 10th time, and now I would like to take the liberty of writing a review. The restaurant is one of the best we have ever been to. Very family friendly, pleasant service, absolutely top quality food. No matter what we have eaten so far, everything has been simply delicious! Special mention should be made of the seasonal multi-course meals, which are always a real treat. There are also Chinoise evenings and other “specials”. Antonio and his staff always ensure that we leave the restaurant with a pleasant grin on our faces. Thanks!

Great child friendly restaurant

A very nice restaurant, I've been coming for years and to this day I have nothing to complain about.

We were there twice on the weekend from October 28th to 29th. On Friday evening it was perfect mmmhhh But on Saturday we were a bit disappointed 😞 had the Röstiburger, which somehow didn't fit. Either it wasn't the chef's day or another chef or the bar was too high from Friday. We'll definitely be back, but we'll leave the roast burger behind. The hash browns were weird, is there anything in it to hold it together? No idea.

Very cozy restaurant with typically Swiss decoration and ambiance. The service was very professional and our kids were very happy with the drawings and intresting kids menu. Unfortunately, after un hour wait for our rösti course, we found it too fat (very cheesy with hardly cooked bacon) and uncooked, potatoes being still crunchy. I have eaten rösti several times before and I was expecting something crunchy, full of flavour and... cooked.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that great... A disgrace for so much money!

We had a very pleasant stay in this restaurant. Nice terrace and very cozy restaurant with a great ambience. Very pleasant noise despite the busy restaurant. Varied selection of dishes, the food was very tasty and the service was very attentive. Price/performance was also right. We felt very comfortable and we would like to come back.

If you want a pizza, you'll get more than your money's worth here. Delicious. Otherwise there is only pasta and a small selection of starters on the menu. Service was good. Despite warnings that you would have to wait a long time, the waiting time was kept to a minimum.

The food was top both in terms of quality and quantity (decent portions) - and the prices were quite fair. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was pleasantly rustic. We'd love to come back.

We stopped there after a long hike. (Sunday) Only the small map was available, which was okay. Unfortunately, two of our people didn't receive any food because there were problems in the kitchen. There was a bit of improvisation that we couldn't quite figure out... However, we were told that it didn't have to be paid for, which was very generous of Antonio and allowed us to ignore the mistake. In general, Antonio's competence is to be praised. The waiting time for the food was rather long, as almost everyone had ordered something cold from the small menu... But the tartare was great. The service left a lot to be desired, because when someone didn't want any more after two beers, the employee said that the other two beers were probably too heavy for him... No, he just didn't want any more... It took an eternity for the bread and toast we ordered later to arrive. And when we reordered two drinks, the waitress said to make a highway and pass the drink from person to person and return the empty glasses. Sorry, that doesn't work. She was really too lazy to walk around half the table! Which would have been easy... It's a shame, because the restaurant is really nicely done inside and out, but out of the seven of us, two more people will probably give this restaurant a chance. But as I said, kudos to Antonio, he was the only one who convinced us of the staff

A waiting room like this at around 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. We received the menu and dessert menu and the drinks too, but no one asked us what we wanted afterwards. After 3/4 hours we paid and left without food or dessert... such a shame

The food was very good, thank you very much. The time between the starter and the main course was a little too long, but we had time, so that wasn't a problem. What would perhaps be an impetus if camping guests received a certain percentage discount from their own campsite, because the prices are, well, rather high. Nevertheless, we were very satisfied, it tasted delicious, the staff was friendly and professional and we had a lovely evening at Eienwäldli. Gladly again!!!

The Eienwäldli is also worth a visit in winter and during Corona. Were traveling in the VW bus. Once again we met friendly staff (shop, reception, restaurant, groundskeeper), found the facility clean and enjoyed a relaxing stay. We were at Camping Eienwäldli. Basically we are satisfied. But you pay extra for everything and it's not too tight. Entrance to the indoor pool, hot water for showering, which is no longer up to date at all. The madness continues in the restaurant. At least 28 francs are due per portion of fondue. However, in order for two people to get enough, 3 or more portions are necessary. An impudence. The ambience is nice and the staff goes to great lengths to make everything perfect.

THEN WE GOT EASILY GROWN AT BECAUSE WE WERE NOT STANDING AT ATTENTION AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS! It's a shame, the food was actually fine (beef fillet a bit tough but the homemade Bernaise sauce was fine and so were the vegetables, although not in keeping with the high price) to very fine (veal slices Nidwalden style) and the atmosphere was nice but we had to eat both Eating like we had to wait far too long until we could finally pay! That ruined everything pleasant.

We are always amazed by the friendliness and cleanliness of this hotel! The breakfast buffet is fantastic, nothing is missing. And the three ladies who prepare breakfast for us and treat us to coffee are by far the best! And there is a young lady named "Ana" who has been working there for years (bar, cafe, checkout and in the shop) and we are always happy to see her! The people at the reception are also great and everyone else who works in the background (cleaning etc.). So everything is just great here... even the restaurant that goes with it is delicious, delicious! If you go to Engelberg, definitely book at Eienwäldli! Not to forget the sauna area and the wellness area...

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Food was ok. Rather smaller portions. The taste is ok but nothing out of the ordinary either. For this price, this is to be expected. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Despite many free spaces, we had to put our motorhome at the back. In our opinion it would have been quite easy to offer us a more suitable pitch, especially given the bad weather we had.

Very good You get the right value for your money and they have the best chocolate cakes. The only thing that wasn't good was the friendliness. We were served until the dessert Wunderbat but afterwards no farewell or anything, even though we delayed the extra time. And they tried to give more cash with a false count of 90 francs instead of 190 francs. Which of course doesn't work at all.

There were 8 of us in the restaurant as a group. We reserved the Boubachi fondue in advance. Unfortunately the service wasn't that attentive. You could use one of three pans. Buffet with meat was almost always empty, there was a selection, but everything was always empty, sauces and fruits were unfortunately always empty. You had to ask for side dishes and you weren't asked if you wanted any more. Unfortunately it's a shame because the atmosphere was very nice.

Formerly a top, today a flop I ordered a pork schnitzel and a large chicken nuggets arrived

We ate at Restaurant Eienwäldli on December 25th and 26th. Unfortunately we weren't very enthusiastic. What disappointed me was that they didn't have a reservation, even though I had reserved 2 dinners at the hotel when I booked. On Dec 25th the service was very poor. After all, it was Christmas and the whole evening wasn't really festive. We felt a little taken aback. We all ordered the menu, but we had to wait a long time between courses. The service wasn't particularly organized and wasn't friendly either. We weren't even asked if we would like wine. We ordered fish crispy for our daughter from the children's menu, but the adult version came. Otherwise the food was okay. The next day the service was a bit better and the food came in a reasonable time. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. The staff shows no enthusiasm for the job. The atmosphere is cold. We didn't feel comfortable at all. This review is only for the restaurant and not for the hotel!

We were there for dinner and it tasted great. Unfortunately, the service wasn't really professional & our glasses still had lipstick on the rim and the previous guests' sauce was still on the table. Otherwise we were extremely satisfied.
