I am a little bit in love with this place. Yes it’s not a 5* hotel but in some ways it’s better than that. There’s a casual informality to it that is charming beyond compare. The rooms are clean and functional, comfortable and ideal (I didn’t give the rooms 5* because I had a single bed and I hate those) There are delightful touches around the hotel giving it a comfortable, familiar and yet inspiring atmosphere. It has a reputation for convenience and cool and that’s what I was looking for. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The restaurant attached is sublime. Probs the best in Engelberg. Great food, a killer wine selection and great staff. Location is hard to beat. I arrived by car and left by train. The train station is over the road literally a 50m walk but the 1 train and hour won’t disturb you.

I spent two nights in the ski lodge. The rooms, the staff and the proximity to the ski lift (5-10 minutes on foot) and various restaurants are great. The price-performance ratio is completely ok considering the location. In the evening there is a lot going on in the restaurant and at the bar. I really enjoyed it and can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience.

Stayed for a few days with the half-board. Great value for money, the food was definitely much better than expected. Nice laid back atmosphere.

Hype place to stay in Engelberg. Very nice Swedish/English speaking staff. The rooms have everything you need, there is a ski room and a bar+restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was exceptional and there is a great selection of wines. Get there early to make the best of the outdoor spa with views on the slopes.

Unfortunately the spa and sauna which should be included in the price of staying at the lodge weren't able to be utilised unless you pay extra for them. Even though they're on ready to go all the time, they were during my 2 night stay anyway, you still have to pay to utilise them. Apart from that though, my stay was quite enjoyable!
