Restaurant Eigernordwand in Lauterbrunnen

The schnitzel from the self-service counter was neither fresh nor tasty. Disappointing. If I had known beforehand that there was also a full-service restaurant with apparently edible food, I would have probably gone there straight away… All in all, too touristy for my taste and not recommended!

The Älpler macaroons and the apple strudel were very tasty. The interior of the restaurant is super chic and cozy. Unfortunately the music is terrible. Techno like in the large disco. That might be ok for apres-ski, but it completely ruins the hut atmosphere.

Unfortunately, for the high prices we only got very small portions. When we asked for something more, we received a not so friendly answer from the chef and were sent away. Maybe this could be changed in the future, thanks.

The food was tasty, but for the price paid the portion was a bit puny….

We were left cold, so to speak. We found a place for two outside on the terrace and left our gloves and helmets to get the self-service food. So far everything is good. But then we came outside and were told that this table is now being cleared away and we have to take our material. So we stood there with the food getting cold, no alternative was offered to us and it was already super full. After a long search, we were allowed to sit with a group. When we passed the entrance again, we saw that this strange procedure was being carried out for around 5 party people for après-ski at 12.30 p.m. Big minus!

Geits no? A piece of carrot cake for CHF 9.00. Soon...

The Älpermaggronen with the beef sausage are the BEST thing I have ever eaten. The service is incredibly nice and I look forward to this taste and pampering experience every year

Great restaurant and self service right on the Kleine Scheidegg on the ski slopes. Very tasty food, be it in the served or self-service part. Moderate prices, beautifully presented plates and fresh ingredients. Gluten-free options are also marked directly on the menu and the staff is very knowledgeable about allergens. We went there for lunch several times during our ski holidays. No long waiting times. Staff friendly, although sometimes not quite as professional and skilled, but tried hard. Always very well booked in the serviced part, it's worth making a reservation. Definitely worth a visit.

We dined in the Eigernordwand restaurant some time ago and were surprised by the varied menu and the impressive view of the mountains. Now I have organized a lunch at the inn for our employee outing this year. Even the contact with reservations and menu suggestions was very familiar and accommodating. To our surprise, a table was reserved for us right at the front by the window. Despite a completely full house with (stressed) skiers, the service was personal, prompt and very friendly. Cheers! The food was already prepared for us and was served quickly. Everyone feasted according to grades and really enjoyed their stay. The prices are in line with the local average and absolutely reasonable. After two hours it was difficult to go outside again because the clouds were unfortunately low that day. Overall, a worthwhile visit, even if the house is packed with guests. What is the view up there like when the weather is nice?

Fantastic place! We visited the restaurant today and we are enchanted by this place. Delicious food, very nice and helpful service. Affordable prices and for every budget. It's hard not to mention the views, which are simply breathtaking and add charm to this unique place. We heartily recommend it.

It's a shame that the ski race couldn't be watched in the serviced part this year. We had to go to the self-service restaurant.

Trendy restaurant - self-service and served. Certain dishes are also available gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan without prior notice. Reservation recommended at midday. Fair prices.

I was in the serviced area and had 7 friends with me. I had an “Eigernordwand Burger” which was very tasty (recommended). The fries were too greasy for everyone, but the seasoning was good. The service was friendly and quick. I recommend the restaurant.

Small portions, fries were greasy, nuggets were in the deep fryer for too long and it was expensive too. Seasonal workers don't yet know their way around.

Terrible service. Not so friendly and welcoming. We never ordered. The waiter never came and we just left, they didn't even notice. One waiter for the entire restaurant.

Service was slow, nut croissants were still in the oven for 20 minutes but we as customers were not informed about this. I might want to drink my nut croissant with coffee and not in stages... In addition, there are far too few staff to serve all the guests! Management should be less stingy.

The food was great! The service only partially… When we were in the restaurant (10/11/23) there was a man and a woman in service, the man was always friendly and tried extremely hard to speak German (which he did well!). He was quick on the move and took good care of us. On the other hand, the woman who was in service was rather leisurely, overlooked a lot of guests and what didn't work for me was that every time she came in, she hissed at the other waiter (loudly), we noticed this several times, she stressed him out even though he worked much faster than you. Arguments and disrespectful behavior do not belong in a restaurant and especially not within earshot of the guests. Nevertheless, I would like to say that the restaurant was very nice, the food was good and the waiter was very friendly!

Went there yesterday and everything was great. From the friendly waitress who served us, to the view and the food… everything was excellent :)

The beach location from the restaurant is great. Beautiful view, surrounded by the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Here you can get all sorts of delicacies. To get the best seats with service, you should reserve in advance. Otherwise there are enough other seats with self-service. The dessert in autumn is excellent.

Definitely recommend. The food was good, the prices fair, the service wonderful, and the views were unbeatable! We'll definitely eat here next time we're in the area. <3

I waited almost an hour for the dish. After an hour I got a half-frozen tartare and my wife chose pasta with potatoes, bacon and cheese, unfortunately she couldn't taste anything except pepper, I just don't recommend it

It took forever before we were allowed to place an order. Then the service didn't even know the card.

The food wasn't fresh, the fries weren't fried enough and in the evening the whole group had a sore throat. It's a shame, the view was nice. Better just a smaller card or e.g. Pasta buffet with 4 sauces.

The kitchen was about to close, which would be ok if they hadn’t sat us down and offered the menu. Then, we ordered the cheese fondue, but they were out of potatoes and the waiter didn’t tell us that. When I asked him about it, he said “he’s only human!”. Nothing was done about it and we paid the full price for the plate. The most expensive bread and cheese of my life! The view is awesome, but my experience was the opposite. I left with a very bad impression.

Nice condition, food was ok. A 4dl flat beer for Fr. 7.50 was at the threshold of pain.

Hello people, the shop looks better from the front than it is.... Self-service is like a fast food restaurant only with prices of four stars.... The view of the wall is super nice but unfortunately that's all.... Addiction Something better for you... Kind regards

Most disgusting food I've ever eaten. The schnitzels were totally cold, dry and tasted absolutely nothing. Portion of fries for €12 was ok.

For me personally, it's a great restaurant where the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. You can choose between self service or service. Which I really appreciate. The restaurant and the toilets are clean. I can happily recommend it.

Average ambience, just typical mass processing in the ski mountain restaurant. Service quick. Food average, rather bland, rather expensive for the result.

We sat in the serving restaurant. Unfortunately I left a bit disappointed because last time I was here it was really good. Maybe we've just hit a bad patch. My alpine macarons were a bit boring and lacked a certain touch. The staff communicates very well and is friendly, but they don't take things very well. If you can, it's better to use the self-service restaurant.

Always very friendly welcome and top cuisine

Price/performance ratio great. Because you have to remember that all the goods have to go up there. The food I've had so far has been great overall. Except for one day when the vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower) weren't quite cooked yet, everything else was great. Unfortunately, if you reserve for 11 a.m. and the next ones arrive at 12:15, you're almost stressed. The table arrangement could be revised, e.g. a few more small tables for 2 people. It's generally a shame for a while, many tables were empty and many were supposed to eat something from the serving area but weren't allowed to. But I also think that it is not easy to find an optimal solution. 😊 But to the point: great value for money! The staff I had all week was also friendly and quick. The kitchen was also great except for the few vegetables that weren't cooked through. Only if you make a reservation at 11 a.m. and then have to wait 10 minutes, you quickly have less than an hour to eat, which is not possible if you still want a coffee and dessert 🙈

Overall, good restaurant with a great view, just don't buy cheesecake, the mini piece (see photo) costs 7.50 (…)

All employees in the served part of the restaurant are very warm and friendly. The food is of course also good and the portions are a good size. The view is phenomenal anyway! It's very busy here at midday, which is why it's worth making a reservation.

Everything was perfect, from coffee in the morning in the self-service restaurant to lunch in the full-service restaurant.

Food was very salty both the rosti and the mie goreng but they have very kind service staff.

There is a self-service area and one with service. My comment relates to self-service. The food is quite good, the employees are very nice but the organization is not ideal... the processes are not at all right, sometimes the queues are incredibly long...

Really nice place to relax and refresh for lunch during a day on the slopes. Super busy when we went (about 1230), two options for food - quick eats where you seat yourself or table service with full menu. Seat yourself is only available outside, no outside table service. Inside table service seating is also more limited. We did table service, our server was phenomenal, even after we ordered the wrong size and type of water he quickly corrected it. Food was really good, I got the smoked salmon, hubby got the burger. The burger wasn't as good as he hoped which is why rating 4 stars for food, as Americans we are used to more if a ground meat burger and this was tough almost like a steak. Prices are high, but you are getting table service at a ski resort type location that you can really only access by train - you pay for exclusivity. Bathrooms are down stairs and don't have that many stalls for how big the place is - may need to improve this.

13.50.- for something almost big as the kid’s menu ? It was not very warm and the noodles were hard and not really tasteful…. wouldn’t recommend to anyone to test the self service (you dont get much for those prices)

Self service, decently good prices are reasonable.

Stood with the children 15' in front of the sign “you will be served from here”. Nobody cared and when we were finally able to ask we were told it was fully booked. Thank you, gladly no more!

The food was absolutely unsatisfactory! The goulash soup was burnt and there was a mysterious sausage on the Älplermagronen that didn't taste good either. Not recommendable!

A restaurant we visited after trekking! Everything was delicious, but the rösti was especially delicious - the view from the outdoor table was great. The staff are very friendly - if you are a foreigner and pay by card, they will ask you if you want to pay in dollars or Swiss francs.

Great view, great food. It's in a location where there is every potential to be a tourist trap, because in such a great location, people are happy to pay good money even for a below average food. But they really put effort on the food. Celso is a funny yet helpful guy, really enjoyed talking to him.

Everything is new, the employees are in the mood to joke. We were in the self-service area. Here's a normal offer at average mountain prices, which is fine. Great view - I would come again.

Restaurant that belongs to the “Hüttenzauber Group”. Something on the menu for every taste. The non-plus-ultra is the panorama with the trio of stars Eiger-Mönch and Jungfrau plus the Silberhorn! Enormous!!!
