Restaurant Japonais Namura in Genève

Excellent experience at Namura restaurant. We chose the Namura menu with dessert and it was delicious. I appreciated the rather calm atmosphere, it's a change from noisy restaurants where you can no longer hear each other talking. The service was very good, they answered questions about the menus with a smile. They care about the customer experience. The setting is magnificent.

I recently dined at a Japanese restaurant and opted for the omakase, giving the chef carte blanche to prepare a menu for me. Unfortunately, I found the dishes to lack umami depth. For example, for dessert the chef cut various frozen mochi and put half a fresh strawberry, wow what a creation! However, I must highlight the pleasant setting and impeccable service. I suggest the restaurant explore umami flavors more to enhance the overall dining experience. Despite this, I'm sure others might appreciate the ambiance and attention to detail of the service. High price.

Flawless. Everything is there. The choice is different at lunchtime and in the evening. Two experiences and no complaints at any time. Sukyaki is a marvel. The tempura is perfect. The atmosphere is unique in Geneva: “Irasshaimase!” to home.

Food of the best taste and quality. You can taste authentic Japanese cuisine. The special lunch menu will delight you. The open kitchen shows you how they prepare the food. Food made honestly and cleanly will make you healthy. In particular, you can meet staff who can feel traditional Japanese kindness. It's totally worth the money you pay. I plan to visit this place often in the future.

Very nice setting, the dishes are good. Too bad some prices are exaggerated... e.g.: a rickety yakitoei skewer at 7chdf, or tonkatsu which is 1cm thick at 34chdf

In an idyllic setting, the garden is superb. The cuisine is very expensive for the quality of the food. Unagi, over-grilled eel. Too fatty shrimp tempura. We were bothered by the smell of fat and smoke from the kitchen integrated into the restaurant. Ventilation problem to be resolved.

Beautiful setting but the menu items are not very elaborate. Eel remains the best choice of the 3.

Exceptional restaurant dedicated to Japan. Don’t hesitate, go there!! When I walked through the door I really felt like I had taken a plane and found myself in a little Japanese place in the back of an alley in Osaka, go there really, really good and very pleasant, very Japanese staff!!!!

Magnificent experience at Namura in Geneva. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there with my husband and, being two fans of Japan, we will keep unforgettable memories. The food is divinely good, certainly the prices are high but for special occasions, it's worth it, what quality! A real immersion in Japan through the typical setting, and a particular favorite for the servers “imported” from Japan who make us feel like we are on a trip there, with their polite gestures and customs, and their Japanese accent. Offering a magnificent welcome, their presence contributes enormously to the 100/100 that this restaurant deserves. We will come back to travel there for a meal! THANKS !

The food was good but I found it a pity that the tasting menu had only one fish component and the rest were veggies and meat.

Simply an amazing and authentic place! I am not sure how it's not on a Michelin guide, but definitelly deserves to be there.

From the moment you enter, the setting is immersive. The Japanese garden planted with bamboo is sublime. As for the cuisine, it is refined, elegant and tasty. I loved this restaurant.

It's very good. But above all VERY (too) expensive. The menu at chf150.-/per person is on point. These are the prices of a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant. To do it once for the delirium of the setting, but I won't come back again. Damage !

I loved the atmosphere, restaurant is beautiful. I recommend to not take the sushi platters, they are highly expensive and really nothing special compared to the sushi in other places like Nagomi, Izumi, Hashimoto & Kakinuma. I got served 13 pieces for 88 chf, a big disappointment. My children took the menus which were a good variety, tasty and reasonable value for money. Mainly you pay for the beauty. It is next to the N’a village, over looking a beautiful garden really lovely.

A Japanese restaurant with a very Japanese🇯🇵 atmosphere. The chef's skills are very good👍🏻The ingredients are fresh👍🏻The taste is also very close to Japanese flavor. If you miss Japan🇯🇵, this restaurant is your first choice👍🏻

There is a separate lunch menu for a quick meal and a different dinner one for a leisurely one

Very good Japanese restaurant, especially supported by its atypical and unique decoration in Geneva. As for the food, it's good, but not exceptional. Certainly, the menu is a little different from the traditional sushi/sashimi/nigiri sushi combination, but for the relatively high price, it lacks a little daring. Very friendly staff and attentive service. Small downside, but it's personal and general, I am absolutely against this new and unfortunate trend of selling two courses in certain restaurants. At the price you pay for a meal in Geneva, I find it scandalous that you are asked to leave the premises at a certain time to vacate the table and make it available to another guest.

The atmosphere is pleasant and the dishes well presented, but the quality of the food is very average. Decent sashimi and sushi but without the earlier bland soy sauce and wasabi. …. and dishes like scallops with gruyere!, offered with the tasting menu, say a lot about the authenticity of the dishes.

We had lunch in this restaurant during the week, the dishes were as beautiful as they were tasty. The staff are smiling and friendly.

I am going back to this cute restaurant every week ever since I found it last month. They have wide selection (17 or 18 different) of Plat du jour at reasonable prices (in Geneva standard). Foods are quite authentic and you will notice that kitchen staffs as well as very friendly lady in the dining hall are all Japanese. So welcoming and friendly.

Flashy, exorbitant price For a table of 7 people (birthday) the service is overwhelmed and no access for a wheelchair I was very disappointed I will not go back ☹️

It is really hard to find authentic Japanese restaurant in Switzerland in general. Most of them are Europeanize sushi. Natural is one of the few authentic Japanese restaurant located in the outskirts of Geneva. From the entrance to the dinning area, the restaurant is well decorated; it’s almost like you are in Japan. The staff are friendly courteous. We ordered the shabu shabu for that night and it was wonderful. We tried both the Swiss beef and Japanese wagyu. The Japanese wagyu is a little pricey, but they are much softer and fattier. For those who prefers leaner meat, you should go with the Swiss beef.

Another gem just next to this other Geneva culinary highlight, Na Village (same owner). Absolutely delicious fare with the chef preparing the food on the robata grill in front of you, unusual in Geneva. We’ll be back soonest!

The best Japanese cuisine in Geneva made by an excellent chef. A traditional atmosphere you travel directly. The dishes are designed in front of the customers. Very exotic. I highly recommend this establishment.

I loved. I went for dinner there the day before my birthday with some relatives and really liked the atmosphere. The staff spoke perfect Japanese, it was not at all the type of Japanese restaurant run by Chinese, I managed to make myself understood by them in Japanese, for a moment I thought I was going back to 2014 when I went to Japan when I was 18. The meal was plentiful, delicious, nothing to complain about, it's worth the price. The places were magical, very warm welcome, I was even treated to a birthday cake. I recommend this restaurant, go there without hesitation, it is absolutely worth trying. I can not wait to return to. I trust them completely, it's a serious restaurant. Itadakimasu soshite arigato gozaimasu.

The decoration is very beautiful, the price on the other hand is just unacceptable. Really overpriced for any quality and ridiculous quantity of food. The service is overwhelmed. At that price you can treat yourself to a Michelin-starred restaurant and you won't be hungry, unlike here.

New challenger for best japanese in town ! Food is nothing but excellent and finally a place with the izakaya feeling. Classics like kara age and yakitori are more than mastered, unagi otoro and aburi salmon nigiri are exceptional. Great list of sake also (tried all of them 😅) only the beer selection is.. surprising. Highly suggesting the restaurant to get a better/wider selection, Kirin Ichiban and Sapporo Premium are much needed. Can't wait to come back ! Ki o tsukete 🙏🏻

This is the type of restaurant that will get mixed reviews. For those that know authentic japanese food, you will only go once. However for those that think they know japanese food, they will rave about it. This was my first and last at this wannabe japanese joint. My recommendation, save your money and go to a noodle bar otherwise. The place is tantalising as the landscaping would make you think you are about to enter the house of Samurai to then realize that you have spent 200CHF for 20 pieces of a supposedly fine selection of japanese food.

Love this place very authentic Japanese nothing fusion about it. Food was good I only eat raw when it’s extremely fresh and here the raw was perfection. We took the menu for CHF88 which was plentiful. I felt it was a little expensive but all Japanese in Geneva are. I gave 4 stars for that reason And I would have preferred my cold sake to be served in a Traditional clay jug with small cup on crushed ice and not in a wineglass that warms up quickly. I would like to say a special thank you to the Japanese waitress who served us she was very patient and understanding of our dietary requirements… We were not easy LOL ! and I would go back just to see her!

Please don’t waste your money. We went to Namura last night after enjoying many times their sister restaurant Na Village, but was a Huge Huge disappointment! The decor of the restaurant is nice but it comes at a heavy price which is reflected in the bill. We ordered a selection from the menu and the sushi was good, not great and based on the price for example the 4 small pieces in a prawn tempura California roll would have expected it to be Wow! Even the presentation is 4 pieces and didn’t include the tail as the portion does not consist of one whole prawn! The worst part is the Japanese grill… I ordered the pork with mushroom, which basically a small mushroom cut in half on a skewer with the tiniest bit of pork stuck on it (CHF8 for 1), more laughable was the chicken skewer which was a small minced ball of chicken on a skewer (half the size of a golf ball) which while tasty was CHF9 for 1 bite! Basically these were a TOTAL rip off. The Miso soup and Edamame were fine (hard to get wrong) but everything is overpriced and sitting in nice decor does not make up for it as there is zero special about the service that you get from other restaurants at this price point. I live in Switzerland, so know the prices at eating out and restaurants and this is way off the mark. If you want sushi, then my recommendation would be Izumi, the sushi is better, the service makes your feel special and the price is less. We paid stupid money at Namura last night and afterwards went to another restaurant for main course (serious no joke!). 2 stars are purely towards the decor. My advice, save your money and go elsewhere. If you want Thai, go to Na Village but forget this sushi unless you want to burn money and leave hungry :(

Very beautiful atmosphere which makes us travel in an instant to the other side of the world

We had dinner there with my wife. The food was good, like *really* good! Amazing quality and impeccable preparation. We had the 88 CHF per person menu. Yes, it's more expensive than the average Japanese restaurant in Geneva, but here the quality is really high. Don't come here just for the sushi (which is great anyway) but also for the other Japanese dishes that much harder to find in other Japanese restaurants in Geneva. I believe the discovery menu is a great choice in this sense. Finally, the location is really nice. The restaurant is next to the beautiful garden of Na Village, and the owner is also the same. I gave 4 and not 5 because I still find it overpriced for the overall amount of food (it was ok, but not a lot) and for the service (we sat at the bar, even though rhey promised me a table!!).
