Restaurant Landhaus in Saanen

Great place in the centre of Saanen to catch up with friends for drinks or a meal. Friendly, attentive service.

We had dinner at the Landhaus restaurant in Saanen, but unfortunately we were very disappointed: -A peppermint aphid was in the aperitif -The wrong salad was served and after we kindly pointed this out to the waiter, 5 minutes later the same plate was served again, this time with apple/radish slices but still not as on the menu. -Two pieces of the eggs in the Nüsslisalat still had their shells on them -When we didn't give a tip when paying, the waiter ran away indignant and pissed off without saying goodbye. This despite the fact that we ordered an aperitif, starter, main course and wine. All in all, mistakes can always happen, but this was clearly not recommended, from the service to the kitchen. Did not like the service , a big language barrier for only English speaker visitors as we were charged twice for a single fondue we ordered even after repeatedly saying we would like to share among two as it’s our first time and we thought the server understood as per the acknowledgement , other than apologies no consideration of our bad experience . We were served two separate cheese kettles and 2nd server came and mentioned it was supposed to be one but we are giving it in two, then the third server also was handling our table and mentioned wish you told before starting the meal - I mean how many times we are supposed to update we are ordering 1 as it was a lot for us ? We are staying at Landhaus on 26th December , and heard a lot about the restaurant based on the reviews but regret dining there with no attention to detail to the request or somebody who was so excited to try the traditional food made our experience bad and multiple servers taking care of your table so miscommunication is obvious .

For a tourist visiting, the menu was was not very clear. They wrote “pinsa” on the menu for the English menu too. Would have been easier if it would been written pizza as that is something everyone understands. I ordered it thinking it a kind of a pasta and had to eat such an expensive pizza. This order was served after 1.5 hours! The staff could do with a little bit of a smile and a happy attitude. Maybe I ordered wrong but to show attitude to me for that is quite unacceptable. No apologies no smile no adjustment that can I do something for you! Pathetic hospitality. Come to india to take classes in hospitality and politeness. Classic example that people make a place. Saanen is beautiful. People are not.

A typical Swiss restaurant that unfortunately did not meet my expectations of Swiss quality. Rösti tasted dry, as if they were not freshly prepared but warmed up. Burnt onions. With the Pinsa, the ratio of dough to topping was unbalanced, so it was a bit dry. The worst experience, however, was the service. When we asked if we could have some sauce with the rösti, we reluctantly accepted. But the sauce never came, the rösti got cold, and the waiter then deliberately ignored our table. At the end there was a pro forma apology saying that unfortunately he had forgotten. At least, in fairness, the bill was reduced somewhat in the end. But that's not enough to make you want to come back or recommend a visit.
