Restaurant Mosaic in Basel

I only recently discovered this culinary gem. I have now been a guest four times and each time I have been impressed by the freshly prepared food. Freshly prepared to order is a credo at Mosaic that makes the short wait worth it. The difference is on the tongue! I haven't tried the burgers yet, as the North African mezze with changing ingredients were always extremely tasty, both as a vegetarian and meat version. The very attentive, friendly and professional service of the owner couple and the cozy atmosphere make you feel like you are staying with friends at Mosaic.

The entire menu a la minute! Cheers! The food, the service, the chef, everything was great - I've rarely had such a good VeggieBurger! The burger with minced meat from my companion was also on point. For those who don't know what a la minute means - the cooking here is still fresh! For those who don't know what freshly cooked means, go somewhere else, you won't understand or appreciate the passion here anyway, you'll just complain that you waited too long.

Excellent food and the couple who run the restaurant are so friendly and attentive. Will certainly be back. Highly recommend!

My family and I had a lovely meal here recently. It's a wonderful family owned buisness. Food was tasty, we had mezze to share and enjoyed it very much. Furthermore, the owners were also very welcoming and friendly. We will most definitely be returning sometime soon :)

This restaurant is a gem. The homemade cuisine is a delight, the place is magical but above all the chef and his wife Salima are wonderful people! Not to be missed if you are in Basel. A must !

Very good restaurant, open for a few months! Very good quality cuisine, very pleasant, warm and attentive service! Delicious dishes, well served and the mezze very varied! Next to the station less than 5 minutes on foot! Clean and well decorated restaurant! The owner is dedicated and passionate, she welcomed us into her family restaurant. Beautifully presented restaurant with Mediterranean and Oriental food. We had a menu for lunch, which was good. The staff is not yet well-rehearsed, but is always very polite and accommodating. We felt very comfortable. The only thing I would improve is the salad dressing containers. Some of them look dirty, which isn't particularly appetizing. Here I would look for another solution.

Unfortunately I have to describe my experience at this restaurant as extremely disappointing. Not only were we neglected, but we were completely ignored. After waiting 20 minutes to even ask about the menu, we still weren't served. When we finally asked for the card we were assured they would bring it immediately, but another 10 minutes passed without anything happening. Finally we decided to get up and leave since no one was paying attention to us. Surprisingly, the waitress told us that we had been overlooked because we were sitting too far back. It is incredibly disappointing that instead of an apology there was only a poor explanation. What was particularly frustrating was that it was a lunch that would normally be expected to move along quickly. Unfortunately, this experience cast a shadow over our day and we definitely won't be coming back. The service was unacceptable and completely destroyed our trust in this restaurant.

Great place to eat, especially if you’re staying at Vision Apartments in Basel. The family that run the place are a absolute delight to be around. They are friendly, professional and very excited to deliver a culinary experience. I went twice and loved it!

Excellent restaurant, good service and excellent food. I frequent it regularly and highly recommend it.

We patiently awaited our order for over an hour, which was quite surprising as we weren't informed of such a delay beforehand. Regrettably, the quality of the food was rather disappointing, possibly the least enjoyable I've had in Basel. It leads me to wonder if some of the other reviews might not have been entirely genuine.

Friendly owner-run restaurant. The mezze platter was very tasty with freshly prepared delicacies. This left us more than full at lunch. And despite the freshness, we didn't have to wait long, which was also very pleasant. In terms of price, the platter was rather expensive for lunch, but definitely worth the money. We will definitely go there again :)

I had a wonderful dinner: fried chicken with plantains and salad. All freshly made. Huge portion. 🩷 The lady was so friendly, smiling and happy. It was magical to have dinner at a wonderful atmosphere and spirit.

Five stars all around. the food is very fresh and very flavorsome with good seasoning (something many other restaurants in Switzerland are lacking). Everything is prepared freshly so they can accommodate any special requirement or likes and dislikes which I, as a fussy vegetarian eater really appreciate. Staff is very friendly, very nice atmosphere and relaxing music. I thoroughly recommend the mezze platter, every time I am going there it has a slight new twist to it and something new is on the plate, love it! Go and try it!!!!!!

Cool place and super great people. The seafood platter that was available at the weekend tasted simply sensational! The lobster and various side dishes were also really tasty! The portions are very generous! We recommend!!!

I've had take-away twice so far. The Matloua sandwich (with minced meat) is highly recommended. But the tabbouleh salad was also delicious. I'll be back, no question. Even for dinner.

Fresh and homemade I recommend.

This is one of my most beautiful restaurant experiences so far. We were greeted warmly and bursting. Everything was explained calmly and the food was brought by the whole family. The food tasted excellent! That was a flavor explosion! Everything freshly prepared and with a lot of love. At the end we were given homemade tea and biscuits. Recommend it to everyone!

I would like to give it a higher rating but I can't ❤️ it is undoubtedly wonderful. The place is cozy, the food is full of different flavors and very abundant, and the service is close and super friendly. A pleasure .

We had mezze for dinner (for two). It was all freshly prepared and beautifully served. Very friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. We got at the end hot tea and two small sweet pastries. I can only recommend this restaurant, especially as a guest in the hotel above.
