Amazing fish and great wine cellar!

We had to stop at 11:00 AM on our way to the International Concurse of Elegance in St. Moritz, because of the road closure due to Avalanche hazard. The staff was very friendly, gave us the possibility to occupy the table till 18:00. As we were waiting for the notice till 18:00 we had a coffee, lunch and dinner and dessert. Fish soup was so tasty, we had it two times )). Baked/boiled Fish in aluminum was not bad. Other dishes also were good. Bread was especially tasty. Thanks to the owner and staff for hosting us.

Very kind staff, excellent location. I was expecting a spectacular paella but it was insufficient and not up to the standard of the restaurant. Very good raw fish starter. Convenient parking in front of the venue.

Even though we are in the mountains you will find excellent freshwater but also sea fish. excellent perch fillets served as escargot. Very good sole in butter although I thought it should have been cooked a couple of minutes longer. At least once I never fail to have dinner here.

The grilled fish platter is amazing!

We stopped for a "snack" stop on our journey. We know the prices of the Engadine well but we leave it up to you to judge how much we spent for what we consumed: 3 normal slices of strudel with 3 tablespoons of vanilla sauce = 12.50 francs per slice 1 slice of Linz = 6.50 francs 2 cans of Coca-Cola = 4.80 francs each. 2 herbal teas = 4.80 francs each. Total 63.20 francs at the exchange rate in euros 70.00 euros We didn't see the prices of the cakes because they weren't written on the menu. Maybe we would have spent less by having lunch and reading the list? If you ask if you can pay in euros, you expect the exchange rate and perhaps you round up to avoid the coins, but the head waiter who is evidently not Swiss rounded up too much, in fact his colleague, as I expected, was giving me the rest in francs, but he stopped him. Average desserts, good but incorrect service at the time of change, welcoming environment with a view of the lake if you are on the veranda or outside, otherwise a normal place.

A certainly pleasant environment even if welcoming as I imagined. Excellent service, courteous, punctual but not invasive. Excellent food, excellent fish, although I would have liked a greater choice of game.

The location looks nice but the prices are expensive and I left after being ignored for 10 minutes. And no, the restaurant was not that busy.

Let's say that the saying "how you spend, you eat" is not very apt in this case. Eatable dishes but nothing exceptional.. the beautiful place on the lake.

Everything is ok, the place and the quality but let's not talk about the prices because it is true that we are a few km from Sant Moritz but the prices are crazy. Luckily we ate well but content with just one course otherwise it would have been over €100. each.

Excellent service and impressive view. The price-quality ratio of the food does not seem adequate to me.

If you are looking for a "cheap" restaurant, don't stop here, but if you are looking for a memorable service (it would be enough to mention the chips heated with the "light" to give an idea...) then sit at an outside table overlooking the lake and order, for example for example, pasta with red prawns (the spicy solution can be requested "separately") or grayling with potatoes.

Food, service and coffee overall good. German is not the native language of the staff. At a higher price level, I expect more precise information about the dishes described on the menu. The wild pepper advertised on the website is not listed on the menu. The mini tiramisu for CHF 3.80 does not deserve its name in terms of quality or quantity. The apple strudel, on the other hand, is recommended. The too few toilets are very small.

Location with a beautiful view of the lake (unfortunately on the other side of the main road). My food was ok, unfortunately a bit 'simple', uninspired in terms of taste and presentation/presentation. Side dishes minimal ("With wild rice": approx. 1 tablespoon of white rice with a few grains of wild rice ...)

Beautiful garden seating area on Lake Sils with a view of the mountains. Main street a bit disturbing. Motorcyclists are not welcome. Schnitzel with fries with a half liter of iced tea Fr. 37.8o. The schnitzel looked like a piece of cardboard and was dry. Everyone can ask themselves whether it is too expensive or not. Unfortunately, the plate with the food was just thrown there. For me the stop was a disappointment. A pity!!

Beautiful place but lousy service and mediocre food.

Murtaröl is a true oasis of peace on Lake Sils. We come regularly and that's why we decided to celebrate our wedding party at Antonio's. There was hardly anything he couldn't serve. In and around Plaun da Lej it is the go-to address for the best fish cuisine, overnight stays and everything you need for a successful stay. Down-to-earth, high-quality and honest. It is difficult to find the right words to describe the 5-course restaurant, the team, the service and the overall experience. We had a wonderful evening, were well looked after and the food was excellent. A thousand thanks to the entire Murtaröl team for the unforgettable celebration. When heaven and earth touch, you must be in Plaun da Lej...

For the prices in the menu we had higher expectations. Food was below agerage. Service was good, fantastic location.

On the road that connects Chiavenna/Maloja with Sils/St. Moritz in Plaun da Lej there is the Murtaröl restaurant which is connected to the Cristallina hotel, nearby. There is a large free car park in front. The spaces are large and you can choose to stay inside, outside (in the sun/under umbrellas) or on the veranda The room, like the bathroom, is at street level. The quality is excellent, the price/quality ratio is affected by the proximity of places such as St.Moritz, although it does not reach the levels of St.Moritz. You can admire the wonderful landscape. On the way from Chiavenna/ Maloja to Sils/ St.Moritz there is Restaurant Murtaröl which is near to Albergo Cristallina. In front of the Restaurant there is a large parking area (free). You can stay outside, inside or on the “veranda”, there are very large. The restaurant and the bath at “Street level” (no steps). Quality is excellent, the price/quality “ratio” depends on the nearness of places such as St. Moritz even if it doesn't reach the same level. The landscape is very beautiful

Indisputable price-performance ratio: a small iced coffee for 8.50 Sfr. with a mini ice cream scoop. The coffee is served separately as espresso in a mini pot. Very hard to get used to.

After a nice walk it's nice to find places like this, a good assortment of food and an enviable view all around!

An offered espresso as an apology would have been the least.

Very tasty food and a large selection of fresh fish, mussels and caviar. Nice location, right on the road, but with a wonderful view of the lake. The only deduction is that my large ice tea ice cream was unfortunately half full of ice cubes.

Restaurant in a very nice location. Rating is only for the food (pork schnitzel, fries and vegetables for the price of 31.-) how can you make such a classic so bad and then for such an expensive price. This was more of a children's portion. Few fries. Vegetables were okay, the meat had an aftertaste that suggested overlaying. That was my first but also my last visit.

Better not, way too expensive, food disaster

Service slow. No bread was brought for the main course. For example, you can't swap potatoes for pasta. Staff doesn't understand German. No salad dressing for salad. Dried out carrots on salad. It's been a long time since I've had such a bad meal in a Swiss restaurant. In the end massively overpriced…Never again! ;-)

It's ok, the employees are rather slow at lunchtime and are more concerned with regular customers than with new customers.

For years it was one of our favorite restaurants in the Engadine, but today it's just a big disappointment from the service to the food. In summary, you can say that there is a lack of love and passion in everything that is on the plate (ice-cold tuna carpaccio with a loveless salad to season yourself) as well as the service (totally stressed even though there were very few guests, we had to refill each glass of our 2 bottles ourselves, zero cordiality). Such a shame.

As always, everything was perfect last night! Super fine fish soup, paella and wine. Very friendly service! The children's meal was also delicious. Always my pleasure.

I ordered the simplest fish and chips. The fried fish is so salty that you can't eat it. And the chips are very soft. Bad food. It's not worth it.

I had a good dinner at an absolutely acceptable price for having eaten fresh fish at 1800 m with a fantastic view of Lake Sils (2 starters - mussels and smoked dish -, 2 fish first courses - with clams and red prawns from Sanremo -, dessert , coffee and a bottle of Greco di Tufo approximately 120-130 CHF). Then obviously, prices can vary based on the dishes but by choosing well you stay within certain limits. I also stopped by for lunch following the menu of the day and again it was good, the right quantities and 39 CHF for two, including water and coffee (we are in Switzerland, not Italy, it costs more!!!). To all those who give low marks for the cost of coffee I would like to point out that even the walls know that in Switzerland our beloved coffee is more expensive, get over it and if you don't want to spend, choose other destinations or give up coffee! And yes, here if you order a coffee they will bring you a long coffee while to have an espresso you have to specify "espresso"! When in Rome do as the Romans do! Among other things, as if in Italy in similar places with this panorama everything was given away! Be a little objective! I have also sometimes bought fish, always very fresh. The service is always kind and attentive.

Service is extremely poor. Guests are not served. Some left after ignoring them for a solid 20 minutes. Something like that just doesn't work and shows that the lockdown was still too short for certain hosts! Extremely disappointing!

We waited a very long time for the food, 40 minutes for a portion of fries and 2 apple strudel. The ice cream that we ordered also took 30 minutes to arrive. When we asked, the staff became very unfriendly. Once and never again.

We cannot understand or share the negative reviews from various previous speakers. We were extremely satisfied several times and the food was at a star level! Completely normal, fair prices for this level (including Switzerland!). You should expect that it may cost a little more when eating out... if you expect snack prices, you can drive down the mountain to the next village. We were always served courteously, politely and without complaint. To be fair, however, we have to mention that we are never there at the busiest times. The older people may then no longer be able to keep up. But the food and view make up for it... in some situations you just need to have some human understanding. Ultimately: The food is definitely recommended!!

The location is located in a place with a very beautiful view, facing the lake and mountains. Too bad about the road that passes in front but you can't have everything. We eat well. Rather high prices even if you have to consider that Switzerland has higher prices than Italy.

Not recommendable. We actually just wanted to eat dessert but left after 40 minutes without being served. Restaurant was only half full.

“The” fish restaurant with a wide target group: from workers, sailors to tourists passing through. Top food for a fair price. Friendly & prompt service. I'll be back!

Price/performance are not in harmony. The fish was very tasty, but extremely overpriced. Side dishes come out of the steamer. Spices are a foreign word. Separating an invoice is not possible, so we had to separate it ourselves. I can't do it and won't recommend it. For the budget we left there, there are better things in the area. The restaurant wants to look like a luxury temple, but reality shows something completely different.

The food was excellent, unfortunately the service was not, so only 3 stars.
