Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations or the good reviews. Not everything described on the menu could be ordered. Our food arrived lukewarm and tasted like it had been made the day before and not freshly prepared. The taste was rather bland and not very seasoned. It was difficult to eat through. Service was prompt. The rooms themselves were decoratively furnished. At our hour, however, a delivery person seemed to be bringing something and he quickly got drunk at the guest table and disrupted the atmosphere with loud monologues. It also made an unprofessional impression. We came for lunch, maybe it's different in the evening

Great restaurant! All food was made fresh at the time we ordered to take away. We ordered Palak Paneer, Kottu Roti with beef and Dosa. The food was Original that reminded me of my vacation in Sri Lanka! To my surprise they also had string hoppers and egg hoppers that are not always available at Sri Lankan restaurants in Europe. :) I highly recomend this place!

The Chicken Biryani is delicious. Have taken it for take away many times and the taste is good. The veg raita along with it is also very good.

If are looking for some delicious sea food especially fish and crab curry with optimal spice levels, this is a must visit place. The ambience and staff and are warm and very welcoming. I strongly recommend this place.

We went for lunch, the ambience of the restaurant was good, staff was friendly and approachable. For starters we ordered vada which was tasty but undercooked from inside. For maincourse chicken Kothu roti which tasted wierd in some way and 4pc dosa, it seemed that they used pre mixed dosa batter. The price we paid was premium for what we had.

Had dinner here while at a conference. Absolutely enjoyed the butter chicken, and the portion size was solid - specially for Switzerland. Service was very friendly, and they spoke English.

Well usually I never post any review but for this I alone with review I can help others. The owner is quite clever we asked for dosa but she told it's not available, only idli and roti were available. so we ordered 2 plates of idli and one veg kothu roti out of which 7 out of 10 idli is re heated clever play owner at the time I did forget to ask will same batter can be used for making dosa. Other than that kothu roti was not bad that doesn't mean it's good. Price is freaking high compared to the hotels in the similar area. Owner instead of replying to each review work on getting better food.

Very tasty food, although unfortunately not quite as “spicy” as the name suggests. But well, you just have to clarify when ordering. Portions are rather small, but there is a lot of variety and authentic dishes. Price-wise, completely okay.

Was visiting the basel and had about 2 hrs wait to catch the next train. Found this place providing Indian food and especially Dosa which I wanted to try. So took a tram 1 and travelled about 5 stops to reach this place. The exploration didn't disappoint me. Ambience is good. Dosa, vada and filter coffee I had was awesome. The experience of taking order in familier language jn foreign country is reall excitement. The bill came around 45chf but that's worth the money. I recommend this place. Food consumed Masala Dosa, Coriander Dosa, Medha vada South Indian coffee

Never order on UberEats here it will never come and impossible to contact. Ordered drinks and they kept delaying the delivery time and never came in the end… BAN IT !!

Authentic cuisine at a fair price. Food made with love. I definitely recommend this place. A late lunch at 1pm and there is no crowd. Best service. Not well known as it is on a quiet side street . Don't miss the great appetizers and vegetable birayni.

Ordered here recently, spent a total of 27 or 32 francs. The portion (especially the meat) was quite small with a chicken leg, instead of a yogurt sauce there was a small side salad and instead of 2 different curries there were some fried vegetables. I just didn't expect the absolute minimum that would be possible to make it look "similar" for the price, and then one thing was completely missing. Unfortunately, it's a shame. Will not order here again.

Best random walk in restaurant we've been in a while! We had some time to kill and are so happy that we picked this place! It has a great Ambiente and the staff is exceptionally friendly and happy to help. The naan bread was the best one I've had in my life!! Well come again next Fantasy Basel!

I can give 0 if this is possible. It's a purely Srilankan not Indian taste at all. I think they have to change the slogan to "pure taste of Srilanka". Was bit disappointed, probably I won't consider going there again.

I have had food from here on at least 5 occasions so far....and all the times it has been very, very good. Of course, Kothu Roti is superb, but I have enjoyed their chicken biryani, Indian pizzas (assorted ones) and the chicken spicy curry with parathas and yellow potatoes vegetables - they are extremely delicious ! Compliments to the entire team... And most importantly, their attitude towards their customers - makes one feel so welcome. Definitely, one of my favourites in Basel 👌 Keep it up !

Nice variety of Indian and Sri Lankan food within budget. Tastes are very good to satisfactory range as per the price as well. Friendly staffs. Recommended when you are in Klein Basel side.

The most recommended food I would say is Kutthu Roti. It was delicious. Biryani had meat a little rough to chew, may be this happened with me only. Others can share their experience too. However rice and chicken are good too. Ambience is good and the owner is well mannered. Thank you for a good time.

Don't trust the good reviews. They're all fakes. Those who are familiar with the Internet will see this immediately. Unfortunately I had redeemed a voucher. The food was subpar and there was no one there except us. The reservation board at the tables is just decorative. So that you have the feeling that the restaurant is well attended.

Sin sabor, sin especias, sin hierbas frescas, solo una baba suave y gelatinosa.El arroz estaba tibio y claramente no fresco, y el Naan estaba bien.Una comida básica para 2 con solo principal, 1 cerveza y 2 botellas de agua llegó a CHF 80, así que no es barata.Mi esposo trató de pagar la comida con su tarjeta Lunch Checks y me dijeron que no aceptaban esto. Can't reserve a table - phone is disconnected without greeting. Not once, twice. Then unsuccessful calls to no one - they don't want you. Despite the restaurant being open. NOT RECOMMENDED, HANDS OFF!

Delivery 45 mins late. Food very ordinary, tasteless. Packaging very unprofessional. Curry spilled in packet. Naan got soaked. All in all very bad experience. Never again.

We ordered takeaway from here for the first time. It was fresh and the whole family loved their meals. The price was good especially for Basel. Once the Covid crisis is over we are planning to sit in.

Ordered a delivery order that arrived luke warm at best and the food was shocking. The ‘chicken curry spicy’ was a pot of oil with some boney chicken. The other 2 curry’s were overly runny and very bland. While the naan was tasty the rest of the order was very disappointing.

Wir haben heute über Eat.ch bestellt. Das essen war allerhöchstens ein halbes essen und leider waren mein Mann und ich danach noch hungrig...ausserdem was fast nich schlimmer war hat die mini Portion nicht einmal geschmeckt..Was aber das witzigste war, wir haben das Essen direkt aus einem Plastik Beutel bekommen und wussten nicht einmal was darin war..Da wir öfters Indisch bestellen haben wir einen vergleich und können deswegen sagen das es absolut nicht geschmeckt hat es war sehr wässrig und das Fleisch zu lange gekocht.Mein Mann hatte das Chicken Potato und darin hatte es auch nur 2 Kartoffel Stückchen..

Vegetarian food was good. The owner Ravi and His wife were very hospitable. My colleagues who were eating meat dishes enjoyed their food, naan bread was of a Good quality. Tea was excellent. Improvement, I think additional staff might be needed to speed up the service and food preparation, both owner and wife were busy with food preparation whilst the patrons were left unattended.

never ever go to this restaurant, costly for such a a spoiled food. rude staff. My response: I visited this restaurant on 25 Aug, craving for Indian food. We ordered non-veg thali and dosa. When we asked what's included in non-veg thali the staff replied, "I don't know", mockingly smiled at us and walked away. Glad that non of us had any allergies. About the food, everything was served almost cold, may be warmed up in microwave oven or something, beef felt like rubber to chew. The only thing we manged eat without feeling weird was chicken curry, even the chutney served with dosa was cold and pale. I can understand this high pricing only if the food is freshly prepared, if the place look clean, and also being the fact that its in Switzerland. Non of them were met other than being in that country. Do you keep cooked food in fridge and serve when ordered by heating it, I would really like to know. Also they didn't bother to tell beforehand, its bottled water(served in an open vase) and charged 8 euros for water, last one I can understand, even though it was a surprise for us.

17. 07. 2019 Fuimos allí con expectativas positivas y dejamos de decir nunca más. Antes de ir al tatuaje de Basilea, decidimos por Spicy, llegamos temprano (19: 15) y pedimos un plato de Tandoori. Preguntamos por adelantado cuánto tiempo lleva saber que las cosas no pueden ser apresuradas. La camarera nos aseguró entre 20 y 30 minutos. A las 20:00, preguntamos cuánto tiempo llevaría, ya que no queríamos apresurar la buena comida. A las 20: 10 volvimos a preguntar y nos tranquilizaron solo unos minutos. Finalmente, el Plato llegó a las 20: 20, entre la pila de trozos de papas (un relleno de plato), sin una vista de ninguna carne como se indica en el menú, algunas piezas de pescado y ninguna vista del cordero. La camarera simplemente no era honesta, la comida no era lo que se describe en el menú. La iluminación del restaurante era defectuosa, parpadeaba constantemente las bombillas, no había luces en los baños, no había papel higiénico en las mujeres.

Disappointing. I had started going to this place since it newly opened, as it was one of the rare places to find Dosa. However, I see now that the prices have increased while the quality hasn't. Tried Masala Dosa and neither the sambhar nor the dosa and not even the Mango lassi tasted very good. Tap water is not available - which is a rarity considering drinkable water is so easily accessible everywhere in Switzerland. Overall, spacious restaurant with not so pleasant food or attitude.

The first time I experienced that tap water is not available in a restaurant in Switzerland. The price increased quite a lot but the food quality didn't. Poorly prepared sambhar and dosa. Only the filling was nice.

Mitten im Kleinbasel ein spezielles srilankisches Restaurant. Unter anderem gute Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Nette Bedienung, das Essen kam rasch, grosszügige Portionen, fein aromatische Gerichte. Preis/Leistung stimmt.Leider hatte es an dem besagten Abend nur ganz wenige Gäste. Ich würde den Pächtern viele zufriedene Gäste wünschen.Wir kommen wieder.

Wir waren in kurzer Zeit zweimal im Spyci. Wir sind begeistert von der guten Kühe. Ob Indisch oder Srilankkesisch, für jeden Geniesser dieser Küche ein Muss. Die Freundlichkeit der Wirtin Sarah und der bedienenden Tochter ist einmalig. Hier wird Gastfreundschaft gross geschrieben. Gemütlich essen gehen, bevor man z.B. ins "Häbse"-Theater geht. Das kulinarische mit dem kulturellen zu verbinden, gelingt hier gut.

Sono amante della cucina dello Sri Lanka dal giorno in cui ho provato il Cottu Roti in casa di privati tanti anni fa e... ecco che come una macchina del tempo questo Cottu Roti mi riporta là! Non lasciatevi ingannare dalla semplicità del posto o dalla location non proprio top... Qui è nascosta una gemma culinaria!!! Come primo il pollo fritto in pastella ai ceci, semplicemente stupendo! Poi per ne come detto Cottu Roti e per mia moglie il curry con gamberoni! Non perdetevi questo posto, per nulla al mondo! Purtroppo non ho fotografato i piatti... ma lo farò la prossima volta!Ringrazio la famiglia titolare per l’ospitalità!

Während andere Restaurants rund um dieses Hotel voll waren, war es dort ziemlich einsam. Die Kellnerin, die nebenher zu kochen schien, war sehr angenehm und freundlich. Trotzdem war die Atmosphäre nicht einladend. . . Das sollte durchaus als Warnung verstanden werden. Am Ende war es mein persönlicher Schwachpunkt in Bezug auf indisches Essen (Curry zu dünn, um naan zu tauchen und nicht lecker).

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Auch mit einer Laktoseintoleranz war es kein Problem, etwas zu finden. Die Bedienung war diesbezüglich sehr hilfsbereit und hat abgeklärt, was laktosefrei ist. Ich komme gern wieder.
