If you are looking for a great Indian Restaurant then you just found it! The food is super delicious, the service is great and overall it‘s just a great experience!

The food was exceptionally good and the staff was very friendly and in a great mood. You can tell the restaurant is run with a lot of passion.

I have already visited the Indian Restaurant Royal Palace twice. The first time was on a Friday evening when my girlfriend and I ordered naan and a main course each. The food was average, especially the butter chicken, which unfortunately didn't have much flavor. In comparison, the butter chicken at the Indian Summer restaurant tastes a lot better. When we wanted to pay the bill, I pointed out that we would like to redeem a voucher from the percentage book. However, the waitress told us that it was too late for that and immediately called the boss to our table. The boss explained to me that he could no longer take the voucher into account because this was "technically" no longer possible in the checkout. He should have been informed before ordering the dishes that we wanted to redeem the voucher. I accepted his answer, although I believe one could delete an order in the checkout and re-enter it. I didn't start a discussion, paid, gave a tip and left the restaurant. Yesterday I was there again and told the boss when I entered that I would like to redeem the voucher. Everything went smoothly until I received the bill at the end. By the way, the butter chicken still had the same low flavor intensity. To my amazement, the corresponding amount was deducted from the receipt by hand with a pen! What wasn't possible on the first visit suddenly didn't seem to be a problem. This begs the question: Why do you need to know at the outset whether someone wants to redeem a voucher or not? You might almost think that smaller portions would be prepared in the kitchen if the restaurant knows that guests want to redeem a voucher. A pity!

Very good vegetarian options and home made paneer. Great people and a cozy atmosphere. Absolutely worth a visit. I can strongly recommend the Royal Shahi Paneer.

Extremely delicious 🤤 real Indian food, great service, they are really kind and make you feel at home. I’m from Mexico and they asked me if I wanted the Mexican level of spice and they absolutely delivered. I recommend the chicken vindaloo and the garlic bread ❤️👌🏻

Super delicious food! Had a lot of trouble with the Ubereats order (it wasn't delivered). The manager of the restaurant then brought me the food himself! Great thing!

The food was very delicious. We had a mango lassie and biriyani. The service was very top. You can't complain about the price. I highly recommend going there.

Australians travelling through Europe and this was our best meal yet. The food was so delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially with our two year old daughter. I wish we were staying longer so we could try more of the food!

Worst restaurant and owner !!! Avoid if possible. Owner does not like if the customer just wants to drink tea (less priced items) because its less profitable for him. He will say unkind things in case if you consume items worth less money. He wants you to have dinner at 04:00 PM and not the tea.

The best food we had on our tour to Europe and Switzerland. Typical Punjabi cuisine and fresh naan. It felt like Bradford. Pa gee Pooni makes you feel at home and Punjabi hospitality is matchless.

Again the best evening food ever! My family from England came to visit us so we had to take them to our favourite Indian Restaurant in Basel. My grandma was on a wheelchair but we’re so thankful to royal palace we didn’t had any problems with it🙏🏻 We ordered Tandoori Chicken Tikka Masala with cucumber Raita and Butter Naan which was the best combination! Of course Mango Lassi was added as well… for the dessert we had Gajar Ka Halwa which was super sweet for me and my kids and for my grandma we could order which wasn’t that much sweet. I love how we can decide everything what we want which is amazing and we can’t find in another restaurant.

Unfortunately, a very long wait for the food. We must have waited about 90 minutes. Drinks were only served upon request after a long time. The food was actually good, but very dry for the rice as a side dish. We asked for some gravy (liquid curry) to eat with rice, but they gave us a menu and wanted us to order a separate dish for it. The food was not justified for this price ratio. We think the prices are too high for this meal (even in large quantities).

It was great experience here and food had authentic taste . If i will go to Basel again then definitely i will go again in this restaurant . Owner is also very friendly .He gave me the parking as well in his basement .

The food was delicious!!! I felt like I'm in a restaurant that it based in India. The food quality is really high so there is no discussion about the price.. They have a indian "Tandoor" and that's amazing!!! My kids tried first time indian food in Switzerland and literally now they're a food lover of ROYAL PALACE BASEL! They make the cheese which is called paneer by themselve, I was so impressed because in other restaurants we can taste that the paneer is like a gum. Mango lassi was my favorite!!! The whole team is so friendly and respectful. I would suggest you all to visit the restaurant Royal Palace Basel!!!

6 pieces of chicken without fries for 10chf ????? Incredibly expensive. Syrup must be paid for. Normally it's free. Service very slow. Don't come back.

The Royal Palace is a spectacular combination of amazing Customer Service and Quality food. The quality of the food was really great and staffs are kind and explained the menu in a good way. They suggested the Mixed Grill and we tried it and liked it very much.

We have been enjoying their food since I was pregnant of my daughter, who’s now 14. They are a kind loving family and the food is simply delicious and you always get the same quality. Highly recommend.

Ordered take away. Meat is tasty/well cooked but sauces, raita, naan are all boring and not seasoned enough. Not authentic.

My first Indian restaurant experience. I was positively surprised. Tasty food and freshly prepared sauces with pappadam. The lamb korma was great too. I took my favourite peshwari naan, which was not quite to my taste. The mango lassi was delicious too. Friendly service and I can definitely recommend it.

We always eat there. This is a family business and the owner and his wife as well as the wait staff are always very friendly. The food excellent. I particularly like the sauces there, they are very flavorful. The food has that certain something about it, which is why we keep coming back. Ambiance is simple but very well maintained.

Surprisingly yummy, few dishes tastes even better than in India itself. Perfect flavour and wonderful taste along with awesome ambience and splendid hospitatlity. I was in the restaurant with a friend at lunchtime, the menus were very tasty and large enough. The service was very friendly. The prices are totally OK (18 and 20 francs for menus with chicken). The toilets were clean.

The restaurant offers various menus at lunchtime, and in the evening there is a menu with a lot to choose from. You can also choose from the menu at lunchtime. We were there for lunch and ordered various dishes from the menu, including a mango lassi. Everything was very good and the service was very friendly.

I have been to a lot of indian restaurants in my life and I would definitely rank this one in my top 3. The service is very good and the food delicious. I love spicy food but as an European guy I don't like when it's too spicy. I told Lucky (the waiter) how spicy I wanted my meal and the food arrived perfectly spicy. I strongly recommend this place

Unfiltered Butter Chiken with lumps, Chef's specialty Murgh Malai tikka not controlled at all, sauce too thick, undercooked chicken, chicken that cracks in the mouth. Garlic Naan inedible too much garlic. I really don't understand the rating of this restaurant as being overrated and expensive! Unfortunately I won't come back.

Delicious and very nice staff. We showed up 15 minutes before they opened, but they allowed us to sit down as we waited. The whole party agreed the meal was delicious!

Very long waiting time for the starter of 90 minutes, other guests came later and received the starter and main course before we received our starter. No explanation/apology. Food relatively good, but expensive. Rice for 2 not enough, service without interest (no questions about food/drinks).

Still the best Indian restaurant around. I've been going to Pooni in the Royal Palace before Taj Mahal for about 20 years and the food has always been very good. I would go there just for the naan bread, as it is made in a tandoor oven. Simply sensational, I never had such good Indian food on my trip to India. Bravo keep it up

We have never had such fine Indian food anywhere else here in Switzerland. The curries, the rice with nuts and raisins, the yogurt sauce and the naan, everything was very spicy and incredibly tasty! In addition, the employees were very friendly, they gave advice and repeatedly asked whether everything was OK or whether they could bring anything else. Even though we were still eating after the store closed, they all gave us time and always remained cordial. Thanks for everything ♡

Great Indian Restaurant, norther Indian style

The food is excellent, no question. So why 3 stars? 45 too late, lukewarm, a side dish was added to my order that I hadn't ordered, the basic side dish was charged extra, this resulted in my bill going from 31.50 to 39.90. Conclusion: Good cuisine, misleading prices. If you are willing to pay more and wait a long time for it, you can order here. The food tastes really good though, kudos to the chef!

food is bomb but a loooong wait

Ordered food by phone. I was told I could pick it up in an hour. After an hour I went to the restaurant and had to wait another 40 minutes. I was repeatedly told that the food would be ready soon. There was no apology from the owner and no discount. The food was very tasty, nothing to complain about here. But the waiting time and dealing with the customers, that's just not possible! Was the last time for me!

The food is good, but I had to wait 2 hours for my order at home. Eat.ch had been waiting on site for an hour.
