On our honeymoon in Switzerland. We were in this town of Brienz to ride a scenic steam train up the mountain. We stopped by this restaurant to have a meal before getting back on the road for a couple hours. The guy waiter was very nice and smiled and gestured for us to sit. We chose a table , the lady waitress came over very rude and grabbed a small piece of paper off the table that we assumed meant reserved and looked back at the guy , he said it was fine and then she asked us in German if we had reservations .. I think? I said no and she left , no hello nothing , manager or owner came out said hi to us briefly looked a little but I don’t think she cared too much either. Seems this place has a reputation of not treating tourists kindly. We got up and left. Not spending money or time in a place we don’t feel welcome. We went down by the water and ate from a food truck! The guy was kind!! Great service, this place could learn from them. Tourists can make or break your business, but more importantly kindness can go a long way. I hope they’re never treated like this while traveling abroad.
