A very cozy restaurant. Light wood makes the room friendly and bright. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is simply divine (meat from the hot stone) and the possibly long journey here is definitely worth it. Price/performance absolutely ok. We'd love to come back there.

Unfortunately, one of the serving daughters (with Asian roots) is not very friendly and seems extremely stressed. She doesn't really seem to like children either. Normally all the serving girls are very nice, but this time we as regulars were disappointed. If you are served in an unfriendly and annoyed manner, you will immediately miss your food. This lady needs to be properly trained. But there are still two extra stars for the delicious food, because the chefs can't do anything about it for their work colleagues.

Arrived 10 minutes late. To which we responded unprofessionally (childishly) by making us wait in the half-empty bar for 10 minutes until we were allowed to order something to drink.

After a fire, the restaurant was rebuilt, including new and modern toilets. Service: We made a reservation at short notice and arrived there 1/2 hour after our reservation for the garden pub. Since it was just after 1 p.m., only 3 tables were occupied. A table has just been abandoned. We stand at a table and wait. Two service employees don't even look at us, ask the table next door if they would like another coffee, and the empty table behind us is cleared away. The coffee is brought to the next table and the waitress goes back to the counter. We are still standing and now dare to ask us to sit down. After about a minute one of the two came to our table: 'Yes, please?'. No greetings, no welcome. After the menu cards were brought, we order. A game plate for around 41.- and a pork chop for around 28.-. We actually came because of the Hot Stone but it wasn't offered to us. We didn't ask either. The menu selection seemed predetermined. When we were told that we had reserved, we were immediately told 'No. We only have one reservation left for Ott.' Works fine. The portions were decent but not large. Since we had gone hiking beforehand and were hungry, we asked the waitress after both plates had been cleaned if there was a second helping. In a shrill tone, the first word that came out of her mouth was 'No!'. We were then told that this was not planned and also not possible. This is all weighed up. Followed by much more text that should make us realize how absurd our request was. We were so perplexed by the reaction that I asked for the bill. We had just paid and were about to leave when another lady approached us: "Are you the one who complained about the portions being too small?" (similarly - I don't remember the exact wording) No "Grüezi", no "I'm the cook" or whoever was standing in front of us. This person also explained to us how absurd our question was: everything was weighed in the kitchen and they had never had one like that before Complaint heard. We didn't want to 'cheat' anything here, we just asked politely. A 'for 5.- I'll be happy to make you another portion of French fries' or 'we're sorry, if you're still hungry, we have some really great desserts. Would that be an option for you?' I used to be a regular guest at Sternen and we went there every year with a group of 20 people. It was always great. (Hence 2 stars, even if the last visit would have earned 0 stars.) I can't remember ever being treated so unwelcomingly in a restaurant. So that was definitely our last visit here. Food: The food was good, the portions were decent but not suitable for being very hungry. Price/performance: not cheap - roughly at the high level of the city of Zurich By the way: After paying, we walked to the Sunnebad restaurant a few hundred meters away and enjoyed our desert there in a very well-kept, small park with a fountain and a great view. If Sternenberg comes back, then at least we know where to go next time.

The Sternen restaurant welcomed us immediately, made room within a few minutes and put together an excellent brunch. Without the star team, our festival would have been completely ruined. Natürlich entschuldigten wir uns und verstanden auch die Geschichte und den Massnahmen wegen Covid-19.Doch ein Lächeln wäre ein Lächeln, keine der 3 Damen fand es nötig nur einem Gast freuntlichkeit entgegen zubringen.Essens teller wurden schon fast auf die Tische geknallte.Der Charm von früher ist weg und die freundlichkeit auch.Schaade.
