Very good steak cooked on the stone which is coming in your own plate so you have cook it as you wish. The amount of food is huge so you will end up stuffed for sure! Also to point out the viewing you find next to the restaurant.

Only had lunch there and can't recommend it at all. The quality wasn't right.

Having not stayed, this review is only for the restaurant. Fondue liquid like water, Tania the manager explains to us that it's normal, at the second comment she tells us that she will change it for half and half! 15 minutes later it was the same one who came back to the table just as liquid, in the end she told us that we didn't know how to eat the fondue and not to mix it in the fondue pot. We had a great dinner here last night. Our family (2 adults and 2 children of 9 and 11 yrs) craved for Fondue and initially ordered fondue for 3 and a roasti. The friendly waitress suggested us to get fondue for 2, which was indeed enough. The roasti was also nice and crispy. The icecream was surprisingly delicisous and only cost 3CHF per scoop. They were very patient and tolerated my broken German, even though the waitress speaks English fluently. Overall it was a great experience!

My husband and I were looking for a place to have a traditional Swiss dinner our last night in Wengen. Believe it or not, after almost two weeks in the country we had not yet had fondue! Taverne Bernerhof popped up on our radar, but after reading negative reviews about the service I was hesitant to make the booking. I'm so glad we did, however, and our experience was nothing but top notch. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to make reservations on the patio for the following evening which were happily accommodated. My husband and I enjoyed a draft beer and shared the fondue for two with mushrooms and herbs. The fondue and its accompaniments were delicious and left us very full. The service we encountered was VERY friendly the entire evening. We would not hesitate to recommend a meal here!

We ate at this restaurant because we wanted a more authentic Raclette meal than is generally served in this town. We all started our meal with drinks and a visit to the salad bar. A table-top cheese melting unit was then brought to our table along with a dish of small cooked potatoes and the usual pearl onions & pickles mixture. We let the top of the cheese melt and then scraped it onto our potatoes. It was very good. We also ordered the plate of dried meats to supplement the Raclette. We finished the meal by sharing Apple strudel. A very good overall dinner. Our waiter did seem a tad rushed. Perhaps they were under-staffed on this particular evening.

Having had Raclette and fondues in Zurich we wanted to try something else that was Swiss. Here we had delicious sausage, onion gravy and Rosti. I had to leave most of the Rosti as it was such a generous serving, but I ate all the sausage and the gravy. Wine didn't seem to go with this food and since I'm not a beer drinker, a Ramseier cider was recommended for me and that was a perfect choice. My husband had beer though. The restaurant was full but the staff were excellent and our waiter was so friendly and efficient.

The fondue was nice and that was about it. The mince and “military noodles” were terrible, 90% noodles and 10% mince. The rosti and sausage were the worst we’ve had since arriving in Switzerland two weeks ago. My impression is that food is prepared with minimal input and ingredients and is for tourists only. Had rosti and fondue here. Fondue was okay, but not as good as Restaurant Eiger a couple of nights earlier. The rosti was simply horrible. My wife is part Swiss, knows what rosti is and how to cook it. She only ate about 3 bites of her dish and declared it the worst dinner of our trip!

We loved this restaurant! We ate there 3 times out of 6 nights. Great fondue, the wine was really nice with local/regional choices. I loved the Hot Stone meals...I had the steak with frittes twice. They bring out a little bib for you, too, in case the sizzling steak splatters. 4 delicious sauces for your frittes or steak. Always very busy but we were able to get in right away with no reservations. Highly recommend.
