Excellent Italian restaurant. We are on the verge of a gourmet restaurant. Everything is good, the service is top notch and the room is pleasant. The terrace in summer is magnificent. High prices but justified. Also tested in a group and the service was efficient and the food was still good. My favorite place in Nyon to eat well.

I discovered this restaurant three weeks ago, we went there with friends and especially appreciated the magnificent terrace and the service. The food was good but nothing more, we all had the daily menu for 38.-: starter, main course, dessert, the quality-quantity-price ratio was correct. That being the daily special at 24.-only would clearly not have been enough. Excited by this discovery, I went back yesterday, and there was a huge disappointment. There were six of us, arriving at 12:30 p.m. we did not receive our dishes until 1:45 p.m. the starters were not served until around 1:00 p.m. For my part, I didn't have a starter, only a main course. In this case, the tomato risotto and burrata cream thought it would be better served than the dish of the day. In no way did it deserve more than one star. The rice was poorly cooked or perhaps was not risotto rice, the taste was extremely bland, we could hardly taste the tomato, there was almost no basil (a micro leaf), and four poor mini halves of dried cherry tomatoes (quality and good by the way), well in terms of quantity the rice was spread in a thin layer on a flat plate which should not have made more than a small bowl of food in short I ate out of hunger, without any pleasure and what's more, I didn't eat until I was hungry: 33.-chf!!! I regret not having taken a photo... the two waiters not having returned to the bar side after having deposited the dishes we were not able to communicate our disappointment and after an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting for my I wasn't going to get up and tell them on the other side of the restaurant either. We actually had to go look for them in the other room to pay...I found this experience frankly unpleasant considering the high price of the dishes. I won't go back there again and we all left disappointed and late...

Just enjoyed a take home supper from Ulivo and it was absolutely delicious - a really enjoyable ‘date night’ experience for crazy Covid times. We had the creamy leek and potato veloute for starters, then shared mains of branzino and beef filet followed by delicious Grand Marnier Baba and Tiramisu. We were concerned that it was a bit overkill to have a take out of fine dining - but we needn’t have worried. Everything was cooked to perfection and we would highly recommend for a special occasion. Ulivo is one of our favourite Nyon restaurants and the ‘take home’ version didn’t disappoint. If you need to treat yourself why not give it a go!

A 'tempura of seafood and vegetable' available as a starter and main suffered from the average quality of the tempura batter - well, if one compares to the featherlight batter in high end tempura restaurants in Tokyo or Kyoto. The seafood risotto our daughter had was fine, the portion huge. The fagottini de brochet au safran were fine too but underseasoned. The Italian chardonnay from Tuscany we had was good.

This restaurant has some splendid Italian red wines - top quality and priced accordingly. Ulivo offers a three course lunch for CHF38 which is very good value and there was fresh sea bass on offer that day. There are always certain specials available. Could not fault the food although they forgot to add some lemon to the crab and asparagus starter which left the dish somewhat bland.!! This was immediately accepted and my wife was offered dessert by the maitre d'hotel.
