Please please just swap out your display pots for some stainless steel or so. That amount of scratched Teflon is a heath hazard. :/

It's a shame, suddenly there's practically no seating, you're "fobbed off" and you don't have to use plastic if you eat on site. Food is still great as before.

I would actually like to give the food a much better grade, but the combination of increasing prices and cheekily only giving 75 grams of vegetables per bowl - It would be much healthier and better with more vegetables!

I always enjoyed going to Rice Up. Because of the good food, I even overlooked the bald gentleman's extreme unfriendliness. But now unfortunately there is no more minced meat. The bean substitute is simply not an alternative. Very unfortunate...

Catastrophe! We went there today after work with my colleague. The employee said, unfriendly and already annoyed, that we would close at 9 p.m., I answered her that we still had half an hour until then and that we would be gone before then and she didn't have to worry. They didn't want to serve us at all. They didn't really understand what we wanted and were very reluctant to put in the food. We felt very unwelcome and unfortunately ate upset. Not nice behavior like that. I think we will have to look for another alternative in the future.

Fast and healthy food. You have the choice and can put together your own individual meal the way you would like it. I liked it.

They used to be fair with their TooGoodTogo boxes, now it's just corn and sauce. No other vegetables, no rice. I'm pretty sure this isn't worth 15.- The Stadelhofen store also started doing the same, so I assume this is a chain wide policy. I understand that they want maximize profits, but corn and sauce can't be worth 15.-, not even in Zurich.

Such a great option for vegetarian and gluten free! Great healthy fast food!!

All dishes are gluten and lactose free (as per sign outside). 'Fast food' but tasty nevertheless. Great value for money, lots of food provided for reasonable price for Switzerland. Went back the following day 😊

An inexpensive (swiss standard) meal in the train station. Customers select the protein and sauce and then the sauce is poured on top of protein and the rice. Taste wise not great compared to the price. An option to consider if you’re looking for something fast but filling.

I loved the super fast service when I needed to grab something on the go: portion sizes are good, prices are very good (for Switzerland).

The attitude of the Indian lady working here is horrible.

They don't give water for a thirsty child, just because want to sell juice, when you don't give tap water for free, then you are not human , no matter how much money you make, have some basic human attitude, message to owner of the restaurant

Either you completely forgot the sauce or there was way too little. dry thing. Amount in total also less than already. on the phone She apologizes from home and next time... see photo. At lunchtime at 4 p.m. you can eat a variety of good, warm meals. now with enough sauce. new wasabi sesame. feiiiin. good portion sizes and friendly service. Unfortunately gingerapple with additional agave syrup, that wouldn't be necessary. That's why I won't buy any more drinks. If possible, I don't want any additional sweetness to go with the apple ginger taste. Price performance quality top for Zurich! More like six stars because the packaging for the bowls can be chosen or not chosen. bowls are tight.

The best an asian food lover can get while travelling. Please note this restaurant is 2 floors below the main platforms. Had a sprint to the place and got take away in 5 mins. If it had taken another 10 minutes i would have missed my train. We ordered grilled chicken rice and grilled beef rice. Not too spicy neither can be said to any particular asian recipe. A fusion of various Asian food styles. Thank you so much.

Once again Jewish style at the rice up counter… I can only repeat myself… food is MEGA! But the way the bowl is filled at the counter is just stingy... You are asked to pay 5.50 so that you get a proper portion of meat.

Before I wrote this review, I tried to talk to GL in person and again shortly afterwards by telephone. Unfortunately unsuccessful. The situation is as follows: My husband goes out to buy 3rd portions (2nd adult & 1st child). Child is at home with me, the mother, due to illness. The employees are cheeky and want proof that this child exists. This is despite the fact that we have often bought food there with our son, and some of them even know his name. What is that supposed to help? For the cheaper price you get a small children's portion. Pure cheek, they think you're trying to rip them off and go below the belt. Instead of remaining polite and customer-focused, they prefer to lose customers. We will not buy anything there again and recommend that families with children stay away from this store. Fortunately, there are enough other take-aways in Zurich where you can easily get a smaller portion for children. We clearly distance ourselves from food waste and never buy a large portion for children. Conclusion: They stubbornly insist on their “concept” and are unable to understand the customer. I love rice up, it's a shame they closed the big room in the city center. The one at the station is very small and you need luck to get a place. The quantities are very generous.

Half an hour to closing time and only one choice left, it wasn't terrible but I regretted getting the food there as I could have had something better elsewhere.

If you're looking for a delicious meal at the train station that's healthy and filling, you've come to the right place. Great selection of toppings and drinks, the price is around 16fr depending on the selection. I really enjoy going there :) The ambience is great in the train station, if you like it you'll definitely give it 5 stars because the rest is great!

Tiny joint but daresay HUGE on flavor … it is not pricey compared to Swiss standards … Being a location at the train station, the seating is limited that too inside. The portions of the rice bowl are huge and the bowl is exploding with flavor.

A great restaurant with great staff. The last time I was there, the employees were listening to the radio and were so happy about what I was doing and that made my day immediately better. I would happily recommend👍🏽

It was my first time there and I found it very nice. Big portion. To recommend!

Price/performance is good and a wide range of options. However, the plastic lids are of no use when it comes to take-away, as they keep opening and can empty the entire dish into your bag if you're unlucky. Hopefully the person who came up with this idea didn't get promoted because of it.

All the food here is gluten free, according to their website. There is no much place to seat, it is not the kind of place to go for a date, but it is good to get some food on the fly. The food is actually amazing.

The lady got my order wrong and when I politely pointed out told me that ‘I will pay you the 2 fr with my own money okay!’ Needless to say that really freaked me out.

Unfortunately, today I had to confirm this with the annoyed staff as soon as something no longer went according to (their) plan. Inflexible as soon as it no longer went according to plan: The tofu was out, but I still had to pay an extra charge because I took a second vegetable instead of a (more expensive) protein side dish. I only come for the (very tasty) tofu, but after this experience I'll have to look for an alternative. It's a shame, at these prices I would expect a certain degree of flexibility with a sense of proportion, especially since they are used for advertising. The food was impeccable. Correction: The food was below all standards. The friend's chicken was inedible, really hard and dry, and unseasoned, almost raw broccoli. The rice is totally overcooked and super soggy. Unfortunately not again, and there is no need for a generic response from Rice-Up under this comment, the generic meal was enough and wasn't worth the money.

NO-GO experience: In my bowl (with rice, tofu, zucchini, broccoli and sweet and sour sauce) there were pieces of meat and whole cashew nuts. an absolute NO-GO!! I'm a vegetarian and have severe nut algeria. I was just lucky that I saw the nuts. on the other hand, the rice was practically match. I recommend rice up! not for allergies.

This place was safe, tasty, and convenient. Grateful for a train station option that isn’t pretzels or sandwiches or pastries! 100% gluten free, great option for coeliacs/celiacs who are passing through Zurich HB.

A big portion of rice with affordable price. As an asian who couldn't live without rice, this place is such an oasis. The taste was great, but the portion is too big for us. We enjoyed it so much. There was a limited seating area inside the restaurant, but they also have a separated seating area across the place.

Went to get a quick bite at the Zurich HB location at 8:35 pm (They close at 9 pm). I always make sure to get to a restaurant well before their closing time and order quickly. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff who was serving us told me that they are closing and we need to order quickly. Fair enough. They were out of a lot of the items, understandably so. So I picked whatever worked for me. All this is happening in under 1 minute. All the time while filling up my bowl, the staff member kept on telling that they need to close and that they will be charged/fined if they don't close on time. I wasn't the only customer there but definitely the one who this was being told to. She must have told me this at least 5-6 times. We decided to eat on one of the tables along with 2 other customers. The staff member came running to me before I could even sit and told me we need to eat fast and make it quick in under 5 minutes. Nothing was told to the other 2 customers. It was very unwelcoming and humiliating. Oh, and she had also asked me if I would be okay paying CHF 17 for my food in a rather condescending tone. I was with my senior parents and this entire experience was rather insulting.

Food are great but the service is poor, unfriendly staff, I choose the things I like, they put so little amount, I asked him to put a little more extra rice (not minding to pay extra as I always buy from Winterthur and stadelhofen branch) but the staff looked at me like really mad and then he continue to put so little to other stuff I choose. I hope this could be improved as I’ve heard bad other stories about the service.

Excelent food. Generous portions very good after a long trip. You may choose the ingredients which are healthy in my view. Covers all tastes from spicy and hot to normal. I totally recommend it.

You can put together your own personal dish. All ingredients are already prepared. Therefore everything happens very quickly and you don't have to wait long. Surprisingly, the food was still hot after unpacking. I thought it tasted very good and the quantity was sufficient. Price/performance is right for me. The staff is quick, but unfortunately not very friendly and easily annoyed if you haven't decided on everything beforehand.

Started great, became meh… portions keep getting smaller and smaller, while service continues to be disappointing.

Open until 8 p.m. on Sundays. When we entered the restaurant at 7:45 p.m. we were emphatically informed that they closed at 8 p.m. Only a small part of the offer was available, and the food was lukewarm and tasted almost exclusively of sugar, probably far too many flavor enhancers... At 7:57 p.m., when we had almost finished eating, someone from “service” came to our place again to emphasize that it would be over in 3 minutes. This makes you feel stressed and completely unwelcome. If they continue like this, they are well on their way to losing customers and therefore business.

The food was really good. The price was also fair. The lady behind the counter patiently explained the ordering process to us, as there are various choices. The ambience was of course moderately nice in a train station. But that is in the nature of things.

Since the last visit the prices have been increased and the portions have been reduced.

The idea is good that you can choose the side dishes for the meal (rice/pasta, salad + meat/veggies + vegetables etc.) But dirty! Table not cleared, even though 7 people are standing 5m opposite and chatting and everyone has a good view of the tables. One of three tables is very wobbly. Service is inattentive, entertains itself and does not keep an eye on the guests. Well, it's just the main station. I can only recommend it to a limited extent if you don't want burgers, currywurst, pasta or kebab or bakery. To eat: Red rice and the beans were very al dente, so not really cooked. Whoever likes it... Overall, not a pleasant atmosphere for me. It's a shame, there's probably a lack of the right attitude.

I really like Rice Up and come here often. Unfortunately, this is the second time that the planted chicken was so charred that it was no longer edible. I would have liked to bring it back, but I couldn't because I was already on the train.

I was a regular customer at Riceup at the airport and HB for a long time. But now I get annoyed every time I visit. I can't understand why the portions have become so small. 1kg of chicken costs 8fr in the wholesale trade. I pay 20fr for a bowl and get so little meat that I have to look for it. For 3 years I ate at your place at least 3 times a week. But I can no longer support such a business policy. Many recessions touch on this topic. However, the leadership doesn't seem to care.

The food is usually quite good but unfortunately there is always too little sauce! That's a bit of a shame, especially when you consider that sauce production is relatively cheap. 5 stars if enough sauce

I don't know who you're trying to make fun of here, but one employee gives out decent, fair portions and another doesn't even give you the true value of 7.00 (I know what costs how much, I'm from the catering industry!) Next time I'll explicitly ask for it the employees who give a good portion! SHAME

I just got some from Rice Up and every time it's always the same problem, they season it according to Swiss taste and not the way you would season it at home, I think it's a shame, it's far too salty and for the hefty price They give you 5 pieces of beans/vegetables and the rice is always watery unfortunately, the concept itself is great, you just shouldn't season it in the Swiss way, you won't taste anything and more of everything would be nice since you only use rice and vegetables If you have to pay 16 euros and without a drink, I think you can be a bit more generous!

A good surprise for a takeaway located in station! The food is tasty and you can compose your own dish with the ingredients you choose. There is some more place next to the restaurant where one can sit. Quantities are rather large in particular for the price. The price tag, considering the location, the taste and the quantities is really good.

When I saw that you only use disposable tableware in your restaurant, I turned back. Seriously, you call yourself organic? Do you really believe that? Even if your plates are made of recycled paper and your cutlery is made of “organic plastic”. You waste resources every day and produce tons of waste that could be AVOIDABLE. What's so hard about purchasing and using reusable tableware? Best regards, an almost customer.

The food is just awesome.This was my first experience with Rice up and it was good.The staff is really nice and helpful. You can customize your rice bowl as per your taste and everything they add is full with flavors. Very quick service, and always busy. There is a queue, but not so much of waiting time. I would definitely try it next time I am visiting Switzerland.

I threw up three times because the chicken was no longer good. As you can read in the reviews, this probably happens quite often. Never again....

Quick and relatively cheap (Zurich is crazy expensive for everything).

I was really liking Rice Up (got a bowl from there 2 times and it was very good). Unfortunately I just bought the chicken satay bowl today for dinner and now I have a stomach ache :( The chicken was bad (didn’t notice at first but at the end I could taste some of the pieces were bad). Please make sure your chicken is fresh and don’t feed your customers bad chicken! If it smells bad don’t cook it!

Far too small portions. The bowl doesn't even come close to being filled. There would be no need for the lid because there is nothing to pour out.

Very good food, always come back & it's good every time. Price/performance optimal. Location is in the HB = few seats. More suitable for take-away.

This is my first time buying from Rice Up Zürich and should be the last as well. I am not calculative person but I really hate when people lie or twists their words. I ordered Meatballs Bowl and decided to add on grill chicken (extra protein) and the lady that served me said it’s extra cost of CHF5.50 (which I am aware of) on top of the CHF13.90. The time I wanted to pay the cashier ONLY charged me CHF13.90 (I can just pay and go but I’m not that kind of person) and I informed her I add on grill chicken and she wasn’t sure how to add so came her blond colleague (I don’t get her name) that add on CHF3 + CHF5.50 so it’s additional of CHF3 on my bill. (She said my menu should be expensive menu instead of Meatballs menu) So I took my bill and then after I checked it, I went back for an explanation. The lady that help the cashier insisted that she will explain to me and even give me Rice Up pamphlet to study? Is she for real? She’s rude and she just want me to listen to her instead of admitting that they were at fault for not making it clear. Perhaps the staffs should study the pamphlet or menu instead not me! I’m a frequent Rice Up customer in Bern and I understand how it works. I really have no time to talk more cos I’m travelling back to Bern so I just left. I felt it was just a waste of my time over CHF3 and misleading explanations. Decided to post my bad experience on google maps so that other customers should be aware of their strategy to charge customer more without informing the customer in advance and simply charge extra whenever they wants (Refer the receipt additional Küche without informing the customer. Unbelievable!). Hence the 1 ⭐️ for the service.

Stopped here for my first meal on my first visit to Switzerland. Our 'bowls' were fresh and tasted great! Service was prompted and so friendly. I was a United States tourist and I felt extremely welcome at this location -- thank you, Rice Up!

I ordered for 15.90 and first gave the cashier 17 francs (10 note, 5 francs and 2 francs), then I discovered a 1 franc coin in my coin compartment and gave it to him. He then only gave me 10 centimes back. When I explained this to him, he wanted to discuss things first and then hesitantly gave me my change. It's a shame because I actually eat there several times a week, but this employee is very unfriendly and in my opinion he shouldn't work at the cash register because you can obviously see that he doesn't like doing this job.

My vegetarian tofu-bowl had pieces of meat in it. This should not happen.

Far from cheap and prepared with little love. The quality is good but the conditions are not right at all.

Service friendly and explains or advises. For someone new, you first have to orientate yourself and get an overview. The food was very good, large portions and a fair price. Gladly again.

Really excellent. I quite enjoyed my Rice Up Bowl. Interestingly sort of Asian fusion where the meal is served up very quickly but not at the expense of it tasting good and feeling reasonably healthy!

Food very tasty. But I had actually chosen a ready-made bowl, but was still asked again about every step.... in the end I got less for the same price. Very hectic when dealing with customers. A pity.
