Everything is really right here! Top quality for years. My favorite: Brasato. But everything else tastes wonderful too. The rhubarb zabaione dessert is delicious. We were attentively and warmly looked after by the service. Actually you don't want to leave again... GUEST venue at its best!

We visited this restaurant because of the good reviews, but in our opinion it was overrated. The nice ambience and cleanliness of the restaurant are positive. The negative thing was that our soup was on the table 2 minutes after we ordered it, and it wasn't really hot and the taste was okay, but nothing more. The main course that followed was already on the table after maybe 2-3 minutes. The braised beef with risotto wasn't really hot either and my tartare was rather bland and the bread was black and bone-hard. It seems as if all the dishes have been prepared for a long time and are only warmed up briefly. When serving an open wine, in our opinion the bottle should be shown to the customer and the glasses should be filled in front of the guest, otherwise something else could be filled with wine. A greeting from the kitchen in advance would be nice, given the high prices. We enjoy eating out often, but will no longer consider the restaurant.

Incredibly delicious risotto and espresso

Incredibly delicious food with excellent service! We received a very warm welcome and were given a place even without a reservation. The outdoor area is cozy, beautifully decorated and invites you to linger. The menu is smaller but well thought out. The food came quickly and tasted excellent. A wonderful evening! It wasn't the last time we were here.

The garden in the inner courtyard is wonderfully quiet and very large. The food was very good and the service was nice. What I was missing, however, was that there were no local beers, only Appenzeller. Ticino has so many local smaller breweries!!!! That's why we only chose water. Hope there are at least 1-2 local varieties on the next visit.

We are excited! Here you can get authentic Ticino cuisine! Highly Recommended. A little inconspicuous from the outside, you will find a great, inviting garden inside where you can comfortably enjoy your food and wine under the pergola. The service is very warm, extremely prompt and exudes “Italianita”.

Beautiful historic restaurant located in the village of Ascona, the rooms with cross vaults are magnificent and tastefully furnished, the dishes are excellent, cooked and served with care. In summer you can also take advantage of the garden. I can only recommend it to you.

Magnificent and good, review from 2017. Time had already passed before my eyes while walking in the beautiful villages of Ascona, where every now and then, especially in the summer period, there is always a beautiful environment. This time we therefore wanted to try to reserve and stop to eat at Borromeo located between these villages. I was in June 2017. In addition to the menu, the proposals of the day are listed. We ordered appetizers, first courses, second courses and desserts. Nothing disappointed us. Also very courteous staff and service at the right pace without rushing the customer who wants to eat calmly. The risotto with monkfish was a hit, but so were the ravioli filled with Vallemaggia goat cheese with Kumquat butter and pine nuts. The pike perch proposal of the day was cooked to perfection and very good but the side dishes left something to be desired, too many peppers and a little slop on the bottom of the plate. The bill is clearly appropriate for Ascona, perhaps a little expensive. Fr. 11 a Catalan is exaggerated. The place is very nice, from romantic to rustic. However, we will return on occasion to taste other delicacies. Thank you!

We were in Ascona with friends and looked for a restaurant online. Because of the good reviews, we chose the Borromeo and were not disappointed! Inconspicuous from the outside, the restaurant leads into a very pretty garden. There's something for everyone on the menu! It's not exactly cheap, but the price-performance ratio is right! The food was excellent. A highlight was the dessert: chocolate semifreddo with raspberry sauce - a dream! The service was also great: very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive; People with experience and joy in their job work here. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely place for lunch/dinner,especially on a hot day. They have a wonderful garden with tables under the palm trees and the food is delicious. I recommend the mango buratta. The staff is very friendly and polite

Honestly, best risotto we have ever had! Highly recommended not only for their amazing risotto con brasato (best we had so far in ticino) but also for their beautiful garden area - do yourself a favor and give it a try
