Ristorante Riva in Lugano

My experience in Lugano Lake was absolutely amazing! The weather was perfect, adding to the beauty of the breathtaking views. The ferry trip across the lake was a highlight, providing a unique and enjoyable way to explore the surroundings. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more delightful. I highly recommend taking a ferry trip in Lugano Lake for an unforgettable experience.

To avoid! Melon ham 24 francs which includes a slice cut into 3 small pieces and poor quality ham

We ate there at lunchtime, the waiter didn't give us the menu and explained to us that he only had 3 dishes left. We don't ask the prices and we leave with a bill of 58 euros for two small salads and a bottle of water. Of course there is a beautiful view but it is very expensive.

Unfortunately the food neither looked nor tasted fresh. The location is great and so was the wine. However, I would avoid this restaurant if you want to eat something fresh.

Don't go there! Always full. You have to book otherwise you might find a hole. Plus there are also toxic algae!

My husband and I are very happy with this beach, a platform on the lake, there is no beach, there is no swimming pool, not particularly suitable for children. The lifeguards are super kind, a special mention for Alfonso who we saw was very popular with the bathers. The bar and restaurant service are also excellent, there are also veg dishes on the menu. The staff is professional and friendly. The women's bathrooms each have their own sink with soaps, it's not like that everywhere, well done. Lido Riva Caccia is very quiet, for those who like to have a few hours of peace. We always go early in the morning and find a place even without a reservation. If you don't have special discounts, an umbrella and two sunbeds cost 22 CHF. Only note: there is no Wi-Fi (!) Congratulations to all

Lido very well located, very beautiful setting, good cuisine, reasonable price/quality. There are 2 parts. One side with the deckchairs is calmer, quieter and the other side with deckchairs too, but where we have lunch, therefore more traffic, louder music. All the staff are friendly and always available 😎👌💐💐💐I really enjoyed this idyllic setting 🎉

Open from spring and summer as a floating platform used as a lido and also as a restaurant. Very scenic, but with few seats available. I've been there several times for lunch. The menu proposals are mainly related to salads and cold dishes. Good, prepared with care and attention to the quality of the ingredients. Prices above average but motivated by the location literally on the lake.

Very nice place to swim and relax. The bus number 1 stops directly in front of the lido. You can just walk in. No reservation is needed. We paid only 11 chf per head. This gives you access to changing room/wc, 1 sun bed and umbrella. No towels were provided. It was not as expensive as we thought. The only problem is there was not much room to walk to your place. I swam to the dock, very nice view around me but also half-dead people trying to catch skin cancer. A+ for effort.

We found this place by chance after visiting the ethnography museum. Excellent food. Location is calm and serene. The boy serving us was very attentive and sharp. Good menu with salads. Deserts a bit pricy. Loved their pistachio ice cream!

The location is suggestive but the prices and service are expensive. You can't pay 11 euros for a spritz with no appetizers attached!

The Riva Caccia lido is always a hospitable and pleasant place, having lunch there in spring and summer is a bit like being on holiday, the good food, the attentive service, the view opens the heart. Always a great alternative, particularly during weekdays (at least for me)

Breath taking view from this restaurant located by the lake. There is possibility to swim here. However, kids are not allowed to swim unattended although there is a shallow end of 90 cm. Beware that even if the adult is not swimming you are charged too. So they charge the kid plus the adult.

Stupendous! I really liked it, the environment is really special, it is practically on the water. We had lunch looking at the beauty of the lake, we relaxed. The sandwich was excellent, one of the best I've eaten to date!

It was absolutely great. We found this place accidentally and we loved it. Especially the kids fell in love with this swimming area.

The place is very beautiful and I have been coming there for years, but for a place of this category with still "significant" prices, I find it very limiting that some foreign newspaper such as the Corriere della Sera is not made available. There was only one type of newspaper, the Corriere del Ticino, it's a shame it's something that can be easily changed... greetings

As the organizer of a Meetup group, I requested to organize an aperitif for between 5 and 20 people with confirmation of the exact number of participants the day before. This range between 5 and 20 means that it is rarely possible to anticipate registrations. But as a general rule we arrive at around twenty people, sometimes more than 30. The bar refused this reservation on the pretext that we could not indicate in advance the exact number of people. Many establishments, much more modest, have opened their doors to us, very happy to be able to fill their coffers after this difficult Covid period. Obviously this establishment does not need additional customers or money, so good advice: choose small bars where you will be welcomed with open arms and avoid this type of address where the customers are snubbed. A satisfied customer is a customer who returns with other customers. Fortunately others have understood this golden rule.

Excellent place in the center of Lugano. A type of platform that looks like a landing stage with a small swimming pool that is certainly a good idea to use in the warmest months of the year. The guests are very polite, very pleasant with very quick service. Brilliant for the sunny days. Now, starting the first week of April, it seems to me the best way to spend a pleasant time. I would recommend it with closed eyes. Excellent place in the heart of Lugano. A kind of platform that looks like a jetty with a small swimming pool which is definitely a good idea to use in the warmer months of the year. The waiters are very nice, very kind with very fast service. Great for the sunniest days. Today, starting from the first week of April, it seems like the best way to have fun. I would recommend it with my eyes closed.

Arrived in Lugano after a motorbike trip. Too many people but they still let us sit. Courteous and kind staff. They don't have a menu. Prices too high and exaggerated considering that it is a snack bar we did not expect it.

I was there with my SUP board. The staff was courteous and very nice. There you will find everything you need, comfortable loungers, cold drinks and of course the lake.

Open for lively lunch when others were closed, we were hungry but it was past lunchtime

The food was bad. An overpriced piece of meat with 3 small potatoes and green salad without sauce, no sauce, no herb butter and that for 60 francs. The staff was unfriendly and unmotivated. We ate there at 8 p.m. and that was probably too late for the staff and they made that clear to us. Never again!

Terrible service!! The waiter who served us was super unpleasant and very rude!! The entrance was closed, but inside the bar was empty!! No, I don't think I will come back to this place again even if I'm close to home!

3 stars because unfortunately I only went to drink a cocktail at the end of the evening just before closing.. despite everything the cocktail, a mojito, was delicious.. I cannot, at the moment, have an overall opinion. For this I apologize to the owners but it is still a place to explore! See you soon !

WARNING: They might miscalculate your bill and harass you all night for it. Only pay with cards and keep receipts. Or, even better, just go somewhere else. What a shame cause the food and location were quite decent.

A place where it's nice to relax With a beautiful view of Lake Lugano, it has a floating terrace on the lake, umbrellas, sun loungers and, of course, a Bar Restaurant that serves quite a few products needed to take a short vacation, the staff is rude including swearing a voce alta facendo Dio (pig)

A total disappointment: I wanted to celebrate a 30th birthday by having an aperitif at 7.15pm, unfortunately we couldn't do it before, since we all work late, they tell us it's fine. I book for Thursday, on Wednesday they call me to ask me what day I wanted to go because the girl hadn't marked it... Chills. Watered down and consequently expensive cocktails, non-existent service, we are not given any aperitif because "the aperitif time has passed, the kitchen is now open". Couldn't they have told me when I booked that they couldn't even serve us two chips and two olives? It seems designed to make us order dinner. They take away the still half-full glass of one of my friends who was temporarily absent from the table. Oh, just for information: if you bring a cake from outside you have to pay 7CHF per slice for the cutting fee. It seems a little expensive to me since in our case the cut would have cost as much as the cake itself. Then we complain that people go across the border: it's not a question of money and savings, but if for half the price I'm also pampered or if nothing else I'm given a better service than this, of course I'd prefer to go elsewhere. However, even in Lugano there are better places with equally spectacular views. Edit: I was contacted directly by the extremely kind, courteous, professional manager who wanted to personally apologize and provide explanations. I thank them for that and they definitely deserved another chance :)
